You only need a minimum of 67 points to qualify for FSW, after that you should then calculate your CRS score in the Express Entry pool. To maximise your chances of being selected to apply for the FSW program you should aim to score a minimum of 450 points. If you score less than 450 without your wife's IELTS then she needs to take the test to increase your score.

Thanks for your comments. Honestly, its a modernized fraud!!! My wife is feeling very bitter about the result as she said insisted something was wrong during when her result was picked for quality control and was not released to her as at when due. Please, I need you seniors to educate me on the concept and correlation of IELTS to EE even after applicants' credentials are evaluated. Are we sure this ugly incessant IELTS result inconsistencies is not only to Nigerian test takers

Meanwhile, I need further advice on where to print IELTS Enquiry on Results Form for remarking.

I don't think it's only in Nigeria. The friend I talked about in my post above is based in the UK. The thing is when you fill your IELTS application it asks you for the reason for taking the exam then you'll have to select immigration and they know how the Canadian point system works and the weight language carries.

It is becoming more frustrating that larger percentage of IELTS test takers fails one of the 4 bands which invariably renders their entire test reports useless to EE application. It is disheartening that my wife's second IELTS exams attempt result was not released as at when other results were released, all in the name of her result was picked for quality control. She eventually received the result today and it is worse than the previous one. Was is that her scripts were remarked or what actually happened during the quality control?

Please, I need clarifications/advice on what likely to have happened to my wife's result during quality control. However, I need advice on another country scheme that accept lower IELTS test result or none at all. IELTS takers are wasting so much resources on this exams, we need to be rescued out of this mess!!!

Let me share something with you. A very close friend of mine took the IELTS earlier this year and scored R7.5, W8, S9 and a 7 in listening and as a result lost over 50 points. I advised him to retake the exams and try to score higher in listening and he reluctantly agreed. His results came out a couple of months ago and he blasted all except writing where he now scored 6. He was pissed off and refused to accept the result so he decided to apply for a remark. Two days ago his results came out and guess what? His writing was changed to 8.5 and he was refunded his money. I mean how the heck does an examiner make that kind of mistake? A 6 to an 8.5 is a massive difference! Only God knows what IELTS is up to. My advice is if you score less than you expect in writing and speaking then apply for a re-evaluation.

Your friend's case is peculiar - I didn't send the form, yet WES honored my application and evaluated my credentials.
Perhaps WES rejected your friend's application for a different reason.

Naa, he told me that was the reason. I myself didn't even know about the form because my transcript is online via Digitary so WES got my transcript from there so the form wasn't required. It was when he asked if I was aware of the form because WES rejected his transcript for not including it that I became aware of the existence of the form. Maybe your case was an oversight because if the form wasn't that important then why would WES say it needs to be completed by the school? Strange.

My school gives you the transcript to send. What I did was send from a post office in the town where my school is. That way there won't be any contradiction between where the school is and where it was sent from.

But in the case where the school sends verification result by post too, it means you need a contact in your school to notify you when the verification is done so you can send it to WES again. My school verifies through email so it kinda made it easier for me.

Also don't forget the form that is to be downloaded and sent with the transcript, the school is meant to sign on one part of the form too. A friend of mine sent a sealed copy of his transcript that he had but WES rejected it because he forgot to include the form.

It can't be use because while WES Canada assesses your educational credentials to find its Canadian equivalency, WES USA assesses your educational credentials to obtain it's US equivalency. So unless you intend schooling in the USA WES Canada is the way to go.

You will only need to have WES done if you want to increase your score. If your CRS score is less than 450 then it's advisable to have WES done as that can add up to 10 points to your score that is of course if your husband is the principal applicant.

For those who want to cut cost by sending their documents to WES through NIPOST, I will say; go ahead.

Hubby and I sent our certificates through NIPOST and it got there in less than 2 weeks, from Lagos. I was pleasantly surprised.

NIPOST isn't always reliable, I will suggest people use courier because that guarantees delivery. Besides if on the rare occasion that the courier failed to deliver the item due to their own fault then another one would be sent to you free of charge. On the other hand if NIPOST fails to deliver then you'll have to pay for another.

Congrats! That's a good score. I don't think she should retake it unless you have spare funds to burn. I hope you're in the pool because you have a chance of being selected. Goodluck

You would have to register for health insurance card at the province you reside and also have to provide evidence that you live in the province ie proof of address. Then depending on the province might have to wait for the card to arrive eg Ontario currently has a 3 month waiting period to receive your health card while for Alberta you receive your card immediately after registration. You can't use any free health service without your health card.

if you receive ITA and you accept it, hence, you upload your documents. i believe this is received by cic ottawa, what i am not sure of is, is this then sent to accra vo, or its all processed and background check in ottawa and whats the timeline ceteris paribus.

