Truth be told, Most Nigerian women are beauties in fat bodies. On the other hand, I think the OP hates fat women!!!.... |
Hello house, I will be traveling with my family soon to the UK for summer holidays, Can I process MR there in the UK, though I am hoping to get the request soon but I may have traveled out of Naija by the time it comes. |
I once fell victim to a fake doctor in Festac environs in 2011. He performed a CS (Ceaserian Section) on me during child birth and at the same time removed a fibroid (I later learnt that it is medically wrong to remove fibroid at child birth). He was later caught after 2 years. Oh my! I cried the day I heard this. All glory to God for His deliverance. |
mebidu:Congrats!!! Please share your timelines. I am still awaiting MR! What are the procedures for MR and Passport request. Thank you |
Hi Solomonwis and all, I will be relocating to the UK with my kids by August to join my hubby. I am still awaiting MR (am a DEC applicant). The question is what happens to the processing after this stage of MR and is there anything I would need to do from my own side here before moving to the UK? |

My husband is a PhD student in the UK. He left since October 2014. As his dependants, my three kids and I are planning to join him soon. Meanwhile, the new UK immigration rule states that we must pay Health surcharge fee. I have been to the health surcharge portal which is quite confusing. Since my hubby is already in the UK, who is the Lead applicant and Main applicant? On the portal, when I add myself as the Lead applicant, am asked to fill out the start date and end date (MY HUBBYS details) it wouldn't accept anydate in 2014! Am I paying for the kids too (ages are 12, 10 and 4 years) Thank you for your prompt response |
I have tried filling out the forms on the UK health Surcharge fee Portal as a dependant with 3 young kids wanting to join my hubby who has been in the UK since October, 2014 for his PhD , but the forms here seem quite confusing. Please can someone explain it? I still have some reservations about this portal. Who is the lead applicant and main applicant 1)When one is Lead applicant, you can only add a Main applicant but not DEPENDANTS. 2) When one is a Lead applicant and adds dependants, you cannot add a MAIN APPLICANT 3) The start date of course does not accept any other date before April 6th 2015 |
Thanks |

solomonwis:Thank you Solomonwis. This is the response I got in my mail from accra office. 'We will review your message shortly. If the information requested is available on our websites or your application is still within standard processing times, we will not provide a response to your message'. |
solomonwis:Thank you for your response. I went to the site and a bit confused. 1) Under File#, the help menu states that the file number starts with a letter (usually B, V, S, G, or W). But mine starts with an E Pls am awaiting your response. Thank you |
Hi house, I just got a new passport because th old one is full. I have my PER Please can you advice me on what and how to inform CIC about it. Thanks |
justwise:Thanks Justwise. I guess thatz the bitter truth.and a LESSON for anyone on this forum who has such intentions. ....Meanwhile, should she proceed to Abuja or just hold on till the passport is sent back to her? (this may not happen though).... or Is there a genuine lawyer contact to help appeal for the seized passport to get returned? Her main focus now is to retrieve the other seized passport cos of the US visa on it. For now the UK travel ban is less of a concern to her. Unfortunately, the only passport returned to her today is the one with UK TRAVEL BAN! SMH! |
justwise:Thanks a lot for the prompt responses. That's why it's good to get things done right the first time. She has been crying all day! P:S- No need putting the word SHE in quote. Am def not the victim, as a matter of fact am writing in from Kenya on her behalf. She has been sending me Whatsapp messages. She is not on this forum. Just trying to help in my own little ways! I feel for her o! |
justwise:Hmm. She replies 'Refusal and ban. ...What they said is that enquiries will be undertaken at the British high commission after which the document will be forwarded to Nigerian immigrations Abuja. The letter was signed by the entry clearance officer with initials as BMR.' Please how does she retrieve her seized passport which has a very recent unused 2 years US visa still running. |
Hi Justwise, am writing in on behalf of a friend of mine who just wrote me on this issue on whatsapp. Pls is there something that can be done? I feel for her. 'Ok what happened was that I overstayed in the UK beyond the approved 6months. When I got back after a year and a half, I got an immigration officer to backdate my arrival date. I later did a new passport and applied for six months which was granted. Am back after 4+ months to apply for 2years. I submitted previous passports including the one with back date which also have a US visa but no UK visa on it just UK travel history, the last UK visa is on the 1st passport. I have 3 passports, the second contains US visa and uk travel history, while the 3rd has the last visa issued which was 6 months (but 4+month used out of it), now am trying to renew for 2yrs and they dug into travel history on the previous passport and discovered the backdate, so that Passport was SEIZED, and it has 2 years Visa which has never been used running on it, moreover - was denied the UK visa too' Can she appeal? .... and how pls? |
Hi house, Pls what's the next stage after PER. Is there anything I need to do to to facilitate the next stage? Or do I just hold on? What does the next stage entail? |
You can use your GTBank mastercard but it's a bit difficult getting bank ATMs that accept mastercards. I advise you take along visacard if you have any. The charges are at about NGN420 per withdrawal. Have a safe trip! See you soon in Kenya. |
princessayinke:Application submitted - 3rd Dec (I didn't track to know when it was received) CC charged - 29th Jan PER received - 24th Feb |
