goalernestman: Only hear Oyo empire and Benin empire war by only Yoruba people. Did you want to still fake a fight that never happened as you fake Oyo empire Oyo and Benin empires didn't wage war on one another. How could they when one saw the other as a brother. Although Benin waged war on some Yoruba Kingdoms like Akure, Owo and Ado that was only because Oyo didn't care. Both empires had previously agreed on where to demarcate their boundary, Somewhere between Ekiti and Ilesha. I forgot the name of that village. |

The Yorubas Will Never Agree That Oduduwa Is From Benin. That Is The Main Entangled And Herculean Point. The Yorubas Believe Oduduwa The Father Of Oranmiyan Is Directly From Heaven Or Mecca. Oduduwa is from Oke Oramfe, a hill in the outskirts of Ife. |

Politically, Alaafin The Oba of Oyo, and The Obas of Benin I can say are neck and neck. So they are Equal in my opinion.
Reason being that Oyo exerted political influence over about 75% of Yorubaland and conquered non yoruba territories in Bariba, Nupe, Fon, Egun, and Aja. Even fought the Ashantis by leading a coalition between themselves and the Akyem in Ghana. Benin exerted political influence over the remaining 25% of Yorubaland, mostly in Ondo (Owo, Ondo town, Akure, Ikales etc), Ekiti, Lagos Island and the jekris (Itsekiri) and conquered non Edo territories in Anioma and where else.... maybe Urhobo and Isoko if we don't consider them as Edo based on linguistics.
Symbolically and Spiritually though, Ooni is above both. Though Ife never proved itself Militarily, it was more like a Vatican of sorts. Its power lay in its symbolism and mysticism. |

As a Benin man who has travelled far and wide I can tell you that you are an uninformed bigot and extremely unexposed
The south east have more population than the south west
I have lived in taraba, Adamawa, Kano , kaduna, anambra , enugu, Lagos , osun all for work because my job demands I travel alot and in every state I have gone you can find a group of igbos living and doing business You are too stupid to understand that the government has twisted census figures for years for political notices so stupid people like you can talk rubbing and chest beat like a lunatic
The problem I have with the South easterners is that they do not come out and vote
In anambra alone there were over 1.9 million registered voters but less than 700k picked up the PVC
You are too stupid to understand this aren't you?
In enugu same thing, in Imo same thing, the number of ibo in Lagos alone is more than some south Western States population Benin man, clap for yourself. |

Abagworo: Remove the Lagos PDP figures from Southwest votes and add to Southeast and also remove Abuja PDP votes and add to Southeast. That will give a more accurate estimate. Because Igbos are the only ones voting PDP in those places or what? You’ve forgotten that APC didn’t win any of the FCT’s local councils this year. Oya let’s remove the Rivers APC figures and add it to SW or NW Na That is just how what your idea sounds like. |

nwabobo: The mistake your type make is that they limit the number of Igbo voters to the number of voters registered in the South East. Any sane Nigerian knows there are more Igbos living outside the South East than those living in the South East. Lagos alone has 2.4M Igbo voters; reason Asiwaju and his thugs are panicking about what the Igbos can do to Sanwo Olu if they come out to vote. If there are 2.4 Million igbo voters in Lagos state, how many voters are now in Lagos state in total? Yes there are igbos outside Igboland, but the number is mostly usually artificially inflated by Igbos for some other motives. That was what Agbaje was relying n 2011 that led to his disgrace. You Igbos should learn to be sincere with the people who depend on you like Atiku and co, so that they can do proper strategic planning ahead. |

Besides, Igbos by themselves can not determine the direction any national election result will go. They usually need another region to vote in the same pattern to make a significant enough impact, Usually SS. But this time, the SS states all had their own individual interests from Delta to Akwa Ibom to Edo to Bayelsa. nwabobo: The mistake your type make is that they limit the number of Igbo voters to the number of voters registered in the South East. Igbos are not as populated as Yorubas. While Yorubas can afford to vote 40 or even 45% for one party and still give 55% to the winners while managing it, Igbos can't afford to even give away as little as 25% of their votes to another political party, It would be disastrous. And that is exactly what has played out here.
Forget all those massive 99% turnout figures in the SE from previous years- they were all cooked up figures that couldn’t be done this year because power had changed axis long ago. |

All the culture (material or inmaterial) that Africans are busy discarding in favour of Western ideals will simply be taken over by the same westerners and repackaged for people in their own societies.
Then the very same Africans, will start using the same things they discarded a while ago because it was African and too “local”, with a renewed sense of “Swag” because say some Oyinbo don dey use am....

yorubas dont eat starch n banga/ohwo, or ukodo like itsekiris
itsekiris dress very different from Yoruba
N yorubas dont answer names like uduaghan, okorodudu, ugboroke, origho what has eating starch or banga got to do with their basic origin lol As an example, Cassava where they get the starch from isn't even from West Africa, but rather Brazil. So are you saying that before the Portuguese brought Tapioca to our shores, Itsekiris were identity-less? Yorubas don't answer Uduaghan or Origho same way Ekitis don't answer Odumosu or Shonnaike, and same way Oyos don't answer Adanikin. Clans clans clans. But you can see both an Itsekiri and a Yoruba bearing Olushola Ikuesan or Toju Erejuwa. |

OlaoChi: . I'm not talking about his identity. It's the name.. It doesn't sound itsekiri that's why I ask you for the etymology
You obviously do not study much if you don't know Itsekiri is a Yoruba dialect and the bini royal family is from Ife They are Itsekiri names though.. Aghan in Itsekiri is Awan (Awon) in Yoruba. Dudu is black in yoruboid. Okoro in Okorodudu is the Okoro of Edoid origin, so that probably came via their Benin or Urhobo neighbours, I think the binis say it means Prince. So ...... Dark prince or something. Udu can mean anything. Not everything will come out direct or look very obviously the same with MSY (Modern standar Yoruba) |
