@ Kunsoft'
It is well. From what i could deduce from your post, one of the issues you had was with your account. To the V.O it seemed unrealistic, 500-600k/mth. Then you were applying for the fourth time with the same old tactic. You should have changed your sponsor and your program (M.Sc would be more tenable).
My case is similar to yours and I have retraced my steps and i am going to apply for an M.Sc now as against Associate or B.Sc. Wish you all the best

Ricky Rozay: I have a feeling that your situation might be like that of my sister's own.. Because she waited for her package for a long time, she didn't get it and kept going to Nipost office and even dropped her number but the same story.. She didn't hear from them just like you too.
First, when is your interview and when exactly did your sister send the package from US to you here?
Also, I hope you went to the correct post office..
And also i hope your sister filled in your house address correctly, because if she didn't fill it correctly, Nipost usually send all UNKNOWN packages with UNIDENTIFIELD contact address of it's owners to their head office at Marina Lagos, that's something I know about..... It happened to my sister's package.
My sister went to Nipost office uncountable times and they told her it is not in their office, until my sister got an information from a guy at the post office there who then advised her to go to their Head office at Marina Lagos, that the package will be there. All to her greatest surprise, she went to their head office in Marina and found the package there.
They will just abandon it in their Head office till the owner comes looking for it... Some people even forget their package there with them because they have no idea of the location of the package just like you now..Nipost officials will even be praying that the owners of some valuable items from abroad that will be useful to them don't coming looking for it so that they will turn the property to their own.
I just hope this shouldn't be your case..
So dts why I need to get certain information from you to enable me tell you the nxt thing to do...
I hope this information I have given will be useful for others who might be in this same similiar situation with yours... Thanks for your concern, I have gone for my interview, fortunately, I was sent a soft copy of the I-20, admission letter ansd other docs which i printed out. I then went ahead to print the other docs which my sis scanned and emailed to me, got another a/c statement a day b4 the D-Day. I exercised my faith went for the interview and i was not questioned about them @the embassy. |

Ricky Rozay: You will need to visit the nearest post office close to ur home and ask if ur i-20 package has been delivered because NIPOST receive this document from the US at an early date here in Nigeria but dey will use like 2 to 3 weeks to dispatch it to various homes....
So get moving now.... If it has reached 2 or 3 weeks since your sister sent your package from US to you through Nipost, then I suggest you will have to head to their office near your home to check if has been received..
It should be there... Cheers.. Thanks. However, i did just that but it was not there. I even had to give them my no so that they ll notify me once it arrives , up till tomorrow, i ve not received any call. |

iamchux: I think that's where the problem lies. Some of this nipost staffs delay or hold-on to this parcels when they don't get the destination right. But I guess if it was a P.O. Box addy, that very day it arrived, it would be place in your box. You will preferable use home addy for DHL or FedEx and not for regular mail. I might be wrong though! That's not the case here. I even went to NIPOST and even gave them my no but to no avail. The issue is she shld ve sent it using faster means like UPS or DHL. |

worry 359: You might as well apply as freshman. The reputation of Nigerian schools and universities is so poor that you will probably have to re-take any course material just to catch up. The only thing Nigerian universities can turn out are tribalist and Sealords! Haba! that's not a good compliment from you. I believe you are also a graduate from a Nigerian University and you are not any of these. Pls let's be constructive in our criticisms. |

I sent the western union sample form to him and all of my details. After making the payment he kept arguing with me that Money Gram is similar to Western Union and that they'll accept it. I've never been this pissed off before. I feel like cursing the bastard even if he's my cousin. The people we think we trust so much to take care of personal issues are the ones that might ruin and disappoint us. I sent the money to him since monday and yet tomorrow is friday and I still have no payment. This Sevis fee is an issue here on this forum and everyone here doesn't encourage patronizing agents even the moderators. With what I've gone through whenever I find myself out of this country I'll be willing to go the extra mile to help anyone in need of this Sevis fee issue. @Misstoyo,
This is my candid advice. You can do whatever you want to do with God on your side but you have to settle some issue within yourself.
If you want to go for undergrad studies; 1.determine the course you intend to go for, 2.research the schools you intend applying to 3.carefully fill your DS-160 application form meticulously covering up the lost time i.e between your high school graduation date and now, cos this is what you would determine the questions the V.O will ask you, 4.study typical interview questions posted on this thread and how to answer them 5.Pray hard, 6.go for your interview 7.Come back with a testimony with your visa in your hands.... The End |

ola2tu: Hello house, I have been following the topic from the very first part. Concerning the VIU, and other universities that is tagged automatic denial, I have 5 friends now who have moved to the US with VIU , 3 moved last year , and 2 already got their visa's approved few months ago, all applied in Abuja. As someone rightly said the school has a low rating doesn't mean it has been blacklisted. The US will never approve the school and allow students pay SEVIS fee if it is blacklisted or a scam, SEVIS fee are made via the close scrutiny of the Homeland security and if the school is blacklisted it would automatically be shut down. I think the denials for students holding a VIU admission here has nothing to do with the standard of the school, but more to do with the interview section. I totally agree with you. |

Find Out!: Dude, sorry about your denial. I really feel for you.
But you were warned about this school. It almost always guarantees a denial. Plus I hope the answers you typed here were not your exact responses coz these are way too short and unconvincing for even the most lenient VO to grant you a visa.
Now, even if the VO was new and had no idea about VIU, the second bolded (that you are in school here) would have likely also fetched you a denial. I still suspect till today that this was the major reason I was denied in January 2009 (not the nonsense they ticked on that white paper) coz i did the SAT, had a pretty good score (1920/2400), got into a very decent school, got some partial scholarship AND I WAS DENIED. I did not re-apply. I shrugged my shoulders, forgot about all the painstaking efforts I put into the whole thing while combining school, continued with my undergrad, finished with a decent CGPA (very very few points short of a 2:1 tho), went for NYSC, studied for and wrote the GRE, got a pretty good score, got admission with a GA and partial tuition waiver and by God's grace i will be heading to the embassy very soon (havn't gotten a date yet) and I am confident that I WILL GET THE VISA by God's grace.
Let me also tell you that by June/July that year, some serious things happened that I was (still am) very very very grateful to God that I was in Nigeria and not the US at that time. So it turned out that the denial was a blessing in disguise! When you commit your affairs to God at inception, even if things don't work out the way you'd wished at the end, do not be bothered coz its part of His plan for you and will ultimately be to your benefit as long as you trust in Him.
I shared my story with you to encourage you based on your sad closing statements because to some extent as you can see, I've been in your shoes before. So, young man, work towards getting those grades up, make some good friends, start studying for the GRE before you go for NYSC, stay with this thread, stay informed, do all that is necessary and by God's grace, shortly after your NYSC, you'll be on your way to the US to study with your parents paying nothing more than your flight ticket and some pocket money for you.
Cheer up, get up and conquer. It is well. Very inspiring write up. I must say that you are indeed a blessing to this thread, and although you were not referring to me, your words of encouragement are soothing. May the Lord God bless you real good. Because of your kind words, God wld grant your heart desires and you ll clinch your visa. Amen. |