Secondly, if you are about accepting ITA and your PoF is a) your 6 months salary account statement with little fund; but b) 2months old FD with required fund, will this fly or raise eyebrow

The application is first sent to Sidney, Nova Scotia for completeness and if deemed complete will be sent to either your local VO i.e Accra or to Ottawa for processing. Now if it's processed at your local VO and your app is successful, you'll receive a decision within 2-3 months (yes, super fast!). On the other hand if you're unfortunate enough like me to have your app processed at Ottawa then you're in for a long wait. Tomorrow will make it 5 months since I submitted my app and yet no decision.

Use both source of funds but I'll advice you to show where you got the FD funds from (the source) since you have the funds there for only 2 months.

I need your help :

I applied for PNP via EE in August 2015 and was told to send:

1. salary account for the past 6 months from my place of work showing salary payment

2. updated bank statements showing proof of funds

3. Historic Birth certificate.



here is my story:
I have 2 accounts : salary account(savings) and current bank account.

I have bulk of the funds in the current account and this account is the ONLY one i submitted while applying to CIC.

In Dec. 2014, my parents disposed one of their parcel of land (bought in 1990 and it has appreciated considerably over the years) and gave me the money to use as POF and for further processing.
the money was deposited in my savings account (salary account) by my mum and this shows in the transaction history.

my bank will not issue a letter/balance certificate/reference letter for a savings account and this is part of what CIC needs. Hence i moved the funds to my current account in January 2015 and the money stayed there without any lump sum payment thereafter. i submitted my current account statement to CIC covering Jan to August 2015 alongside reference letter from my bank with respect to the current bank account during the application process.


i submitted payslips for my current job among other documents except the savings account my salary is being payed into.


my savings account is quite healthy just that salary payment is being delayed. this is due to the current economic stuff about oil price and states owing debts........ i work with in a state government establishment and the state is one of those owing workers salaries and paying them in arrears. for example..... jan salary may be paid in march, february in may,,,,,,, etc. A bulk arrears was paid recently and the govt is currently owing august and sept salaries.

I didnt submit my birth certificates initially because it wasnt asked during EE online submission.

in addition to the documents below what other documents can I submit back to CIC as requested(or which one should i remove?):

1. current bank account statement from jan till date capturing transfer of the bulk money from my savings to current account for the purpose of collecting a bank letter certificate and reference letter
2. letter of non indebtedness from my bank for the current account
3. salary(savings) account statement from Dec. 2014 till date showing delay payments in salaries and also capturing my mum depositing the funds in my account
4. some newspaper publication showing my state is one of those who is owing workers salary, other publications about the bail out funds, other newspaper publication about my state governor promising to pay the arrears soon, etc
5. letter of non indebtedness from my bank for the savings account
6. receipt of land sold by my parents in 2014
7 survey of the land sold
8. deed of gift by my parents signed at High court
9. affidavit of gift by my parents signed at high court
10. transfer agreement of the initial owner of the land and sales receipt issued after being sold to my parents
11. birth certificate at birth (church certificate) and NPC affidavit of birth registration
12..What other documents should i add ?

You can work anywhere once you arrive in Canada, there's no rule that says you should stick to your NOC.

You have to know someone in Canada to request it so they can send it to that person who'll in turn send it to you. My sister is in Canada so I just filled the consent form which consents that my info be released to her.

Guys 18th draw is out and once again the minimum score is 450 and 1,530 people have been invited. Looks like people should now be aiming to score 450 and above. Please see below:

This Oanda stuff is something we just discussed on another group I am. I'll rather advice one use bank rate(you will use bank to make any payment you are making anyway) which someone who just transacted with First Bank said he was charged 165. It used to be 170 actually which I'll rather advice anyone to use.

Really? I used Oanda for mine though with no problems because when I got my GCMS Notes it said funds okay that's why I suggested he should use it. I guess he could use bank rate too.

This means that your application has been deemed complete and has now gone to an officer for eligibility review ie check your employment, funds etc. This is the final stage.

Yes. Everybody is required to do IELTS even British citizens living in the UK and Americans.

Use Oanda as it's widely accepted by most immigration bodies. It's best to print out your conversion rate and upload with your POF seeing as the currency exchange fluctuates.

Yes one of your references can be from your supervisor in Nigeria. Also required is one year Canadian work experience in which you will have a second reference. Until you have one year Canadian work experience you will be only granted Associate membership.

You can be a member, anyone can be a member of any body infact I am a member of 2 professional bodies. However in order to claim the 250 additional points you'll need to obtain professional certificates to enable you practice and this can only be gotten by writing their professional exams. This is what CIC states in order to claim 50 additional points:

'Professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession(also known as First professional degree or Entry-to-practice professional degree)

For Express Entry, we only accept professional degrees in these fields:

medicine,
veterinary medicine,
dentistry,
podiatry,
optometry,
law,
chiropractic medicine, or
pharmacy.

As you can see it's called a degree so you'll have to sit for the body's exams to obtain it.
