Does anyone know how long it’s taking these days from passport submission to collection please?

Just as a follow up. Got an email this morning saying my passport was ready for pick up at Lekki VFS. Collected this afternoon. 2 days after submission.

Submitted my application for a visit to The Netherlands at VFS, Lekki on Friday, May 5th. Passport returned to VFS and picked up by UPS on May 11th and delivered to me at home on Saturday, May 13. 8 days total. This is my second Schengen visa, first one was in 2014 and was valid for 3 months. This new one is valid for 6 months.

Docs submitted
Flight ticket
Hotel reservation for 8 day duration of trip
Intro letter from workplace
Cover letter detailing my plans and itinerary
Copy of marriage certificate
Copy of my child’s birth certificate
Copy of visa pages, expired and valid
3 months personal bank statements (2 usd and 1 naira)
3 months business bank statements
Copy of business reg docs
Excursion tickets - all paid for
Travel insurance

Bank statement balances were sort of low but inflow/outflow look very good showing day-day, month-month activity.
Expired visas - US, UK, Schengen
Valid visas - US, UK, Canada, Morocco

After Approved you will have to wait for it to change to Issue, then it will be transfer to DHL, So expect between 2-4 weeks.

March 23 - Submitted at Surulere
May 2 - Approved
May 3 - Issued
May 4 - Pick up text messages
May 5 - Collected

Submitted my passport for IW on March 23rd and status has finally changed to APPROVED today, Tuesday, May 2nd. Does anyone have any idea how long it will take for me to get my passport? I have a visa appointment on Friday, May 5th and wondering if I will have to reschedule it. Any ideas?

Please who has timeline for IW submission via surulere Lagos Dhl office. Went this Monday 17th April and I was so surprised how Empty it was. We were barely 5 people there for 8am submission. Does this mean the application will be faster since limited no of applicants?

Doesn’t look like there’s a definite timeline. I submitted on the 23rd of March at Surulere DHL and the place was empty that day too. Tracking still shows “Application received” 4 weeks later

Mid November 2022. Got April 28th IW date until the consulate by themselves brought it forward to March 13th. Couldn’t make that date so rescheduled to March 23rd. The only thing you can do is take what’s available

I just paid application fee to apply for us visa for my parent but instead of seeing a date calendar after the receipt had been confirmed, I saw this.

Has the process changed? Or did I make an error in the process?

The process has changed. They’ll send an email with a link for you to follow to get to the calendar. I got that email around 24-48 hours after I got this page

Same thing I did, it also pre-filled the other information except receipt number. And when that was manually typed, got the error message.

Could it have expired? Payment was made since November 2021.

You most likely have to contact them through the support chat or maybe call them

Please for anyone who’s done IW/Dropbox recently…what’s the quickest you’ve gotten your passport back? How long did it take from submission to collection? I hear it’s a standard 10 days but wondering if it’s been shorter for anyone

I clicked “schedule appointment” and answered all the normal IW qualification questions. Most of my info was already filled in like “receipt number” etc. and it took me to the calendar page to schedule the new appointment

Booked my appointment now for Thursday. Sorry I don’t know how long the payment is valid for but someone just said 1 year

DId you write the embassy when they rescheduled your appointment to March 13?

I missed the appointment but yesterday evening when I logged in to my dashboard, I saw that I could reschedule the appointment easily. Now went on to close the page without properly logging out and now my account has been frozen for 72 hours lol. So don’t make that mistake I made. Just wait, when her appointment date passes, go back in to the dashboard and you can reschedule easily

Please how long does it take to get your passport back from Abuja? I submitted my passport for visa stamping on Thursday, 2/3/23. Since Wednesday, 8/3/23 status when I track it is showing “your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada visa office to the Canada visa application centre…”.

In your experience, when do you think I’ll be able to get my passport back? I went to VFS on Friday but they didn’t have it. My main problem is my US IW appointment was brought forward and now I may miss that appointment.

Does anyone know how long it takes typically to get visa stamped and returned?

Lol. Yeah. I'm not around at the moment and have to make emergency flight arrangements.

