Gentlelife50:Now I see why you made the kind of comments you just made up there. You have not been in this country, if you have, you will be aware when the analysis of bitumen and concrete roads were done and it was discovered that concrete last much longer than bitumen. Do you expect the roads they will do now to get sports after 3 years and they start doing the same road again? I am not in the Southeast but the roads that were done with concrete in Lagos in the last how many years have proven to be the best. So, oga. Quality over quantity. |
Let them all test their popularities in the primaries and let the winner get the presidential ticket. No contest, no ticket. Democracy must be allowed to flourish. |
lovediehatelive:It's their way! wanting to pay you an unscheduled visit and expecting you to oblige.....as if the reason you were chasing how was because you had nothing doing. Just ghost her. If and when she wants to see you again, she would learn to give you an advance notice and not just an impromptu visit. |
Gentlelife50:So development should stop just because you cannot afford to buy cement for yourself? Are you okay.? |
The owner of that hotel is under some hypnosis or is not in her right senses. Why would you have people lodge in your hotel and then ask some people in some garment to come burn candles in the hotel where people have come to relax, enjoy themselves and lay their heads? Why do some people even act before they think? Has she tried to step into the shoes of this lodgers and even the staff? I don't want to say what comes to mind before they start saying one is spewing rubbish but we really need to be careful how we do things. Little did she even know that once you give out a place and collects money on business, that place doesn't belong to you for that period and you could even be sued for misbehaving, intrusion or invading of their privacy at that point in time. |
Iyeku:He will end up in APC. Go and write it down |
Na lie! No be the same person. Check the name again, I've spotted the difference as follows: In APM, the name is written in small letters while in NDC, the name is written in capital letters. Check it out if it's not true!🤣🤣 🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃 |
Basic123:He's given his obidients lamba that he was the best governor in anambra and they've swallowed it like zombies. Go and check his followers, you would not find core Anambra indigenes who were resident in Anambra during his reign, only people from other states who have no minds of their own, who became his lovers on sympathetic ground. |
Gunayo:Obidient spotted! You people can't make any meaningful contributions without passing insults. Let's see how NDC will accommodate you people with this mentality. I'm sure you people have not even gotten to your last bus stop. By the time you finish touring all the existing parties in Nigeria, you will rest. I won't even be surprised if you would later seek to join the APC because looking for a back exit rather than staying to resolve issues when it comes is your greatest undoing. |
cremedelacreme:...blindly! |
dozymars:Ha! Ok kwa? We don't want ok o. |
OneCandleAway:NELFUND would not make any meaning to you because you're not in school, neither do you have any child in a tertiary institution. One thing I don't really like is downplaying the efforts just because it doesn't benefit you directly. But those benefitting from the intervention will not trivialize the policy. And saying that one needs a matric number to qualify! I doubt if you know the meaning of what you just said. The only thing that confirms that you got an admission is the matric number allocated to you. Or do you intend to go and apply for it when you're not in school and you expect an approval? |
OneCandleAway:I get your point. But, remember that security is a civic duty as well. The war can not be won except with collaboration of the locals. This is the reason state police should have been activated before now. But the funny thing is that the States that need this mostly are not even interested just because of the salaries and emoluments they would pay them. That stance has also not changed even as their monthly fiscal allocation have improved. In addition, religion is another thing that has made the security worse. We all serve the same God but that doesn't mean we should shield our friends and members of our churches and mosques whom we know are into all these things. Human capital development, with the right infrastructure in place, that would come naturally because it would result in creation of direct and indirect employment. Already, there's intervention in agriculture and the states are also empowered to invest in their people. Interestingly, while some states are working on assisting their people economically and building schools and employing qualified teachers, some states are spending that money on things like pilgrimage, religion and other things. They all produce different results. But then, we all look the same but our needs are different. Lastly, the NELFUND introduced by the federal government is working and helping families in the area of education and it has nothing to do with knowing people or having any connections in the government. It is left for the states to look inwards, know the greatest challenges of their own people and solve it. Also, remember that the local government now get their allocation directly from the Federal government. They should all play their role to ensure that their people are okay. President Tinubu will not come to your domain to come and give you handouts. The government cannot make you rich, it will only provide for you and enabling environment to thrive. |
