A Niger Delta University student was forced to dance for several hours after he was caught stealing phones at the Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

The male student whose identity was not disclosed was said to have stormed the school to steal but luck wasn't fair on him so he got caught in the act.

A source who shared the story on Instagram disclosed that the student succeeded in stealing four phones but was apprehended while selling them to unsuspecting buyers.

As if the dance punishment was not enough, the student was also tortured while he danced.

He was later asked to hail move buckets and hail people loudly while they passed with occasional strokes of cane landing on his buttocks.

A two-year-old girl, Destiny Kelvin, was tied to a tree and set ablaze by her uncle Leo Ewa, because she defecated indiscriminately around the compound and the neighbour's garden.

The unfortunate incident happened in Akampka Local Government Area of Cross River State.

However, a Non-Governmental Organization, Child Protection Network, CPN, has rescued the poor girl while the suspect who is her dad's elder brother has been arrested by the police.

The minor who is currently undergoing treatment has, however, been handed over to the Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, BRCI.

According to the NGO, the minor sustained high degree injuries and her feet were burnt during the torture which has resulted in her inability to stand or sit.

The BCRI has, however, revealed its resolve to see that the suspect is brought to book for committing such dastardly act.

Natives of the affected villages in Plateau State have reportedly fled their homes after going back to bury their relatives who were killed in the genocide of last weekend.

Heavily armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen wreaked havoc in some villages in the state.

Hundreds of men dressed in black, some of them with their faces covered, surrounded the villages and began shooting from nearby hills, the villagers said in accounts confirmed by police.

Mafwak Mature, 68, burst into tears in front of the mass grave where his neighbours are buried. “Those who attacked us burnt everything,” he told AFP.

“My house has been razed, they looted all the valuable items, the motorbikes, the fertilisers I used for my farm, even the television.

“All I have left are the clothes I am wearing now,” he added, pointing to his worn grey suit.

When the first shots rang out around the remote village on Saturday at about 3:00 pm, many people in Nghar instinctively shut themselves away and prayed to God to save them.

Thirteen people from the same family were trapped and burnt alive when the gunmen set their house on fire. Their blackened bodies were taken away the next day on what was left of the corrugated roofs. Those who tried to flee were brutally cut down.

In Nghar and other villages, residents blame nomadic ethnic Fulani Muslim herders of carrying out the attacks against “indigenous” mainly Christian farming communities.

Last weekend's attack was the latest in the series of attacks by the Fulani herdsmen who have held states across the federation hostage.

Plateau has historically been a hotbed of violence between Christians and Muslims, which make up roughly half of Nigeria’s more than 180 million people. But unlike in other central states such as Benue or Taraba, which have also seen bloody communal clashes since January, there has been a fragile peace in recent years.

Reconciliation efforts have been brokered by the authorities and non-governmental organisations. With a resurgence in tensions, some settled Fulani who have lived and traded alongside the local ethnic Berom majority for generations, fear being lumped in with the troublemakers.

“Those who came here are foreigners, we don’t know anything about them,” said the head of the Fulani community in Nghar, Chiroma Yacu.

“I was born here and my father died here. We have been living in peace together for a long time.”

Now there is suspicion. By gutted homes and still-smouldering burnt-out cars, Christians point bitterly at Muslim areas which were mostly spared from the wave of violence.

In the village of Ganaropp, where 35 people were killed on Saturday, “people who fled to the mosque were lucky”, said Pam Nuhu.

“We were eating our evening meal when the shootings started around 5:30,” the 54-year-old father of seven children recalled calmly.

“I asked my family to run for their life and to go to the church. My first son was shot dead in the forehead. He was 19 years old and had just finished secondary school.”

Nuhu and others like him who lost everything are now on the move. Mattresses, televisions, plastic bowls and sacks of rice are loaded onto the roofs of old cars or rented goods lorry. One after the other, in deathly silence, heavily armed soldiers and police escort families as they drive to more secure nearby towns.

“I’m leaving to Mangu because I’m afraid, I’m really afraid,” said Paulina Auta, as she carried huge bags from her house to a grey people-carrier.

“I don’t know what I can do now, I have to start again from scratch, but if I live in this town they will come and do it again.”

A Cameroonian couple broke the internet today with a video of them making a blood covenant to seal up their love and possibly prevent either of them from cheating.

The couple took to Facebook to share the video of themselves sucking at their own blood at the same time.

From the video, the duo apparently cut themselves and the woman appeared to be in pains as the blood flowed freely.

Perhaps, the couple did not trust themselves enough to have a relationship without either party cheating on them.

Blood covenant is an archaic practice which dates back to the 60's when our forefathers practised it.



