papiloski: Hello everyone, thanks to Solomonwise, ferdimako, damkollins, solomongard and all those helping others to suceed on this forum.I have been following this thread since May 1st when the FSWP new criteria was announced. We approached an agent who said He was going to collect 350,000 naira from us for processing and frankly we don't have that kind of money now.It put us off for a while because He created a larger than life situation, made d FSWP look impossible, but with this thread hope has been birthed in us again. Now to my questions:
1.My husband is the one applying,His NOC is 1123.We are at ground zero in terms of preparation.I would like to know If the same set of occupations will be used in express entry come January 2015 or should we just go ahead with ECA and IELTS,its just dat am skeptical dat his NOC will be full soon and He might not meet up.

2.If we can't meet up with the current criteria, should we go ahead with ECA and IELTS in preparation for express entry in January?

3.Since He is the one applying, will I need to do d IELTS and if I do is there any advantage for us?
4.The amount needed for our family to be in d accout as POF,should it also be made ready by JAnuary?
5.My Husband has an HND but He is currently in a profession that He has two professional qualifications in.His masters degree certificate is yet to be issued, does He just go ahead to do assessment of d HND or He will need to get the transcript for His masters
6.Will I need to do ECA too?
Hi. I believe that it is better to die trying than not to make an effort at all. Your NOC is still very open. It is a faith walk with God. If you believe that it is possible for you and your husband to make it, you will afterall 'all things are possible to him that believes'. Pls go ahead and apply.

You can locate ielts centres where exam dates like October are are still available, not necessarily Lagos.
He can send for his academic credentials right away and send for it to be evaluated.

My one naira advice.

All the best.

blessbunmi: Hello house, My exam is slated for Oct 2nd @ Ilorin and I am yet to receive further directives. Pls for those who have taken Ielts I will like to know the closest time that one will get further instructions from British Council because it was stated on their website that we would be contacted early enough to take the speaking part 7 days before or after the other tests.
Thank you.
You would be contacted approximately a week before your writing exam and a few days before your speaking test. Most likely, your speaking test will be on a weekday; about three days before or after your writing test.

All the best in your exams.

Ekpekus1: If your present job is over a year with pay then it can be used. However, the points from experience will be reduced. If you still cumulatively have over 67 point, then no qualms.
Thanks.

Ekpekus1: huh How manage? Is it that ur profession isn't among the 50 occupations listed or Job description does not fall within the under listed profession? I'm kind of confused.
My present work experience does but my past work experiences does not, or does it really matter?

damkollins: Try to get all supporting documents that will link you with the company e.g payslips, employment letter and so on.
Also,I strongly advise that you get an affidavit to explain the reason why the company is not issuing you the reference letter and also use the affidavit to declare your entry/exit to/from company, working hours,monthly/annual salary and you job descriptions/duties.
Affidavit will help strengthen your case.
if you also have a senior colleague of yours in the company,he/she also can write letter of reference for you on a plain sheet as an addition but please, the affidavit is very important in conjunction with payslips and employment letter.
Cheers.
Thanks bros.
Pls can you send me a pm, ill really like to discuss some personal things with you, pls?

What if you cant get a reference from your former office but you have documents to prove that you worked there, would it still not be counted for you?

Do not fret, that was the same issue i had with mine. I was able to view the result on their site on the third day after the scheduled date. Just relax and keep checking .

