Politics / Re: After War: Why Are Southeastern Cities Averagely Finer Than Southwestern Cities? by YoruBanger: 10:58am On Jan 06, 2016
lolzzzz:
its a glaring observation, if you can't comprehend the topic, you can ignore it.

Lol. For you mind. cheesy The SouthWest is about 3 times the size of the entire SE -- Oyo state alone is the size of Anambra, Abia, and Imo state combined. Ditto Ogun and Ondo. And even some of our cities are as big as your states in Landmass. We have cities that are centuries old and still standing for posterity. It's no secret that the SE is the smallest and therefore the most densely populated region in the country with serious population pressure challenges, which explains why you all have to migrate out of your enclaves in masses and need to rebuild your leveled buildings after the civil war. How big are 'developed' Aba, Owerri, and Enugu? The developed section of Enugu encompasses but a mere 2 local government out of 17, same applies to Imo state, where Owerri is the only 'developed' town. Aba is nothing to write home about. These 'developed' areas of the SE can't be any bigger than Ikeja in Lagos. #FACT. Ibadan city alone is as big if not bigger than some SE states. I have attached pix of Ohafia in Abia state with brown roofs that make Ibadan's look regal in comparison. Yinmu.

An official of the task force who pleaded anonymity, however, said they were at the market to seal it due to the traders nonchalant attitude to environmental
sanitation.

He noted that the traders have taken
government’s threat lightly and did
nothing to remedy the situation.

Smh. Instead of those dirty traders to comply with the Lagos state govt directive to clean-up their environment, they are resorting to Biafra propaganda and blackmail to whip up ethnic sentiments.

Yinmu. They are on a long thing coz na Dem go lose money.

Duh! He set it up outside the SE and it is now crumbling. He was also duped in Ogun of land that he purchased. Penny wise pound foolish.

Innoson Motors and others in Igboland are doing well.

Yinmu. Your problem is that you are too sentimental, as is the case with a lot of you SE bred folks. That he's yet to receive his C of O in no way proves that he was duped. It's not all the time that you purchase a land that you immediately get your C of O. For all we know he may have taken possession of the land while awaiting his c of o, this is not uncommon in Nigeria. Erisco is too big to be 'duped' by any state government without consequence.

What you fail to understand is that the vast majority of successful igbos did not 'make it' in Igboland but rather OUTSIDE igboland. That is the gospel truth.

Like say there is no Yoruba man who imports anything into Nigeria. Get lost, you hypocritical Yoruba bat.

Yinmu. Keep playing the ostrich there instead of placing the blame where it really belongs.

Erisco himself put the blame where it truly belongs when he said:

The sector is not doing well for now because of the bad foundation laid by previous governments.

Interestingly enough, Dangote also runs a Tomato paste factory, I think the biggest in the country, and I'm yet to hear him complain. Perhaps he too needs to be interviewed to hear his view.

And your SW and Northern brothers are the customs officers who collect bribes to let them import every thing on earth into Nigeria. Shame on the customs and exercise authorities. It takes two to tango, remember?

Akuko! Like say SE people sef no dey inside customs. Besides, a lot of those importers got connections and illegal waivers from the 'ogas at the top' which were mostly sealed during the SE-favoured last administration of 'anything goes', to bring in these contrabands and consequently messing up the poor guy's business. You should be attacking GEJ's admin and those unscrupulous importers bro.

Today, the industry is plagued by importation of substandard but cheap tomato paste from China, so, Umeofia is left to fight to keep his local plant afloat and has become a strong advocate for the manufacture of goods locally as against importation.

Ironically, it's his SE brothers who are the major culprit with respect to the importation of the substandard tomato paste into the market.

There is nothing developed about osun, ekiti or oyo.
I mean you can't compare any of these states to enugu or even imo.
Nigeria as a whole though is a shitthole, but the SW is far from being its most developed.

