SOLUDO created the middle class through the banking mergers which expanded credit especially consumers loans which is crucial to the middle class.

These loans were only available to bankers in the past. Those new cars these young guys drive are a consumer loans.

The primary reason why GEJ failed was that they could not manage efficiently the huge inflows due to the naira substitution. That was why the currency never strengthened and the country did not amass a large foreign reserve like their producing counterparts. The money which should have have been a blessing now resembled hot money

obasanjo never achieved any miracle per se. He was just very stingy with the income because he felt the States would fritter it away hence thats why the country was able the amass a large reserve

That's why when Yar'adua became president, he reversed the stingy policy which really was unjust

It was not due to the excellent manage of the reserves
Nice analysis.

I laughed at the stingy policy. Well I think that's the way to go

I totally agree with your writeup. The monthly allocation need to be dollarised.

Funny enough , Soludo tried to implement it. You know he is a word class economist but a theoretical banker.

Unfortunate, the governors cried out that the policy was strange to them and Yar'adua had it stopped.

Such a policy would ended the excess money supply and its attendant mop ups which push up ending rates which has a devastating effect on 3 major sectors : Manufacturing, real estate and agriculture.

Imagine how large the property market would be if lending rates were 7%, consumers will be taking up mortgages left right and center leading to a property boom.

Money will leave the money markets i.e banks and flow int the capital markets i.e stock market enabling it reach new peaks

Iran despite sanctions, bad economic policies and a fascist Islamic regime has a stockmarket value of over $150bn

The present CBN governor is not dynamic The country needs a Soludo but with a good understanding of banking

Dangote asked how can agriculture boom with ending rates of 20%?
Thats the difference i keep saying it daily , times without no, i dare anyone to challenge me. SOLUDO is far BETTER than that glorified HAVARD ECONOMIST.

OP the Naira will only fall to that level if we make the mistake of allowing the current government to continue for another 12 months.
For sure.

My prediction on this thread two weeks ago coming to pass...

https://www.nairaland.com/2171815/danger-come-naira-devaluation#31171994

Ymodulus:
I believe the devaluation of the naira will lead to a chain of reactions, many of which may not have the intended results. For a largely monolithic-economy, like ours (Nigeria), the expectation that a devalued naira will drive export of local products, which do not exist in the required volume for now, will create additional burden on the populace. When you juxtapose the consequence of an inflation induced policy on an economy, nay the people who do not possess a corresponding purchasing power, by reason of unemployment, the consequences are better imagined than experienced.

No doubt there is the expectation that the government’s revenue, in terms of naira will move up, because of the wide exchange rate disparity between the dollar and the local currency. However, the point must be made that this expectation may be unrealisable of two variables- the falling oil prices and lower crude production aggregate.

You might say Ymodulus Is there any escape-route?

Certainly, but the question remains if Nigerians have been sufficiently sensitized to brace for this situation. In the developed nation’s when currencies are devalued, it is to encourage exports, because the prices of local products serve as an incentive and a toast for foreign buyers. In the process, they earn foreign exchange, increase production and create additional jobs. Unfortunately, that is not the position with Nigeria. Another issue would be that Nigeria will have greater difficulty in paying its external debts, which are on a growing trajectory. Earning less foreign exchange in the face of growing external debts, is an ill-wind that blows no one good.

I had said earlier on, once on this forum where i cant recall that the sack of Sanusi a Veteran Banker and the Imposition of Zenith Bank Ex MD. Emiefele Godwin is a big mistake. I have never liked Zenith bank cause of their wrong banking policy and ideology and i knew that a man such as godwin coming to the apex seat of the banking sector will pose a problem, but some nairalanders here called me an APC fanatic, i hope they can now learn as its happening. Lastly I see the naira being devalued to official rate of N220 by May 1st, as long as the CBN substitution of the naira allocations for dollar is not STOPED.

Mark my words the naira would be at a rate of N220 officially by May 1st.

@Ymodulus, pls I would appreciate it if you can help me with this issue, sorry it's not an Alibaba issue but Aliexpress; I have bought and receive items from Aliexpress before but my problem now it, I want to buy some jeweleries from different sellers how to do consolidate these items into one package for shipping, cos down here at the NIPOST office they charge me N500 for each package I receive and it's not funny.

so pls how can combine all of these items I want to order from different sellers, there are like 10 items and their combined weight won't be up to 1 Kg. any advice will be highly appreciated.
thanks
Its long since I answered a question like this or on this section. Well do you stat in Lagos? If yes. Then just use an agent. If no.

Get a trusted Chinese seller, then always use your trysted Chinese seller address to send all your goods after it is done, ask your seller to send the goods to Nigeria. Via a postal service.

Note!!!!: do not forget to always tip your trusted Chinese seller ( I mean bribe him to make him happy. Some form of appreciation )

Christianity EtcRe: Challenge Go All Atheists, Agnostics, Deists And Liberals And Freethinkers by Ymodulus: 5:57pm On Mar 15, 2015
The one area were I have thought Jesus possibly made a "mistake" was the instance with the fig tree. Jesus was expecting to find figs but when he made it to the tree there were no figs. Of course there are the parallels that can be made concerning Israel. However, form the text it is possible to infer that Jesus "missed it."

18 In the morning, as he was returning to the city, he became hungry. 19 And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.

Now if Jesus never made a factual mistake and was fully walking in his omniscience here on earth we should assume he would have already known that the tree had no figs and therefore would not have approached it......right?

Ma / Sir,

I think if you want to do that, you just have to get people who are ready to help you sell as it will be difficult for we to do that yourself based on the fact we can't really come to conclusion on pricing scheme.

How I carry out business is different from how others do. I believe in the principle of minimal profit but large quantity, in effect slashing down the market pre, creating a name, become the boss and get the monopoly. It might surprise you to know that when the shoes comes in, I plan selling mine with a gain of #1000 on konga and #600 in wholesale. And since its 200pcs I plan going for personally. I believe I can finish it within 2 weeks. Give take. But now its my personal quantity, there will be motivation but for you are you ready to go by this mesthics?

A resounding No I believe will be your answer.
