Somehow got shaken by the missed opportunities (Passfolio made trading below $5 stocks a no go area) and my small losses recently.

However, today I have gotten over it and I bought[b] JDST[/b] today. We see how this will go. For me this is a high conviction trade.

Also, we have no option but to step up, so in line with this my minimum trade is now such that the minimum commission on passfolio will only be 1%. Trading smaller amounts will be moved to the plan B platforms. For these plan B platforms, we may still be able to manually monitor our portfolios on them as long as we have maybe just 5 stocks, or use them for buy and hold (buy and old will only pay us if we can get in at a market bottom, this is a difficult thing?)

WE NEED TO LEARN TO PLAY LIKE THE BIG MONEY
An important rule of the game is keeping our losses small, thinking that every trade must end green is a recipe for disaster.

Okay let us see an example, if your old trade has lost like 80% (just like it is happening now in some stocks) , now your stock gains 40% today, you will be shocked that your cumulative loss will still be around 60% (once you have a loss above 30%, subsequent gain to recover become nearly unachievable or will take too long).

Best loss is around 8%, then our worst loss should be limited to 20 to 30%), I closed a trade yesterday for 12% loss and may still close more any moment from now (painful, but I am happy that aI have avoided big damage to my account). If we know we want to last long in this game, expecially in our part of the world when base currency for global trading is becoming more valuable everyday. losses above 20% should be avoided by all means we can achieve this by: avoid chasing stocks higher, starting thinking of exit when you see 8% 10% 12% 15% 20% losses, market has given you the opportunity to see that that your trade is a failed one: I equally use this to take profits if I see my highest profit % going down 5% 8% 10% I don't need an oracle to tell me that it is time to take my profit and excape.

Avoid big risk, if you have missed recent big gains do not worry, more opportunities will come. Actually I have missed some big gains in low cap stocks due to the new penal commission rate on Passfolio for stocks below $5, now I have no option but to come back to Trove or chaka (just to trade penny stocks Below $5, chosing between these 2 (plan B platforms for me is not easy, but Trove seems to have more penny stocks than chaka, at least my target stock is on Trove but not in chake, so will fund Trove account just for this reason).

So in trading like politics or business no permanent enemy or permanent friend.

I LIKE THE VIBE HAPPENING HERE
The market is showing some industries as easy to trade. Fir example the monkeypox plus sporadic Covid affecting prominent US figure is a catalyst.

Many stocks in the above sector will show up. For example for Marijuana, risk in buying CRON at the moment is small.

FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS INFLATION PLAYERS GETING A WHIPPING- AS A RETAIL TRADER WHAT YOU NEED IS MORE OF TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
I will take a miracle for people playing on the inflation side to see the end of today's trading season without their account getting hit. Equally, I will not flip to short gold stocks immediately, currently is a 50 50 chance.

As at early morning premarket many Gold and oil stocks are down, I am not saying get out, but put you stop in place, once your stock is hit, get out waiting till FED makes their announcement tommorrow will be pure gambling.

Example of a good technical set up this morning is TME.

Things not too bad. However, it is our wish that the type of improvements we have seen in our portfolio in the last 2 months should continue without slowing down.

We need to continue puting quality time to improve our trades. There is need to get into good industries before the news hit the headlines and not too early too. Youtube will not help us. I was shocked by a YouTube with over 110,000 followers and giving stock picks, that he was making big losses and would need to close his trading account and start afresh, is it this the type of people we want to follow!!! Definitely no, GET A TRADING SYSTEM OF YOUR OWN, THAT CAN GENERATE PROFITABLE IDEAS. If you need a good system we can give you a good one (we have many variants like mean reversion , low volatility entries etc) at a very low price!!!

FOR THE US MARKET- THE BEARS SEEMS TO HAVE WEAK DEFENCE AT THE MOMENT
For this morning with commodity prices likely to have a big losing day, the market recovery has a chance to continue and by Wednesday, when the FED give minutes of their meeting the situation will become more clearer.

To make money in this market, we have to continue to be ready to pounce on opportunities and sidetrack minor obstacles. Part of the minor obstacle is this commission thing, and somehow we cannot just depend on one broker. Despite the fact that I am currently happy with Passfolio, the introduction of another charge for penny stocks by the broker has made the platform unfriendly for low priced stocks (those below $5), for this reason I will be shifting my pennystock trading back to chaka (the flat rate commission make more sense compared with another platform that has a minimum charge).

HOW WILL THE NEW WEEK BE
We need to keep a clear head and ascertain true position of things on our own. News can sometimes be confusing, that is why we need a system of our own.

