a typical Hausa
CuriousX:
The hausas/Northerners are not joining because great majority of them cannot thrive in a place where merit is the norm.

Look at Nigerians doing well all over the world and breaking records, majority are Southerners only a handful of Northerners ever accomplish such feats.

When you are used to a quota system where you enter school with lower scores compared to your mates down south, how do you thrive globally in an environment where only merit is the norm?

Also these western countries are looking for skilled people most of the time and majority of these Northerners lack the skills needed because they lack education in the first place.

Look at the Canadian and Australia PR program, how many Northerners can qualify? Only a handful. So northerners are not migrating because majority dont have the qualifications needed. Many of those that have are half baked graduates manufactured by sub par universities up north.

Your assertion is totally wrong we do have Hausa people abroad doing exceptionally well, but by their conservative nature you will never know they are Hausa's. Let me also educate you that we have some of the finest brains in northern universities and colleges that don't brag about their contributions to developmental projects in Nigeria and elsewhere. Also, a Hausa man doesn't take his accomplishment as a matter of tribal publicity which we have rampant in the Southwest, Southeast and South South. You failed to realize that the average Hausa man is contented with his present status and only resigns his fate to the world after.
In the other regions the quest for material gains and public recognition is paramount, you are talking about lack of skills in the North, I wonder what you actually mean by that. we all know that the subject matter has vindicated the north already. if your assertion were to be true, then there would no need for South westerners, South easterners and South southerners to 'JAPA' in the first place. I believe a highly skilled and educated society should be a developed society and needs not indulge in migrations abroad.
Furthermore, I need you to understand that in the Southwest, Southeast and South South everything is a trend as such the skills you talk of is drawn out from the quest to be rich 'which s materialistic' and NOT for development, Passion or Genuity.
Lastly, who told you the North produces half-baked graduates? when all over the country we see graduates unable to justify their certification.
Students paying their ways to better grades is the order of the day in Southwest, Southeast and South South, to the extend grades have been substituted for sex in renowned universities in Southwest, Southeast and South South, something that is not very common in the North. The North may Lag in western education but have one of the best tertiary institutions in Nigeria and with remarkable minds that you can't comprehend. Let me conclude by saying that a typical Hausa travels abroad for vacation, training/workshop and government functions, and not for greener pastures, hence the reason (s) they don't have the 'JAPA' syndrome in them.

@legitbachelor, pls I need some advice here. I did my interview sept. The CO gave two white sheets did not indicate to bring additional documents and that I should contact the embassy after 30days which I did through my lawyers. One of the forms was for joint sponsor which the embassy has replied that I don’t need a joint sponsor since my fiancée is way above the minimum income level. Till date I have heard from them and my lawyer was advising for us to wait till 120days from date of interview. Am quite confused. Need the best advice on what to do. Pls it’s serious. Thank u.

Many thanks.

Please where did you do your affidavit of bachelorhood? Kindly suggest which court to go to.

It is most likely I get the affidavit of birth from where you will suggest.

Any idea on the cost for the two, please.

Thanks much once again.
. Yes, you can get both affidavits at the high court near you, but I did mine at igbosere Lagos island for the two it will cost say 2k5 or max say 3k and u can wait to collect it.

Had a lot of ish , but finally sailed through, it's been God's grace all along. Hopefully my interview would be a success.

@abisolaarshow, Big Congrats to you.

My interview is fixed for next month, I have some few questions please.....

1a. I was born before 1992 and I have with me, local government birth certificate. Would I need to get the NPC birth certificate at surulere? If yes, how much does it cost.

1b. I also read somewhere that they don't give NPC birth certificate to those born before 1992, only birth attestation, please enlighten me on these.

2. Would I be needing affidavit of birth?lost on this discussion in d previous threads.

3. The police report goes for how much at alagbon, please?

4. Where can I get the spinsterhood certificate? And how much ?

Pls guys help a sister!!! .
@glorioussugar @abisolaarshow @legitbachelor

More inputs from everyone are welcome

Thanks in addy!!! Your NPC birth certificate or attestation is required and the cost depends on how fast u want it, if u understand what I mean. Averagely expect between 10 and 15k. Lastly, I was born in the early 80’s but was giving the attestation. For Question 2: The NPC cert. or attestation covers that, but for u to make a request for the NPC cert. or attestation u will require one, which will be returned to u with the NPC cert. Question 3: The cost depends on your bargaining strength, did mine about 8k and u get it same time as u walk in after all finger prints have been taken from u. Finally, for your last question: if your interview is for k1 I don’t think u need one, cos it’s not on the interview list requirements. I was told to do one, but I ended up just doing a sworn affidavit of bachelorhood which was not even looked at during my interview. For k1 I doubt if needed.

I feel it’s just to confirm the level of commitment to what you have sworn on ur affidavit, cos even the embassy has advised to avoid making concrete plans before visa is issued. I could hear the CO ask other applicants same questions.

What are the questions he asked you during the interview?
. 1. Who petitioned for you? My fiancé 2. How did you meet your fiancé ? Met her on my vacation, while she was on a visit to Nigeria 3. When last did your fiancé visit? She just left the country three weeks again after a month stay 4. What do you do for a living? Am a blah...blah 5. Have u met ur fiancés family? Yes and she has met mine as well 4. How many siblings do you have? Four 5. Do they (siblings) live with you? No. I then mentioned my siblings and their base. 6. does your fiancé work? Yes & School . Never asked where. After which he said please note this visa is for you to travel and marry your fiancé within 90days. Lastly, he said do u already have a date planned to get married? And I said No we plan to get married as soon as possible, but a date has not been fixed yet. That was all. Where u given a form to sign earlier on ? No. Gave me the form and I signed and returned back to the CO. Then gave the two white forms. Which I sent to our lawyer for clarification.

