@britiko Thank you for asking further..........

@zandora Thanks for the info! How was their service in terms of effectiveness and reliability? I saw 100 GBP for registered and 8-14 delivery.
Sorry for the late response. They're very effective, if you pay for standard you'll get it in 2 weeks but if you pay for express you'll get it in 5 days like I did.

@dupyshoo! Thanks for your response, that was really helpful. Regarding the PCC in Naija, I heard you will have to be physically present for finger print, how true is that? kindly clarify. Thank you
You don't have to be physically present. I applied and received my Naija PCC from the UK, I took the prints in the UK and sent it off.

Thanks for the study route. I guess I would rather try the EE route. Should I be the principal applicant with my Nigerian passport? I more educationally qualified than her as I have a PhD and I have been working since 1999. She has been on self employment since 2001.
Yes you can be the principal applicant, it doesn't matter which passport you have.

Hey Zanzan,

Congrats dear and wishing you the best!
Just a piece of info I found helpful myself about jobs. When I visited Canada in May this year on vacation, I did research about getting jobs there. First is having a skills that is in high demand. How do I know it true? Between June and Nov. I have passed two certification exams, one of them was a Canadian certification the other an American. I created a profile on the job site ca.indeed.com and monster.ca
So far I have turned down six high paying job offers! The reason was simple. I used a Canadian address but I'm in Nigeria. I did that just to validate that what i'm doing reflects the job market demand. I have remove my job profiles and will work on My EE profile to up my CRS.
Zandora, this story is just to let you know that the jobs are there. Hope you've got skills that is in high demand? All the best!
Thanks a lot. Yes I know there are jobs, infact I've already been booked for 2 interviews for jobs in my field. Fingers crossed.

Good day team, please I need help, I received ITA since and my days are almost running out. The challenge I av has to do with scanning and uploading the photo to specified limit, in terms of dimension, format, size etc. Though the photographer gave me the specified size but scanning it is increasing everything. Please help out. It is urgent
I don't understand, why are you scanning the photo using the specification? What you need to do is to go to the photographer and tell him to take a photo of you using the CIC specification, after he takes the photo he'll adjust it as appropriate and then send it to your email. You'll then upload this photo to your application. That's what I did and didn't have any problem whatsoever.

Unfortunately you'll need a minimum of 6 in each band in order to qualify for FSWP.

Hello. I'm an ACCA member and I have evaluate d my Master degree but I didn't know my ACCA Cert could give me additional point . do you think I should evaluate my ACCA as well?and if yes will I pay WES for the additional service. Thank you
There's no need for you to assess your ACCA because your Master's degree has already given you the higher point. The ranking from highest to lowest is PHD then Master's then 2 or more degrees (which is your ACCA combined with another degree).

Good day all,
Over the weekend, i realised i qualify for the Manitoba PNP (score 76/100 in the point grid, while 60 is enough to apply), so i contacted my friend in winnepeg and he is willing to support my application all the way.
My questions are; i hope its not too late to apply now? how long does it take?

Secondly, i have my assessed Bsc degree by ICAS with me; however, i intend assessing my ACCA with WES, if this is successful, i intend to upload on my EE profile as 2 or more post sec degree.
My question are: should i go ahead with this assessment if it will qualify as 2 or more post sec degree? can i assess credentials with two different bodies, if yes, will there be a field to upload both reference nos on EE profile?

NOTE: it has been established that WES will assess it as = 3yrs canadian study, so no prob with that.

Zandora, Jesusdway and issyebo kindly answer in details. Thank you
Don't know if it's too late to apply for Manitoba PNP, you should check their website.

You can used 2 assessment bodies as long as they are approved by CIC therefore you can use both ICAS & WES. Yes, you will qualify for 2 or more degrees or certificate if you assess your ACCA.

Goodluck!

Thanks Zandora, its a MBA from LAUTECH,do you think it will fly?
Use the WES free assessment tool and if it gives you the equivalent of a Canadian Master's then don't bother with your first degree because you'll be wasting your time as CIC won't even blink at it.

Anyway if WES gets both transcripts at the same time or if they get your Master's transcript before your Bachelor's they would only evaluate your Master's because that'll be sufficient. However it's if they receive your Bachelor's transcript before your Master's that there would be a delay. I only assessed my Master's and didn't bother with my Bachelor's.

This is to gurus in the house, please I just applied to WES today and created a profile, I have put in both my first degree and masters degree. I am suppose to pay $322.50. Is it advisable to pay now or get my schools to send my transcript to WES first and also I send my certificates before paying.

At what point also am I suppose to have a WES reference number, as I only got a mail for profile creation and no WES number ? And I know am suppose to write my WES number on all documents.

Please help my confused state.
Why didn't you just put your first degree to be assessed instead of wasting time with them also assessing your first degree? Except you believe your Master's won't be equivalent to the Canadian Master's?

Top of the morning. Please I need to confirm how to explain my nysc year. Cic has sent a mail regarding a one year gap which is my nysc year. Initially, I put it as government work but they are asking for more information. How do I explain what I did for the year. Thanks
Why did you put it as government work? NYSC is employment hence you should have written it down as exactly what it was i.e you were employed by an employer for 1 year working as Bleep.

For the OP, it still boils down to if he/she has an ITA, otherwise, he/she would be wasting money in doing it over again. For instance, I rushed to do my PCC in February hoping I was going to be drawn with the next draw; unfortunately, CIC waited for another 4 weeks to make the next draw and I was not fortunate enough, until another 5months.

