They should hold Buhari, Lie Mohammed and all the evil APC responsible for this particular act. They are not happy with the peace deal because they think GEJ will gain more supporters by being able to stop Boko Haran. Pls recall that immediately the news of cease - fire started filtering in Lie Lie Mohammed came out to say that GEJ want to release the adopted girls to score a political point.
That's why I hate APC
Islamic Party with evil intention.
Power drunk, they want power by all means...
even if they contest with a child , I will prefer to vote for the child than vote for the one that have sold its heart to the devil.

siraj1402:
The Ondo State governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, on Tuesday lashed out at members of the Ondo State People’s Democratic Party executive, saying nobody would force him out of the party.

It will be his first reaction to the contentions raised by his defection to the party, particularly as it affects power sharing in the state executive committee.

While addressing party’s youth leaders from different parts of the country led by the National Youth Leader of the PDP, Alhaji Abdullahi Maibasira in Akure, Mimiko said he was not in the party to create crisis, but to add value to it.

Referring to the accusations by the state executive council that he had come to disorganise the party, the governor said discipline must be maintained for the PDP to be able to win elections in 2015.

According to him, there is the need to ensure the enforcement of the decisions reached at the highest level of the party.

He said, “No party will survive without party discipline, a party that takes decision and cannot enforce it is not a party, a situation where decisions are taken at the highest level chaired by the Senate President and some party members went to court to challenge is unacceptable.

“I have not come to PDP to be part of crisis, I have come to add value, I am not coming into PDP on the eve of a second term election and that is part of what we should consider, as a person I have no second term ambition, there is no Senate available for me, I have only come to add value.

“I am back in this party, I have made the move and nobody is going to force me out of PDP again, if anybody thinks he will create crisis and I will get angry and leave they are just wasting time, let us come together and build this party, discipline must be maintained.

“My colleagues that have decamped to PDP in the past they give them all the structure, all of them, Abia, Bauchi, Zamfara but I said I don’t need all the structure just to give comfort to the people am bringing on board, out of 27 seats at the state level I said let me take 14 and they take 13, anybody that say that is not fair enough for a governor that is coming with 25 members out of 26 in the House of Assembly.

“Since we came on board in 2009, we have had eight elections, Labour Party did not lose any of them, that is that value we are bringing and that is why am saying that the minimum is what we are asking, I was even surprised that people are contesting, I thought they should be exited

See the way they are sharing seats. I guess to supporters who may nt=ot add any value to the people but because they are his loyalists. We still have a long way to go. Shameless goat.

Am sure many sensible people on this forum will not bother to read this long trash.

naija2dabone:
The worst thing that can happen to Northern presidential aspirations in 2015 is for Buhari to be on the APC ballot.

On Friday, 23rd August, 1985, the military government of Major-General Mohammadu Buhari decided to place me under arrest. My crime was that I wrote, among others, an article entitled: “Counter-trading Nigeria’s Future” in the National Concord, exposing the government’s scam of diverting public funds into private coffers through barter-trade with Brazil. A man by the name of Benson Norman was sent from the State Security Services (SSS) to my office to get me. Not finding me, he left a note that I must present myself unfailingly at the SSS office at 15 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi Lagos the next Monday morning.

However, on Sunday, 25th August, 1985, Lateef Aminu came first thing in the morning to my house to inform me that the government of Buhari/Idiagbon had been overthrown. For this reason, I am fond of telling people that God brought about a change of government in Nigeria just because of me.

Coup-plotter

Under the Buhari/Idiagbon regime, once you ended up at 15 Awolowo Road, you may never be heard of again. Decree Number 2 of 1984 empowered Tunde Idiagbon to arrest and detain anybody indefinitely without trial and without legal reprieve. After Buhari was overthrown, Mohammadu Gambo opened the prison doors of 15 Awolowo Road on public television, revealing people in various stages of UnCloth and malnutrition that had been kept in the dungeons without trial by Buhari’s hound-dogs.

As self-imposed Head of State, Buhari had no regard for human rights. Immediately he seized power, he announced that he would “tamper with” the press. Soon, the infamous Decree Number 4 was promulgated which made even the publication of the truth a punishable offence. Under this cover, Buhari jailed innocent journalists, including Tunde Thompson and Nduka Irabo. He abolished civil liberties, promulgated retroactive decrees enabling him to kill Nigerians through jungle justice, proscribed civil society organizations and professional groups and exercised “absolute” power.