Was there any reason for the CO to suspect you are married? Maybe an engagement party or introduction done ? It's obvious the CO thinks you are married to your fiancee or married to someone else. People marry and still file for Fiancé visa instead of Spouse
@Capello1, I really cannot phantom why? He would have thought I was married. I don’t look that matured or too hard looking. We are not married yet, but have this natural close bond that we are so comfortable around each other. She filled for me using a lawyer and I have been the one on this end paid my visa fees and medicals. We just have this understanding both emotionally and financially that we support each other. She has been quite emotionally disturbed by this outcome. I just op they finish investigation on time. @Capello1, does it really take that long? For the investigation to be finished. Cos our lawyer sent a mail to the embassy regarding the papers they gave me and the response was I will be contacted once the process is finished. Am just confused as we are already making arrangements for the court wedding in the US.

I believe the CO wants to be sure you are not currently married hence the admin processing to give them time to investigate.

Did the CO return your passport?

If yes, you would be required to drop your passport when the CO is satisfied.

If No, you will be asked to pick it up when the CO is satisfied.

Send an email if you don't hear from them after the 30 days as stated by the CO.

It has nothing to do with your siblings.

Pls house I did my interview on 6th September 2019, after the interview questions the CO gave me two white papers. One was for immigrants rights and the other one states for further administrative process where the CO cancelled the official days on the form from 90 to 30days after writing my case number on form while stating if don’t hear from the embassy between my date of interview and the 30days mark. I should contact them via email. He had already told me that the visa is for me to travel and get married to my fiancé and that if am married it automatically disqualify me to use. And next thing he gave me the two papers. Am kind of confused as to reasons why he stalled my approval. Only thing on my mind was I suspect he was a bit uncertain about the new policy on sponsors, cos one of the interview question was how many siblings do I have? And told him. My question is 1. Does my siblings have any negative effects on the sponsor? 2. Is there a reason he reduced the further processing period from 90 to 30 days? Pls help to clear the air for me. Have been worried since then. Someone should pls help clarify things. Thank you.

Additional info on the K1 Visa.

'A K-1 visa is a visa issued to the fiancé or fiancée of a United States citizen to enter the United States.

A K-1 visa requires a foreigner to marry his or her U.S. citizen petitioner within 90 days of entry, or depart the United States. Once the couple marries, the foreign citizen can adjust status to become a lawful permanent resident of the United States (Green Card holder).

Although a K-1 visa is legally classified as a non-immigrant visa, it usually leads to important immigration benefits and is therefore often processed by the Immigrant Visa section of United States embassies and consulates worldwide.' (Wikipedia)

'K1 Visa Process

1. USCIS Filing: The United States citizen sponsor files the K1 visa petition with the USCIS by mailing the completed I-129F petition package along with a check to the Department of Homeland Security.

2. Notice of Action 1 (NOA1): Two to three weeks after mailing your petition, you will receive a notice of action (NOA1) indicating the USCIS has received your petition.

3. Notice of Action 2 (NOA2): Usually (currently), between 5 and 7 months after mailing your petition, you will receive a notice of action (NOA2) indicating the USCIS has approved, denied or requests additional evidence for your petition. If approved, you do nothing at this step. If you are denied, (end of story, marry your partner and file for a spousal visa). If you receive an RFE, you need to respond to it with the evidence requested.

4. NVC Phase: The service center that handled your petition forwards your case to the State Department’s NVC (National Visa Center). This will happen within two weeks of your approval. The NVC will run a security check on your fiance.

5. NVC to Embassy: If your fiance’s security check comes back clean, your approved K1 visa petition will be routed to the Bureau of Consular Affairs. The Bureau of Consular Affairs will send your file to the U.S. Embassy in your fiance’s country via DHL.

6. Embassy Letter: After receiving your visa petition, the U.S. Embassy (usually in the country of origin) sends the fiance a letter with instructions for scheduling the medical exam and interview.

7. Gather Embassy Documents: The U.S. Embassy will instruct the fiance to return some of the documents immediately. Other documents will be kept until the interview.

8. Medical Exam: The fiance must have a medical exam. The package sent to the fiance by the U.S. Embassy will explain how to schedule the medical exam.

9. Embassy Interview: The fiance must attend an interview at the U.S. Embassy. All applicants must bring their passport, including children of all ages. If children are joining on a K-2 visa, they must also attend the interview.

10. Visa Issued: If approved, there will usually be a wait of up to one week. The visa will be delivered via courier.

11. Travel to U.S.: The fiance has 6 months to use the visa to enter the United States. He or she will be given a package of documents by the U.S. Embassy which he or she will surrender at the Point of Entry (POE) into the United States.

12. Wedding: The petitioner must marry the alien fiance within 90 days of entry into the United States. If a wedding doesn’t take place within this time, the fiance must leave the United States. The 90 day clock starts on the date you enter the United States, which is normally stamped in your passport. The K1 visa beneficiary can only marry the person who submitted the petition. Eventually the alien must file an adjustment of status petition to receive the green card.' (RapidVisa)
Pls house I have been trying to schedule my interview but don’t know if am on the right site. Can someone pls help with correct site for scheduling interview date and as the payment process.

It's exactly the same thing Muslims and Muslim apologists keep saying while the terrorists (Boko Haram and Herdsmen) overrun whole communities, kill off some of their people, displace others and take over their lands. They've done it in many communities in Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa and Taraba so far.
This is exactly how the Arabs overran North Africa, same thing they did to Turkey and some Eastern European countries. There is no need arguing
People like you will keep defending their murderous activities for political reasons.
