Interesting ! ! |
This guy is part of the reason why we do not have a formidable opponent in Nigeria - a one man godfather. ACN will do much better without Tinubu and this is the truth. I think he should retire and take the bad seat. |
henry101:I would think these self-acclaimed luminaries have been in Nigeria long enough to be familiar with the acronym P-D-P . They know what it represent and they know what that shameful endorsement stands for, this is where morality and personal ethics should take a stand. My stand is - i respect what they did in theory but it is an endorsement of PDP in practice and i fail to see the rationale for advocating PDP. |
Kobojunkie:The concept of wealth is a real problem here. Nigerians and Africans at large use the wealth conception in terms of paper money and that's a real problem, it shows how simple we truly are. And why should government provide electricity and jobs in the first place? When all that is needed is privatize electricity and try to create a business environment to enhance employment by PRIVATE sectors. You spend no money in doing this, government actually gain from doing them - so don't tell me corruption is the problem. It is not in the place of government to provide private goods to individuals but public good like road and maybe prioritize education. All that is needed in Nigeria is taking the power back to the people - government have no business selling oil, give the well back to the people and impose resource tax - limited government is the only way out for Africa not a social order which we have deeply skidded into. Socialism is a curse - it places an entitlement on the people. There is no such thing as "our money" and corruption is not the problem with Africa but stupidity. |
I respect Nollywood's right to voice support for any candidate or party - In theory these folks are doing the right thing but in practice they have to justify the decision since they consider themselves worthy of endorsing someone. Thence when Nnaji said "i want him back" she should as well tell us what he has done so far to call for his return and when the dwarf -like girl said "i just need someone i can trust" she should tell us why we should trust the same PDP that destroyed our country for 12 years. These are clowns and puppets controlled shrewdly to put up this display. I decidedly refuse to see the motive behind this if not selfish interest- not that PDP has done some great stuff lately to warrant this blessing. |
The actor behind "Team Dele Momodu" is a person of subnormal intelligence, he framed the debate as a class warfare hence calling for socializing of power. With worlds like "zone lighting" and going against privatization, even went as far as calling to question the integrity of Naeto C's mom. On the specific - privatization is the only way out. Full privatization i mean and government can subsidized but cannot provide electricity- that's the lucid fact- in the debate i mentioned this to both of them on Twitter. Naeto C was rather reluctant to go down the class route where anyone who propose privatization will be considered a classist that doesn't take into account the poor. |
Although i do not subscribe to this " Ravaging Of Africa" line, but words cannot make plain what IMF and World bank did to Africa. The problem with Africa is not and will never be corruption. |
Politicians will always get away with gestures because they know they are dealing with a class of people who are yet to grok what the they were employed to do. This is a simple logic - if you are employed to perform a set of duties and you fail in the task you will be sacked - if you get it right you might receive a handshake. You cannot get that handshake for giving gesture that suggest you are getting it right - I have already said it - until we have at least a bourgeoisie or what i call historic-bloc to put these folks in check - we are just dreaming. Theoretically, democracy has two features which is 1) Electoral system - which determines how you obtain power and (2) checks and balances - which goes in for how you use power. We have focused too much on the first and gave little attention to the latter. On the topic - Is this the breaking news? and some goon said "The PDP led government deserve some praise for this". I am incline to believe this is a gesture for April poll and it pains me to see folks caught in this lose trap. Jonathan does not have the ability to do the right thing - |
I cannot characterize David Cameron's excitement for this war - The Arab League has been taken for a ride. The wise will always control the rest. It is interesting to know that British Prime minister traveled to the middle east two weeks back with 8 arm dealers to sell arms to undemocratic regimes since the present climate calls for more arming. The weapons in Libya were sold by Britain - this Gadafi has been seating there for 42 years and Britain has been selling arms to him - they sold millions pounds worth last year - when you sell arms to a dictator what do you expect of him? People have to accept that self interest is the only motivating force driving states actions - no country will get involved if there is nothing in for them. The Arab league are bunch of old fools who can't read properly. The UN resolution actually declared war in paragraph 4 and 6 in an indirect manner. . . The atrocities in Saudi is worst to Libya, what about Darfur genocide and Bahrain. . . |
We need infrastructure, electricity, clean water, good roads, and job opportunities and you are here talking about airports. What is wrong with GEJ? |
