IamTheJ: Honorable Nairalanders,
I have finally confirmed It's not a dream; it's real. It's PPR!!!!
Got a email notification from IRCC around 9:30 am on June 27 to check my mail for a message. Without delay and with my inner eyes raised to, and fixed on, he who lives in the highest heavens, I logged in to my portal. I scrolled up slowly as I didn't want to rush it. I saw "You have 2 messages" on my dashboard, my shaky heart was strengthened a bit because, from what I have noticed from people's posts on Nairaland, PPR often comes with it's twin brother, BVL. Yet I continued scrolling up in slow motion; lo and behold, it was PPR and its twin brother. Then I glanced at the "Final decision" section and saw "Your application was approved...". Guys! Only heaven could say how large my heart dilated in joy.
I needed to take the whole day to be sure I wasn't seeing a vision or having a daydream, and share with families and friends.
Further below you'll find my timeline. But before that, it may interest you to know that my application is quite unusual. And since I joined Nairaland, I haven't seen any one similar.
To give you an idea:
1) FIRST TIME APPLICANT (NEW PORTAL)
2) DID EVERYTHING MYSELF WITHOUT MUCH PRIOR KNOWLEDGE (submitted my application just about amonth after joining Nairaland)
3) 38 years old with very little or no secular work experience (there's a reason for that, though). Single, but not searching yet. lol!
4) Currently not working (though was doing an online course that is not even related to my prospective program - Master's in Philosophy)
5) As a logical follow-up of no.4, NO FINANCIAL/PERSONAL ASSETS declared ( there's a reason, though). Didn't submit any personal Bank statement; just my sponsor's. (People are refused visa on the basis of lack of financial/personal assets. But I got approval even without any; what God cannot do does not exist).
6) SPONSORED BY A MATERNAL UNCLE (Mum's immediate younger brother) living and working in the US as a medical doctor. (Third-party sponsored applications get up to 95 - 98% refusal; practically all approvals I've seen on Nairaland are either self-sponsored, spouse-sponsored, parent-sponsored). But I got approval; God too strong o. When he opens the door, no one can close it.
As you can see, what we call "red flags" abound. Plus a plethora of other imperfections i noticed in my application after I had submitted, as I got more enlightened following people's inputs on Nairaland. In fact, when I read people's refusal reasons and the watertightness of approved applications, I felt there was no need to keep deceiving myself. I never gave up trusting in God, though. Tell me, then, why we can't call this a miracle from the Most High.
TIMELINE
- Application Submitted - MAY 11
- Biometrics - MAY 12 ( Lagos)
- Upfront medicals done - MAY 9 ( didn't submit the information sheet with the application)
- Upfront medicals updated - JUNE 22 (after sending the information sheet via webforms and emails to Nairobi, Lagos, Abuja, and London around mmid-June)
- Eligibility Started same JUNE 22
- PPR and BVL - JULY 27
Total duration of my application is therefore 10 WEEKS and 2 DAYS.
I'll come back to share the DOCUMENTS Submitted (They are not that much).
Some unanswered questions on this thread will find responses with my case.
If you no Sabi pray and trust in God, begin now de learn am. If you no believe sey miracle still dey happen, you don see am now. lol!
KINDLY NOTE, HOWEVER: each person's case is unique. I tailored my LOE and I believe honesty pays. Know your case and present a tailor-made application. No complications.
Going to UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA. Someone told me amusingly that uOttawa visa applications are never turned down. lol! (Don't take this seriously, please). Na only God fit do the magic!
To be honest, I carry everyone here in my prayers. The Lord who did it for me will do it for each and everyone of you here trusting in Him. Rest assured of that. Thank you all for all your contributions on this thread. You'll surely smile soon, starting with the Fall session candidates because their case is more urgent. It'll surely end in praise!
I hope this encourages someone.
Thank you! Thank you!! And Thank you!!! Wow!!! Just wow!!! Indeed this can only be God, I’m so happy and excited on your behalf like it’s my own application God is really good and his mercies endureth forever. This is how He would do mine and others, i have so much faith that He would do the impossible for I and others trusting him for PPR!!! Go and succeed already, congratulations to you!!!! |

