look at bolaji tryna turn it into a joke, sharrap, u are trully 31 YRS OLD, and what makes it worse is u are even ashamed of it, u had ur info on ur profile not too long ago, u idiot, u prob removed it when u noticed that ur age didnt correlate with ur pathetic character |
lmao @edosiooo, the thread is called BolajiBaok, duhhh, are they supposed to talk about michael jackson? my point earlier was i dont understand who could take someone like bolaji serious, especially about him having a car, lol, , shit is ridiculousi said it before, bolaji is a 31yr old man who should be ashamed of himself, becos while his mates are married with kids, he is on nairaland making a fool of himself |
this bolaji guy is an embarrassment to 31 yr old men, i just dont believe such an older person could act so stupid |
bolaji, shut the fukk up and log off this thread, this discussion is obviously too complex for u. |
but my point is not whether mode9 is a good rapper or not, that is undeiniable, is he a better lyricist than ruggedman? in my opinion, yes, but is he a better artist than ruggedman? nope
its obvious u didnt read my post because u wouldnt have wasted your time typing all that to prove a point that i already clarified earlier, again and again, mode9 is a lyricist, he is intelligent , good, but he is not a better artist than ruggedman, do u know what i mean when i say ARTIST? let me break it down for u, i don't mean how many punchlines u can spit, it doesnt mean how many ways u can twist your rhymes to sound intelligent, it doesnt mean a good subliminal diss rapper, an artist is someone who makes songs, mode9 can rap, but he cannot make songs, music, gbedu, and u bring up 2pac, and then in the next breath say u too are a good battle mc, thats a stupid thing to say mentioning 2pac's intelligence as key to his iconic status, dude i hope u know intelligence goes beyond ur ears and the loudspeakers, i cud paint out pac's story for u behind the scenes and let u be the judge if a lot of his decisions were based on intelligence, and u got the nerve to ask me if i listen to music? wow, just wow, do u know how many intelligent rappers they are out there 2pac made songs, he wasnt necessarily a good lyricist, he had his days, he knew how to make music, that and some additional factors made him wat he is remembered for today, music = multiple chemistry = verses, hooks, chorus, instruments, personality, so when i mention that rugged makes better music than mode9, or rugged is a better artist than mode9, yes i include all of those in my comparison because i am not comparing their lyrical ability, your lyrical ability is just a subset of your skills as a rap artist, thats why there are millions of rappers and very few rap artists, hope u understand that better |
nice song, beautiful video |
@kaydee, theres no cause for ur post right there, i dont know what u are implying, but whatver it is, that was not necessary anyways back to the topic, pls lets not get emotional on this subject, its not that serious note that my views are not in support of fastmoney's , just a few things i agree with him on and i stated that in my previous post @jajalove, i also have a Comp Science degree and i have listened to those particular 3 tracks u listed, elbow room i cud spit the whole song for u cus its that nice and i played it for so long, but my point is not whether mode9 is a good rapper or not, that is undeiniable, is he a better lyricist than ruggedman? in my opinion, yes, but is he a better artist than ruggedman? nope ruggedman has grown lyrically since i first heard him, which is definitely a plus, he has made better music, he is grown creatively and even if he;s considered commercial, he is bringing something new into it which still makes him true to himself, as much as so many ppl criticize ruggeddybaba video, i fel that vid is phenomenal, its a very huge step to take to make a vid liek that for such a great song, i think thats the best video i saw from a nigerian hiphop artist last yr, pls note i am not into how many cars, women, or how much moeny u can show in ur video, i am primarily concerned about creativity, mode9 on the other hand stepped into the commercial scene with that song nigerian girls (after saying he was never gonna go commercial), the rap and stories were funny but the hook was nothing to write home about, i'm sorry ruggedman takes authority, i will crown him king of nigerian rap before mode, and thats becos rugged has a cause, he has goals set in the game which he emphasizes, eliminate wack emcees, give an identity to nigerian rap, u know, even if i dont necessarily agree with all of it, but he states that and makes ppl listen to it, and say he has a direction, thats wat is catchy about this dude, he doesnt need to be a punchliner to deliver those sort of messages, mode9 on the other hand, im not clear on wat he stands for when u look at someone liek saucekid, even tho i think his fans on nairaland suck ass , i like the guy becos he is what he is, u can see it in him that he has a cause, he stands for something and he is becoming better at what he is doing becos he has that drive (african ambassador of rap music), thats a huge role for someone to claim, but the guy is working hard to ensure he is what he says, and thats why i like what he doesmode9 is stagnant, he is not doing anything special really, if u ask an average mode9 fan including myself, why do u think mode9 is hot?? dey will say oh, hes intelligent, punchlines, science, see, nigerian hiphop is in a growing state, there are gonna be new rappers everyday dat will spit better punchlines than mode9, at the end of the day, we gonna look abck and say wat can each of these ppl be remembered for? ruggedman - erasing wack emcees, puttin an identity to nigerian hiphop saucekid - african ambassador of rap music, officially representing african hiphop overseas mode9 - memorable punchline rapper, intelligent emcee which of those looks the least irrelevant to u? |
