But it's recommended to go 48V once you pass the 3.5KW.

Sadly, my lithium battery is 24V. Going 48V means I have to change battery too.

hmm, to best of ma knowledge, a Hybrid-Inverter is just an inverter that additonally contains a battery charger.

Also, to best of ma knowledge, that in-built charger inside that hybrid-inverter, often times, isn't capable of fully recharging your battery regularly.

Also, to best of ma knowledge, when something bad happens to that inverter, that battery charger is automatically affected. Reason why I love things dedicated so a fault on one, doesn't prevent me from using the other.

Also, to best of ma knowledge, with a hybrid inverter, it's difficult UPGRADING one, without forceFully upgrading the other.

Also, to best of my knowledgge, upgrading from 2.5KVa inverter to 3KVa inverter doesn't make much sense as sooner, than later, you would have reason for another upgrade. why not upgrade from 2.5KVa to say 5KVa or above ?

I have been away from this thread for only two days and a lot has gone down.

My problem with most Nigerian vendors is that they treat customers the same way bus conductors treat passengers. They only value one when you're outside their buses, once you enter and money changes hands, they treat you like trash.

When I have the time, I will share my experience dealing with vendors on this thread.

With all your due diligence, you fit still buy fake.

Na the fear of buying fake make me never buy panel till now.

Valto 300ah 24v LIFEPO4 battery is 7,680KWH according to him. You will add some amount with your balance to get the inverter.

Let me say this, though most would ignore it.

There are lots of rePACKAGed batteries in the market. Even (popular) Luminous is mostly FAKE.
Some cunny Dealers/Sellers would give you a higher price, and whenn you try to price too much, they stylishly say "except you want those market batteries which we don't have" .

If you happen to know the price of original 100AH Luminous battery eh, you would begin to wonder how...

Let's not even get into battery Capacities. you see eh, that 220AH might not be up to 190AH.

Some expensive MPPT charge Controllers, might be less than Average PWM charge Controllers.

Be careful of (recommended) Dealers/outlets - You see eh, that you buying LG product from a branded outlet, doesn't necessarily mean you're NOT BUYing FAKE.

I don't often have time here, else would have started up a thread on how to use Solar without inVerter - of course that depends on nature of your Load

I can confirm and agree 100% with your take on Luminous batteries. Most in the market are fake.

It was until I called the company directly that l realise this.

I have decided to go the Liuthim way based on recommendations on this thread. Will be getting a 300A 24v from Valto by Monday, hopefully.

The Starlink is very good and Ultra-fast!! I've even dismantled my DSTV dish cos i'm using IPTV and doesn't buffer a milli second... maybe except on a rainy or stormy day which doesn't last than 5 minutes

The cons:

*Monthly Sub is expensive especially when you do not stay at home all day (Though we split payment between my neighbor who uses the internet too)
* Requires steady power supply for it to work unlike our rechargeable Mifi hence more reason I wanna get a power backup plan

How to reduce chances of buying FAKEs, focus more on unpopular Genuine brands e.g Luminous is a known and popular Good brand. Why not go for something else which is equally good or even much better, but not so POPULAR.
Those who do fakes, or repackage products, focus more on what MANY people are buying. That's one of the reasons why it's difficult buying FAKE Sony products.

From my personal observation, there are many fake products in the Nigeria market and it's very hard to find honest sellers.

From instance, Luminous tubular batteries (the major three types) are been advertised online within 150K - 230K. I called the company to inquire about their battery and cost, and the cheapest was 317K, the highest was I think 368K. Though they offered a reasonable discount.

They disassociated themselves from sellers selling below the prices I mentioned above saying they're rebranded or fake product.

This is not peculiar to Luminous alone. May we not invest our monies with the wrong people.

Please I need recommendation on reliable Luminous Battery sellers, preferably in Ibadan.

Yes you definitely can. Infact I would advise you get the 24v battery pack instead of buying 2pcs of 12v battery packs and connecting them in series to get 24v. Here are few of my reasons:

1. It may be a challenge especially for noobs in the alternative energy DIY'ers to regulate balancing of voltages across the two batteries. One battery may drain faster/charge faster/slower than the other and this gives rise to voltage imbalance. Ultimately you may need to get a voltage Equalizer / balancer.

2. The batteries stand the risk of both getting spoilt at about thesame time, especially if the above issue isn't fixed on time. This is unlike battery packs connected in parallel.

All things being equal sha.

Actually, I am considering going for lithium batteries. This is the set up I have in mind:

1. 3.5KVA 24V hybrid inverter
2. (2) 200ah 24V lithium batteries
3. OR (4) 100ah 12V lithium batteries

I am now stucked decising on what brand of inverter to go for. I am thinking between Sorotec and Felicity.

Any recommendations on a good inverter is highly appreciated.

Yes. There are single 24v n 48v batteries for lithium. It might be available on lead acid too but I avnt seen 1 b4.
As for ur previous question. It not advisable u go above this wattage on various level of voltage as you will definitely be spending ridiculous amount inorder to keep up with the amps draw
12v - 1500w
24v - 3000w
48v - 6000w
Like that. If u want something bigger eg 12kw on 48v level u can den decided to spending more on cables and batteries eg 12kw 48v lifepo4(can do 1c) with 48v 15kva inverter(real capacity). Or u get get 2 different inverter with batteries n parallel the output(for inverters that has this feature)

24v means you would need to buy and use two batteries everytime you wish to make use of the inverter or upgrade to newer batteries when the old ones are weak/bad.

48v by extension means you would need to buy 4 batteries (each battery is 12v).

You can't use one battery (rated 12v) at a time for either of the inverters above.

Know that most batteries are rated 12v.

The voltage of the inverter however depends on what you wish to power i.e. Your use case

If not, just get a higher pole to keep the panels out of little children's reach. I have seen pole holding 3 panels up to roof line.

So, it doesn't. But this will obstructe free movements of vehicle in the compound.

Since you looking at buying only inverter and battery, then charge controller is not necessary. Charge controller only comes into the picture when u want to install solar panels

I stumbled upon this thread while researching about solar and inverter solution due to the current economic development.

I plan to set up a 3.5KVA/24V Inverter system without solar panels for now as the tenancy agreement doesn't allow solar panel installation on the roof, but I want a system which allows for solar in the future. I believe that's what is referred to as hybrid system from my research.

This is for a three-bedroom apartment, I plan on getting the items myself and in bit to save cost and reduce the financial pressure on me.