This same Buhari would now have us believe that he has gone through some metamorphosis and has become a democrat. I am sure you will forgive me if people like me don’t believe him. Buhari is not, has never been, and will never be, a democrat. Only in Nigeria would a man with his track record, who came to power through a military coup that illegally overthrew a democratic government, now be acclaimed as a democrat. It is on record that Buhari’s military regime is the only one in Nigeria’s history that failed to promulgate a program for return to civilian rule.

Facts and fiction

So what exactly qualifies Bihari as a democrat today? Precious little! There is nothing democratic about forming and joining political parties just in order to be the presidential candidate. Little wonder then that Buhari’s parties have a short shelf-life. Buhari would like to be Nigeria’s head of state once again. He can no longer achieve this through the barrel of a gun. The only route now open to him is through the democratic process. That is the reason why he now conveniently fashions himself as a democrat. It is merely a means to an end; no more, no less.

Buhari’s reputation as an anti-corruption crusader is also a myth. As head of state, he did not make any dent in Nigerian corruption. All we got was a cosmetic “war against indiscipline.” The counter-trade scam happened under his watch. Rather than deal with it, he sent his hound-dogs after nonentities like me who dared to expose it. That scam was no different, in scope and scale, from the petroleum subsidy and other corruption scandals that have since plagued Nigeria. The Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) that Buhari headed under Abacha was also a citadel of corruption. While Buhari himself might not have enriched himself, his cronies and those who worked under him did so handsomely.

On three different occasions, Buhari has run for the presidency. On three different occasions he has failed. That should really be enough. If, as seems likely, he were to run for the presidency a fourth time in 2015, there is no question that he would fail yet again. Try as he might again and again, Mohammadu Buhari can never be President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Buhari’s sectarianism

There is a fundamental reason behind this. Buhari is a lousy politician. He is an unbending former military dictator and not a democratic consensus-builder. Like his new ally, Bola Tinubu, Buhari is a regional, sectional politician. Such politicians are practically impossible to package and market nationally in the ethnically-delicate Nigeria of today.

Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Nasir El’Rufai, one of those Northerners who deserve to be serious contenders for the presidency of Nigeria, observed that Buhari remains “perpetually unelectable” as a result of his “insensitivity to Nigeria’s diversity and his parochial focus.” This is an elegant way of saying that politically, Buhari has an uncanny tendency to put his foot in his mouth. He talks before thinking of the political implications of his words. He shoots from the hip.

The strength of Obasanjo, which enabled him to capture the presidency on two different occasions, was that he was perceived as a broadminded politician, not overly partial to his people in the South-West. As a matter of fact, in his first election, his people did not want him. The strength of Goodluck Jonathan, which propelled him to win the presidency, was that he was able to string together a coalition that stretched both north and south of the Niger. The weakness of Buhari is that he is totally unacceptable to people outside his region.

Buhari is a Northern regional champion. As head of state in the 1980’s, his government was unapologetically Northern. No attempt was made to balance the ticket at the top. It was the only regime in Nigeria’s history headed by two Northerners. When he seized power, Buhari put Shagari, the Northern head of state he overthrew, under house arrest. But then he jailed Alex Ekwueme, the Southern vice-president. You may well ask what makes Shagari less culpable for the misdeeds of the Second Republic than his number-two man. The simple fact was that Buhari was Fulani as was Shagari; but Ekwueme was Igbo.

Impolitic words

At the height of the Sharia debate during the Obasanjo administration, Buhari declared that Muslims should vote only for fellow Muslims. This was politically suicidal for a man seeking national office. He became an advocate for implementation of Sharia all over Nigeria. He protested to the Oyo State governor, in the context of a dispute between Fulani herdsmen and indigenous farmers in the state, that “your people are killing my people.” This turned out to be unfounded and perhaps the reverse.

His threats during the campaign for the 2011 elections incited widespread violence in the North after he lost. His supporters went on a rampage; looting and killing; in spite of the fact that, by all accounts, the elections were adjudged the most free and fair in the history of Nigeria’s current democratic experiment. By the time the mayhem had subsided, over 1000 people had been slaughtered in cold blood and some 65,000 displaced.

Forgetting that a statement made in Hausa would readily be translated into English, Buhari later declared unapologetically in a BBC interview: “If what happened in 2011 should again happen in 2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood.” These are the tokens of an irresponsible politician, whose ambitions for power supersede the national interest. Who then are the dogs and baboons that Buhari has in mind to soak in blood if and when he loses yet again come 2015? Are they his children or are they those of others?