Plus side is, it looks like a positive outcome. Not bad to be among the first to flex the 5 year visa.

My mum qualified for the interview waiver, she already submitted the application and scheduled an interview date to drop passport in April.

She got an email today the advising that the interview date has been brought forward to March 20. The issue is she's scheduled to travel before that date out of the country.

Is there anyone who has experienced this or knows what she needs to do to change the date to April. Her upcoming travel is important and she already factored the previous date when purchasing her ticket.[

Same thing just happened to me. My IW date was April 28 and I got an email today saying it’s now been brought forward to March 13th. That’s in 4 days. And my issue is my passport is currently at the Canada visa office for stamping of TRV. If I don’t get it back tomorrow, I can’t make this new IW appointment. So wrong how they just assume you have no set plans

Hello house, my ex husband and I got our B1/B2 visas together in 2016... N/B during my second trip, I was only asked about my hospital receipts and zero balance at the Poe. My ex or marital status was never mentioned.

Do you know if your ex relocated legally and not on the visit visa you got together? I feel like this may be the only issue you’ll have as divorce is not illegal. If he’s moved there with a visit visa, you MAY get some questioning about it and if you sincerely don’t know what his plans are, you can defend yourself, proving your innocence. Your divorce certificate may help you here to show you’re actually divorced and no longer part of each other’s lives.

I think you should travel with all your documentation. The burden of proof is on you so go with everything you’ll need to buttress your point. Enough cash to cover your bills, your old marriage docs, divorce docs, letter from new beau, all receipts from first birth, doc’s correspondence, any and everything you can think of.

Your visa expiring while you’re there is not an issue, your i94 stamp date is what’s important. They’ll stamp you in for as long as they want you to stay.

The thing is people think that thing only happens in naija( I was reading a story yesterday too about a guy who never studied law but goes to court and he got caught) , it happens everywhere! I’m so surprised Ten years passed and he put a lot of wives and mothers lives at risk. That man doesn’t have the slightest fear of God

This is exactly what I told my friend who sent me the link. Some people don’t fear God anymore. This man actually came on our radar when someone she knows planned to use this man. Prepaid him $4k, got to the US and couldn’t reach him (I guess this was when he got arrested or was on the run or something). Just knowingly putting people’s lives in danger. I think you would still be right to say we should still do our own research....no matter how small....at least we may find something.....better than using Dr XYZ just because 50% of NL mamas have used them....especially Nigerian doctors....we can ask about them from people we know who went to the same medical school or university they claim they went to in Nigeria....if they schooled here.....then again who can really tell...looks like he was trained as a doctor in Nigeria but started stealing identities, forging immigartion docs and SSNs in order to apply for licenses to take board exams and study abroad.

Let me go and google my doctor again!

Yup! This is what I assumed also. A lot of our people are just used to taking stupid unnecessary shortcuts when the straight and narrow will get them to where they’re going with peace of mind included. Like the Nigerian doctors who got proper certification after relocating have 2 heads. It’s like asking someone to read this thread to prepare for the journey, they refuse and go and meet an agent to “package” them. (I hate that word package because of this thing ehn) It’s all really a pity.

FYI Past Maryland mamas who used Dr Charles Akoda, please look at this link. I know a few mamas from earlier parts of this thread used this doctor. His name was pretty common back then.

I want to say let’s all be careful but this doctor even fooled the other doctors in his practice for 10 years, so there’s not much difference our own small research could have made.

If you’re travelling together, you can’t separate the money as you have to declare 14k as a family. They want to know how much cash your family is coming in with. There’s nothing wrong in declaring more than 10k. IMO, it’ll even help to show you have enough to cover your childbirth mission

Happy Sunday to everyone. Pls house, can I and my wife take more than 10k dollars when traveling for her child birth. Or may be we can share it like I take 7k, and she also take 7k dollars. For us not to declare more than 10k dollars when traveling. Though the bill and exp is like 8k. But we just want to prepare our self down. And we don't know which Nigeria bank is working in USA so that we don't face difficulty in bills payment. Your advise will be appreciated. Thanks.
