Please I have a question for HR practioners here, is it justifiable to approve a training allowance for staff attending a training programme sponsored by the company. Bearing in mind that the venue is within the city that the staff works in.
The standard practice I am familiar with is that you provide transportation to and fro the venue for the period which I think is fear enough bearing in mind that the company is still responsible for the training.

An ICT requires the services of some Project expediter to support our project managers.


Primary responsibilities include daily support to each of the Project Managers in the form of project office administration, pre-design/feasibility,

These responsibilities will include clerical, administrative and general office duties

Act as liaison with clients, contractors through clear and consistent communication; develop, manage, and maintain online and hard copies of project management files;

Prepare and distribute development team meeting minutes.

Assist Project Managers with issuing Request for Proposals (RFP) for design and contractors.

Coordinate and assist Project Mangers with contract management for pre-design/feasibility services

Assist Project Managers with construction contract deliverables to ensure project is completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have: HND/BSc; a minimum of five (2) years experience; working knowledge of strong computer skills; Project experience; ability to work collaboratively with customers, Contractors, Project Managers, Accounting, other Project staff, must be extremely organized, detail oriented, and an independent worker & thinker; have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Let me share this presentation with you all.  I attended training on recruitment and selection with Philips Consulting early this month.  This is the presentation I developed from the training materials from Philips to enable me present it internally for some managers.  The  training materials is very rich but I just summarized from it.  I will also send to you material on Managerial Development Skills @ Impact Training  ASAP.

My fellow HR professionals, I visited the Secretaries (or Personal Assistant) forum and discovered they are really doing good job for themselves.

I think we can do better than what we are doing at present but it seems we leave everything to the hands of few to present while we sit back and enjoy without contribution.
I have a challenge, which I’m sure most of you are facing in your different offices.
I find it very discouraging how we are tossed at the background and make to be insignificant just because they see us as non-profit centre.
This is wrong because no company can exist without good HR. We manage people and managing people is the most difficult task.

Please can more experienced professionals encourage us and advice on how to face this challenge.
I agree with you. I have tried to stay away temporarily so that HR Profesionals won't be seen as a one man show. I expected people to come out and let us trash some of the issues affecting us. It can't be perfect and interesting If I am the only 1 running the show. So I am using this medium to plead with HR pple to make this forum an Interactive one.

HR jobs is thankless jobs no matter how much efforts and contributions you have made to it. But it's your career, you are enjoying it, that is only your strenght. That strenght has kepts me in HR since 1999.

i don't know what you guys mean by SAF spending so much and BerbaBerba is 27 and the hunter u guys are talking about is 25. whats the difference 2 years?

Berba has been proven to be a goal scorer in the EPL, to me hunter will be a gamble. Berba will intimidate any opposition. hes the kind of striker defenders will treat with respect and believe me, hes going to get 30 goals!!!!

now u know its Berba not Hunter. SAF knows what is good for United. Hunter may not strike it. I saw ajax game on saturday and my friend, a Berba will be a better option to me (personal opinion)
