Travel › Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by zandora(op): 5:38pm On Sep 25, 2015*. Modified: 10:14am On Jan 28, 2016 |
Hello all, I've created this thread for Canadian Express Entry and outstanding FSW 2014 applicants since the previous thread became too long and has now been closed. I've also pasted a PDF link below which details the step by step instructions to apply for the Federal Skilled Workers Program via Express Entry. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4gWGgP8Vy5lSjFoaC01ZUtOaTg/viewIn order to apply for Express Entry via FSW you need to first have a minimum of 1 year full time (30 hrs a week) or 2 years part time (15 hrs a week) skilled work experience which falls under NOC code A,B or O. Check for your NOC code below: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.aspNext take your IELTS General test. Then evaluate your degree or credentials via WES Canada (the best option). See link below: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.aspAfter doing the above, to find out if you've qualified you need to score a minimum of 67 points out of 100 in the FSW grid. Calculate your score below: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.aspNow that you've qualified, you can go ahead and complete your Express Entry profile via the link below: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.aspOther things you must have: Reference letters to verify the work experience you're claiming points for in the specified format below: Written on company letterhead. Signed by the responsible officers/supervisor. Have the printed name and job title of the responsible officer/supervisor beneath the signature. Show the company’s full address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail and website addresses Stamped with the company’s official seal (if applicable) The letter must include 5 things: Your job title. The dates of your employment (ideal format: DD/MM/YYYYY). Your salary per year (or month). Your average hours per week. A detailed list of your employment duties. Next you need to provide police certificates from all the countries you've resided in for 6 months and above since you were 18 years. See link on how to obtain PC from various countries below: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/infORmation/security/police-cert/index.aspThen you need to provide proof of funds for you and/or your family: Number of Family Members Funds Required (in Canadian dollars) 1 $12,164 2 $15,143 3 $18,617 4 $22,603 5 $25,636 6 $28,913 7 or more $32,191 (I've updated the funds requirement) Note: Birth certificates are no longer required for applicants but are only now required for your child/children. Wishing you the best of luck ! Previous thread: https://www.nairaland.com/1279130/canadian-federal-skilled-worker-program-timelines |

JesusDWay: @ Zandora.....kindly do the needful if you can before the thread is finally closed, not sure I can be involved for now.
On the other issue, I actually was pointing your attention to something and I suppose you got it, just maybe I could have put it some other way Do you want me to make the new thread Express Entry specific or also to include FSW 2014? On the other matter, don't worry I understand |

bigfido: hello JesusDway, Solomonwis and other guru's here My friend applied for express entry and got ITA on July 3rd, he got everyother document available but had issues with funds in bank statement which delayed him until the 60 days expired. He logged in on the 61st day and found out that he still had a 1 day window frame in his profile, so he uploaded bank statement then transmitted his application. 5 minutes after transmitting and payment, he ggot a message in his CIC account stating that his profile as expired. the issue now is, payment went through and all documents have been transmitted and he got a confirmation message that his documents have been received before the message came in. we are not sure what the current status of this application is now. could it have gone through or has it expired? his ITA was due on the 15th of September and this whole drama happened on the 16th of September. Is there an email address someone can reach them on to confirm his status? Unfortunately I believe his profile would have expired because he exceeded the deadline. Since the deadline is calculated using Canadian time and they are 1 day behind, in reality the profile had expired Nigerian time. I would advise him to create another profile ASAP and enter the pool. It's highly likely that your friend would be refunded but in the meantime he should immediately send a CSE. |

40manlappy: Thanks JesusDWay.
Regarding the reference letter (TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN), please I need clarifications on the following:
1. Is the requirement only for my wife who is the principal applicant or I too need to obtain as well? 2. Should the reference letter be from her current employer ONLY or past employers' letters should be included? 3. We have obtained a reference letter in the past for our UK visa applications which was specifically addressed to the Deputy Consular, UK High Commission. Since CIC is also the body that issues tourist visas to Canada, I guess we can as well get the relevant employer(s) to address the reference letter to CIC, right? Kindly enlighten on this.
BTW, the Saskatchewan PNP has closed!
Zandora, Tola73, damkollins, solomonwis, Slimmsyyetty, dupyshoo, Tola73, RedCapChief, unibadan, Taiwoabo: Your inputs are also welcome, please. 1) The requirement is only for your wife as that will contribute and confirm your employment points, however you can also provide a reference letter if you have Canadian experience in order to obtain 10 points. Yet still if you like you can provide a reference letter to confirm and strengthen the fact that you are working as indicated on your application. 2) The reference letter for your spouse should be from those jobs you're claiming points for ie the jobs that fall under NOC A, B or C either past or present. For example I had 3 jobs but only provided a reference letter from one of the jobs I worked for 3 years because I only chose to claim points for that work experience. 3) To save the stress just address the letter to 'To Whom it may Concern' so you can use it again in the future. Goodluck! |

