Yusuf I am not part of those that argue religiousThis will be my last post as regards this But are you talking about someone he met when he was less than 10 years, the meeting which didn't last a day? He was able to cram 114 chapters in a meeting that didn't last a day? He was able to predict the future (surat Rum) just by this meeting with the so-called jew? And to make you argument a whole lot interesting, this meeting happened before he was 10, Like Allah said in one of His verses, nothing will make you guys believe, you will continue to ask questions, you will continue to wander, still looking for excuses. Reason; Allah guides whom he wills, and for those that are misled, will be wandering until death comes. Just like the jews refused Jesus, the christians refused Mohammed. as for those talking about the bible being putThe Qu'ran was compiled during the caliphate of Uthman Bin Affan (the 3rd Calliph), a result of what you have pointed out; 1, there were beginning to have new versions, due to the change in tongues and meanings. Just like an Ibadan guy will speak a different yoruba compared to a lagosian, different meanings were being given to it. And 2, just like you said, the sahabas who memorised the full Qur'anic texts were being murdered. The same arguments were presented to Uthman, and was advised to compile the full texts in a book so as to be a reference. Then, the copy present in Umm Samamah (one of the wives of the prophet) was the one used for compilation - the full meanings and tongue preserved. The other versions burnt and the compiled one distributed around, the same one we have today. Have you asked yourself; why is it that when you check 90 percent of the arabic Qur'an, on each page you find the same word, the same letter, throughout for the complete 114 chapters? Reason; to preserve the meanings, so that we won't have adulterated versions. BTW, the other 10 percent are different just for compression; to reduce them to pocket sized versions. Do you think when Allah was joking when He said He was the one that will protect the Qur'an? These are the methods of preservation, the same way we recite the Qur'an anytime we pray so that we continue to memorise it, someone can't recite Sura Fatiha another way, nobody will pray under such person. These are preservation methods. The Qur'an is the last revelation, and Allah has made it a duty upon Himself to protect it, it's not written by the companions - the way the Bible was written by companions, the Pauls, the Banabas, , NO. The Qur'an was revealed during the life of the last prophet, and revelations stopped after he died! |

You know, I don't really get upset by the amount of bigotry and hate shown on this forum towards Islam, the earliest scholars suffered the same, but that hasn't changed the truth one bit, has it? The truth still remains that your arrogance has blindfolded you, and as a result, you are being lead astray. It has been written in several portions of the Qur'an about how the christians hid some of the revelations that predicts the coming of Mohammed, and this just proves it (at least, for those that have their doubts). Come to think of it, Mohammed came 570 years after the so called 'death' of Jesus; an unlettered person that couldn't read nd write for all years of his life and was relating stories about prophets - Adam, Solomon, David, Moses, even Jesus, about his miraculous birth - and you guys still refer to him as a liar despite the fact that you can affirm these stories? All the hatred you guys have for him is simply cos he said the truth - that Jesus is just only a messenger; a man not different from Moses, Solomon, Abraham, A man sent by God to warn his people. Not more than that, A messenger of God! You know I was reading the other topic of on this forum about how the body of a dead islamic saint was still fresh upon exhumation after 10 years and you guys were still spewing hated, about how it's a lie, Some even requested for pictures for confirmation, while others gave scientific evidences why such shouldn't be attributed to spirituality. You guys are worse than Pharaoh: when God asked Moses to throw down his stick which turned to serpent after Moses had done that, Pharaoh said ' this is nothing except magic. He called all the magicians and even after Moses' serpent swallowed all of theirs, he still wasn't satisfied, he still never believed that it was God's handiwork. I'm sure, if that division of the Red Sea happened now, you guys will still be giving scientific rubbish about how it is scientifically possible. Pharaoh didn't believe that also, until death overtook him and he said; I believe in the God of Moses. The same thing is happening here, all proofs that Islam is the only true religion - that Jesus is only a messenger of God - will still fall on you guys deaf eyes, until death overtake you (I pray you know the truth before then), then the truth will be clear! |