fastmoney, God bless u for seeing the bigger picture, and i totally believe your story because a lot of people cannot explain how they think another artist is better, most nigerians will look at an artist and say, "oh he doesnt even sound nigerian so that makes him tight", the first time i saw a comment like that on this forum, i was embarrassed, its clear lots of us nigerians don't even know how to analyze a rapper and what we are actually lookin for in this hiphop i havent listened to both their albums at length, but i surely agree with u that rugged has stepped his game up, i heard about 4 of his new songs and i got to give him his props, mode9, im not sure about him, i think his style is not something that lasts long, rap is not all about punchlines, when u check the history of punchline artists, they are only hot for a while, never stay too consistent and most of em end up being underground (cassidy, lloyd banks, papoose, joe buddens, jin, etc) so i wouldnt say who is better, i just think rugged is growing better and mode9 is a little stagnant, cus when u look at it, u listen to mode9 and he drops punchlines, im like ok so whats next? gimme music, im afraid he is very limited in that category, but rugged i think could deliver on both platforms, which in reality makes him a better artist, just my 2cents |
if this is the video u are talkin about, i dont know wats so tight in this video http://youtube.com/watch?v=wemKQ4Qu5-c&feature=related whats all this money flashing and stuff? why are our artists inheriting the wrong and ignorant things out of american music? this is rubbish as far as im concerned, if u are spending this amt of money to shoot a video, pls be creative with it (pls no one should bite my head off, this is just my own opinion, u dont have to agree with me) |
can we get a link pls ? |
MIT has been working on a $100 computer project for their One laptop per child movement. The program has backing by the likes of AMD, Google, Motorola and Samsung and will be rolled out in Brazil, China, Egypt, Thailand, and South Africa. The Linux OS based laptop is built of weatherproof rubber and includes a manual crank to recharge the battery if there is not power source available. The power cord and AC adaptor convert into a carrying/shoulder strap (we’ll see if that works!). Overall, I really love this idea and believe it can make a significant change, in Africa in particular. There are a few obstacles in the road to connectivity utopia though, one would be the fact that it is the government of these countries that do the purchasing - always a problem in corrupt places. Also, $100 seems inexpensive to those of us in the US and Europe, however that is a very sizeable portion of the average Kenyan’s budget. Connectivity to the web is another issue - and is where this project can really provide it’s worth in the long-run. It might be possible to find some inexpensive way to get online, maybe that’s why Google is backing it. With the new GoogleNet, they might be able to provide free Wi-Fi or WiMax hotspots. ------------------------------------------------------ What do you guys think? do you think this is a good shot for africa in general? |

OMG are u guys actually arguing on another man's private part?? goodness mercy what has this world come to what level of gayness is this?? smh @nairaland |
its these stupid saucekid stans that act dumb like this, it must be the shekpe in their system that got them acting like crackheads, the poor girl just asked for lyrics and all i've seen these illiterates post since is "yyyyyyy" and bolaji's usual attention seeking skills, as if they don't understand english @bisibaby, i wish i could help u but i honestly don't have the time to sit, listen and write, here's a suggestion tho, if u go to saucekid's myspace page or website, and send him a message requesting the lyrics, i'm sure he shouldnt have a problem providing it to u, dont bother wasting ur time here |
this is generally for all of our artists, we need to embrace our own, raise the standard of nigerian videos in NIGERIA, not south africa or america, pick the girls for ur videos from NIGERIA, not south africa or america, u cant tell me we dont have girls in nigeria as beautiful as those in that video, this is embarrassing to us, we never put our own country/people first |
i love geni, but i'll fukk steph before her |
y are our nigerian artists flying to south africa to shoot their videos in the first place?? |
wowwwwwwwwwwwwww @ paru, i see the reason they shudnt give som of u idiots visas to america, u come to america and see a few things on your LA local news and then hop on the internet all of a sudden u a tough guy, joinin with a name like paru, do u know what the fukk paru (piru) means, u dunce, i see the reason why people say the game is fukked now, this idiotic creepy-crawlie jumps on the internet and makes this dumb threats behind his computer, based on what he seen on Beef/SmackDVD and LA local news, with a post like that, u and your inmates(internet mates) must be a pack of cartoon fantasizing characters, and how i wish i knew your location i should show your post to a proper blood in your area and watch the way he smacks the shit out of u, mugu @skingo, does your ass still hurt or u a pro now from all those lubricated backstrokes?? ![]() listen u guys need to get a job, u kno, like a real job then maybe u wont be too worried about what people post here at their leisure time!!! its unbelievable how completely empty some human minds could be, i would never have believed if i am not witnessing first hand, i'm done discussing with u cows, this is just toooo ridiculous ![]() |
i thot these naija artists make enough money, dont they rake in like 100,000 naira per show?? maybe im lost or something but this is not cool news, true or not, this kind of situation shud not be coming up, am having 2nd thoughts on these nigerian artists, i always thot they raked in heavy money |
keyless entry im not sure how much of an effect it has in nigeria, but i think tis really handy in low temperature countries, where u can start ur car from ur house and let it warm up before u step in, |
, wow, skingo, i see somebody has been learning english language as i advised them to do earlier, atleast im glad u can spell wat u trully are (gay)for the reasonable minds, the only reason i spelt it like that is because ive typed "gay" on this site before and it was edited, so bottomline, honestly, who da fukk cares??, as long as my message is sent across, even to the crippled mind like skingo's , then i have nothing to worry about ![]() |

sect:thank u for narrating further so these ppl see wat am saying |
tosinadeda:exactly my point now let me ask u to answer ur own question, is that hiphop to u? explain how it is, and dont tell me mode9 is a rapper so its hiphop, i want u to explain how the story/news itself is hiphop |
tosinadeda:its too bad u got a slow memory, wat i meant was that is more of gossip material than hiphop material |
, shit is ridiculous