SAF2K: Its Ppr people 3rd attempt, 40yrs Old Lady Thank you Awesome God Long post alert.
I am one person that never wants to leave Nigeria cause of the issues and racism abroad. But that changed when Buhari declared to run for 2nd term in 2018. I was livid and knew he will win and the decay n destruction going on post 2015 will be worst
My fear was for my children, is this the environment i want them to flourish in? So 2018 i began with wes runs, did ietls 2018 ,2019 got into the EE pool with a low score,2019 I pushed my husband to write ietls while his wes runs was completed.
Still we didn't make high scores, so i channelled my quest to pnp, got ita twice from Saskatchewan pnp, and twice the relative that gave me the sponsorship in Saskatchewan declined.
So back to ground zero, 2020 i went for another ietls while 7month pregnant , i received gbas, gbos, chai, then Corona lock down.
Ending 2020 i began searching for schools and applied to different colleges, cos i had 2.2 undergrad and and MBA so i felt getting direct master was impossible
2021 got my admission from centennial college to read project management.
1st app july 16 refused In September or so 2nd app Nov refused jan 20th This 2 app i used Centennial admission, and Gcms notes on both occasions stated lower degree from what i currently have in masters and no job prospects in home country.
After the 1st refusal i started looking for schools for masters. The process was very very daunting, i applied to Royal road Bc and Crandall University NB
Crandall came through for me(Master in Org Management) 3rd App 1st May ppr July 25th 2022
My patience was tested on this journey, i have already started plan b moves to Uk, that by Jan i will be on my way out,as i have 3 Admissions from uk schools in the bag for me.
Documents submitted in all 3 applications are as follows
Passport page School certificates Transcript Embassy reference from my organisation Birth certificate for me ,husband n my 3kids National population cert for the whole family Landed Documents Power of attorney of my mums property Certificate of return Finacial docs (using mybankstatement) LOA Passport photo Cv Family photos
I had my dear friend and colleague who was with me guiding and pushing me from the get go,MO you are the MVP I got inputs from Gms writers justmellow Frank did a great work on my application.
Its not a journey truly for the faint hearted, perseverance is needed and eyes on the ball always, never mind what it takes especially monetery wise. All those expecting or applying push push until u receive yours, God will crown all our efforts in Jesus name.
Where are my fellow Crandall Students Though had to defer to May 23 as slots for September is full already. Thank you for Nairaland Family Congratulations to you and your family!!! This PPR will reach all of us IJN |

Obibaby: LANDING GIST OOOOOO
MMIA to YYZ TORONTO
I left my house with my family around 8am and got to the airport by 9am. We got in later on and I went straight to immigration while my sister and mum went to fill a form for me. My brother wasn't allowed to enter at first but my sister gave the security 500 naira and he was allowed (ndi oshi).
So later on it was my turn to go meet of the officers and I was asked for my Enrollment letter and passport. Thank God I got Enrollment letter from my school before traveling cz I was even thinking it wasn't needed anymore. She sha started gisting me me and was telling me some stuffs. Later on, I went to check in, meanwhile my family were helping me out with my luggages (I had two extra 23kg Luggages making it 46kg and we paid huuuggge money meehn, but it's all good)
So at the check in point, I was asked for my passport only. She stamped my passport and then gave me my boarding pass. My Luggages where still being sort out and after the whole stress of weighing and getting off some stuffs into another big Ghana must go bag that we bought at the airport, and after paying for the extra Luggages, they finally checked in my Luggages and I was good to go.
I went to chill out with my family and after about 30mins or 1hr, it was time to go in for boarding. My family starte crying and even me too I cried but we had to say our goodbyes and I left amidst the emotional atmosphere. At the first point, the man man checked my passport and asked for weekend money, I sha gave him 200naira. I went in and met a queue, it got to my turn and I was asked for my passport and the yellow card that was given to me. I gave it to the man and he asked me to provide the address I would be staying at, and I did. I thumb printed and I went in. I got to another point of checking in your bags, shoes, wristwatch and phones/laptops. I got in after that I met yet another long queue (final one). It got to my turn and I was asked for my passport, vaccine card and arrive can. He checked them except for my arrive can cz he said I should go. Then a woman officer searched my hand Luggages and then asked your yet another weekend something. I sha gave her 1k and she was so happy. I then walked in to sear and wait for boarding. We finally boarded and took of after some mins. Landed at ADD and after much rigorous check-ins, got boarded again and took off to Dublin, got there but we didn't get off the airplane cz it was just some refuelling and aircraft check up landing. We took off after about 45mims and God in His INFINITE MERCIES brought us to Canada safely.
23hrs Journey from Lagos to Canada was all worth it and I still don't know how to thank my JEHOVAH EL-SHADDAI!!!
After getting study permit which was quite very easy and smooth (I was only asked for my passport, LOI and admission letter), I went to get my luggages and then waited for my sister and hubby to come pick me up. I finally saw them and then it was time to go home. I was pretty exhausted to even check out the beauty of Canada on our way home but I will return to gist you guys on that later.
I pray all who are still waiting for PPR will get theirs soonest. God bless us all and continue to keep us. We will be alive to see and be all that God has purposed for us in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen!!!
Shalom!!! Congratulations once more, may God do mine for me and others expecting PPR!!! |

