Career / Re: Have You Ever Been Insecure About What You Studied In School? by Yemlizzy(f): 2:34pm On Jun 02, 2022
It all depends on how you present yourself on what you studied. No one would make you feel less of a human, if you didn’t give permission for such.

So therefore, up your self esteem and maintain a positive outlook daily and wherever you find yourself too.

This is so cruel and dehumanizing embarassed to think that she is pregnant on top. No girl should be treated this way.

Her supposed boyfriend is a beast who deserves to be beaten naked and paraded round the town like a criminal that he is.

Some parents and pushing courses on their kids which is utterly wrong, better to know their interests and guide them towards it.

Anyways the deed has been done, if you can manage to graduate do so or drop out and do the IT course you mentioned.

The IT or tech field is the new oil money especially as you can work remotely while doing other things. All the best.

They look malnourished and lack confidence. Just one stone and they're gone.

Even if you feed them , they always like skinny
Lol not true. when you feed them well, it shows on their body. Mine is an example, people usually ask what we give her to eat, she is fresh, chubby and adorable.

@Yemlizzy, yes,I know Steve Ogunpitan. A difficult man. He taught me literature in 100 level. He wasn't my type of lecturer.
Well, regarding whether I sabi book, I was one of the very serious students in my department. I always read ahead, always a step ahead of my peers. I once showed Dr Atolagbe the advance MAK Halliday's Systemic Functional Grammar had attains. Then,LASU were still teaching SYSTEMIC GRAMMAR,whereas, it had become SYSTEMIC FUNCTUONAL GRAMMAR. I showed her and she said," ..Me am not aware of it ooo! " She very humbly accepted it.
I remember another instance I brought her attention to an error t
about a grammar analysis, that looked more like a math she was having. She humbly accepted again.

I was mad at grammar. It was my forte.
Lol, nice one. I don’t miss them at all.

@Yemlizzy, yea. About Olorunleke, at some point I was struggling to get distinctions in his courses. So,I went the extra mile about a course he was teaching us- English Literature,a 300 level course. I quoted Ridley Scot's Gladiator and JRR Tolkien's iconic novel Lord of The Rings Trilogy, made for the big screen by Peter Jackson. These two sources got me an A in that course. I went to see him after the exam and told him : " Sir,...I finally got an A in your course..." In his mischievous way, he said," You deserve it."
It's pleasure too chatting with someone from my alma Mata.
Aww nice, the way you remember all these names though, you must sabi book grin

That department was really a tough one walahi, Steve Ogunpitan, the H.O.D then, do you know him? almost made me spend a year after 400L over project, the devil penetrated him to delay me. I’m glad i don’t have much reasons to go back there. Transcript that people use to come for back in the days can be gotten online now.

@Yemlizzy, lol! Very well . Ladele was teaching literature courses. I majored in language. Although,I did literature courses as electives. But she never taught me. She was a dreaded feminist. Her students were always apprehensive around her.
Mama Bello, as we always fondly called her then, taught us language courses, like Verbal Group and some other courses.
There was also Ayodele,Dr Mbisike, who happened to supervise my thesis, and Le Fak, Dr ,who's now a professor and the HOD.
My favourite was Ojo Olorunleke- a genius of a literature lecturer.
But,I didn't suffer in their hands. I was studious from day 1 to the very last day. I had fun at LASU. I still get nostalgic about my times there.
Aww this is beautiful to read, I majored in Literature and yes Ojo Olorunleke was also my favorite lecturer, I had a 5 in one of his tough courses and he was impressed and got to see my face in class that day. Ayo Dele, Adedoyin, Prof Fakoya, Atolagbe and some others I can’t remember taught me.

Ladele and Bello aint nice people, aced their courses notwithstanding. Got to know English language/literature is tough in a lot of federal and state schools also.

Nice talking to someone who went to same uni as I did and in same department too.

Something sounds amiss, just a year old marriage when they ought to sleep in each other’s arms. It’s quite sad they should sort out whatever May be the issue if the man is willing otherwise their love seems lost and diminished.

Things some people do for ill gotten wealth, how about the girl’s family?? So they don’t know she is staying with a man who hasn’t married her the right way. They didn’t ask or look for her. Something sounds amiss in this narration.

Sadly, those who will tow the path of this guy are many outside, still many girls won’t learn. Fetish purposes and rituals would definitely lead to a number of deaths for the female gender drastically this year.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How To Spot Toxic Work Places Before And During A Job Interview by Yemlizzy(f): 4:22pm On Mar 23, 2022
Often times, seeing is believing. A lot of organizations are politicized, and you have to kick a.s.s.e.s and hey when one Oga at the top doesn’t like you, just know you are in for it.

In almost every organization there is always one or more persons who feel the world revolves around them and most times there are usually the bosses whom those lower in rank report to.

All can be smooth and well, good pay, nice perks and what have you? But having a toxic boss would never give that piece of mind you deserve. These people, nothing you do is right is their eyes, some even spoil you and because of them you lose the promotion you deserve.
