polls could be conducted on NL some yesteryears but why it was removed, i dont know

We all know the only way to make direct contact with a nairaland member is through the PM where a message is sent to the person's email address.

First thing first, using email to make contact is very very outdated unless it is business related.

secondly, no one has time to check their mail regularly in anticipation of a reply to a NL PM & when you accidentally come across a mail that is from a Nl member, it is either the message has gone cold or one might simply not have the strength to cluck the link.

thirdly, fourthly ...

i can go on & on but the point is nairaland should have an integrated with private messaging on the site by now where people can communicate directly without having to constantly go to our mails.
its 2017. Instant Messaging has come to stay & its still a suprise how those in charge still do not see this as an issue. alot of transactions occur on NL like how i bought my current phone from a contact i met on Nl. i know the beauty of nairaland is in its anonymity but that should still not stop people from communicating freely if they choose.
