Sports / Paralympians Performing Very Well; Would You Give A Disabled President A Chance? by Zenakoboko(m): 4:41pm On Sep 06, 2012 |
The paralympians have been delivering medals. If the recent events are anything to go by, would you give a disabled president, senator, governor etc. a chance if he/she contests leadership positions starting from your immediate locality (LGA or state)? #JustAsking. Pls share your thoughts or kindly peruse and pass. |

Politics / Re: What Has Rochas Achieved In Imo State by Zenakoboko(m): 4:54pm On May 21, 2012 |
Rochas is messing up. He may be down and out before he realises it. I think his problem is largely inexperience because he constantly re-emphasizes his goodwill for the state and its citizenry (even though me sef don dey consider am as talkactive). The people have been badly governed by successive govts so the yearn for a good one. I sincerely hope Rochas is the man to rescue because so far, he hasn't proven to be. YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY? WELL IT IS BECAUSE OF THE FOLLOWING: Insecurity in the state has skyrocketed in the past few months (armed robbery & kidnapping; no society can acheieve any meaningful dev in that kind of environment) Delayed payment of civil servants salaries (after promising what seemed to be the higherst amount of minimum wage) Inconsistent administrative policies Large, laughable and boogus-sounding projects (synonymous with Ohakim era) Contract handling procedure (no usage of bill of quantities(BoQ) in the tendering/approval process, inadequate QA/QC mechanism - with the result that any politically elected idiot from an area can supervise on-going projects including road construction in his area/community even if he is not schooled in that respect and may have no value-adding input to make. Previous govts had inspection teams but now "His excellecy" is going everywhere because he wants to cut cost. But he cant be everywhere, and even how much time can he spend in a place at a time to really inspect before moving on to the next project?). Commercialisation of basic neccessities and processes in govt ministries (this has led to a huge level of corruption as large sums of monies now change hands in the ministries and the common is now paying for services that the govt hitherto delivered for free or next to nothing in cost. E.g As enlightened as I am, I was made to pay 17,000 to obtain a form in a ministry in the state on the 15th of May 2012. 12,000 was filled on a teller for deposit and receited while 5,000 was not. This service I gather used to cost about 1,500 by Jan last year). He deducted 10,000 from the paltry 70,000 he pays traditionally to re-certify (to re-take note of 5-decade old) already existing autonomous communities in the state. 4th tier govt is gist for another day. (I visit Imo state twice in a month to see my folks and I am well a witness and can tell you more but wouldnt want to increase the length of this already long epistle. Lol) May God help him and our beloveth state |

Politics / Re: Owerri Vs Port Harcourt: Which Is More Developed And Planned? by Zenakoboko(m): 6:47pm On Mar 16, 2012 |
Afam even before orlu, Anara and the rest. What's wrong with getting the city planned up to Egbu, Irete, Avu/Obinze, Nekede etc. Late Sam Mbakwe did his mighty bit and our past leaders have been resting on their oars. I pray the rescue team can expand the town, it may be beautiful and planned, but it is getting really over crowded too (have you been there lately during peak periods on a working day? You would ask probably beg for a new word to describe mad traffic. |
