You are right but you can also request for leave to get a Judicial review in the Federal court.

https://www.migrationlaw.com/application-refused-consider-request-reconsideration/

joo2018:
Hiya,

Yes, we have the right to judicial review.

However, that snapshot refers to IRB decisions, not for Express Entry.

The IRB is the Immigration and Refugee Board.

"The IRB decides, among other responsibilities, who needs refugee protection among the thousands of claimants who come to Canada annually".

Check here, here, here and here.

It should also be noted that you can raise a CSE and appeal to IRCC to re-open your file.

For information purposes. You may apply for Judicial review on refusal. No one will need to by God's grace

Day 2- Got fido line $60cd 6gigs mainly because i intend to use the hotspot alot as i dont think it makes sense for Oga to get a contract since he is soft landing . I will change it to the $45 4gig next month or even something cheaper. They offered $11cad for phone insurance- they replace it if it breaks or is stolen - you can only claim twice a year. So go to shoppers world and ask for Dave if you are in the GTA- they seem to know what they r doing there.

Note- not all fido staff know their onions. The person that attended to my brother said that he needed Canadian ID so i avoided that place and luckily met someone that has experience with newbies like us and Oh lest i forget he gave me $100cad credit free cos i spent almost an hour there cos they had computer issues. So 1st month bill cleared smiles.

Day 3
Got 6mnths free banking with TD 1500cred card, walmart and school runs. The kids have been bored 2 out of 3 of them will start school today so they have something to gist bout over easter break. Class picture is April 3rd. Im glad we came at the right time

It has been overwhelming honestly
Yet to do the school runs.

Long post Alert. Journey started 25th of March
14boxes, 6hand luggage, 2 strollers, 1 car seat.
Let's just say that much load caused unwanted attention.

The Lady that attended to me at the airport was ranting about having 402 as crs as she don dey pool teytey... i sha said try PNP n dont gv up.

Smooth flight, landed Amsterdam 4hrs layover though i was upset cos i got just 1 out of the 2 strollers that I dropped at the entrance of the plane. They apologised that the error was from the person that tagged it. I was however relieved to learn that i would get it with my luggage in Toronto.
My girls used the toilet 10times more than they would ordinarily use it cos of excitement i guess. That was tiring.

Immigration was smooth but we spent almost an hour and 30min to get copr signed and to get SIN. I told the officer my concern about the PR pic and she got extra envelopes to put our new passport pics just incase they reject studio 24s pics . She was very patient n took her time. She asked how much we have and if i had any other dependants.
While we were doing the documentation.... (mmm i was not eavesdropping- i sha dey hear sha)

Scenario 1- student coming in for Masters in microbiology- na so the officer ask am- what is ecoli? I come dey think the FPHRC course. Eeyy i was 'shook' on her behalf- make some ask me wetin be amicus contrahendi now (side eyes)- i go just dey look.
The girl was obviously nervous n suprised and she honestly couldn't give a good answer. He said ok tell me things about microbiology and she was composed and said a few things. The guy drilled her sha

Scenario 2- dude from Asia was landing and the officer asked if he had ever being denied visa or entry into any country- dude said yes. Na so dem open gala shop for the guys head o- but we cant see that in your NOTES. Your notes should show VR but it isnt- it means you misrepresented- dude don dey sweat oo. I felt for him. They sha kept calling each other to hear opinions, God shs sent an angel on the dudes behalf, their boss. He said was it direct EE app or you were sponsored. Dude said he was sponsored. N wetin save him be that ooo.

A nice Lady and her Family randomly walked up to us saying she hasnt seen anyone with so much luggage and they can guess that we are landing and they jst want to wish us luck and welcome us.

Amebo will not let me be great. When the officer said you should forever be grateful to Trudeau and always vote the liberals in na so i burst into laughter which was relief on the dudes behalf though. They were all looking at me like ta lo pe eleyi soro... i quickly adjusted before they ask me why i wrote black eyes in eapr and wrote brown eyes in PPR request form.

Moving on to the secondary inspection place. Dude joined me, hubby n my brothers goods to follow together. It pained me o but he said its easier that way. He was nice and said we are neighbours when he saw my address. We put all 14boxes through the scanner. I declared my grilled escargots and noddles. He noticed plenty medication through the scanner and asked. Do you havemedication. I replied yes. I have a lot of medication for the kids and he said. Ok and said Welcome to Canada. Got that from 4 diff pple.

One of our luggage was missing and i went to the klm counter and they said it was with a courier company as someone took it by mistake and just returned it. Chei i weak. Dejavu all over again. Same scenrion on Delta few years back- dude claimed that he took the box by mistake nd returned it almost empty. Thank God Canadians are nice box was intact.

Got 2 vans outside the airport and headed home.