With the Boko Haram insurgency in the north, Buhari played to the Northern gallery yet again, calling the Jonathan government “the biggest Boko Haram.” Wole Olaniyi was a fly in the wall at a meeting in Kano Government House designed to persuade PDP rebel governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to decamp to the APC. Assuming that only Northerners were present, Buhari declared the Boko Haram was a “strategic plan” by the government of Goodluck Jonathan to “destroy the North.” When Jonathan declared a state of emergency in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa states, Buhari still saw this with Northern goggles, insinuating that the President is waging war on the North.

President of the North

Without a doubt, Buhari has massive support in the North. Indeed, he is the most popular Northern politician in the North today. But that precisely remains his undoing at the centre. The more he has been identified as a Northern champion, the less attractive he has become as a national choice. Even in the North, his support base is limited to the Muslim population. He does not appeal to Northern Christians. Then there is the added factor of the opposition of his implacable opponents among the Northern elite. Men like Babangida and Atiku would rather die than allow Buhari get to Aso Rock.

One thing is certain, the South-South and the South-East will not vote for Buhari in 2015. Not only that; there are no buyers for Buhari’s sectarian politics in the South-West. No matter what Tinubu might be telling him, the people of the South-West will not vote for Buhari in 2015. We already had the template in 2011, when Buhari tried to sell himself, first by balancing his ticket with a Yoruba man; and then by making sure the Yoruba man is a Christian; a pastor no less. But it just did not wash. It will not work in 2015.

The worst thing that can happen to Northern presidential aspirations in 2015 is for Buhari to be on the APC ballot. That is a sure guarantee that the North will not be providing the next president. Buhari would be a shoo-in in an election for president of Northern Nigeria. But in an election encompassing the entire country, the best he can envisage is to be a kingmaker. He cannot be king. The nearest Buhari will get to Aso Rock in 2015 is by attending the Council of State meetings.

Babzy11:
This are just disadvantages I feel Nigeria will encounter if we try APC,
1: PDP controls most states more than 56%, with that the governors can frustrate the Presidency.
2: Majority of the oil producing states are PDP
3: You think APC can clear terrorism? No, the only people than can really stop it are those that know who started it PDP.
4. PDP will always remain a National Party, you can not tear it down, they know when to fight and when not to, when election time comes they'll come back together.

I support APC, but I'm just being realistic, PDP will win come 2015, for APC to win any Presidential election ever, they've got to start from controlling the House of Assemblies, Governor's seats, House of Reps, Senate before they can smell success in Aso Rock, it's a stage by stage process.

Good job Obiageli. It is my prayer that God in His mercy will make many of us think right that we can break Nigeria from the grips of PDP. The feellers out there is that GEJ is weak, corrupt and maybe cluessless if you want to add that but it seems many Nigerians have resorted to fate that the man GEJ would still win 2015 presidential elections. I have tried in my little way to disabuse that mindset. You remembered the way people hated Late Gen Sani Abacha but it was as if we had no choice. We have over 89Million Nigerians apart from the very old and children who are potential presidential candidates but some are feeding us that GEJ is the only choice. We need to step up our game and let Nigerians know that there are plenty better choices out there. GEJ and PDP are the problem of this country. They told us in 1999 that they will fight poverty, construct roads, make the economy work and after almost 16years, they are still using the same campaign slogans!!!

2015 is for us to take and get it right. God will heal Nigeria.

Reuben Abati- Chief Liar of the Federation(CLF). GEJ in my opinion worth more than the quoted $100M. He has been stealing since 1999 when he was deputy governor in Bayelsa State. Its only a thief that will give Alams a state pardon, it is only a thief that will keep Diezani Madueke yet as a minister, it is only a thief that will not make any statement when $9.3M cash was found with 2 Nigerians and an Isreali, it is only a thief that will say on nantional media that Nigeria's problem is not corruption. It is only a thief and cluessless fellow that will give known crminals national award because they belong to the same class.

My sister is looking to purchase a vehicle and I am thinking of introducing her to this SUV but I noticed it is still tad expensive the cheapest offer I got was around 1.750m but the more recent year I.e 2007 to 2011 goes for 2m plus. Above all this is one lovely box suv to buy.

I read the verdict and tears came out of my eyes. There is law against mutiny and as they said the reward is death. The GOC was fired at because of fraustration and percieved embezzlement by the GOC. Nigerian law is very vocal on mutiny but silent on corruption/embezzlement. It then means mutiny is for the poor and less privileged in the society while corruption/embezzlement is for the elites.