The action by the couple sparked confusion because not only is the practice outdated, it is also barbaric.

The Federal Government has disclosed that it will begin artificial insemination of cattle at its different research institutes and centres in a bid to increase the numbers of cows in the country and at the same time, boost milk production.

Chief Audu Ogbeh, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, said this while speaking with youths at a `Leadership Clinic’ organised by the Guardians of the Nation International (GOTNI) in Abuja.

The minister disclosed that the move will kick-start a programme known as `Milk River Project’ which the government was planning to launch soon.

According to him, the insemination would require the importation of semen from countries like Europe and Brazil to inject into local cows to be able to produce many calves.

“There is a new project that is coming. It is known as the Milk River Project.



“We are going to start doing multiplications of cows now at different centres.

“We bring the semen from Europe, Brazil, sort them out, the female and the male, inseminate the local cows, it produces calves and at 6 months, we wean them, sell them at a cheaper rate to youths.

Fans travelling to Russia for the World Cup 2018 will be allowed to carry cocaine, cannabis, heroin and even codeine which was recently banned by the Nigerian government.

However, such persons will need to provide authentic medical paperwork from a verified-nurse or doctor.

In a statement issued by Russia's World Cup organizing committee to The Moscow Times, it noted that security will be tasked with verifying the authenticity of drug prescriptions.

The Moscow Times reports the Eurasian Economic Union, which involves countries such as Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, allows for certain narcotics to be brought into the country with supporting medical documents written in English or Russian language.

Russia's World Cup organizing committee released a statement to The Moscow Times saying security will be tasked with verifying the authenticity of drug prescriptions.



FIFA rules also allow fans to bring the narcotics into the stadium if they have a prescription for the drug and are in their original packaging.

"Security officers will monitor the enforcement of rules for carrying prescription drugs to stadium grounds at checkpoints. The full list of substances allowed into Russia as it hosts the World Cup events between June 14 to July 15 will allow for cocaine, codeine, morphine, amphetamines and cannabis," the organizing committee said.

FIFA rules also allow fans to bring the narcotics into the stadium if they have a prescription for the drug and are in their original packaging.

A special law enforcement agency is to be put together by World Cup committee to verify supporter's paperwork and ensure that it is all legitimate.

A mother-of-two who tried to pull a surprise to her husband by going to have a surgery for breast enlargement got what she never bargained for.

The 30-year-old woman identified as Galina Rakushina from Lipetsk in western Russia was unfortunate to have given up the ghost after falling into a coma for more than a year.

Rakushina was given anaesthetic drugs during the operation but her heart stopped soon afterwards. Medics restarted her heart after three minutes but she couldn't make it as her brain had been without oxygen for too long.

The news of her death shattered the family who had kept on for the 13 months she was in coma hoping to have her back alive.

Authorities have launched a criminal case into the woman’s death who is the latest in the toll of death cases linked to plastic surgery in Moscow clinics.

As in other cases, investigators are probing the quality of anaesthetic drugs used ahead of the surgery amid concerns over the regulation of plastic surgery clinics in the capital.

A friend of the deceased woman said she wanted to surprise her husband by enlarging her breasts after having her children.

“She had secretly saved money for the operation,” the friend said.

More trouble seems to loom for Senate President Bukola Saraki over his alleged link with the Offa robbery in Kwara State.

One of the suspects named in the case has been spotted rocking an Aso Ebi material which is exactly the same thing with the one worn at the wedding ceremony of the Senate president's daughter.

This has further intensified the allegations against the Senate president and Kwara state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Recall that Bukola had distanced himself from the claims by the suspects who killed about 33 persons during the operation.

Earlier, the Police invited him for questioning and later cancelled the invitation, after opting for a written statement.

A significant progress has been recorded so far in the investigation which was ordered by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris.

Nigerian rap star, Falz the Bad Guy became an internet sensation after he dropped a song ‘This is Nigeria’ detailing the ills inherent in Nigeria.

Not like he has not been in the headlines before the song, but you know how controversy drags one to the limelight and lets them stay there for as long as they remain controversial.

'This is Nigeria' has been the most talked about Single and music video since its release last Sunday. It has actually gone global and attracted the attention of international media big names like CNN who stylishly took a swipe at Nigeria while trying to appear objective in their reportage.

Falz has received both knocks and pats on the back alike for his song in which he portrayed what goes on across the country even though in a somewhat light manner.

For a fact, what is portrayed in ‘This is Nigeria’ is no different from what an average Nigerian goes through in their struggle for survival in the country.



