Have you heard of Onyeka Nwelue? He wrote a book titled 'The Abysinian boy' . I think he even got an award for writing the book. Check him out on google. I haven't read the book, but I've heard that its great.

I am not fit to be a good critic of peotry, but I thought it was very nice. Vey nice. As I read the poem, I actually visualized the moon coming down to the poet, but the image disappeared as I read on.

Poems are great. I like the way there is no mathematical formula that one can follow to write a poem(if there is it should be burned, or sent off to outer space). lol. One only has to know what the purpose of the poem is, and to let the feelings in the heart of the poet form the words. At least that's the way I write.

I write little poems mostly to spice up my short stories. Do you write short stories? If you do how do I make my characters come alive. There are some novels I read, that I get so engrossed in the story that i actually think the characters are real people. That's the kind of effect I want to cause in the readers of my short-stories, screenplays, or hopefully novels.

Writing a book is a really great endeavor. It's great that you have just a month of work ahead of you. I don't know Nigerian publishers. Sorry I couldn't help. I just want to commend you. Hope you'll let us know when the book finally comes out. And maybe give us free soft copies of it.

The Yellow Brick Road

On the yellow brick road, I go -
But where this road leads to
I know by name alone.
Uncertainties abound . . .
On this yellow brick road, the city of Emeralds must be around.

Little me,
Out of this land, Oz, the great and terrible must free
Oz, I know not
But on my march to him, I must go forth.
Aunt Em, and Uncle Henry must be worried
Out of the land of the Munchkins I hurried.

The Scarecrow,
the first of my new friends
needed brains.
So we set out on this journey on the yellow brick road,
Which I hope soon ends.

The second, later to become my defender
Who I and the scarecrow see,
groans, bringing the scarecrow and I to the partly cut down tree.
The Tin Woodman needed a heart,
and then my new party of friends was three.

The Lion, without any courage
Came at us, feigning rage
But now we are on the same page.

On a yellow brick road we all go
Whatever lies ahead we do not know.
Friends and foes we may come to know.
Some are brainless and some are cold.
Some not bold and one we hold.
But whatever the case
on our journeys through the yellow brick road
we must never fold.
