Family / My Day Today! by yewaman: 2:42pm On Feb 05, 2009
I hope am in the right section!

Today started on a high note for me, but towards the end of the day, it ended on a low not because, I went with a friend of mine to see a lady copper who volunteers her time to teach ‘inmates’ at a remand home here in Ogun State, and it shook me to my bones, who some of us instead of bellyaching about the government is not doing, give their time in care of others, without expecting to be paid.
While there noticed that the young men in the home, live more or less like prisoners, am not sure whether they are thought any trade or even have access to some little education, it occurred to me that, like everything NIGERIAN, the Government establish institutions without proper funding for these institution.
Remand Homes are established for correctional purposes not training grounds for Criminals of the Future, the Government cant do it all, Parents also have the tasks of bringing the number of children they can give LOVE and CARE and the best education within their limited resources.
May God help us.

Properties / Re: Who Repairs A Damaged Apartment? Landlord or Tenant? by yewaman: 3:42pm On Feb 02, 2009
When I used to leave in Lagos, the Landlolrd did nt take responsibilty for any repairs in the house, the tenants fixed everything within their flats, no more no less.

The Landlords in these part of the world are not responsive.