I see no point in doing PCC ahead, except for countries like the US, etc where PCC processing takes over 2 months. Same goes for medicals, doing medicals far too early enough cuts into the time you & family have to land after getting your COPR.
I know. However I was responding to what you said about the OP redoing his PCC if it's more than 3 months, that won't be necessary because the validity of a PCC is no longer 3 months but 6 months.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by zandora(op): 9:33pm On Nov 10, 2015
irondome:
Do you have an ITA yet? If otherwise, you might want to delay your PCC until you receive one as PCCs have validity date. Furthermore, there is no point in rushing as it's what you can get in less than a week. It's inscribed validity is usually 3 months, however, I think CIC consider it valid for 1 year, may request for a new one if it's older than 3 months.

On your proof of funds, I believe you can use your insurance contribution and Tbills as long as they are not encumbered and you can provide financial documents to back up the funds for a period of 6 months. Can you access/draw from your contributions (cooperative and Insurance) at any point in time? What's the tenure of your tbills?
The PCC validity has long since been changed. PCC's are now valid for 6 months if obtained from one's country of residence therefore he doesn't need to request for a new one if it's older than 3 months. CIC ignores the expiry dates written on PCC's therefore the 3 months validity date on Nigeria PCC's is immaterial.

I want to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency Visa. I am married with no kids at the moment.

I want to take the IELTS test. I want to find out whether it is compulsory for my wife to sit for and pass the IELTS test and whether I need to submit her documents.

Further, I have 4 years experience as a Tax Consultant. What is my chances if I am unable to obtain a letter of reference from my current employer?
It isn't compulsory but it's advisable that your wife should also sit for the IELTS in order to gain more points. You need a letter of reference because that's one of the the most important documents requested. Failing that you should then provide any official document showing number of hours worked, job title, salary & your duties and responsibilities etc.

Hi Zandora, thanks for this encouragement, I am fully activated now to start my application. I intent to register for my IELTS exams immediately
1. I hope it will not be too late to start an application as the earliest test date is 5th December.
2. I intend to relocate with my whole family to Canada and will like to fund out if I will be permitted to come to Canada alone first to settle before bringing in my family.
3. Is it also true that there is free education for kids in Canada
4.which province has more of the logistics roles so I can channel my focus to the province
5. Which province have the lowest cost of living.
6. I have a degree in Mathematics and an MBA,I can easily get my 1st degree transcript sent to WES from my school but not sure how quick my MBA can be sent by Lautech. Is there any advantage of using both degrees or can I just use my maths degree

Regards
Actually I wasn't the one who responded to your query, Jesusdway did.

No it's not too late to start your application as no deadline has been set yet. Yes children get free education. You are supposed to evaluate only your highest degree hence your MBA will do if you believe it'll be equivalent to Canadian Master's.

Zandora, Happy Sunday to u out there.

I appreciate ur open mindedness and clarity of facts you are doing on this thread. I must say, u are doing a great job helping others turning their dreams to reality.

However, I wish to seek you opinion on my stance and position for the past 2 years as a dreamer.

Education: I am holding a OND and HND in Statistics with good grades

Career: I work currently as a Statistician and a Project Assistant (19 years) in the Government. Though, I in the past headed some other position in the private Sector (Supply Chain Management - 2 years). Also worked on several international researches from the United Kingdom.

Marriage: Married with 2 kids and a wife

My Quest: For the past two year now I have been pessimistic of this dream as a result of the noise from those claiming to be agents of the Canadian govt in Nigeria. Reading your posts here some weeks ago was like a ginger in my spirit towards this migration stuff.
Do u think or know whether:

1. My educational background (Certificates) is qualify for the Canadian stuff?
2. My career is relevant to the environment given the Canadian govt regulations?

And If I am eligible, advise on how to go about it....

Thanks and looking forward to read from you soon.

DNY
Yes I don't see why you shouldn't be eligible to apply. You just have to first evaluate your qualifications and take your IELTS. The only issue I see would be your age because as you've stated, you have about 21 years work experience which if I were to guess puts your age as 40+. If I'm correct this means you won't be able to have a decent CRS score as the score for age maxes out at 45. All hope isn't lost though as even if you aren't able to score above 450 you can still go through the PNP route.

Hi @Zandora,

Kudos for the great job you're doing here.

Please I'd need a little guidance here...

1. I've done my verification with WES and gotten the report.
2. I got my IELTS result today....L-7, R-8.5, W-7, S-8 (Not quite sure if I won't have to re-write it cos of the listening)
3. I've got an MSc, Age (Max Points), 4 -5 years work experience (NOC O)
4. I achieved 70 points on the eligibility ratings...but please how do I rate myself using the CRS and is there any need for it?

Also, do you think I'm good to go for the poolhuh

Thanks
You've got a good result but it would have been excellent if that listening hadn't killed it. You should consider retaking the test because of the listening as rightly stated to increase your chances of being invited to apply.

You can calculate your score via this link:

You can just edit it, it's no big deal. I used different nocs when I was in the EE pool and when I submitted my application.

Please I urgently need your help, I have uploaded all my documents under the documents checklist for the PR application and I am trying to pay through mycic account but I keep getting Transaction declined from my GTB mastercard saying I have exceeded the daily transaction limit. I have enough funds in my account and I am supposed to pay about 2230 Canadian dollars. I went to the bank and was told the new CBN law states a daily limit of $300 for transactions. I have also tried using first bank master card to no avail. I went to GTB and was told to pay in bits, and from the online form that not possible.

Please how can I pay as my deadline is fast approaching.
Speak to your bank or ask someone else to use their card. It has to be a foreign country's card.