Got home to a nicely furnished place, thanks to Sade. Great taste and she helped to stock up the fridge with basic items
I have to say. Hosts are a life saver and you dont have to stay with them to feel the huge impact- ate enough hot jollof, chicken n fish before hitting the bed. Jetlag activated - was still tired but got up by 3am

WOW! See Favour
Congratulations

nadina:
Okay, where and how do i start celebrating and thanking God for His faithfulness and favor. I remember prior to my arrival in Calgary, i was discouraged from pursing a career in HR, as not being a lucrative career with little or no job opportunities in Canada. I was determined to follow my passion and dreams of becoming a world renowned Human Resources Consultant and i wasn't backing out.

On arrival in Calgary, i took advantage of one of the Government bridging programs , Corporate Readiness Training Program, a very good and informative one. I learnt how to write my resume the Canadian style, soft skills, interview preparation, and LinkedIn profile update. Then again, i was discouraged by the program instructor not to venture into HR profession yet as my little over 3months experience in HR will not be impressive to any employer. I contacted various recruitment agencies, and to God be be the glory, i landed my first contract job before the end of the program in a Multinational Investment Bank in Downtown Calgary. I continued my job search while working there. Lo and behold, one very good afternoon, i got a LinkedIn invite from the Director of Human Resources in one of the Oil and Gas servicing company in downtown, i accepted his request and he sends me a message, saying, "Hello, i am in need of HR Administrative Assistant in my company, would you mind sending me your resume for review". I quickly sent him my resume. Few minutes later, i received a call from the HR Manager scheduling an interview. I attended the interview two days later and she requested for two work references and promised to get back to me.

Before then, i heard God tell me, "the job is yours already, He single-handedly picked it for me. I am happy to announce to the whole house, indeed God keeps to His Word, i have received my employment letter and due to start work on Monday. For those till doubting that there is not just a God, but a Faithful one at that, who doesn't follow protocols in bringing to pass His Word, please you may have to reconsider your thoughts.

I am really ecstatic right now and want to encourage us all believers, do all you can, network all you can, prepare the best resume, enroll in the best courses, but do not rely on your efforts, put your trust in God and He will never let His children down.

I have been so Curious about the Articling exepmtion too.

Claire40:
Phew..... 225 pages conquered!!!. Thanks to everyone for sharing and being helpful. Seniors in the house, I have some questions, please bear with me and help in answering them.

1. From my research, I gathered that foreign trained lawyers can apply for exemption from articling in Ontario. Please has any one successfully done this or know someone who has? The thought of paying for and writing NCA exams and then searching for article placements is freaking me out. The possibility of exemption is one of the reasons am drawn towards Ontario

2. Please is worth certifying as an environmental professional(EP) from Eco Canada. Will it give me an edge in applying for regulatory advisory roles in the oil and gas industry in Canada? I have over five years as an environmental lawyer and from the information I have from eco Canada's website, I'm eligible to become an EPt and after one year of Canadian experience become an EP. Please what certifications do people working as policy analysts in Canada typically have?
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by yokus(f): 8:35pm On Feb 05, 2018
I believe it can be any firm. Sorry im replying this late, so much to do.
vcole:
ah ha! I knew it seemed too smooth. So this articling, can it be any firm? Or specific firms?
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by yokus(f): 12:37pm On Jan 31, 2018
vcole:
Thanks. Seems straight forward. A brief look at the nca site shows assessment fees as $450 and nca challenge exams at 340 each. So with 8 courses and assessment that's roughly $3200. Not bad at all. Way cheaper than docs pathway lol!!
That is the easy part o, ARTICLING is the hard part cos the opportunities are scarce. So you may have passed all those hard exams and get stranded cos no firm accepts you to do the compulsory articling

Lmaoo @ landlady. Pls dont ban urself o.

Ballerz:
I woke up one day in October 2017, and saw this pop up that I was being suspended till Dec 31. I did not know what it meant until I tried to respond to a query. Reached out to Osewa and team and there was no response. And since I was not being paid for providing content on the blog, I told myself I would use those minutes for other productive matters.

Those who reached out to me, I still provided the help I could. And guess what….? I have met quite a number of people from NL in person. Met this Nigerian Guy at Acces, we exchanged numbers. It was just last week he said “I think we have communicated before, I sent you a Whatsapp Chat and you responded” I said I am not sure. He said he will look for the chat, and boooom na true o. Cool guy. Make we dey do good. If he was to assassinate me, na easy does it he would have taken me out.

Met Czar two or three times now. I even ate her Ogbono when I visited her in Mississauga. She has a creepy landlady.
For the Driving License, my guy is off that project. He doesn’t have direct hold on them again.
So what has been happening while I was away… I was going to resume to NL on Jan 1, after ban elapsed. I just told myself, this blog owner is unserious. I am not being paid for it, I am banning myself too.