Happinesssss: Please guys, for those who recently got their international passport how long did it take, in their website I saw 6weeks, don't know if it will take more than that.
Please gurus in the house, is the international passport part of the requirements to gain admission to a school in Canada, or would I also be asked for an international passport data page when applying to a school. It’s not advisable to register via their website except you have 3 months and above patience to keep waiting. There is so much of delay now with international passport. Best bet is to use a sure plug for it and get a biometric date max a month and ask for fast tracking also which comes with its own cost. And yes your international passport is very much required to process your school application. You would need to attach the biodata page alongside other documents. |

BobLeeSawagger1: Hi Guys,
I’m back to share the last part of my story! God has finally done.
I started the journey I 2019 when I applied for the SINP nominee program. In January 2021, my application was rejected based on POF. Why? Not because I’d do not show the requested amount, but because I transfer part of the money to an investment account and failed to show the proof as well as LOE.
Due to my determination, I applied again that same month. Fortunately for me, I received another ITA in February 2021, and submitted a complete application in April 2020.
I decided not to put all my eggs in one basket, in the same month of February, myself and my spouse applied to four different colleges (paid application fees) and got admitted to two of the colleges.
Despite having ongoing SINP application, we decided to pursue student route. I reached to different agencies both home and abroad to assist with the student application and also include my family. Most of the feedback centered around me applying first and after three months, my family can join me.
Because I don’t want leave my family behind, I decided to DIY and as God may have it, I submitted the application in April 2021 along with visit visa for spies and kids.
In September 2021, my student visa was approved along with my family visit visa.
I deferred my admission to May 2022 because I did not want to start from Nigeria.
In December 2021, I received nomination letter from SINP and submitted my express entry application on 8th of January 2022
On the first of April, I travelled along with my family to Canada.
Just last two weeks, my express entry application was approved and got my COPR last week.
This platform played a major role and I’m so gratefully.
For those that are still awaiting decisions on their application, be optimistic, it will surely come. Don’t cut corners, follow the process.
If you need any information/clarification, feel free to reach out to me at aababasola@gmail.com Congratulations!!! God is good. |

Keller20: Yes, it is true. I can testify to that. I was once a mortuary attendant, I was not supposed to be on duty, I was helping my colleague who was home sick and by night, I was resting or should I say sleeping when I heard as if someone opened a door and walked out. I was frightened but I man up and decided to go and know what was happening and as I got inside, it was as if I saw two people walking to my direction and as soon as I switched on my touch, lo and behold, it was actually a walking corpse and the worst part was that eyes were opened. I literally bed wetted as though I wasn't lying on a bed. They were actually like five feet away from me which gave me time to know the next step but I was frozen on that spot and as they were closing in, I took to my heels straight to the bus-stop luckily I saw a bus by to 1 in the morning and I paid a thousand naira and forgot my change and ran straight to my house and started hitting the door as if I was being chased. it was one of the most shocking moments of my life. Remembered and decided to share with you cos you brought it up. I actually resigned the next day though.[/b] OMG this is terrifying Please where did it happen?? |
