Seriously I haven't hear anything since NVC approved my documents in may 7, is frustrating

You mean you have been documentary qualified (DQ) since May 7th?, that's like 6 months ago.

Is your spouse US citizen or LPR?

Maybe your spouse should contact NVC

Finally, a thread I have been looking for.

Please when is the best time to process and apply for birth certificate at NPC?, while waiting for NOA2 or after receiving NOA2?.

Cc : Legitbachelor, ojay2053, every other persons.

Meanwhile, let me share my progress so far.

Wedded at ikoyi : June 7th,

Wifey sent application with $535 money order: June 20th,

NOA1 received. : July 4th

Wifey is a permanent resident and not USA citizen yet until may 2020 that she will be naturalized, I heard the process is longer compared to USA citizen's spouse petition. Please how true is this?, and what is our likely waiting period to get NOA2?,

Have you ever asked yourself this question - what will i do when I get to the US? Let's use this period to learn a new skill or take an online course(from any accredited American college or university). Then take the certification exam when you get to the US. Let us use this period wisely!!!

You are right. I just completed fall 2019 and spring 2020 of my masters in the US online while waiting to migrate. I have cleared 1 out of two years for the program while still in Nigeria.

Good afternoon everyone,
I will really appreciate your help. My boyfriend is a citizen but he's currently filing for his elder brother in Nigeria, can he still apply for CR1 for me if we get married?

Yes, he can. As long as he meets the minimum income requirements and some other CR1 requirements as well

Its clearly stated.

Your petition is under review.

You won't get anything positive until an RFE or NOA2 notice which would likely take average of a year.

If I were you, I will calm down and forget about checking status frequently. Doing this frequently will only increase your anxiety, speed up your depression catalyst and make you restless which will make your mind miserable and unsettled. Trust me, the emotional torture will never yield anything good but more bitterness. You will end up hating life and counting calenders like a girl who missed her period.

Engage in anything positive, learn a skill or do a job to keep your mind busy..

If you want to check your status, once or twice in a month is recommended.

Secondly, don't waste your time going spiritual on the process and don't waste your time calling uscis, . Uscis will never skip previous batches to attend to you even if you are Buhari's child, and the automated responder will keep telling you to call back when your PD is displayed on the site. They handle cases batch by batch and the current month petition been handled is shown on the uscis website.
When the reciept dates on uscis page matches with your PD and you didn't get any notification of RFE or NOA2, you or your spouse can then call the uscis number or go spiritual against village people.

Merry xmas

You are right, checking frequently will only increase anxiety, nervousness and restlessness. My peace of mind was restored when I stopped checking status and focusing on another thing.

Dear friend and family I'm Emmanuel. I have been in a relationship with my USA citizen for 1 year and 3 months now and we want to make our love dreams come to pass by getting married I want to know the steps to take for the process rite from the beginning to the last day. We don't know steps to take I need someone to help me through it till she arrive to Nigeria.

I understand your anxiety. I understand the joy of having the LOYL coming over, tieing nut, and you flying delta airline to join him/her as LPR.

Just calm down cos after the petition, you will still wait average of a year b4 Noa2 approval.

The first thing you need to do now is to visit ikoyi or contact anyone there to register your wedding and get a date fixed

Infact, you will have it immediately the wedding officer pronounce you both as husband and wife..

You can register your marriage Atleast 2 months to your proposed date so as to get a slot on time because of the marriage crowds at ikoyi

As per the NPC birth certificate, I have an enquiry.

I was born in ondo state, I have non NPC birth cert from ondo state as well as using ondo state on all my forms. But now, I live in Lagos.

Can I get the NPC cert of ondo birth in Lagos?, or I will have to go to my state for it?, please help

If you live in Lagos, go to the NPC office in surulere. If you live in other states, go to the nearest local government office. You'll go with your passport photo and photocopies of your international passport. You'll also have to go there with money (N10,000 or thereabout) to pay them. That money goes into their pocket which is quite unfortunate.

@YoungIncredible, it takes less than a week to get your NPC Birth Certificate. I advice you get it asap as you would need it in your application with NVC (after getting NOA1). Note that what you'll get is the NPC Birth Certificate along with the Court Affidavit. Both are very important and must be submitted together to NVC.

The wait time is long. I hear it could take over 2 years. However the good news is that your wife can always update her petition the moment she acquires citizenship.

Thanks.
Please do you have any idea about the procedure of obtaining a birth certificate at NPC, and it's requirements?

Visa delayed at the Lagos consulate this morning

VO....Good morning
Me ....Good morning
VO .....So why did you chose this university.
Me.....I have been in constant communication with Prof Joseph Elarde even before I decided to apply. He is spareheading a reaserech on network security systems precisely offfensive-defensive based network security systems and I would be on his research team for the next two years. Besides this, the concentration at this university is information assurance and security unlike the other university that gave me admission that has cyber security has its concentration. Cyber security is a subset of information assurance and security. So going with this university is like killing two birds with one stone.
VO ....The course you told me you are going for is different from what I see on the i20.
Me.... Yes. The Tennessee higher education commission accreditation of computer science is registered on their database as warehousing and data database administration. I have a doc from the school that clarifies that. I gave it to him.