Yinmy. Only 2 local governments in the entire Enugu are 'developed' out of about 17 or so total, while the rest are glorified villages. infact the developed part of Enugu can't be bigger than Ikeja in Lagos. Yes, I said it and you can quote me. Owerri the capital of Imo is the only part of Imo that can be considered 'developed' by Nigerian standards. Oshogbo and Ekiti have their 'developed' sides too just that we Yorubas are not as narcissistic as you all are, splashing selective pictures of the eye candy parts of igboland. I have pictures of Ohafia in Abia state that is worse than any village in the entire SW.

please visit anambra to clarify your doubts. After Lagos in Nigeria, anambra is the next cosmopolitan state...
Obiano as a governor is performing tremendously that not even Ambode can be compared with him for now, is like you don't know that anambra state has a large crude oil and gas reserve that the states governor is trying to harness currently building oil rigs and other facilities in that regard...
In terms of IGR, corruption and misappropriation has really made the state to large behind, but today Obiano's govt is fixing that anomaly, I hope he achieves it...

Try harder dude. Until Anambra or any of its major cities start getting mentioned in the same breathe as Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano, your postulations will remain but mere hype. As it stands, I reckon that even Enugu, Ibadan, and Calabar rank higher in renown and importance Nationally than Anambra or any of her cities. That is the truth. Though I will acknowledge that you Anambra fans are doing a heck of a job trying to sell/market/rebrand the state owing to Obiano's commendable efforts, but y'all really have your work cut out.

Continue, Ebonyi will soon overtake all ur states while ur busy living in the shadow of Lagos
. Dude, I'd be more concerned about Ebonyi overtaking your ovehyped Anambra than the SW -- Ebonyi already has a higher IGR than Anambra. Besides, you folks obviously have serious inferiority complex issues if not why must you always compare yourself with the SW to feel good about yourselves?

Ogun state has already overtaken Lagos as the defacto Industrial hub of the entire country, and Jonathan is on record for saying both Lag and Ogun control no less than 50% of the Nigerian economy. Leave matter for Mathias and face your region.

hahaha... E PAIN AM!! I am not even from Anambra, just stating the obvious...
As for ndianambra being illiterate, this conspicuously shows that you know nothing about that state, check the recent rating, achievements by states in education; anambra leads... The state has produced scholars, academics and academia of reputable characters. Worthy of note is the first Nigerian Vice chancellor of that university at Ibadan is from that state in person of Kenneth Dike...

Yinmu. There's nothing to hate about Anambra. The state is all hype and nothing more. And I don't care whether you are from that big traders state or not. For all the noise you all make about Anambra, pray tell why even Ebonyi of all states generates more IGR than that over hyped market state? Where does Anambra rank on the GDP scale? How important is the state economically to the FG? How much does it contribute to the National commonwealth? These are the indices that determine the value of a state to the federation, not over hyped news of Obiano commissioning a flyover? If Anambra was so important the FG would not have called iPod's bluff when they shut down Onitsha in protest recently. Besides Onitsha, what else is in Anambra? Nnewi is living on old glory. Fvck the hype.

Lagos should be accessed differently as a zone, even the PHCN zoned lagos island, ikeja as different zones from the south west zone , are you smarter than the telecommunications companies like mtn, globacom, Air tel that have different switches for lagos and the remaining south west

Kettyki,, you are smarter than this so I'll be a lil easy on you so I don't chop another ban -- just got back from a 2 weeks hiatus. But frankly you are not making sense. Lagos can't cease from being a part of the SW Just simply coz you personally loath the idea. You are in no position to decide that. Remove Lagos from South west, its a 'federal territory' for everyone. If Lag is finally removed watch as the whole south west would be comparable to the North west, (if not less developed than the NE).
...as for Ogun being the industrial state of the country, it's a big fallacy; pure water industries and other small scale and cottage industries are not counted as heavy industries that generate bulky income, if I'm lying ask Anambra state whether they were part of the 'snitches' that converge at Aso rock begging for fund comically termed bailout fund...

Lol. Your bad-belle will not change the fact that Lagos is in SW Nigeria, and that Ogun is now the industrial hub of Nigeria. You can hype Anambra from today till tomorrow but that won't change the fact that it is a glorified village peopled by illiterate traders and wannabes.

Can you rewrite your analysis removing lagos from the South west and making it a separate zone also remove Abuja from the north central and keep it as a separate zone, let us see how the list plays out.

Can you listen to yourself? So where should Lagos be moved to if not the Southwest? The moon? Whether you like it or not Lagos is and will always be in Southwest Nigeria. Deal with it.

A lot of these governors are 'First term' governors who spend most of their first tenure in office trying to impress the public in order to win their confidence for a second term shot, only to slow down after winning re-election.

That's why I personally don't like the idea of Govs doing two terms coz their second terms usually turn out wasted with inactivity.