Czaratwork can disturb! Choi… Since I don’t know why my handle was suspended, the next time they might ban me till 2025. So until I know their reason(s) I dey hiatus.

Wow. Im so excited for you Nogen. More Favour for you, hubby n the trio. Plenty ehugs n kisses

Nogen:
Meeen! The cold got a better part of me yesterday. I came back exhausted!

My house hunt yesterday took an interesting turn. I saw an advert on kijiji about a fully furnished apartment for 750$ a month. In my mind, it's a great deal. I took a taxi to the apartment and I wasn't satisfied. Na wao for these Canadians , they said fully furnished but I met nearly empty apartment. 2 dirty sofas in the living room, cooker, fridge , Internet. That's all. Is this what I will pay 750$ monthly? No space for my kids to play except I take them to a nearby park.

I left the place to a second apartment , managed by the same agent. A 3 and half , better than the first one at 550 dollars a month. Has 2 dirty sofas again. I looked at the environment and said maybe we could manage this.

I then went to look for Service Canada office to obtain my Social Security number. The house agent took me to the mall instead. God works in mysterious ways. I used the opportunity to buy a few things we needed . Was about to call a taxi when my phone went flat. I saw a black guy sitting somewhere in the mall. I approached him and begged him to please call me a taxi that my phone was flat. He asked where I was going to. I told him. He brought out his phone and the next thing he said, " Come , let me drop you off to the place" I was scared. He sensed that and quickly introduced himself as a Malian and asked me where I came from. I said I'm Nigerian. He was perplexed! A Nigerian in Sherbrooke ? You guys go to Toronto and the Anglophone provinces not French!

Then I became relaxed and he took me there. We got talking and he got to know about my house search. He waited for me to get my Number and he then took me to his Caretaker after introducing me to his wife and 2 children. I became totally comfortable. He brought me back to the hotel , met my husband and children. An hour later, he came back and picked me up to see the apartment the Caretaker spoke about earlier.

I fell in love immediately! It has all that I asked for. Large space at the back and at the front, a garage, a storage facility outside, 2 large bedrooms, a modern cooker, big fridge, heater, hot water and a serene environment and I even have a small garden. 5 minutes walk to the Mall, 2 mins walk to an elementary school and a Daycare center. It also came cheaper at 525 dollar a month. The only thing is that we can't move in until the 3rd of January and I have to pay 35 dollars a month for electricity.

He agreed to be my guarantor and the wife is taking me to stores where I can buy stuffs for the apartment at a reasonable rate. He is coming this morning to take me to the Landlord and sign the contract. He is an Angel sent by God to help me at this very critical point in my life. God really works in mysterious ways.

You & your humour. I kept laughing over n over reading this.

MummyJaygirls:
We used Ethiopia airline, Flight was scheduled for 1.10pm out of naija. We left the house at 8.30am and got there in good time, we had 11 check in bags (paid for 1 extra bag), 5 hand luggages, 2 laptop bags and 3 children trolley bags, hehehe, me sef tire for the load(family of 5).

All our bags were 30kg except 1 which was 20kg cos customs removed my palm oil (nonsense) my palm kernel and coconut oil made it thru, (maybe cos they were in smaller bottles)

Flight was on time, children were excited to be moving to a country with snow and made out plans of how they would play in d snow (too much cartoon) lol. Inflight entertainment was ok, food (rice) was saltless but we chop am like that, before hunger go kill purzon above sea level.

We got to Ethiopia on time, waited like for 2-3 hours before proceeding to Dublin (they changed crew and some other “minene” we didn’t leave d plane) after like 40 minutes we were off again to Toronto, got there in good time but the queue at d airport for all d registration (stamping of copr and getting of sin) made us miss our connecting flight to Edmonton but we were fixed for the next one and the attendant was nice to check in all our hand luggages (free at last)

Flight from Toronto to Edmonton is 4-5 hours inside one country.
I had read someone’s post somewhere where he/she said no free food on air Canada so I wasn’t expecting anything as I no get money to buy, I positioned myself well to sleep then someone tapped me and asked what I’d like to eat, first thing I said was I don’t want to buy, (I no Dey for gbese o) then she said, your ticket comes with a meal, o boy see as I asked for big sandwich, hehehe.

We got to Toronto, went to baggage pickup and only 4 made the trip with us, we went to complain and our details was taken and told they would give us a call when they arrive, all bags came in later that night.

I noticed one of my bags had been opened and a nylon containing detergent was torn open, I guess they thought it was hard drugs (so those of u planning to transport those things be careful o, dem go catch u)

We arrived the day snow decided to start falling again. As at today it’s -29

We got home to already cooked food, yippie!!!

All in all the journey was ok, the children behaved themselves especially my 2 year old that I was really concerned about.

This is the end of my story, thank you.