Jonathan is scared if not i see no reason why he should be selective - a presidential aspirant should take all and any opportunity given to talk about his programs. very disappointed in him and his wife. |
. . . |
Jonathan is scared - simple. There is no need to twist things here. |
lionness:LOOOOOOOOOOL. a cow-like wife. This poster is really angry. It is glaring that Jonathan is frightened chicken - a Phd holder that can not handle a common CNN interview done in the convenience his office will have to come under debate scrutiny in Nigeria. . no he can't, he is not bold enough. YOU should see how little Isha Sesay humiliated him on a CNN interview. |
Buhari is so wrong on this one - Did he really say that? Well i am not surprised. The entire ruling class are so disconnected with reality - i think the redeemer is not yet on sight. |
Why do we need airport in 36 states? why build an airport where there are no potential air travelers - Lagos international airport is the worst i have employed thus far and Jonathan talks about building 36 new ones. . In my opinion this kind of talk mirrors the main issue with the country today - we build without good foundation - roads that needs renovation in 2 yrs - schools that won't function properly - who are we deceiving? It is better to build one good road than 100 bad ones - we do things for people's approval not necessarily because it is right. Jonathan is totally uninformed about what is going on - as much as i like his humble nature, i do not see any special qualities in him - his rhetoric has been itching so far. . |
what a joke. |
Tinubu is single handedly pulling down ACN - i have said it before" the idea of one man controlling a political party is nonsense". ACN is ever worst to PDP given THE conduct in opposition. Tinubu should take the backseat and watch things - Ribadu would likely gain more grand if Tinubu get off his back. |
What's she on about? i don't seem to get her message. Can someone please tell what the women for change initiative stands for . . jet around preaching a drivel and message-less gospel. Good for us though. We had Turai and Nigerians systematically created a monster off her now this is the real deal. I don't remember Turai fooling herself in this manner. The comic relief will soon turn a national disgrace. |
Perhaps Prof. Pat Utomi should have gone a bit further to explain where he got the figure from - it does seem like a round figure to me. It is not enough to say Goodluck is spending 100 mill without lucidly explaining how he arrived at the conclusion . , |
This is good . . . i hope it becomes a tradition. |
Bola Tinubu is the problem with AC . . |
We are in a very deep mess, Norway in my opinion is not a good case when discussing Nigeria. We should not resort to social order just because we have oil . . . we should forget about this oil and even stop the idea of excess crude account . . . my opinion. To do that we should first sign the resources to the owners and create a resource tax system where we can systematically regulate and impose a resource tax of say, 70%. This will not only stop the ND crisis but kick start a virile capitalist model , . forget oil. Peasants should be farmers - traders should be traders and forget about those oil nonsense. Then we can start a real tax system and there would be an incentive structure to enforce policies that helps small business and exporters - because we need their tax. The oil has been a curse thus far. We need to create an active "middle class" that can hold the govt in account. . . . |
USA is a self interested empire- an uprising in Saudi would mean no oil . , they can't stand that. |
This is plain joke - which means the hamster has a right to life that was violated. what a joke. . . wild liberals again. |
Why don't you save yourself the explanation Mr. Jonathan and privatize the power sector ? it has been proven over again that government cannot manage itself talk-less of running a whole sector- privatize this and step aside. |
Something is missing on the list - where is Ambrose alli university, Ekpoma . I think it must be an error to exclude such a great school |
I simply don't trust people who talk in extreme terms - show me where stolen wealth is praised in Nigeria. If you are in the circle of those who express approval for stolen wealth then you have a problem - to equate your problem as a Nigeria problem is not fair. We have Ben Murray-Bruce who is a household name in Nigeria, Dora Akunyili who was loved because of her works - Nuru Ribadu and the rest of them. Tell me who's praising the criminals like Bode George, James Ibori or Lucky Igbinedion. Maybe you define praise in the context of those the holder of the wealth pay to sing praises who are effectively performing a function they were paid to do. Nigerians like to blame - not praise stolen wealth holders. Look at our schools, our roads, electricity and everything while the politicians are up there eating our money - this is the nagging line that keeps coming up in every serious conversations. I have been on this forum for quite sometime and i am yet to come across a serious conversation where a looter is regarded. |
A coup-ist. |
What polls ? in Nigeria - - - LOOOOOOOL |
This was someone who started the coup sequence that ended with the death of Abacha - not to mention he overthrew a democratically elected government back in the 80s - Is this the best Nigeria can offer ? a worthless material- how do i differentiate him from IBB - ok, he is worst IBB overthrew a military govt. |
He was a great man. |