Unfortunately, it is like a nightmare which nobody wants to wake up from for fear of having their heads yanked off from their bodies like some tree effortlessly sawed down within a twinkle of an eye.

People are slaughtered like animals on a daily basis, and it is not like the people behind the killings are not know, yet the government is seemingly quiet about the genocide cases across the country.

Fulani herdsmen have made human lives seem like they are those of mosquitoes which are carelessly killed to get rid of the malaria-ridden organisms.

We are greeted with one attack or the other in different locations of the country where the loyalists have held hostage and have continued to wreak havoc.

By October 1, 2018, Nigeria will clock 58 years since independence but it appears like not quite so much has changed since we escaped from the grips of colonial masters.



Perhaps, the many troubles have pushed a lot of people into seeking solace in the churches where they end up losing more than they are probably trying to recover.

Some churches have been criticized for building schools and placing the fees so high that they are so unaffordable for people who contributed so much to their establishment.

The truth is, what Falz portrayed in the music is what a lot of people are too scared to voice out despite observing them every day.

It even seems more difficult under the current administration where freedom of speech seems threatened as people carefully choose their words to avoid being ‘witch-hunted’ by political desperadoes who daily strive for people to bully.

It still beats me that the Fulani herdsmen have not been proscribed the same way the government was quick to proscribe the Igbo secessionists under the auspices of IPOB. And to think that they were not as violent and bloodthirsty as the Fulani herdsmen make it more puzzling.

The message Zinedine Zidane sent to Real Madrid players before he resigned as their manager on Thursday has been revealed.

Zidane walked away after leading Los Blancos to three successive Champions League titles.

The 45-year-old made the shocking announcement at a press conference with club president, Florentino Perez.

According to Sport, Zidane only told one Madrid player in person that he would be departing, and the player was his captain, Sergio Ramos.

He, however, informed the rest of the team of his exit via an emotional WhatsApp message.

In his message, Zidane reportedly told his players: “Thanks for everything. Without your support in the hardest moments, none of what we have achieved would have been possible.

An applicant for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force, Christiana Danjuma, slumped and died while undergoing medical screening in Abuja.

This was contained in a statement issued by the force spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, on Friday evening.

Moshood, an assistant commissioner of police, said that the deceased with number PSCRKD094 slumped and died while filling the medical test form.

She was rushed to the National Hospital, Abuja, where she was confirmed dead.

He said that her corpse, earlier deposited at the National Hospital Mortuary, has been released to her family.



The spokesman said that the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has directed a full investigation into the death.

Mr Moshood said Mr Idris also commiserated with her family, and the government and people of her state, Kaduna, over the sudden death.

President Muhammadu Buhari recently gave approval for recruitment of 6,000 police constables to address manpower shortage in the force.

Senator Dino Melaye has alleged plot to plant arms in his village and constituency office in Kabba in a bid to incriminate him.

The lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly who has been facing a series of trials by the police took to his official Instagram page to share documents to prove that nothing was found in his house following a search warrant issued by the police.

He wrote: "Warrant of search on my house by the Nigerian police. Execution of search warrant. Nothing found.

"Now there is a plan to plant arms In my village house and constituency office in Kabba and incriminate me. We are watchful and waiting."

Recall that some suspects had fingered the lawmaker as their sponsor who provided them with arms with which they perpetrate crime across the state.

The lawmaker was subsequently summoned for arraignment following the allegations.

He had on April 24, 2018, jumped off a moving police vehicle en route Kogi State where he was to be interrogated by the police in connection to a murder case and other criminal activities connected to his name.

Melaye who was subsequently hospitalized for weeks has continued to allege threat to his life.

A woman got tongues tied after she got married to her long-lost daughter and then her son in a very puzzling case of incest.

The 45-year-old woman identified as Patricia Spann, lost custody of her daughter and two sons but reunited with Misty, 26.

The pair got wedded two years later, soon after same-sex marriages were legalised in the state of Oklahoma, USA.

But after an employee of the Department of Human Services found out about their biological link during a child welfare check-up, both women were charged with fraud.

Patricia told the DHS worker that she and Misty had “hit it off” after being reunited.

She added that she believed their marriage was legal, as her name was no longer on her daughter’s birth certificate. Their marriage was annulled in October 2017.

Patricia married her son Lawton – who was 18 – in 2008. The union was annulled two years later at his request.

While no charges were brought following that relationship, Patricia has been jailed for two years following her marriage to her daughter.

She was also sentenced to eight years on probation, and will be required to register as a sex offender on her release from prison.

Cancer is one disease that is dreaded by all and sundry owing to the rate at which it kills victims.

Breast cancer is still the most invasive cancer in women, although the survival rates are rising as screening and treatment improve.