Nigerians can stand up for these faithful and fearless soldiers in this most terrible period of their being. Better for them to die in the hands of the eneny than their own people.

PoliticsMy Ordeal In The Hand Of Men Of Nigerian Police And Lastma by YEMOYEMI(op): 2:03pm On Jul 21, 2014
Just like any other day, I closed from work on 15th July, 2014 and was driving home en route third mainland bridge. I was so pressed that I held myself till around Iyana Oworo. I sighted a policeman on duty and quickly parked my car beside him completely out of the road. I asked him if I could ease myself anywhere around there as I was so pressed but alas, he stressed out his gun at me that I was under arrest for obstructing traffic!!! He then pointed at a wall with an inscription “do not urinate here”. I called his attention to what was written on the wall but he threatened to shoot me if I failed to urinate there so he could hold that against me. I still refused and he asked his colleague to ‘shock’ me. He placed an electronic device on me and I felt electrocuted. Of course the urine seized.

The policeman ordered me to enter my car and started driving me away. I told him I was unlawfully arrested but he shouted me down. He claimed he was going to help me by not taking me to the station if only I cloud ‘cooperate’. I insisted on going to the station with him and we got to LASTMA office at Oshodi by 8pm. The men ordered me and my wife out of the car and called me names from: a fool trying to claim right, bastard, idiot and many other unprintable names for no offense.

After about 30minutes outside their gate with my car parked inside, one of them signaled to me. I approached him and he asked me how much I was willing to pay. So, I swore I was not going to pay a dime-I insisted I did not do anything wrong. He tried to slap me for being too bold but he missed.

I scrolled through my phone wondering if I could get someone who could help and yes, I got a few of them but the expected help didn’t come. So sad!!! The first 3 people I got across to advised I ‘negotiate’ and ‘settle’ with them. I tried to create a true picture of what transpired but one of them said it may not really matter because men of the Nigerian Police are as useless as the letter “p” in psychology. I got across to two highly influential people one of them I knew could get direct access to Lagos governor Babatunde Raji Fashola. Both of them said they were in different meetings but were going to get back to me.

While I was still standing outside of their gate with my wife holding her two hands to her chest in disbelieve, I saw a member of the security committee of the estate where I live. He was arrested for stopping and dropping a colleague by the road side. I narrated my ordeal and he felt so sorry for me, he accepted he may not have been right to stop where he did but expected the men in uniform not to have allowed him park rather than waiting for him to park and then arrest him. I then narrated a case I got a wind of recently to him. A road user asked a LASTMA official for direction only to be arrested by the police on the same road the LASTMA official told him to ply for driving one-way. Those are the excesses of the Nigerian police working in collaboration with LASTMA in Lagos State.

I challenged them openly and I screamed on top of my voice that on whose authority are they dealing with innocent people like common criminals. One of them claimed it was the Lagos governor that gave them the mandate to clear all the cars that are obstructing free flow of movement and use the offenders to generate funds to develop the state! What a way to make money for government. Then I cried!!! I saw Nigeria as a failed state just once again. Extort innocent citizens and charge them for offence(s) they did not commit because you needed the money to develop the state??(I refuse to believe that). Your destruction is nearer than you can imagine. That was my message to them. One of the men came to me around 11:30pm and I shall quote him verbatim, he said “Young man, you don’t prove your right with LASTMA or Police. They are not above you as God is above all of us but you must not argue with them. Just plead and accept fault, pay them something and they will let you go. Give what belongs to Ceaser to him. Who knows maybe this arrest and delay is to even save you from an impending accident in front” I was dazed!!! This same man had also called me names and ordered me to leave the compound or I get shot at.

Eventually, the man who drove me to the station came and said ‘O boy, e be like say you stubborn well oh, in fact you be fool. You see the other man there; we just gave him paper to go and pay N50, 000.00 and the other lawyer claiming right has been asked to pay N250, 000.00. I don’t know why I just want to help you. Go and bring N25, 000.00 and you will go home with your car. Others will go and pay and come back for their cars which they may not even get tomorrow. I became so helpless and I started to ‘negotiate’ with him as I was earlier advised.

So I paid! But before I agreed to pay I cried once again because I remembered I had sworn in God’s name that I was not going to pay them a dime. I failed to realize I was dealing with men of perdition who are destined to be destroyed. It was late at night and so I could not pick anyone of them by name but I can identify all of them. I wish I could get justice because I was unlawfully arrested and tortured and made to go through trauma. Where do I turn to? They claimed to be acting under the instruction of Lagos State governor. If their claim is true then I weep for this nation.