kosplateau: It is out of EE and ECA isn't necessary. I knew and that was y I asked if CIC will ask for it. Like he said, don't be assertive on things u don't know. I've heard and I apologise. In that case I'm signing of this forum and won't be responding to any queries again. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by zandora: 3:18pm On Sep 23, 2015 |
JesusDWay: I've applied to the programme before, ECA is not required. Read the below taken from the Application Guide, page 8 under Supporting Documents:
1. Education/Training Credentials You must have completed a minimum of one year of post-secondary education or training, which is comparable to the Canadian education system that has resulted in a degree, diploma, certificate, or a certificate equivalent to a trade certificate. You must submit documents to verify your training and/or post-secondary education with one or more of the following: education/trade certificates, degrees or diplomas with a copy of official transcripts wherever applicable, showing school(s) attended or courses taken; professional designations, professional licenses and/or professional association memberships; and, certification of apprenticeship/certificate equivalent (that is verifiable and comparable to the Canadian education system programs) with details of program structure, courses, length and its administering or regulatory authority.
Most of your comments are very thorough but it appears you didn't read exhaustively on this. You may want to note it to try and avoid being assertive when you are giving a personal interpretation or implying from a quote Noted but what I was trying to say is that since they specifically asked that your education must be comparable to the Canadian education system how are they going to be able to compare it since immigration Canada usually asks for an ECA to be done in order to assess our qualification's equivalency to Canada's? I found your comment quite rude though, I was only stating my opinion not spoiling for a fight. There are many other polite ways you could have used to send your message across. |

JesusDWay: ECA is not required, the programme is not exactly the same with the one they did in June as its not Express Entry related. Also, CIC does not specify required documents regarding PNPs, they are mainly processed by the individual provinces as the programmes are essentially that of the province, they only forward your details to CIC after they must have decided to take you and CIC then gives go ahead to issue visa. Read the below taken from their application guide:
"You must attach documents to support the information for the eligibility criteria and points factors. For example, if you claim 20 points for having a university degree, you must attach a copy of your university degree and complete transcripts. If your degree is printed in a language other than English or French, you must also attach a translated version". I beg to differ, ECA is definitely required. This is an excerpt of one of the requirements 'you must have completed post-secondary education, training or apprenticeship equivalent that is comparable to the Canadian education system of at least one year in length that has resulted in a diploma, a certificate or degree. This implies that you need to get an ECA so that the Canadian equivalency of your certificate or degree can be obtained, if not how are they going to know if your qualification is equivalent to a Canadian qualification? |

Garykasparov: I am also an ACCA member, but i am owing some annual subscription, and probably removed from the register, can ACCA still send transcript of a memeber of such status?
Secondly, i got my BSc assessed by ICAS cos WES does not assess my uni. if WES assess my other degree can i used two different assessment bodies to earn two post-secondary qualification points when i apply? Yes you can use assessment from 2 different bodies. As for the ACCA why don't you phone them up and ask them as they would be in a better position to know if you're to pay your outstanding subscription fees before giving you your transcript. |

Lotalways: Hello all, pls I want to register for ielts but it is stated in the British council website that candidates must register with the name on their international passport. my passport still bears my daddy's name. can I go ahead and register with that name or do a change of name first to my hubby's name before registration. kindly advise. It's best to use the name you'll use wen submitting your PR application to avoid issues. If you're going to apply using your married name then you should update your passport. |

Has anyone got HND qualification assessed by WES,My wife got HND,I am wondering if it would be considered as two or more certificates.diploma.....One must be for a program of three or more years.(more points ) In order to assess your HND you need to provide your OND. Was the HND itself 3 years? |

Kevinoh: Hello my people, please I need some help.
I had my Bsc evaluated late last year. I now wish to evaluate my OND for some extra points which is not in any way linked to my Bsc. When I logged into my previous acct on WES website I saw an 'upgrade report' link beside my previous evaluation which I selected and it took me to another stage where I selected the option 'add another credential'
At some point I was asked to enter the details of the credential I want to upgrade. My challenge here is that I am not sure if it is my Bsc credential which has already been evaluated or my OND which I wish to evaluate that I should enter here. Perhaps if it was a masters degree I now wish to evaluate I wouldn't be encountering this confusion considering the fact that it is an upgrade to a Bsc. I have contacted WES severally without any replies. Maybe my challenge sounds funny to them. All I want is to get a single report showing I have two or more post secondary qualifications for the express entry.
Please for the experienced ones and for those who have done two evaluations at different times, how did you go about it and how much extra did it cost?
Thanks guyz I think the upgrade means to upgrade your initial report. You should look for the option 'order additional report'. I tried to paste the link here but their website is currently down. |