Lordhanzo:You are just here attacking Atiku, Obj, and others, even the late Buhari you didn't spare. How's Obi's decision to leave the ADC in furtherance of his political aspirations the concerns of all those you mentioned there? Is it now their responsibilities to make decisions for him or tell him what and how to plan himself? Obi went to join a party he was clearly told before joining that zoning was not on the table, yet he chose to join and now complaining that they refused to zone. No be juju be that? You join a party only to tell them the kind of primaries you want! What exactly is your value that you now have to start dictating to them what you want? What value have you even brought to the table? It's a party and joining or leaving is within your rights as guaranteed in the Nigerian Constitution. There's nothing as basic as paying your dues and building people as you move up the ladder of politics. Paying your dues is the support you give several other politicians in ensuring their victory at the polls while building people is putting people in position and ensuring their growth and while prospering on your wings as you maintain the leadership while your reign in political position lasts. Failure to do any of these will result in you standing alone in the cold when you need viable support and when it matters most. The organic support you gain from the masses is merely sympathetic and as such, can not get you where you want politically. So, I suggest that he sits back, reflect and do a self-audit, to see if he actually stands a chance or not before proceeding. Except, of course, he just enjoys the cheering by his obidients or just want to remain in the limelight. |
Tochukwu, why! Must you bring shame to your family by being in the news for the wrong reasons? |
Cleanmouth:You can hardly blame Fashola. He was equally an active minister but he just couldn't achieve much because the head of government at the time never prioritize infrastructure and as such, much funds were not made available for him. The priority or legacy of any Head of government will determine the sector that would enjoy the attention...and as far as Tinubu is concerned, he believes if the roads are good, economy would improve, money would circulate better and the people's movement would not be impeded. So, he funds road projects and the minister, being an active civil engineer himself, followed up closely to ensure delivery. |
Flangelo12:Because good news gives them diarrhea |
Reference:Very correct! But that would have been easier if the so called opposition had a direction. But up till today, even as elections are just a few months away, the directions are non-existent. Instead, they even found it pretty difficult, out of greed and distractions, to maintain decorum within themselves. |
Powerbandooo:I disagree. If you live in a place like Ibadan or Kwara, that 100k is enough to sustain a bachelor for the month, feeding and rent inclusive. But if you're married with, at least 2 kids, I don't know how you can do that. Truly, rent is paid yearly but the least accomodation in a modest Lagos environment now goes for a minimum of 200k per annum, and that must be on the bush-like suburb. Not even when Lagos landlords have started the madness of increasing rent every year. |
helinues:One cold bottle 🍾🍺 for you. |
I love criticism, objective ones and it's within every one's right to complain, protest or criticize. However, criticising and castigating without making suggestions for a solution is all entertainment. Someone, who's impact we could not feel in 8 years when in position is here complaining and whipping sentiment over the state of the economy and all of that, but never stated what he would do differently........... can't be taken seriously. |
Now I can see some people blaming the government. Some even went as far as blaming tinubu for lack of maintenance of that restroom. That is quite myopic and unintelligent. Tinubu is the president at the federal level. Truly this is a federal University. But the questions you should ask yourself are as follows: does the school have administrative department with junior staff and senior staff all collecting salary at the end of the month and even promotion? Is school funded and get allocation from the Federal government for maintenance? Does the school have top management staff who meets periodically to take decisions and get updates on everything that goes on in the institution? If the answers to all the above are yes, then why encourages people to abdicate their responsibilities and instead of blaming them you are blaming the government at the federal level. Are you okay? Is tinubu coming to the institution from Abuja to go and be checking their restrooms? You cannot even blame the state government because that responsibility has been delegated! Some people should think before the comment on public forums such as this. |
Peaceful Powerful Abundant Creative et al |
It's now I see why some people make some comments on this platform. The level of education and understanding of most people here is ridiculously low. How on earth would you discourage a course as vibrant as computer engineering? Op, pls grab the opportunity. It will give you a solid foundation for tech because you will learn so many things like programming languages, maintain software and hardwares, write programs for systems and you will also learn how to solve complex maths and business problems. Pls don't allow the opportunity to slip away. |