I'm a fan, and I like the fact that he's ambitious, buh seriously, I believe he's getting over ambitious, Well like someone here said, he has the right to vote and be voted for, but as for me, I can't vote for him Why can't I do that, simple, I'll never vote for someone that doesn't know how to manage his home. As a person aspiring to be a leader, your house is the first point of call, if you can't manage your home, how can you manage the populace. Not only that though, I believe he's arrogant, He says trash sometimes, talks to people anyhow and can also be very mean (a reference to the way he referred to Baba Nee, and the way he referred to the media in the famous convo between himself and Ruggedman). All in all, I don't think he can be a good leader anyways, but judging be nigerian politics, we vote based on names and parties, not on ability, so he can be there if he mixes with the right people and with a good platform. |
I've been monitoring the activities of Google recently and I see that it sees Nigeria as a good market place to spread it's tentacles to. First, we have Google Trader, then we have YouTube.co.ng, this is after the so called website platform for SMEs (can't remember the name now). For those of you saying it's only competition to the market, understand that entreprenuers in Nigeria don't have the financial muscle of Google, so it's killing them literarily. And for those that don't know Google; it's too aggressive. Google wants to be everywhere, it wants to control everything online. Why do you think it invested so much into Google+ after it had failed on several attempts in social media? Simply because its getting jealous of how facebook has changed the online world, it wanted a slice of the social media ads. Recently, Eric Schmidt was made to defend it's company's monopolistic operation (don't know the end of the case though). One thing clear; Google is just too aggressive, and if it doesn't care if it sweeps everybody away from the market. All it wants is total domination. I even hear it is now in the TV market; Google TV. So brace up Nigerians, these guys are coming here with everything jst to rule our market here. |
@ poster There is only one thing I can deduce, you are just a muslim by name (sorry if that offends you), you don't know why you are a muslim. Or better put it, you are a muslim because you parents are muslims. And that is where the problem lies, until you invest time in your religion - like the way you invest time in your education - you'll continue to be pushed around. Remember the first article of faith; know who God is before you worship him, if you don't know him, how can you worship him? If you invest your time and money on educating yourself about Islam, first you will be able to defend your religion and at the same time, you will know you are on the right path. Remember you only have one life to live, and the sole purpose of creation is to worship Allah, so it will be nice to educate yourself on Islam because that is the most important thing; that is why you are created. Allah will not ask you of your certificates, He'll only ask you how you have used the time he gave you while on earth. By educating yourself, you will begin to distinguish between politics and religion, you will base you actions - and inactions - on the divine doctrine, not on the behaviours of people. You will distinguish between those who act on the whims of the desires and those who say 'we hear and obey' to Allah and his messenger's advice, you will differentiate the bigots from the true believers, In fact, you will know why Islam is growing despite this hatred that people have for it. So in one word, invest in your Islamic education just as you invest in your career; you will never blame yourself for being a muslim. And brother, you only have one life to live, you don't know maybe you will see tomorrow, please start now. Ma sallam |
@9ja I hail thee, U BE MAN LEAVE ALL THOSENa so somebody go still your life earnings and you go die poor; irresponsible ugly thing. No remorse whatsoever. So without duping somebody, you can't make it in life? You'll be caught and spend the rest of your life in jail by the grace of God. |
it's so funny how people defend their heinous crime with stupid excuses saying Nigerians are not the only internet scammers. Good we are not, but why is Nigeria the only country that has it's name inscribed on any face of internet scam. Do a Google search on internet scam and it won't be long before you see 'Nigerian Scam'. In fact, it's disgusting. Nigeria as a country as been denied the basic necessities of the online world. Recently, Google has blacklisted us, we can't even open a gmail anymore; it's dat pathetic. This follows a long line of companies that just don't want us in their database. Think about Paypal, Moneybookers and the likes. These are basic only necessities but we are barred simply because of the acts of some people that will see the wrath of God. It's frustrating, I tell you. |
Abomination! Tufiakwa!! Thou shall NOT put Mode9 & Ajasa together. .Funny. Well I go for Moddo |
@ Chino 11; needless to say Im no Boko, I live in Lagos and Im no Aboki. Why are you annoyed when I said Awka is the worst I'v been to. The last time I checked, Im not the only one that said Awka is the worst; why the unnecessary display of bigotry? I don't want to be drawn into anything here, you have your opinion as much as I have mine, and that remains AWKA IS THE WORST STATE CAPITAL I've been to. End of story. |