DanIndia: What other provinces are those ? I mean the ones that do not require your presence or relatives in Canada. Ontario, Nova Scotia, Prince Edwards Island etc but they've all practically finished for this year so you'll have to wait till next year for 2016 PNP nominations. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by zandora: 3:11am On Sep 19, 2015 |
DanIndia: Hi folks,
I just read through the forum and I noticed an individual with a Provincial Nominee or Job Offer may stand out pretty well in the pool. However, when I surfed through provincial website, I found that provinces only nominate workers who are already in Canada on a TRV. Does this mean that a Foreign worker cannot be nominated ? That's not true. A foreign worker can also be nominated but some provinces ask that the worker has ties to the province either via relatives or friends, some others ask that the worker has a specific job the province lacks and so on. |

Issydebo: Morning guys,
Quick question. Please how long does it take for one's profile to be activated on MyCIC? I submitted my entry on Sunday and I'm yet to receive any message including reference code to the job bank. Also my status still reads "Processing submission"
@ Zandora,
Howdy? Hiya! I got mine about 5 mins after submission but it varies from a few mins to a few days. A friend of mine waited 2 weeks without any job bank details email so he deleted his profile and created another one after which he immediately got the email. I would create another one if I were you so that i'ld be swimming in the pool for the next draw. There might not be many draws left. |

I am Customer Service Officer (CSO). .Attend to customers' inquiries and complaints .The 1st Level of "Control" in customers' daily transaction .Onboarding of customers via Alternate Channels i.e ATM,Mobile and Internet
Then you fall under NOC 6551 which falls under category C which unfortunately isn't a skilled job and hence doesn't qualify you to apply. However, if you do some duties that include supervising some customer service duties then you'll fall under NOC 6314 which is category B and a skilled job. |

Issydebo: Can my spouse use my bank statements for Proof of funds if she decides to deal as the principal applicant ? I guess that's the major reason she's not keen (but using my statements will help cross the hurdle). No she can't. The funds have 2 be in the principal applicant's name or joint with spouse. If u trust her can you add her to your account so she can be the principal applicant ? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by zandora: 2:05pm On Sep 13, 2015 |
Issydebo: @Zandora, The CRS score stated excludes IELTS for my spouse. She's not too keen in doing it. If she takes it (IELTS) with a minimum of 6 each then i'Lloyd most definitely cross the 450 mark (454) by my calcn. PS she doesn't want to be the principal applicant if at all (using her profile with standard L8 R7 S7 W7 will give us 460+) Hmm why doesn't want to be the principal applicant? With your CRS score of 437 you won't be going anywhere soon and re-evaluating your IELTS will only give you 0.5 if successful and there's a 20% success rate. I suggest your wife should take the IELTS because if she does and scores L8 R7 S7 W7, your score will increase to 457 which is a very good score and even if she scores slightly less in some sections you'll still be above 450. |

Issydebo: Hello good people, I've been following this thread anonymously like forever. Just have a quick question on IELTS: I just checked my result L9, R8.5, S7.5, W7 and noticed that an extra 0.5 in W will give me 3 extra CRS points. Does it make sense to appeal ie request for a remark? First of all what is your CRS score? If your score is above 450 then don't ask for a reassessment because: 1) At above 450 you have a good chance of receiving an ITA. 2) If your score remains unchanged then you would've wasted your money. 3) While the Reassessment is going on (which takes weeks) you won't be able to use your IELTS score which means you won't be in the EE pool and hence miss out on a potential ITA. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by zandora: 4:49am On Sep 10, 2015 |
ssemire: i just entered the pool last month and got ITA in august as well. i have 60 days to apply but i'm worried about my Pof. i got a huge sum deposited in my account at once 2 weeks ago and this was money i lent my brother in march. how will i convince them its my money In my opinion if you withdraw your application and put the money in a fixed deposit account as others suggested you'll have to wait for 6 months before applying. This would be the beginning of next year when PNP's will start issuing invitations once again and hence lead to an increase in the CRS minimum score per draw for a while . Furthermore, CIC has said they will carry out between 16-25 draws this year and they've already done 16 draws this year therefore they aren't under any obligation to carry out any more draws this year if they choose to. As a result I won't decline my ITA if I were you. My suggestion is that you should get a signed declaration or affidavit from your brother which explains that he's repaying back the money he borrowed, print out your 6 months bank statements (not average) which should show when your brother deposited the money into your account, provide your March bank statement which showed the transaction of you gifting the money to your brother and any other evidence. Since it's your money and not borrowed funds the onus is on you to prove the money is yours and unencumbered. Goodluck!! |

1) Can I send only my MSc Cert for evaluation at WES...or its compulsory I do BSc alongside? (Trying to save time on this stage)
...more questions as I encounter the hurdles.
Cheers Send only your MSc if you're sure it'll be assessed as the equivalent of a Canadian MSc. Use the WES free assessment tool to assess it's equivalency if you haven't already done so. |

Ekpekus: Since you sent pay slips and a cover letter from your employer indicating that the salary was in cash, what you need to do is this: Get the bank statement into which you paid the salary over the period of review and write a cover letter explaining in details again that your previous application had this nevertheless you've attached the bank statement that holds your savings into which you paid in your salary.
I hope it help. if not clear just highlight where you need clarifications Agreed! |
