Well I know load of peepz that came in for Mph and wrote usmle exam. Usmle is also a route to become PR. As for your family, you can decide they move in with you on F2 or B2 visa, that is if you can be able to afford it because your wife wont be able to work. Its gonna be hard to as Student plus you will be writing usmle exam. Think about it but I will advice you leave your family in nig for a while like 2years then they move later. Once you are on F1 visa, your school can't allow you to defer, they will only give u option of going back home or tell you to appply for economic hardship. Usmle is much better you write it in usa, it opens you to loads of opportunity and its the straight path to getting an H1 and possibly PR. With the new obama immigration reform tonight, you gat no worries sirRiddy: ...................Hello guys,
I am a medical doctor married with two kids. I graduated about three years ago and currently a practitioner. I intend to further my studies in the United states via a masters program in public health. The facts are:
1. I presently have a valid b2b1 visa to the states, have visited thrice. 2. My 'real' intention is eventual migration with my family after completing my education. 3. I have secured a visiting visa for my family.
The questions bothering me are thus: 1. Should I go to US and do the processing of my admission or stay back here in Nigeria and do it? Which is felicitous for my intentions? 2. Can I write uslme, then change my 'visit' status to an f1 visa? Is this possible or legal? 3. After the first year of masters programme, can I take like 2 years leave of absence to work and gather money for the second year tuition fee ? Please, I am totally verdant to the whole 'student visa' process, so please pardon my somewhat ridiculous questions, if they seem that way to you...................

weomet: Hi guys, I have a small matter - I got admitted for a program in the spring but I want to defer till fall semester mainly due to financial reasons. I'm aware that some of us on this thread has deferred admission before, kindly advise me on other cogent reasons I could use. Thanks. tell them financial constraint , just tell them to defer your admission till fall. They will gladly do that. No school wants you to come to the usa and run out of status |

tayoamos: Pls does anyone know a university in the USA whose masters will be around 3k per semester, that's 6k for the first year? Can I find any school that cheap ? I want to study MPH Also, after my masters, is it possible for me to get a job with my earned masters degree and eventually use the job to migrate legally in the USA ? Is this possible pls try write Gre and get GA, I doubt if they are school that have low tuition as low as 3k. Yes you can get a job after masters and get H1 visa and become a PR afterwards |

They will be in pre school while I'm studying. preschool, mehn, it aint that easy in america oo especially when you and your kids are not citizen or resident. its a different thing here, you cant even leave your kids at home or with anyone. paying for daycare cost an average of 100-120dollars a week depends on location, it could be 200 dollars for each child. have a rethink |

Lets say I'm in ABC university majoring in biology and would love to transfer after one semester to XYZ university to major in Nursing. how possible is this from one major to another in a different university. very easy to transfer as long as you got a valid i20 and you can foot the bills, you will only apply to the new uni and fill an international transfer form. |

ebdib: There was once a time on this thread when students were hardworking. Willing to take all standardized tests to prove themselves worthy of a solid education. Now with the crop of applicants I'm seeing here, I'm scandalized.
They don't want to take standardized tests, hunting for waiver letter up and down Even simple toefl is a problem. I'm amazed really.
You can't expect to get a solid education and think you can run away from standardized tests. Anyone doing that is only fooling himself because he/she will spend money on crappy universities and when it comes to the crunch ie after school hustle, as warri people will say 'e go clear for your eye'
Serious students, study for the gre, there have been many tips here. If you don't do well at first, retry and do better
Unless you want to get to America and start doing drugs or some illicit business you're going to compete with qualified Chinese students, Indians, Colombians, Mexicans and even Americans themselves for few placements. If you want to be competitive you need to prove it.
Running away from tests won't solve your problems.
A word is enough for those that have ears. Oya bye bye. ebdib, nice post you got, tell them ooo, am just shocked that the only question i read here is do you know any school that waive GRE,SAT OR TOEFL. it is crazy |

profojah: But what if the standardize test is being waive for the applicant by the school and he/she decided to do it to avoid VOs wahala..maybe unfortunately he/she gt a low score but with the waiver letter from the school...hope the person won't av an issue with d VO? well half bread is better than none, but i will advise you to get a higher score |

imperiouxx: The part of biology I'm good at day/night is the part that deals with human body organization and functions.
Believe me, I have no bit of fear. I've taught many medical aspired jamb students areas covered in HA&P for years.
Also, you know I've covered some parts of it in various biochem courses. My only anxiety is been in psy and soc class for the first time but with good concentration, I should be able to handle them fine. am taking psychology as well, inshort 2 psychology, introduction and lifespan, were you told to do both sociology and psyc ? |

imperiouxx: lols. I'm continuing with a medical program (PA) and it requires taking one and half semester of prerequisites at the undergrad level.
Most of the credits I've already had from my BS and MS but psychology, sociology and human anatomy and physiology I've never done before and I must take with distinction to get in.
It's crazy... hmmm? The only problem is that those courses will soon suffer humiliation those preREQS CHAII, beware of anatomy and physiology |