Lagos State residents should please rise up and say an end must come to this mindlessness. Excessive abusive of power of these agents must stop. I have hope and sympathy for APC but I will never associate myself with this madness in Lagos caused by the Police and LASTMA as they claimed they were empowered by governor Fashola. You are in authority today but surely will not be there forever as power is transient. If they excessively act on their own, then I can point to at least three of those men who deserved to be dismissed from the force. I can be tried also for giving bribe but Femi Otedola must first go to jail for same offence. I was wrong but I did what I did to save myself from further trauma because I had had enough and I pray never to experience such again.

They collected the money from me and asked me to wait outside so they could discharge the other two ‘offenders’ before I could be allowed to drive my car out. I was released around 11:50pm and I drove home in the heavy rain.

God bless Lagos and Nigeria!!!

PoliticsPosterity Will Judge You by YEMOYEMI(op): 3:48pm On Jan 06, 2014
Below was written few weeks ago (before ASUU's strike was called off)and I felt Is hould share with people on this forum.

This piece is intended for ALL the members of Nigerian National Assembly. I suppose part of your assignments as enshrined in the constitution you carry around even if many of you may not have opened the documents in a long time is to check the excesses of the executive arm of government something called checks and balances. Many are just busy arguing baselessly and reacting to the trend of events rather than be guided by the constitution you swore to uphold. I am not in any way insulting our dear honourable members but am just wondering what you are doing as the entity called Nigeria is on its way to extinction. I learnt you even have the powers to impeach elected President on some grounds which incompetence and no confidence are part of.

I have followed the present administrations and happenings in the country till date and will point out to you some instances where majority of people in Nigeria would have overwhelmingly raised vote of no confidence on the president but the power to do such resides solely with you as the representatives of the people/masses. I might be talking as a lay man who does not understand how government is being ran so all my allegations may not be correct but majority of Nigerians cannot be wrong.

I remember vividly when we came out all to the streets nationwide to fight the president’s evil hike in prices of petroleum products in the name of subsidy removal. The president through Finance minister and governor of the Central Bank said the country will collapse with the trend it was going if subsidy was not removed. SURE-P was set up to manage funds received from subsidy removal and down the line we read that about N500billion SURE-P was missing and the honourable members of assembly are quiet on this except they talked but we failed to hear their voices.
Amidst the subsidy protest, the presidency set up Nuhu Ribadu committee and so many revelations and recommendations were made but the report was swept under the carpet. Some people said the president sat on the report because his friends were part of those indicted. If this is true, one would have expected some questioning by you but we didn’t hear your voice. It was around this same period that giving and receiving bribe between Mr. Femi Otedola and Hon. Farouk Lawan came to light. After series of investigations, accusations and counter-accusations the case was swept under the carpet and Hon. Farouk continues in legislative business while Femi Otedola becomes a closer ally of the president.

Just recently, a revelation was made of unbudgeted and unapproved armoured cars bought for the aviation minister with tax payers’ money to the tune of $255 million!!! As usual of the president, he set up different committees to look into the allegation and we assume the committees members are yet to submit their reports as nothing is heard of the case again. I read also that your able selves requested that the madam minister-Stella Oduah appear before you. She did not honour your invitation yet we did not hear your voice. Maybe you shouted but we failed to hear your voice as usual of us.

With the exalted positions you occupy, you can help us confirm the recent claim by the CBN governor that NNPC failed to remit some amount of money to the government and at whose order. Also find out where the money involved is as we speak. You will do well if you can go a step further to check the accounts of all the federal ministries, agencies and the likes. I can bet you that what you will see will be greater compared with the aviation ministry scandal. Corruption seems to be the order of the day in this present government and the presidency seems to be sleeping. This country is being drained by a few people.

As the representatives of the people, I and many other people you represent will like to know the role you played in the 5 month old ASUU strike. Were you not surprised and disappointed when Mr. Labaran Maku and Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said the government did not have money to meet the demands of the striking lecturers? Maku even said the country will go down if the government paid the money! Government claimed the sum of N200Billion is now deposited with the CBN for the lecturers few days ago and I wish to ask where the money come from. Was it borrowed from the IMF or World Bank? Can you please ask finance minister and CBN governor to tell us the true state of our economy and finances?