damkollins: Most probably ,it will be at the advance stage of the process.
It may be just before medical request or incorporated into the medical request.
Surely, you will receive it through the email you identified on your Generic form.
Because of the unusual length of the PR process in Accra, there is 95% likelihood of them asking for updates even if you use a well verified statement of account as they need to be sure.
Most importantly,A bank certificate or statement of account with history of lump sum deposit of cash will surely be asked for an update of the POF.
Cheers.
Quite well delivered, thanks so much.
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by yomifowe(m): 10:54am On Aug 25, 2014
damkollins: Bank certificate is accepted but nobody will penalize you if you just print out your statement of account........in either case, you will still be asked for an update of POF later so i advise you to print out the statement of account....anyone is okay.
Though I've not seen anyone evaluate a third degree certificate but the intentions of the evaluation of certificates /degree is not to know the brilliance of applicants....atleast for now.
This is the reason why first class,2nd class upper,2nd class lower have the same Evaluation summary and i believe it will be the same when a third class or even a third class certificate or degree if is evaluated also.
From my understanding with critical analysis of an evaluation report, its is intended to know if your awarding institution is globally recognized, your adminission requirements ,Length of programme and to determine the equivalence of certificates.
From your transcripts sent, your equivalence will be determined .
I believe there is no issue in evaluation ........most applicants will never tell you the class of degree they evaluated....but i believe you are fine.
Cheers.
Hi, Pls i would like you to throw more light on what you said about being asked to update POF later. Would this bw done in writing, and which level of the process would this be, before or after medicals. Pls reply.

Tks

Ekpekus1: The checklist stated "IF AVAILABLE" as regard transcript. Certainly, copies of the certificates will be sent.
Just checked it now. I think you are correct.

Thanks.
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by yomifowe(m): 1:50pm On Aug 21, 2014
damkollins: Yes some school gives while some doesn't or perhaps ,the students themselves never thought of asking or applying for it.
I stand to be corrected ,a reliable buddy from Unilag told me that the school doesn't issue student's copy of the transcripts.
Some schools even give it out for graduating students while some doesn't soooooo different schools with different policy.
Cheers
.
That might be true, but mine doesnt.

solomonwis: When applying for FSWP (after you must have obtained your ECA result),you will need both copies of your educational certificate as well as copies of your transcripts. You should make effort to obtain a student copy of your transcripts.
Really? But i am aware that schools don't issue transcript by hand to graduate student except institutions. So how am i supposed to get a copy?
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by yomifowe(m): 5:48pm On Aug 20, 2014
damkollins: Just give them till the end of the week.
I'm sure they will sort it out soonest.
You may send a reminder mail to them again.
Cheers.
Ok Thanks.
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by yomifowe(m): 2:51pm On Aug 20, 2014
benik: Simple. You send in a copy of your certificate and your school sends in your transcripts. Have you mandated your school to send that in?
Thanks. The transcript my school sent has already been received by them and i don't have a copy, I only have my certificate photocopy. After paying esterday, I wrote to notify them of the sent documents but yet to get any reply.

damkollins: Between #12,000 and #15,000 should be okay depending on your chosen courier service.
Be careful in using the supposed cheap ones with no guaranteed express service.
I want to believe DHL,UPS or/and FEDex (in no order of effectiveness) are okay.
Cheers.
IAS about 9k, sent docs to US using their service and it got there in 3 days, but i don't know their Canada fees and duration.

Hi Everyone, just saw my IELTS result :

Listening: 7.5
Reading: 6.5
Writing: 7.0
Speaking: 7.0
Overall: 7.0
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by yomifowe(m): 6:26pm On Aug 18, 2014
damkollins: From what i noticed ,you are yet to pay for WES evaluation even though you may have registered.
First you need to pay the required evaluation fees through your credit card.....about $300 dollars including courier cost.
Once this is done ,a reference letter will be issued for you immediately which will be like your link to WES.
If you do this......you should not encounter similar issue as stated in your query.

On your IELTS result checking ,your identification number should be your international passport number which you supplied while registering.Other details that you will supply before you can check it is your candidate examination number, test date and so on.
Cheers
.
Thank you so much. True, i have not paid for the evaluation, this is because together wit my transcript, i sent a copy of my certificate (b.Sc) and i was expecting a notification to know how much both transcript and certificate verification would go for.

Do you know how much WES charge to confirm certificate, or is it at no cost at all?

Pls reply, tks.
