I no know wetin Oga Agba see oh but I was/am grateful for his challenge to my opinion. He made me adjust my spreadsheet to factor in one off FX gains and after doing that I saw that there was a clear dichotomy in banking stocks.

This dichotomy made me dump my FCMB and add more GTB and some UBA.

To be honest I almost dont want the stocks to rally just yet. I am looking to raise some more cash to buy even more. I firmly believe that too much of a good thing is a great thing

P.S Abeg how my grand mother go dey say she be my pikin
Boss I beg sir oo 😁
I be your pikin o.

Glad you're doing your homework well before staking your funds on some of these stocks anyway. cool

Ha! My Madam at the top. No be so oh.

My excitement for GTCO is not short term. Right now I believe the currency devaluation is well over done. Very soon the benefits of the painful reforms would start to kick in and I want to holding when all the big ogas come and buy.

Nigeria companies are being priced as though we are a war torn Nation and that doesn't make sense.

P.S I am not a Tinubu guy and the better times may not even come in his administration
My big boss, you were right about the pricing of our stocks, it doesn't make sense seeing them at ridiculous prices honestly.... especially when we consider the great revenues being made despite the harsh operating environment...

....but it is what it is for now, FA aside, pls be cautious and always seek 2nd opinion from the experts who's being on ground for long so you can monitor the market to pick at very good bargain prices.

Not saying your GT call is/was wrong o, after-all it didn't obey Oga Agba's southward call, he has not been able to enter since he exited grin .......but just some words of caution from your pikin in the biz. smiley

You're welcome sir.

I am surprised he is sounding so 🐂 bullish. The Noaa of before was more cautious.
More of big boss self.
I've been hearing or reading about his moniker from some Ogas here for quite a long time.

But, I'll just say he should be cautious of Nigerian banks, especially with these POs and RI stuffs.......though pumping possibility is there sha.

Oh! I've always known Total and Total E&P and they do both upstream and downstream. Is this not the same as the one listed on NSE? I'm confused.
Its the downstream sector that was listed on NGX.
Yes. TOTAL is both upstream and downstream

I’m guessing unlike banks, insurance can pay dividends from FX gain, correct? Although it’s mostly cash and bonds as at dec 23
That's Cornerstone right?
- I doubt if it's equally allowed for insurance to pay dividends from FX gains...
* HOWEVER some of these insurance companies are now performing better unlike before. Some making additional revenues from subsidiaries and investment incomes.

CORNERST for instance has been improving over the years......came out of zero div payment, paid 5k in 2021 fye, 6k in 2022 fye (at least no known FX gains then), and now paying 16k for 2023 fye..... that's +60% increase in dividend payout for the last FY.

This is a good development I Blvd.
I think aparty towards the sector as well as past experiences of some investors are still responsible for the unpopularity.

**Modified**
Dividends
Maybe they paid out of FX gain, I'm not sure but will try and clarify this.

I only gave you like 'worse-case' scenario based on TA for ONLY DS
Other factors will definitely come into play for example a general bull

Edited: I took a look again using the stochastic which is a powerful short-term 'buy' indicator
It shows that it might have rejected the support at 38-40 price region on the daily. However, the weekly is not yet in the buying zone
This is better and more like it.
Thanks so much sir.
Pls make una dey help us check when indicators started showing likely rally or reversal up . 🙏😊

Mankind2024:
If we rely solely on PA Agba's charts to dictate our investment decisions in the NGX, we risk missing out on opportunities unless a pandemic, military coup, or natural disaster occurs, which no one can predict except God.
Exactly!
Whosoever will rely on Oga Agba's charts alone won't even trade in this our market at all because fear alone won't allow him buy anything. Lol.

Q3 rain/storm Lol
Hopefully, 25 should be a good support grin
Oga Agba, while nothing is impossible in this market, I doubt if DS can get to 25 again....
* Reason I said this is that DS has been generating good revenues....only shortcomings was/is the FX losses
* If we look beyond FX loss, DS isn't doing bad at all
* 2ndly, if DS fair value stood at 45 when it was trading at 16/17, then, I don't think the fair value by now should be less than 60 (assume we remove the FX loss)
*...and this is not even factoring in the proposed merger yet.

Lol. This is my amateur and quark opinion anyway.
* CP you don ignore your duty post o. smiley

Hi keep up the good work, what do you think about buying Dangsugar at this current level? it has lost about of its value from its high, and its formed a double bottom at this level, you think its good to pack it up at this level?
This Sugar issue eehhnn
Honestly, a part of my mail to Oga BBM has to do with NS too...
From the look of things, it's looking like bottoming but my concern is what the 2nd Quarter result will bring....... Although, whatever it is, the share price will likely not be battered that much again.....because it looks factored in already....

I think my TA/FA Ogas should be in better position to advice us much better.

However, if you're for long term you may buy some at CP, then watch it's movement from now till Q2 is released OR till we see it bottom OR see ray of light from it's end, then you buy more.
