olenyi: For those that don't have compass or an android phone, I got hold of a really nice software that works on all devices/phones that supports java.

With this software, u don't need to worry about ur east or west again. Just input ur country name, latitude, longitude, GMT time difference and it automatically calculates ur north, east west, south.

It works by showing u a diagram of the sun or moon depending on time of day. Then when u position the diagram to where the sun/moon is at the sky, viola, u get ur coordinates.

SULIEMAN3: as for me unlike my two gurus methods, gadotor and faithchild... I downloaded a strong loader along with strong 4922a software then after extracting the software to stb format, i connect the rx to the apropriate port of my pc through rs232cable... I inserted my flash drive into the usb port of the pc i now switched on the rx and look for 4922a software from the loader(remember the loader is stored in flash drive not in the pc) and click connect from the loader then it loaded to 100% and erased data followed by writting... And the rx came alive working fine more than how it was b4 with 1.19p software.
The result of the above procedure was 100% good though i personally hv not tried the two written methods by gadotor and faithchild.... The two methods are welcome cos they give a short way to the solution of the problem.

faithchild: u can also do it this way,get a flash drive with your software in it,plug your dead decoder,switch off,then press and hold channel up on your remote control,now switch on your decoder still press and hold until loader display on the screen,then put your flash select manual browser and press ok,it will upgrade,and decoder will be like brand new.All ú only need is your flash drive

olenyi: How did u join the wires at the point where it went to the rooms. Try using F-connectors for the cable ends and iron tv plugs. They are more reliable. Then use an euroster 4-way splitter for the central joint. If this doesn't work, go to ur satellite dealer and get a signal amplifier. The cheap ones will do. And connect it just after the output fron the decoder. Dis should boost the signals to the far rooms and make it clear.

I think what you need is a signal booster. An AV to RF modulator is used mostly for decoders without RF
output and even though it performs better for long range video transmission, it cannot take the place of
a standard signal booster.

What you do, go to any satellite equipment shop (even DSTV shops) and ask them for a signal booster.
Connect the RF output of the decoder in the sitting room to the input of the signal booster. Then connect
the input cable of each of the TVs in the rooms to the output of the signal booster. Turn on the booster
and you'll be fine. Remember to assign different UHF channels to each decoder before
connecting them to the booster.

pls i want to know how i can do rf extension from a decoder in the siting room to tvs in 3 or more rooms of thesame house/ compound.. Pls i have tried but i noticed that d rooms that ar far from d decoder doesnt show colourd picture and ar not clear at all. Is there anyway i can do it witout joinin wires from 1 room to another. Pls i need to know how to make it display clear coloured pictures in a far room. What are the things to use. Thanks 4ur responses.

Yomkris: exactly, my 4669xii got upgraded tru d OTA and it doesnt have option as part of installatn submenu..
@all Pls what is the effect of this absence of option.. Can i still download d one at crosat and instal it may be it can replace d one 4rm OTA. Ur response wil b appreciated.

Ameboperoo: If I may come in, download d same version from either crosat or wizkid. They both hav option menu but d one from strong or OTA doesn't. Even though they are d same version and date.

Setoop: i hope this has not damage your decoder , what happen is that you have allow the positive and negative terminal of the coaxial cable that supply voltage from the box to diseqc switch to join together somewhere along the line (or to lnbf, if you not using switch )make sure you separate them ,it might probabily be the point where u use connector (check both the point of connection to box n switch and make sure that the hard wire at center didn't touch the flexible outside )

olenyi1: Dat, ur rx is still working, proves its an original.

As for the lnb display issue, check both ends of ur wire/cable. Looks like the outer flexible mesh wire is touching the middle solid wire at one of the ends. Better to remove the f-connector, cut a bit off, and refix the f-connectoe at both ends. Dat should solve it.

Scroll down to OTA menu and press ok. Change scan mode from default to user. Scroll down to satellite and change it to something like this "0.0E----", scroll down to frequency and change it to something like this "[1] 0.000 GHz". Symbol rate should remain like this "0.000 MS/s. Then save your setting. After that, your reciever will freeze then switch off your reciever from the back and switch it on again and go back to the OTA menu, press ok with your remote then press exit and your reciever will ask you "DO YOU WANT TO SAVE? Then save and your reciever will never think of upgrading through OTA. Thank you.