Scientists have identified the mechanism that allows breast cancer cells to lie dormant in other parts of the body, only to reemerge years later with lethal force.

According to a study published on Tuesday, researchers discovered that disabling the mechanism with drugs or gene manipulation crippled the cancer cells and inhibited their capacity to spread.

The study noted that the discovery reported in the journal Nature Communications provides a promising target for the development of breast cancer therapies.

Some 90 percent of breast cancer deaths occur with metastasis when the disease moves to other organs or parts of the body.

Residents of the Ikeja Lagos State were shocked when an 18-year-old girl, narrated how her biological father molested her for four years.

Folorunsho Oluwaseun was arraigned before a Special and Sexual Offences Court, sitting in Ikeja, for allegedly luring her daughter by telling her he would suck her breasts to make them as big as her mates.

The victim who is the first prosecution witness in an ongoing trial involving her father and Lagos State before Justice Sybil Nwaka narrated to the court how the defendant ended up sexually molesting her from when she was 12 years old.

Led in evidence by the prosecuting counsel, Babajide Boye, she informed the court that the father started abusing her sexually right from when she was 12 years old, at their one-room apartment in Ikorodu.

The victim who has not been named said the abuse started when she was in JSS 3 after her dad told her that her breasts were not as big as those of her mates and that he would help her suck them out with his mouth.



She said: “He asked me to sleep with him on the bed and he began to suck my breasts. The following day, I told my younger sister about the incident and she condemned it.

“The following week, he told me that I am not as fat as my mates and that he would pour sperm inside me so that I can be as fat. I allowed him have sex with me and thereafter, he gave me salt water to drink.”

The victim said her father continued to abuse her sexually and she hinted her younger sister who said it is a curse and that the bible condemns it.

According to her, "I said same to my dad, but he said it is not a curse because God knows that he does not have a wife. I attempted to stop him, but he denied me and my siblings food for days until I gave in again.

Another case of mace theft has been recorded a few weeks after some hoodlums invaded the National Assembly in Abuja and snatched the mace.

Pandemonium broke out at the Gombe State House of Assembly, on Thursday during an attempt to impeach the Minority Leader, Ahmed Usman Haruna.

Attempts to impeach the Minority Leader failed following a physical confrontation among members which led to the whisking away of the House Mace, its symbol of authority.

DailyNaija learnt that a member against the impeachment overpowered the Sergeant-at-arms of the House before the mace was stolen from the chambers.

Security operatives in the premises were said to have been unable to stop the member from taking away the mace.

However, the IGP who is currently trending for a viral video of him struggling to read a speech told the members of the Senate Investigative Panel on the matter that he is not ready to answer any question directed to him.

IGP Idris appeared in the company of some of his junior colleagues and a counsel to represent him.

According to him, his counsel would be the one to respond to any questions directed to him by the panel.

The chairman of the Senate investigative panel after receiving the documents brought by the IGP meant to back him up dismissed the sitting as he noted that the panel would get back to the IGP after scrutinising the documents.

Recall that the Senate had declared the IGP unfit for public office following his failure to honour its summons for three consecutive times.

While virtually everyone spends time praying for long life because they deem it a gift, a 128-year-old woman who will soon become 129 years old has lamented that her longevity is actually a punishment from God.

The woman Koku Istambulova, from Chechnya Russia has been quoted as saying that her long life is nothing but “punishment.”

According to her, she has not had a single happy day in her entire life despite putting in serious hard work digging the garden.

She said: "I have not had a single happy day in my life. I have always worked hard, digging in the garden. I am tired.

“Long life is not at all God’s gift for me — but a punishment.

“Looking back at my unhappy life, I wish I had died when I was young. I worked all my life.

“I did not have time for rest or entertainment. We were either digging the ground or planting the watermelons.

“When I was working, my days were running one by one. And now, I am not living, I am just dragging through.”

Officials say all her documents were lost during the Second Chechen War from 1999 to 2009.

The pension fund, a state body, claims there are 37 people over 110 years of age in Russia yet all these claims, including Istambulova’s, are impossible to verify because of the lack of reliable birth or early childhood written records.

Most live, like Istambulova, in the Caucasus which has a history of longevity among its peoples.

Meanwhile, her 129th birthday is upcoming.

Istambulova, who shuns meat but loves fermented milk, believes it simply is ‘God’s will’ that she will live to see 129th birthday next month.

The claim that Istambulova is about to turn 129 is made by the Russian Government and is based on her national ID card, which shows her date of birth as June 1, 1889.

This means that if the record is anything to go by, Istambulova was already 27 when the Russian Revolution unseated Tsar Nicholas II, 55, when the World War II ended; and 102 when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991.