Themandator:It is now 60k to correct date of birth on NIN. That is if the price hasn't moved again because I think it started from N9,000 or so |
I'm not surprised. I'm only concerned that they can't stop bringing international shame to their families and generations. The Indian government should keep catching them and punishing them according to the dictates of their policies on drug peddling because I'm now convinced that they can never change. Meanwhile, their leaders will not see this one to condemn. |
Tenses:Always known that you people must have stomach disorders on this news.....and Bianca doesn't even send you. You want every citizen represented but this appointment is not part of representation? All your senators and members of the federal house of reps are not representation? Una go wail tire! 5 more years to go. |
Beautifulday:You are not wrong about Atiku. as those are some of the things counting against him. As a vice president for 8 years, he was supposed to have had significant impact in the north, even in Adamawa, his influence is quite limited. As a matter of fact, I doubt if he has an interest in whatever happens in his state, forgetting that the organic support that comes from home state can never be compared to anywhere else. At least, we can all see today that majority in the South East are fully behind Peter Obi. Also, all the politicians who aspire to grow or remain in politics are supposed to take the growth of associates as priority. These are the same associates that will ensure your success when their help is needed. And it's one of those things that have helped Tinubu in Lagos. On consultation, don't you think Atiku must have consulted widely within the party for them to consider him as a potential candidate (not minding his age and the fact that he already lost out many times). And on the court matters, the fact that he wasn't appearing personally in court doesn't mean he wasn't suing in court. He has a legal team that went as far as visiting Chicago State University in the US during that period. Lastly, it's just what it is, politicians will always be politicians. |
ajalawole:Dey play, chief historian. Whether you like it or not, the property does not belong to you and you can only stay there on the terms of the owners. The fact that the real owner is dead does not make you the new owner. I will only advise that you comply or you relocate as the case may be. Pele o, chief historian. |
Beautifulday:I am not Atiku but he has said that many times, even when he appeared on the television just recently. The only reason you see Atiku in ADC and going around consulting and even attended Ibadan conference is because of his interest to run. Otherwise, he would have retired from politics and relocated back to Dubai. Also, he backed out of court against Buhari because he lost out at the supreme court. Where else would he have gone if not back to his base (Dubai). Even when he dragged with Tinubu, he knew he lost at the polls and then started calling for his academic certificates. He lost again and still called for his transcript and when he lost, he relocated as usual. That is to tell you that he would not just relocate under normal circumstance, and as such, he would not just back out of the race except something fundamental happens that makes him to lose an interest. But for now a seriously warming up for the primary elections. So I guess you should stop building castles in the air expecting Atiku to back down. Just go and prepare because many gladiators are in the race and the ticket is only given to whoever wins. |
sleek214:Honestly, I see you as one of the smartest on this platform. All your points are valid. In addition, I think I like Kwankwaso's political calculations and strategies more than that of Obi. Obi has taken some unnecessary steps that's now counting against him, and I had expected that he would forsee all of that. Now he's a bit withdrawn primarily because reality is beginning hit at him. It is not as if the north cannot go all out for you but you must have been together for a very long time and they must have trusted you well enough to cast their votes for you, especially in a contest where they also have interest and are qualified to run just like you. Kwankwaso joining the party is obviously for 2 reasons. 1 is to disown his godson who defected to the ruling party and 2 is to expand his support base. Majority of his supporters from NNPP, I am sure went with him to ADC while he would also get some supporters from the within the ADC, which happens to be a conglomerate of opposition parties coming together as one. Remember that politics is a game of numbers. This is where obi was supposed to be strategic rather than watching his supporters gaslight others and looking the other way. |
Beautifulday:And this is where it gets messy! A very rich man would always buy his way through. Atiku is a rich man and a real spender. I don't know about Kwankwaso but Obi no dey spend. If Peter Obi will cooperate, there are slight chances. But one major downside is that a greater percentage of the obidients don't even see the voters card as their power to change the narrative. Ask some of them for their voter's card and they tell you they don't have. Yet they come online to rant and want to make a change. Another downside is that many of the obidients will dance to the tone of Atiku because of handouts. Never say it cannot happen, it has happened before. Lastly, Atiku will never back out of the race. |
