That Port have existed for a long time. I have been there. It serves industrial complexes in Onne (even Atiku's company, Intel's Logistics -now a new name, is there), and Trans-Amadi.

Do you know the scale of smuggling on land, air and sea on a daily basis? Smuggling is bad, whether it is done through Niger Republic, Chad, Benin Republic, Onne/Apapa Ports, Calabar, Cameron or Lagos.

But according to IPOD Yuuts, there is no port in the entire region.

There was also a fabrication that the incessant accidents that used to occur at the point were as a result of spiritual attachment to the monument. Statue After a while, precisely in 2004, the statues were burnt down at night by some unknown characters.

I was jejely waiting for the spiritual angle that religious nut heads would attach to the presence of the statues, and I didn't have to read for long before seeing it.
I wonder what will save Nigerians and black people from the strong grips of religion and spirituality.
The same people will run to London and Paris in a blink to go and snap selfies with statues dedicated to European deities.

BreakupNigeria:
Fyi, Igbos constitute over 70% of Rivers state and 40% of Delta state. The current governors of both states are Igbos. Get your facts right, in fact, in Rivers state only the Ogonis and Kalabari are non Igbos while in Delta, the whole of Delta north senatorial zone are Igbos.

Lies. Igbos were not up to a third of Delta in the last census, so Ibos in Delta are only about 31-32%

Igbos in Delta are between 40 and 50%. Which doesn't even matter much because Rivers is underperforming.

My fellow Igbos should hands off Yoruba political aspiration in Nigeria, whatever suit them let them do.

God knows the best, if Igbos have not gone into extinction in the last 50 years they will not go now even if Yoruba make Buhari the life president of Nigeria.

Time will tell, lets we Igbos focus on our own politics of Nigeria.

Good advice.
If Igbos feel Yorubas are fools for making the wrong person president there is nothing stopping them from forming their own coalition to do what they feel is right or in their best interests.

Igbos playing opposition just sucks.

* Number 6 is simply the same category as number 1, so in reality, you have only listed 5 drums.

* Omele is different from Sakara. Omeles are smaller models of drums beaten with hardened leather strips that accompany the bata, they are usually three miniature "drumlets" bound together and placed across the body.

There are also the following:

Akuba
Bembe
Gudugudu
Sakara
Igbin

And a few other important ones.

When it comes to drumming and percussion in general across Africa and probably the entire planet, Just give it up for the Yorubas.
That is the reason behind the success of our polyrhythmic music which is the very foundation of modern Nigerian music of today. improved upon by the addition of other modern spices of course.

My bad, because I thought he deviated slightly when he asked about different people, who settled down as citizens in Bénin Republic, which was the reason I told him about Borgu people, which is true, because, some of them were grouped alongside citizens of Bénin. One can see them through link from Kwara axis bordering Bénin.. Although, they are aren't Chadic but are Niger–Congo grouped. If he meant, other Chadic language speakers, I have no knowledge of such ,except more research are done, which was the reason ,I advised him to visit the place and the site I gave him. Even Nigèr citizens settled down in Bénin Republic, due to Francophone affinity. This is a country I had visited and lived at one time. The ethnologue of Bénin ,will help him a little.

Alright.
Yes there are many Nigeriens in Benin. Burkinabe too. Majority of Baribas are actually in Benin, the part in Nigeria seems to be the minor portion.

Culture / Re: Which Language Is The Most Difficult? Igbo, Yoruba Or Hausa? by YourNemesis: 2:45pm On May 27, 2018
staytravel:

You clearly didn't read what I said. My only comment on Hausa was that it's interesting to listen to. So I didn't make a comment as to whether it was easier or harder than the other two.
My only comparison was between Igbo and Yoruba.

For me, this is me speaking from my own experiences, so imposing your experience on me is offensive.
Yes, Igbo is restricted in terms of the vocab, which makes it hard for those who don't get the expressive nature of the language. Things are explained. The tone of Igbo makes it hard, similar to the English words there, where they're, all which sound the same but mean different things. Igbo words like Akwa and Igwe have several varying meanings depending on the tone.