Asked how she lived so long, Istambulova told an interviewer: "It was God’s will. I did nothing to make it happen."

Relatives say five years ago, she lost her only surviving daughter, Tamara, who died at the age of 104.

It was learnt that Istambulova is quite articulate and still able to feed herself and walk, but her eyesight is failing.

The Senate on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, finally passed the 2018 Appropriation Bill.

This was following several back and forths in the consideration and adoption of the report by the joint National Assembly Committee on Appropriation.

DailyNaija reports that the report was laid before the Senate on Tuesday, while the lawmakers considered and adopted it at an extended plenary on Wednesday.

The same version of the report was presented in the Senate and House of Representatives.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari presented the bill to the National Assembly in November 2017.

A strange crocodile attacked a bride a few days to her wedding and battered her right arm.

Consequently, Zimbabwe game rangers went in search of the killer crocodile and upon gunning it down, they killed it.

The newly-wed, Zanele Ndlovu-Fox, proceeded with her wedding to her to British heartthrob, Jamie Fox, with her battered arm in a bandage.

The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority in a statement via its spokesperson, Tinashe Farawo, said: “We have since managed to track and kill the crocodile because since it tasted human blood, it was bound to be a problem.”

The killer crocodile viciously attacked Zanele Ndlovu as they were canoeing an inflatable boat with other tourists on the Zambezi River above the Victoria Falls.

It is reported that the crocodile punctured their boat and then grabbed Ndlovu’s arm and repeatedly tried to drag her under the water.

She was eventually rescued by her husband and their canoe guides, but her right arm was so badly injured it had to be amputated above the elbow.

President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Abuja for London where he is scheduled to meet with his doctors.

The presidential aircraft conveying the president and few of his aides took-off from the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at 3.20 p.m.

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Muhammad Bello, the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari were among those at the airport to bid the president farewell.

Others included members of the president’s media team Mr. Femi Adesina, Malam Garba Shehu, as well as other presidential aides.

Garba Shehu had on Monday in a statement said President Buhari would on Tuesday begin a four-day medical trip to the UK.

He said “in the course of the technical stop-over for aircraft maintenance in London on his way back from Washington last week, the president had a meeting with his doctor.

“The doctor requested the president to return for a meeting which he agreed to do.”

Shehu added that the president, who would return on May 12, would undertake a two-day visit to Jigawa, which was postponed because of the All Progressives Congress’s Ward Congresses.

He said the visit would last between May 14 and May 15.

President Buhari first went on medical vacation on Jan. 19, 2017 and returned later than he planned and declared that he had never felt so ill in his life.

The president returned for treatment on May 7, 2017 and came back after 103 days.

Before leaving Abuja on Tuesday, May 8, Buhari received Letters of Credence from ambassadors of Netherlands, Republic of Botswana and Lebanon to Nigeria, where he stressed the need for sustained financial, technical and capacity building from the international community to mitigate the effects of climate change in the country.

A video has surfaced online of two ladies said to be prostitutes fighting publicly over a male customer in Enugu State.

The two fighters were said to have had a disagreement over the client in question which eventually led to a serious brawl.

They tore their clothes and got themselves naked during the melee on the sidewalk of the scene.

Eyewitnesses could be seen minding their businesses and enjoying the show of shame until some of them decided to separate the two fighters.

Initially, voices of some onlookers were head in the background warning the person who went to separate them to leave them to fight well.

Trust Nigerians to make a good use of their phones to record the embarrassing fight and of course share on social media for the rest of us who were not fortunate enough to be at the scene to witness the fight first hand.

A woman has cut off her boyfriend's penis with gardening scissors after she realised that he showed his friends their homemade sex tape.

The 26-year-old Argentine woman, Brenda Barattini allegedly committed the revenge attack in the Nueva Cordoba area of the Argentine city of Cordoba leaving her 40-year-old boyfriend with 90 percent of his penis chopped off, and in life-threatening condition.

Barattini, who is serving imprisonment without bail ahead of her trial, said she suffered great psychological harm because of the leaked tape by her boyfriend Sergio Fernandez.

“I cut his penis but not completely: I injured him. It wasn’t complete: I injured him,” she said, according to a translation of her jail interview.

The man has been left depressed, one of his attorneys said, as he waits for future operations.

According to Fox News, hospital employees were unable to reattach Fernandez penis.

The incident rings similar to the case of Lorena Bobbitt, a woman who, in 1993, cut off her husband’s penis while he was sleeping.

Bobbitt said she did it because she “snapped” after her husband allegedly raped her the previous night.
