Mr Julius Agwu is not Igbo. Thus, it's incorrect to bring Igbo culture into this matter.

You could contribute to this discourse without tribal sentiments.

You wrote as if you knew Igbo culture. How does Igbo culture or family treats woman when her husband is down?
I never wrote the comment with the intention to diss or spite the Igbo tribe. If you read the comment carefully, you would see where I mentioned the entire African culture by extension. I am not into tribal bigotry ! Don't twist my write up! If you see things only through tribal and ethnic lens that's up to you sir!

Religion / Re: Hollywood Movies: Joshua Mike-Bamiloye Says 'Guard Your Heart Diligently' by Yemideee: 6:11pm On Apr 17, 2022
I do agree with certain points the writer raised in his write-up but from a personal perspective,I grew up watching the types of Hollywood movies in question but never for once did they interfer in my thought process or my understanding of religion and life generally;it was strictly entertainment! Now as an adult fantasy movies don't even appeal to me that much.

But then I remember that we are in a different age where external influences(social media, movies, songs etc)on children actually outweighs parental, familial, and religious influences!

A very salient question.

How many men can be so true to stay with their wives in times of trials such as sickness, infertility or accidents? The ratio of women who will stick around is more than the men. Women will always suffer the brunt. It's what society has required of them.

Only a woman gets to condone a cheating husband, a man will never do that. They will say pray and hope he changes. When a man is infertile, she takes the blame and society thinks she's the infertile one, she's faulted anyway. How about a fatal accident? They will run and never look back. They desire fresh commodities. But, a woman will always stay regardless.

They say women aren't loyal, but I can tell you for free that men are 80% more disloyal than women.
true! When I read the Bible and I see the text that says that calls women weaker vessels,I'm always amused and sometimes I tell myself 'maybe they mean it in other context'..'cos for me 'a well raised' woman is the strongest being you can ever encounter..

Men understand strength only in the sense of the physical but women possess a kind of strength most men can only aspire and dream to have. It's a shame that most women of strenght are unsung heroes !

Lately, I read a narrative of Frederick Douglass' and I was shocked to find out he only mentioned his wife's name once or maybe if checked closely twice...upon my scrutinising other literary works,I found out the wife played not just a role but a highly major role in his escape from slavery and his consequent success in later life..

My mother is the strongest (person;not just woman) that I have ever seen.I will write about her one day.

How many men will stay with a woman if she's persistently sick for i.e 7-10 years in a roll?

It's a huge toll. May God not let us experience what's too much for us.

Humans shouldn't avoid the urge to judge. You spoke well
thank you

You nairalanders should please stop being bias against women. For a woman to have stood with a man at the height of his illness (according to the write up) and later abandon the man could be due to several reasons..

What if the man became someone else due to his financial strait and the woman couldn't cope again;I have seen men who reverted to dangerous habits all because they lost their source of livelihood.. I have seen otherwise responsible men who upon experiencing financial problems turned to wife beaters and irresponsible fathers..
I am not calling Julius Agwu irresponsible,I am just trying to stress the fact that we should all be open minded
.
What if the man's family have been giving her tough time.. I know for a fact that the Igbo culture and the African culture by extension is not always kind to women in situations when things are not going smoothly and sometimes even when they are...The possibilities are endless..

The woman could indeed also have left him because of the reasons y'all said..but we couldn't be so sure..

For the 'redpillers' calling women scum..you guys are actually the scum...and I find it a shameful thing that you don't have the decency to show a lil bit of respect to the gender largely responsible for your existence.

Apart from poor hygiene (including oral), there can be no red flag bigger than:

Gimme Tfare
Help me recharge
My Subscription just finished
Etc....

At this point, I am already far gone into Ghost mode to notice any further flags!!! undecided
you must be a very stingy man!!
Crime / Re: BRT Driver Told Bamise, 'Fine Girl, It’s Only You I’ll Pick’ – Brother by Yemideee: 1:40pm On Mar 12, 2022
This Mr Nice sounds confident. The family should gather sources together or advocate for help to hire a private investigator... if not, the matter will be swept under the carpet.
His phone records and bank transactions should be tracked..to win this case, Bamise's family need money, that is what they should seek help for.maybe people can open a GoFundMe acct.on behalf of the deceased!
