Dragonking: Defending the bible god once again as he shows how weak he is..SMH

The bible claimed elijah commanded fire from heaven to come down and burn his enemies yet none of our pastors can do same to bokoharam in sambisa forest..The bible claimed that jesus/ his disciples laid his hands on the sick and were healed but yet again our pastors fail to heal victims suffering from ebola virus...When exactly will this almighty god finally show his power or is it seasonal?

Geniuz: I worship an all knowing God He knows why He allows these things to happen. He promised not to allow those disease He purnished Egypt with to befall us so for this to happen, there must be a reason. God may be warning or reminding us of something or just trying our faith or anything, Gods thaughts are different from that of men.

God has provided His solution to ebola and all pain and suffering since about 2014years ago. He's not at a loss if the whole world died of ebola, go figure.

McStoic: Even if I am wrong, why should a temporary staff like the resident doctors hold the government by the jugular at a time like this? Why must a temporary staff dictate to the employer on what and how to remunerate the permanent staff? Sometimes I wonder at the way some of these doctors reason. In one of the Federal Medical Centres last week, a so called senior consultant in Family Medicine was questioning where the FG got the N1 billion they released for the eradication of the Ebola virus (failing to realize that, a man may not have money but will definitely be forced to have even if it means borrowing when his wife is in labour) . His rationale was that since government claimed they didn't have money, where could they have raised that from!! Imagine how a full fledged health professional is reasoning, you can now imagine how the lesser group who are resident doctors will be...........Funny set of people! You cannot win a war against the government, be warned all of you.

McStoic: Why don't you teach me so I can learn? While at it, answer this simple question: Has the FG been sponsoring doctors' residency program or not? If yes, why cann't other professionals benefit from the gesture? Thank you.

McStoic: Whether the resident doctors were sacked or not, one thing remains clear: returning to status quo will cause a lot of chain reaction in the health sector.

In saner climes, the responsibilities of the government towards a medical student stops or kind of gets limited once they are through with their intership or housemanship as the case is ( In USA, for instance, they sponsor themselves while the government only pays them stipend to aid them) .For those who are not aware, the federal government still trains a resident doctor to pass his exams towards attaining consultancy! Meanwhile, other medical students in say med lab and co are left to cater for the expenses incurred while trying to attain the same status of high class specialists.

From the foregoing, resident doctors used to pay for their residency but at a point in time, Nigeria didn't have enough doctors and it was decided (during the military era) that the cost of the residency program would be shouldered by the government to enable greater output of doctors. For many years this had been on, no one complained, not even other members of the health sector. Cue in to recent developments, where doctors are against like better benefits for other paramedical bodies. Hardly anywhere in the world can you find the government bearing the total brunt of a student's tuition. These resident doctors are students and ought to pay for their further studies just like other allopathic students do. It's clear that only the doctors have been favoured all these while and now they are trying to abuse the privilege. If the suspension should ever be called off, the president should be ready to pay for other medical students as well. Most Nigerians don't know that the amount of money spent to train these resident doctors can be chanelled into other areas cos they eat up a large chunk of the budget. Those who are aggrieved can still go and pass their consultancy training at other West African Countries or even overseas like they are threatening...........Whatever is good for the ox is good for the gander!!

lrguru: even if they pay doctors 1-million naira monthly, in 5-months time, they will ask for 1.5million naira or go on strike. Dr's say that dr-patient ratio is 1:6400, and nigeria has 150million people. Does it mean that all nigerians are sick people or go to the hospital everyday. May I remind the doctors that not everybody patronize govt hospitals and not all even go to hospital. Some people have never even visited hospital for the past 10 yrs or more, and some prefer the traditional method. So if we wnt to calculate dr-patient ratio, we can say the ratio is 1:100 on monthly bases.

uncleu: Resident doctors in Nigeria tend to forget that they are in for short training program. They are not indispensable. The consultants can run any hospital with house officers and medical officers. There are thousands of young doctors with primaries waiting and looking for places to do residency. Lift this suspension after six months, throw application process open to everybody and see if resident doctors will go on strike again.

Secondly, anyone sensible enough to be an atheist would know that, neglecting external factors, neither you nor the pilot is willing to die or go to jail. Hence, neither of you would be willing to exert fatal damage to either one or all of the occupants of the jet. No reason to worry.
Finally, the "Oh God" exclamation is more of an impetuous action than an assertion of belief. It might as well be "Jupiter's Co.ck", "bloody fu.c.k", "holy sh.it", e.t.c. Not an assertion of belief.

In fact, all gods are racist- they are only concerned with the tribe that worship them. Yaweh for Jews, Olodumare for Yorubas, Zeus for Greeks and Allah for Arabs.

Oduduwaboy: I used to describe myself as a born-again christian up till 3 years ago. Then , i started having doubts as a result of all sort of frauds going on in church; namely , tithe fraud, miracle & breakthrough fraud, sexual immorality, schemes designed to separate members from their money etc. Also, i found praying & fasting to be nothing more than psychological exercises. In short , i got tired of defending God against common sense. I realised i got better results when i applied rational methods to issues.

I had always read a bit widely outside of the bible and i had always had questions; there are just too many inconsistencies in that book. It takes a lot of cognitive dissonance to accept it as the unquestionable word of a PERFECT god, which provisions are meant to traverse all generations. Then i spent some time to study about Emperor Constantine and the role he played at the council of Nicea and i came to the conclusion that the bible is not the word of God but that of early Jews & Romans with early greek influences....

I have to cut this 'testimony' o.
Then some personal issues on which i prayed & fasted....with faith...with camp going...each exercise left me empty & with more questions.
Also, the daily tragedies that occur coupled with the evils of fundamental islamism left me with the conclusion that no self-respecting god can allow so much hatred to be exercised in his name. If a god must exist, he must be omnipotent & omniscient but human history has shown this not to be so.
If God created the ability in us to reason, then reason must of necessity lead us back to him. However, reason(science) has consistently shown how unlikely the existence of god is. So, i moved into this season of Agnosticism . I could call myself an atheist but for the mathematical impossibility of PROVING that a god does not exist!

Sawyer's sister had allegedly died of the virus before his trip to Nigeria, a tragedy that is said to have been his method of contracting the virus.

Vice President of ECOWAS, Dr. Toga Mcintosh, further confirmed that Sawyer did in fact flee medical watch placed upon him after his sister's reported death. At a briefing today, Mcintosh said "because he had contact with somebody who died from Ebola, he was quarantined in his own country, but he evaded the quarantine and came to Nigeria."

The minister encourages affected West African countries to come together to combat the crisis, rather than shuffle the responsibility.

Sawyer is reported to have acted erratically and looked sick on CCTV footage from Liberia's James Spriggs Payne airport in Monrovia, Liberia, raising security suspicion there. Despite this, he was allowed to fly out of the country.

Last time I checked, the government threatened to privatize its hospitals and use military and paramilitary doctors to run the hospitals. There is no better time to do that than now. dozzybaba: Mister man, We have a National health emergency on our hands, this is not time for ego-massaging, all healthworkers including environmental Health officers, Medical Lab. Scientists and phlebotomists, are threatened. It is my belief that if NMA members had been at work, this situation would have been worse than this. Patients would have filled our hospitals, coughing and sneezing thinking it's common cold and transmitting it to other patients and health workers. Physicians would have transmitted it to patients during physical examination and so on...

Quit reading what's on your payslip for now, we are not interested. Only VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED IN THIS FIGHT AGAINST EBOLA, THE LESSER THE CONTACTS THE BETTER FOR US ALL.Thank you.