I haven't been to many, but to the few I have been to, Awka takes the lead. Bad and dusty roads; infact, just simply bad. |
thanks! |
Not muscle pull, it comes with a strange felling, it occurs when you sit awkwardly on the leg and there is little or no supply of blood to it, so on getting up you will find it a little difficult to put your foot on the ground, after a while it dissapears. Sometimes it can be curred by putting the foot in water. |
Hi Does anyone know the english name of the disease with the yoruba term "pajapaja", that strange felling that occurs in the limbs (especially the legs) thanks |

@joomlaman, yeah transparent background for my website. @naijacutee, I will check the website now thanks to you all |
Hi everyone, I actually need a .png background for my website. I am using a kompozer as my site editor and I tried using the .png background and its not working. though a friend helped me to create the file, I don't know maybe that was the cause of the problem as I really don't know how to create the file. Anybody with ideas should please help me, I will be glad to hear from you. |
I have been longing to ask the same question, it's just like any other day, if you think you should be thankful to God for sparing your life to see the new year, then you should be thankful to him for seeing every day. It's nothing but a standard of measurement, that's all. We attach alot to things, that's why you'll hear people saying some people didn't see the year, and for the fact that you have seen it, you should be thankful to God. Does that now make any other day of less importance because it is not new year? We should be thankful to God for seein each day, even God will appreciate that than thanking him for one day in a whole year. |
I've gotten it, Though to me, not as good as the first, but being an Asa fan, Im listening to it right now. |
SO HAVE U GOTTEN IT?Nah, I am going to yaba today, hopefully will get it there. Or if I don't see, maybe somewhere around Maryland while coming back. |
^^^ in festac, well that is good. I have been looking everywhere, and I am no where near festac. I even thought it is one of those 1 grand album, maybe the reason the hawkers are not having it. but anyways, seems that I have to wait, you buying it means that I will get it soon. |
I believe with 28 views and zero replies on this thread, it shows that people really want to buy her album but can't find where. Its a pity. I really hold her on high esteem, but she messed up on this her second album. Ask any hawker for Asa's album, he'll give you her first. When you have your own people going hungry for your work, and all you do is sellin it overseas, it shows our mentality in this country. We don't respect our own. |
I have looked everywhere, from hawkers on the streets to resalers, I even went to E-center just to check for her album, I can't just get hold of it, which makes me ask, is she having problem with her distribution company? This album has been out for about a month now and is still not on the streets. MI2 was launched a couple of days ago and I got it yesterday. Has anyone gotten a hardcopy yet? if yes, where? |

Guy, there is no business you want to do without money upfront, It's just a pity that the si called nigerian gurus make money from the ebooks and seminars more than they make money from the net. But anyways, go to www.imreportcard.com, you will see different marketting courses, their unbiased reviews, comments and their grades. From there you will see a course to buy. |
@ bilms I believe it is not a bad idea to try to bring another idea on the table, but Nigerians are now taught to be conservative(can you blame them, counting the numerous number of politicians that have failed us in the past, PDP to be precise), so being conservative will allow us to vote for him again, because to the standard of others, he has raised the bar. Talking about holduups, China recently experienced the worst holdup in world history, about 15days, that means that you are on the road for about 15 days, does that mean that China has a bad government? I mean largely densed areas are prone to holdups, cities like NY and the likes experience holdups. Lagos is the smallest state in Nigeria as regards size and yet it is the most populated (forget the census that says kano), so what do you expect? He has tried to reduce this by the creation of street lights, good roads and the likes, yet we say that there is this road somewhere he hasn't done, is he going to do all the roads in 3 and half years? At least in most places I do go to, most, if not all the bad roads have been dealt with, what do we want again. The popular Oshodi market, don't tell me that it is the same number of minutes you use to pass through that route is the same number of minutes you use now. What do we want, like a great ecconomist said. "human wants are unlimited, but the resources to satisfy them are". I believe we are expecting too much form this guy, period. |