VO... so who is paying your tuition?
Me..... I got a GTA that covers my full cost of tuition and some Monthly stipends. The rest of the expenses will be sorted by my uncle and my personal savings. Passes the statement.

VO... tell me how you got this huge scholarship.
Me ..... The award committee must have been impressed by my SOP and my recommendation letters was written by professors who had adequate knowledge of my abilities during undergraduate studies.
Types forever ....
VO ......sorry I won’t be approving your visa at this time .....bla bla bla

Thanks for everyone for their inputs. I have to give it a break. Not giving up tho.

Bro, you tried.
I still don't know why we can't see the thin lines that the embassy& USA only want to be eating fat on visa and sevis fees.

More than 100 known applicants alone from nairaland in the past few months.
Less than 10 approved. Even people with funding.

May God heal our county.
I just read it somewhere that Nigeria got her independence same period with Singapore.
Today, Singapore passport is powerful than that of the US, while we keep getting rejected at the embassy in thousands daily.

It is well with us.
Unless you have ulterior motive in the USA, pls try other countries

With the current high denial rate at the USA embassy of recent even when students demonstrated pure intention and some with full funding still getting denied.

Except you have another ulterior motive in America, a real student applicant who truly desire to further education should simply BOYCOTT the USA and try out other countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand and some other better countries who will evaluate you based on your presented documents and not through "scammy" 2mins interview that will end up in rejection.

There are other countries with good educational system and will also offer PR after studies. All you need to do is extensive research.

Just look at the thread, for over 2 months, I could count up to 40 people who shared interview transcript, just 3 had an approval. I'm not talking about the ones who aren't bold enough to share their delayed transcript, not to talk of the ones outside nairaland.

It obvious that these people don't want us anymore. Even people on administrative processing with authentic bank statements are getting denied afterwards, then why should we continue to dash them 60k all in the name of re-applying?.

If you have been denied twice or thrice, bros, research other countries with good education system that will lead to PR if that's what you want. Like I said, other countries will judge you based on your documents. And even if you are denied, they will tell you the exact reason so that you will know what to work on.

Only the US will deny you with a generic blue paper, tell you that you are free to re-apply again. They will still re-deny you and still re-issue the same generic blue paper.

We know some people have made the whole thing difficult, but my people, US isn't a do or die affair. If they don't want you in their country, simply try another country who will gladly accept you.

Hello lagosniv,

I appeared for an F1 interview at Abuja Embassy on November 29 which went smoothly. But the consular placed me on Administrative processing and gave me a pink paper to submit my recent bank statement along with my passport to GSS collection center in Abuja which I did last week Monday 3rd of December.

On the pink paper, it was stated that in general case, visa will be issued within 2 weeks after dropping the requested documents. But my case haven't been updated since November 29th that I had the interview. Please I will like to ask.

1. How long does a case like mine takes for status to change from AP to issued?

2. Since my case haven't been updated since my interview date, could it be possible that GSS center haven't delivered my package to the embassy or they have misplaced it?.

3. How can I contact Abuja embassy to enquire about the status of my case/application?. Thanks.

Had my second attempt at the Abuja embassy today.

After seeing 6 people walking out with blue papers, I became distabilized immediately. My heart began to beat heavily and faster. On getting to the V.O, a black woman in window 10, she frowned at my "good morning" and my confidence was reduced to 5%.

I was talking and shaking at response to the questions even though I answered them well, but it was obvious in my response that I was shaky.

I want to take a break on applications and work on my confidence and how to face a v.o

Pls, can anyone suggest a way I can help myself out to build confidence please?.

P. S. I'm a naturally shy type and extremely introvert.

At 29, I can't even woo (toast) a girl confidently. My past relationships were arranged by my friends. It's a secret shame I have been trying to fight but I can't just help it anymore.

Hello guys. Please can anyone help me with any cheapest hotel close to Abuja embassy pleaseeeeee.

I'm very low on budget and I can't afford Sheraton.

I will be visiting Abuja for the first time, which of the parks will I stop at?, and how to get to the "cheap hotel"

Edakun.

I had my first hand experience at the embassy this morning and it was terrible. Denials everywhere. Someone in front of me with full funding and good expression was denied.

The vo was just cutting me 10 seconds after each questions. No chance to express myself, no chance to prove why I chose my school, course, and my post graduate plans which I have prepared answers to. 57,600 gone just like that in 2 minutes.

Honestly, our leaders need to work on our universities and make them world class. The rate of humiliation at the embassy is so high that grown up people are seen crying out of the exit door.

Its well with everyone.