One of the ways we can handle a situation like this is to use a price forecast. Today we give forecast high and low for major futures that will let us take a position, is market likely to fall or continue the bounce. The way to use the forecast is as follows: If actual high for the week/day is lower than the forecast high, market is weak. While if the the actual low is higher than the forecast low, market is improving and vis versa.

We have given forecast for both Nigeria and Global stocks (for the Nigeria side, no debate market is in downtrend, we are only interested in which stock will recover fast than others!).

Going forward, for the US market, after a quick review of the charts and likely game that the Government/Fed will play, the Government will likely protect the Market at list till 2022 ends, one of the compelling narrative is the midterm election coming up in November, the Government will not like to look as incapables of handling the current economic/inflationary challenge.

But, concluding out forecast will guide us, we have use futures so that earlier in the day, before the day we can see the direction of the affected indices.

For good hunting ground: Biotech, Solar/EV battery and marijuana industries are still with some juice to deliver profits.

MARKET IN PIN DROP SILENCE THIS MORNING
Early today is a standstill day in the market as the July CPI report is awaited. Market direction confusing at the moment, but bears have more advantage.

Currently we have a scary trade on in NUGT, if the CPI deteriorates our trade goes up, if not we just monitor our stop loss and get out.

TOO MUCH OPPORTUNITY IN THIS SIDE OF THE MARKET
Scanning for the weekend picked up some energy stocks, the stocks in the sector seems to have been beaten down so much.

Equally the alternative energy sector is now a screaming buy. When I invest in enegy stocks, I always want one with dividend, I will pick KMI, is a slow mover. If it gets to resistance I may sell. Our picks for the solar sector is for our members only and we will be interested in stocks that can move fast. The solar industry will be our focus for some few days and we have selected list of stock we will be looking at Avery day for the next 1 or 2 weeks, we want to go for the jugular here?

Generally, market direction is a little bit confusing, while some are shouting bear and others recovery, a major determinant of tge market direction for next 2 weeks will be the CPI date for Wednesday this week.

It is before that we care to make suggestion to these local apps (sorry that they are local), it may be better for all the 3 of them to merge together and become one entity, as this is one of the ways I can see them competing with the wide gap currently existing between them and Passfolio. It is a terrible thing what these our local apps have become, Trove starred well before, they need to go back to the drawing board to come back with a better formular to gain the confidence of the old and also attract new customers, Having a colorful website is not necessary, How functional is that website in meeting the needs of a serious investor? PASSFOLIO STILL THE BEST PLATFORM FOR RESIDENTS OF NIGERIA TO TRADE GLOBAL STOCKS AS AT 4 AUGUST 2022

Trading 212 would have been a good alternative to Passfolio, but for the more difficult payment mode/International passport requirement (Passfolio require only NIN and you pay in Naira).

But the good thing is that you still retain some of your portfolio in Passfolio.

At the moment (4 August 2022) Trading 212 is not accepting residents of Nigeria

I congratulate you for still beign in the game, this is good, please do wharever is necessary to protect and grow your account, we just need to ensure that our portfolio is making money despite the challenges.

For now, I am voting for Passfolio and after due consideration I will be moving higher to Passpro (seems no option), I am paying for a quality service and I know nothing that is very good comes free.

PASSFOLIO OFFERING MARGIN TRADING IS TEMPTING
As I refused to join the paid service, now passfolio is not allowing stops or immediate transfer of funds? No big deal on this. But this margin side is tempting. However, we want to see more improvement in our profit level before opting for this margin trading offers.

Seems no competitor locally for Passfolio, the gap between Passfolio and our local alternatives is so wide, to me no completion at all. It is like comparing 2nd hand with new dresses. They belong to different classes of Customers? Passfolio for fairly serious trading and the others for beginning/very small account trading. Chaka and Trove need to come up with better quality service/products to let there be some completion for Passfolio.

HOW IS THE MARKET
On my side things are cool. The only issue is that I am enjoying passfolio, but how I wish I have an alternative plaform that will be easy to open account with?

With Passfolio, trading is fun, you press a button, your performance on individual by indidual stocks show up (you don't need to start clicking one by one as on Trove/chaka), you press another button, your cumulative portfolio performance stock by stocks shows up. Another one is that you can equally know what is the percentage of each equity in your portfolio. It is fantastic.

Sorry for not posting too much here, we need to take care of our home front 1st (the subscribers) and equally some work we are doing to make our indicators better plus the fact that we are now making more profits in our portfolio has kept us buzy.