I have so many issues bothering me but I will mention just two more briefly and save the rest for another day. Did you read or listen to Asari Dokubo on his threat in case President Jonathan fails to get second term in 2015? He threatened to bring the country down on her toes and the presidency did not say a word to caution him nor tried him for treason. Chief Bisi Akande referred to the presidency as kindergarten and hell was let lose!!! Which of the statements is dangerous to the survival of the country? Many of you were also seen to be divided on the Rivers State crisis along personal and political party interest. A sad story to tell! Many things are no longer working in the country and our president has visited virtually all the countries of the world without any word from him as to his frequent trips and its benefits if any to the country. It is surprising that your Excellencies did not see any reason to ask the president questions not to talk of finding him incompetent.

I wish to react to the recent letter former president Olusegun Obasanjo wrote to president Goodluck Jonathan but I guess I should save it for another day. You can just help me tell the president to watch his back. Those he surrounds himself with are not telling him the truth. He has a chance to write his name among the few good leaders the country has had. He also has the chance to bring an end to the entity called Nigeria. A word they say is enough for the wise.

Before I go, is it also true that a certain bill confining anyone found guilty of criticising the government/president on any social media platform to 7years jail term has passed second reading in your chambers? Your Excellencies need to please come out and clear the air on this otherwise Nigerians will be forced to react and very soon.

As I submit, I will like to ask you few questions in the best interest of our dear country. If Nigeria was your personal property, will you operate Senate and House of Representatives with the high cost involved in servicing the two chambers and their duplication of efforts? Won’t you say that having the two chambers is a loss to your empire? Please use all the powers you have to affect the country positively as posterity will surely judge you.

You can get my data and have me arrested and jailed. You might just make a Mandela out of me.

PoliticsRe: INEC Declines To Register Rival APC- PDP Loses by YEMOYEMI: 5:18pm On Mar 26, 2013
As it is, and as realists and pragmatically sound people cognisant of what evolution entails, we can only hope the APC delivers a platform to enable us get a Buhari, Ribadu, Fashola, Oshiomhole, Utomi, Femi Falana et al into transformational positions rather than what obtains currently where the most transformational offices, that can make Nigeria great, are manned by non-visionary gradualists, mediocrities and defenders of the status quo like GEJ, Sambo, Allison-Madueke, David Mark, Anenih, Adoke Bello et al.

Wonderful analysis by Gbawe. I only have a serious objection to Oshiomole as mentioned above. I lost confidence in him the moment he joined Ngozi Okonjo-Iwealla and Sanusi Lamido claiming that Nigeria will collapse if oil subsidy was removed. I will expect him to come out and tell us he did what he did in error or he was ill-informed. I didn't expect him as a labour man with all the love and support he commands from the people not to tell GEJ and his kitchen cabinet the truth and how the masses feel.
PoliticsRe: PDP - 2015 Is Not Part Of Our Agenda Yet by YEMOYEMI: 1:51pm On Nov 12, 2012
PDP don't need to tell us when they members should start to campaign or declare interest. We are used to their lies and pretense. we are already mobilizing and consulting. This country will be rescued from the evil called PDP by the grace of God.
PoliticsRe: Mark: State Of Origin Should Be Abolished In Nigeria by YEMOYEMI: 8:53am On Oct 23, 2012
State of residence? In a situation where people apply for federal government appointment, the same 'leaders/rulers' will bring quota in allocation slots. The implication of this is that we will have many people who are from LAGOS by the virtue of state of residence. Too many people will now have have to be competing with too few slots. I don't see the workability of state of residence in Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: I Goofed, Businessday Misled Me - GEJ by YEMOYEMI: 7:13am On Oct 03, 2012
It is a big shame on the president of a country not to know what is going on around him. This is the way I see GEJ. Am just thinking, if truly Transparency International rated Nigeria so high, don't we think an official congratulatory message or something close to the presidency to confirm this? I also think that if such letter did not come, it was the responsibility of the presidential medial aide to get across to TI for further confirmation. It is so sad that anyone can come to the president with a newspaper claiming that an average Nigerian is living above $1000 per day and the president will joyfully accept accept it and add it to his achievement in office. GEJ is surrounded by people who are telling him what he wants to hear--lies in order to assume/believe he is the messiah Nigeria was waiting for. As a president of the nation, I would have expected GEJ to know virtually everything that is going on around him rather than waiting to be fed with lies. Show me your friend and I will tell you the kind of person you are. God will save Nigeria.
