Well , I don't know how old most of the people reading this posting were when Majek Fashek as the rave of the moment in the 90s traveled to New York. When he got there he became disappointed that on returning to Nigeria, he released a record "Majek Fashek in New York". That record said so many things. He said before he travelled, he thought America is Paradise on Earth but on getting there what he saw was confusion, beggars and so many things. Having released that record he should not have gone back again, that was the mistake that ruined him.

Yea, it debuted in 1988 but it didn’t catch on till the 90s. By the mid 90s, Nigerian parents were feeding their kids indomie. The Indomie generation upper limit should be about 20-22y so basically generation Z depending on which stat you use.

The Indomie generation have little to no reference pre 2000s. Nigeria and the world changed a lot after the 90s. I think most older generation Nigerians feel some topics need a good pre 2000s knowledge. E.g. Indomie generation don’t know a Nigeria under the military rule, can’t remember Nigeria without the internet, cell phones, writing and posting letters etc.

Also, it’s just the typical generational war. Previous generations always bash their successors. For instance, on a global scale millennials are being shit on constantly by previous generations.
