WebmastersProtect Your Web Browsers From Social Engineering Attacks, Abdulrazaq Ameen by Yinksy09(op): 6:42pm On Aug 11, 2020
One of the most important technologies ever invented and still very much impactful in the daily lives of countless individuals is the internet. Web browsers serve as the software gateway through which users can access this resource and request/receive information. Hence, billions of people around the world use web browsers in order to access the internet, with Google Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, and Firefox being some of the most popular options.

As usual, this state of affairs has not been lost on cybercriminals as statista reports that web browsers constitute the second most commonly exploited applications worldwide as of the third quarter of 2019.

During the survey period, it was found that browsers accounted for 13.47 percent of exploit attacks. Hence, this series seeks to explore the ways malicious actors use browser attacks in conjunction with social engineering.

Web browser attacks remains one of the most popular channel cyber hackers inflict damage. Most browsers hold important information such as credit card details, email IDs, passwords and more. Browser attacks can be performed by cyber criminals in different ways. Most times, they use social engineering that leads users to take actions which can begin an attack. It is a very common method of attack. For example users might be persuaded to take an action through links in phishing email. This takes them to their browser page where malware is downloaded on the device.

TravelIbom Air Expands Fleet With The Delivery Of 5th CRJ-900 by Yinksy09(op): 9:16am On Aug 01, 2020
Ibom Air, a Nigeria airline owned by the Akwa Ibom government has taken delivery of the fifth Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft.

The aircraft, with registration number 5N-BXO, arrived Lagos from Calgary, Canada at 00:05 am local time, Saturday morning, (1st August, 2020).

In a statement, the airline’s management said, after delays occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic, Ibom Air is pleased to finally receive it’s fifth Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft, the second of the two additional aircraft purchased in December 2019.

With the arrival of this aircraft, our modern and efficient fleet grows to five aircraft and Ibom Air continues to operate the youngest fleet amongst Nigeria’s airlines. This fleet strategy is in line with our vision to be a world-class African regional airline.

A key benefit of Ibom Air’s very modern fleet of Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft is that they all come factory-fitted with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters. HEPA filters are high-intensity filters that do not just filter dust, but effectively capture greater than 99.97% of the airborne microbes in cabin air, including microscopic particles such as bacteria and viruses.

Cabin air in HEPA equipped aircraft generally pass through the filters every 2-3 minutes, removing contaminants and greatly enhancing the quality of air in the cabin.

Music/RadioFacebook Officially Launches Licensed Music Videos In Threat To Youtube by Yinksy09(op):
Facebook is officially launching licensed music videos across its platforms in the U.S. The social media giant is taking a swing at YouTube by bringing officially licensed music videos to its platform. The videos will also be monetized by advertising. The launch of Facebook music videos is seen as a significant challenge to YouTube as it connects artist with fans and comes with amazing features including promotion of new releases and raise money for important causes through the donate button in Live and Stories.

Facebook is in partnership with top labels, including Sony Music, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Merlin, BMG, Kobalt and other independents. The changes starting this weekend allows users on Facebook to discover, watch and share music videos from a wide range of artists, including, Nicki Minaj, Blake Shelton, Bob Marley, Diplo, Elton John and the Jonas Brothers.

Facebook plans to offer exclusive music video content and premieres from artists and popular personalities including Lele Pons and J. Balvin. The company has tried to become a bigger player in digital video, which can be a lucrative source of ad revenue and also keep users engaged on its platform for longer. In 2017, faceebook watch was introduced.

Earlier this year, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki said a goal for 2020 is to “partner with the music industry to grow revenue, break new artists and promote music.” In 2019, the company paid out more than $3 billion to the music industry through ads and subscriptions. (The company also has a music streaming service called YouTube Music with free and paid options.)

“Facebook clearly needs content that advertisers are comfortable with and will purchase advertising against, and some way to keep users on the platform other than provoking outrage,” said Jim Nail, principal analyst at research firm Forrester. Music videos could offer a way to address both those issues.

Facebook is known to borrow features and concepts from rivals, including disappearing posts, a dating tool, and a marketplace to buy and sell items.
The social network’s announcement comes days after CEO Mark Zuckerberg appeared before Congress along with the CEOs of Apple (AAPL), Amazon (AMZN), and Google parent company Alphabet, where they faced tough questions about their competitive tactics.

HealthGovernor Sanwo-olu Commissions 1st Indigenous Medical Face Mask Factory In Lagos by Yinksy09(op): 11:52pm On Jul 31, 2020
His excellency Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on thursday commissioned the first indigenous medically graded face mask manufacturing factory, O-Care Medical Face Mask Factory in Lagos state.

The manufacturing factory with the capacity to produce 240,000 face masks daily is located at Odofin park estate, Amuwo Odofin Local Government area of the state.

According to the governor, the manufacturing of the face masks attested to the “can-do” spirit of Nigerians, while lauding the manufacturer for taking such commendable step.

The Governor said a Nigerian company, Transgreen Nigeria Ltd. started the production of the mask in response to shortage of medical devices due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He said that his administration was committed to the project and that was why it sent delegates to the factory twice in the last two months since the idea started. This is a strategic production and we as a state government will be supporting it, it is a confirmation of what we stand for, creating a favourable atmosphere for business to do well.

While commending the company for bringing the very first production line in medical devices, Sanwo-Olu assured that his government would support the endeavour.

To support this project, the state Governor placed the first order for 250,000 face masks, assuring further that the government would support the company to ensure the face masks were affordable and accessible to the people.
