Hi OP, will you mind sharing how much you spent on this first batch and how much you gained from it? Just the cost of raising the animals, housing excluded.
Spent 930 naira to raise each bird,
Sold each for 1,700 (Offtake price)

When you're good,
You don't talk much, but your deeds speaks volume on your behalf!

TURKS Preemah Agro, Heaven has your reward for being so good and trust worthy (despite the fact we have never seen physically).

Good evening Nland Famz
Been a while here,
FARM UPDATES
So we sold the whole First batch over 100 chicken at an average weight of 2.5kg in 6 weeks and 3 days with some weighing 3kg+
I can authoritatively say it here that the OBJ marshals are a force to reckon with when it comes to giant broiler production!
It surprised us and every broiler farmer around, some even said we lied about their age, you all needed to see the size of these birds!!!

You know who work must chop na, we slaughtered and ate some to see the quality of meat we were producing and we were wowed at how lean the meat was (without any visible trace of fats) Turks of Preemah Agro, we cant say that you enough for your advice to go with this brand, it was a worthwhile experience and a very educative one too.

Mean while, our new set of 150 marshals are doing well and will be 4 weeks tomorrow (we will weight them and give live updates from farm)

We are also expecting 200 Agrited Ross308 tomorrow ordered through yours faithfully (Turks of Preemah Agro), and as usual will be giving timely updates here.

They'll be 5 weeks tomorrow.
Ventilation is excellent. It's a big storage room with 2 windows. I created a cubicle for them at one of the sides so they can be closer to one another and stay warm.
I clean their litter everyday and put wood shavings for them.
Bro please stop clearing out their litter everyday, as this causes stress in the birds which in return causes weakness and might lead to degrading of their immune system.
You can clear them out just once a week, that's how I do mine and my litter is always clean

We also received deliveries of another set of 150 OBJ Marshal Broilers from our ibadan plug @Preemah Agro. And they're 5 days now from hatch out, and we gave Lasota vaccine today.

I have lost 6 birds in the last 7 days and I just noticed this (picture attached) on one of the birds this evening.
Is it contagious? Should I isolate it from the other birds?
What's the cause and the treatment?
Yes isolate the bird, it's an infection, and I think it's called coryza but I'm still very new to poultry farming and it's better we allow the experienced folks in the game aid in solving the issue

TURKS PREEMAH

Please someone with vast understanding of this matter should help

And so,
We just finished weighting all the birds, and we found an average weight of 450grams (96% of the birds) while the biggest weighted 500grams, the smallest weighted 150 gram (just one with this weight).
Find below few images from the weighting process

This first picture is the heaviest
The second picture is the lightest
The two other pictures are just to show the average weight gain, they grow uniformly

Good afternoon forum members,
We are back again with updates from the farm,
Was waiting unto they attain two weeks before making any other post on their updates.
So today is Day15 and we administered Gumboro Vaccine, they're really hardy birds and very energetic (stubborn).
The grow really fast that sometimes we think they grow over night, as ever morning we get to the farm, it looks like they add weight as the the night passes, they have started loosing their baby chick feathers.
Below are some pictures from their 2 weeks of age!
#OBJMarshal - Male line

Good evening pals,
Haven't been able to add new posts here for some days now, maybe I was temporarily suspended, but I'm back now.
So today is day6 and we administered Lasota Vaccine to our chicks today,
They're all doing very fine, running around all the place and pecking at everything even (We) the people feeding them.
I must commend these OBJ Marshall Male line, they're really hardy birds, as none seem to have experienced any laxity yet, their white feathers starting being visible from day3, and some of them are already looking double the size we received them as. I must confess @Turks (PREEMAH AGRO) really did a good job sourcing the birds for us!

Our gratitude goes out to all well wishers who advised against using Lanterns to brood, N.B: This is a pilot project (our first ever experience with poultry) and we hope to expand.
So, we removed all the Lanterns and replaced with light bulbs of renewable energy (powered by power banks)

Feels good to be back, and we will continue giving you all timely updates!

Nice one! keep it up.

I am concerned at your use of kerosene lamp, It gives room to CRD either now or in their growing phase.

Use block to raise you charcoal pot at the middle.
Okay

I am just worried about the carbon monoxide (CO) & soot that would be produced by the lantern.
We started administering conflux today in addition to the antibiotics we have been administering from day one to keep those fume ingestion at bay from escalating to something hazardous.
Plus the breed we bought is the OBJ Marshall male line, and the marshals are known for their tolerance to heat and cold, meaning even if the heat isn't up to the needed temperature or the cold is prevalent, it would d still do well.
And we are aiding this resistance with antibiotics that has electrolyte as one of its component to help their body generate some temperature for itself.
So therefore, with the OBJ Marshal and the electrolyte, we have weather under control, with conflux we have fumes, cold and cough at bay!

I must confess, the birds have Alot of energy as they've been running around all over the place since we brought them in, and today being day3 we are already seeing difference in their weight and their white feathers are gradually coming out at the tip of their wings it's looking like they have good FCR, but let's see what they will look like after two weeks.