Yoruba tenses used to be challenging for me when I was learning as well as changes when addressing different hierarchies/status of people.
Look a the boy in the video:

The most challenging thing for him is grasping the tonation.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_h0di1JW1g

Well, you weren't specific, they way you structured your reply also made it seems like you were talking about all three languages. My bad.
Yoruba is more tonal than Igbo as Yoruba has three tones as opposed to Igbo that has two (high and low), so for a two syllable word, whereas Igbo could hypothetically have up to 4 combinations for that word, Yoruba could have up to 9. Then there are Open and closed vowels on top of the tonal combinations, so for example, O vs Ọ, E vs E̩ (Igbo has those as well). So I could argue that with regards to tonality, Yoruba might be more confusing for a non native speaker on that front.

Honorary pronouns are not too much of a problem in my opinion, in-fact English seems to be an exception as one of the major global languages not to have it. In Spanish it is Tu vs Usted or Toi vs Vous in French. Not sure if Hausa has it (anyone who understands Hausa could shed some light),

At the end of the day every language seems to have its own crop of challenges, I think even you acknowledged it in your previous reply in the comparison btw Yor and Igb, and while I think some laguages are more expressive, beautiful or better sounding than others, the ease (or difficulty) associated with learning each ultimately depends on the interest.
Culture / Re: Which Language Is The Most Difficult? Igbo, Yoruba Or Hausa? by YourNemesis: 12:50pm On May 27, 2018
staytravel:

That's true. I learnt Yoruba and Igbo when I was younger, I always found it much easier to pronounce than Igbo.
Igbo has a lot of special sounds, it's very tonal. But it's simple to grasp once you get the tone.
Yoruba is much more complex and richer (vocab) as a language but easier (for me) to pronounce. I've never really tried to learn Hausa, but it's interesting to listen to.

A richer vocabulary is supposed to make a Language easier not harder, because you have a wider array of ways to express yourself and you can make a statement and express your opinions with a a repertoire of a much bigger terminology list.
Besides, what makes you think Yoruba is more complex than Hausa? You don't even speak Hausa yet you are making judgements based on how it sounds to you? Is it Hausa that does not have special sounds?
There is no way you will learn Hausa as an adult and speak it to a Kano inner city born and bred person, that your non native accent in the pronunciation won't be picked up immediately.

That being said,

I once read somewhere that the Igbo language has a restricted list of adjectives, only 8 basic adjectives or there abouts.
Njo in Igbo can mean bad, it can mean Ugly, it can mean wicked, it can mean evil, it can mean so many things as long as it is a generally undesirable trait.

Now, that seems to me like a limiting language, especially given the fact that adjectives are the spice of Language oral and written literature.

The truth is Abuja is the better option and hence the reason it was made FCT. Most Lagosians are ignorant: they are born in Lagos, raised in Lagos and will die in Lagos, so everything in their lives revolve around Lagos.

I've stayed in Lagos, PHC and Abuja and truly prefer PHC to LAG because the traffic can give someone heart attack. Just the thought of passing through Lagos during a journey gives me HBP.
Overall I prefer ABJ though -- very cool, calm and organized city.

What kind of mumuism is this?

So Abuja was the better option before it was made capital?

Please, someone tell me what does Abuja add to the national status of Nigeria?

Entertainment - 0
Manufacturing - 0
Wealth Creation - 0
Resources - 0
Agriculture - 0
Educational institutions - 8%
Culture/Organic vibe - 0

And people are hyping it. Yes my family have real estate properties in Abuja but I will never place Abuja side by side with Lagos on any occasion.
Lagos is a wealth generator, while Abuja is just a resource sink. Abuja doesn't even have up to 8 million people, and has more ample land for planning- Despite this, all of Abuja's so called satellite towns are still slums!

She's so fcukin outta point.

To begin with, compare the population of both cities, how congestedthey are...

Uber can never bill you 7k from Maryland to VI with same traffic condition as between Kubwa and Nyanya for 1600. Also, Lagos I built up while Abuja isn't in same level because you can't find any road in lagos with same superb engineering design as that of Abuja.

On the issue of no bribe by civil servants... She absolutely got it all wrong. Kindly ask her to visit FCDA, FERMA, FIRS, AGIS to mention only a few. These government's agencies only live on unlawful extortion. The Abuja Police are one of the worse though better than the ones in Lagos. The worst police team in Abuja are found at under Berger bridge.

On pollution, it is nominal... all cities have slums. Tell me what you at Galadimawa village, Karimo, Gwagwa, Aleeta, Tudun Wada,Etc...?

We choose where we want based on desires n opportunities.

I've live in both cities but in all fairness, Enugu remains my best choice while Akure takes the Silver medal and Jos the bronze winner.

The intonation and accentuation is way off from what I am accustomed to in Igbo.
