Readone35L: What year of the challenger are you getting .
I use the charger srt8 2010
Its A Nice ride above all
Why not check out the 3.5L ,it. Might be better because of fuel consumption, cheap engine parts and cost of maintenance ... And I don't think really need all d power in d hemi unless ur a petrol head like me.
I always floor my Gas pedal grin grin
Hemi is Great .Having a 6.1L under your hood is a Great thing ...That Engine is Power,Reliability, your Friend and your girlfriend too she needs attention sometimes.
And when she asks you for shotbread biscuit of 350 my broda don't buy her 30naira. Own oh..she fit vex spoil ur hard work .What I mean is don't buy cheap parts. Use recomended oil and Atf .. I have only changed my tranny fluid once or twice.
Parts Don't wear of easily . Apart from regular service ,brake pads and changing my battery
I have had no serious issues since 2012.
My Stamp for that Ride is 9.9\10....
And mostly if ur single like me ..You should know you will have ladies on ur neck
That challenger is a Beauty and will always stand out.
Get a good mech for. Inspection and do buy an obd scanner it helps
If you in lag one of dis days b4 I travel too ghana I can let you get a spin
trust me am Λ petrol head just like you. I have once driven an uncles turbo charged bmw x6 along abuja airport road and trust me I love power under the hood because the only thing people saw about that ride was its break lights so much power and I would love my dodge to be like that. concerning my status, am single and I already have ladies on my neck so adding Λ challenger to my assets wouldn't be Λ problem and besides I should be able to foot the bill. Concerning maintenance and parts, I am not the type that would consult road side mechanics even if I want to change plug; that is why I said I needed dodge service centres. Also if I get the car before december, and I happen to be in lagos we can go for Λ spin on 3rd mainland bridge(lol)

Oh trust me I know all about fire breathing exhaust kits.

Stand back when this car starts it's engines, it almost melted my camera lenses.

Additional power more than stock is something I don't think you need in Nigeria but exhaust kits and other stuff you can get.

If necessary, not required just saying, I can help you with all of these stuff from here. Get all the custom works down and have the car shipped.
тнαηкѕ mate but I think I'll pass Λ cousin of mine is getting it 4 me but I really apreciate it

It's just like any other American car of it's era.

I don't know about Nigerian centers being available for Dodge but you can get all the parts shipped in from the US, it's a rather common vehicle here.

Personally, unless, you're buying it for other reasons I think the HEMI is a waste in Nigerian. You can save much more money by buying the standard issue is you just like the shape.

maybe I can cut back on the hemi then. But what of Λ supercharged engine and possibly Λ fire breathing exhaust kit(hope you know what I mean) hope they can also be imported

Hello everyone please am about to acquire Λ DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8 HEMI and I would like to know the challenges of using such Λ car and how readily available its spare parts are, and if there are dodge designated service centres in nigeria(Abuja and Lagos). Too expensive in terms of manpower and logistics

The only solution would be: mobility

High mobility formations armed with massive fire-power will win the COIN war.

That being said, having the majority of villages and towns garrisoned by men in strongly fortified positions, and a defensive orientated training regime would not be a bad thing.

The towers would be unnecessary, but fortified compounds with heavy weapons would help a long way - the only problem is keeping them adequately supplied and rotating men in and out to keep them "fresh"

Basically what you are looking for is a high-mobility "tip of the spear" supported by the "shaft" composed of low mobility garrison units.
trust me the towers are neccessary because Λ high platform gives the defending force an unfair advantage of first see first kill especially when they are brandished with 20mm cannons they would literarily decimate anytin in deir sights

wich is not good enough because I don't see how they can carry enough ammo and the basic survival kits when they are cut off from the main army in emergency situations

wish Nigeria had Λ fully functional rail network. The trains can be used as timers Λnd used to bring in fresh troops and supplies(ammo and food, clothes and other things) and take back the old ones whenever they reach station. That way, the issue of logistics is practically solved.

patches689: I say this without the intention to insult or offend any members of this group.

I leave the proverbial "beef" in the other thread.

I would say that the biggest problem with the NA in the North is the lack of high mobility QRF formations and rapid response CAS and artillery support.

Patrolling the ground and seeking the enemy amongst the civilian population is extremely hard, even for nations such as the US, UK and France (see: Iraq, Afghanistan, Mali). Thus, difficulties will be inherent and one cannot really criticize the NA for that.

However, the fact that BH can attack NA bases as well as towns, villages and the like - and sustain the assault long enough to capture them or perform their atrocities is the biggest failing of the NA.

Consider the video they recently released (the one linked on this page of the forum). The second they hit that army outpost and town, the NAF should have scrambled CAS assets, heliborne or parachute QRF units should have been responding, and the force commander whom was under attack should have been able to call for fire support from artillery.

But this was clearly not the case. And, even 20-50 of the best men cannot hold out for long against such an overwhelming attack - defeat was inevitable. We can only thank god that some men got out of there alive.

So, in my humble opinion, solutions to the crisis and poor performance are:

1. Establishment of an air-bridge to better supply front-line units. This should be done via medium and heavy lift aircraft moving supplies forward to high-mobility "bush air-strips" where the cargo is then moved to Helo's and transported to the front
- creating an airborne logistical collum reduces the chances of BH ambushes on supply units
- this enables faster re-supply, mid battle if need be
- this enables better supply for units in hard to reach places
- better supply = better moral

2. Establishment of a QRF "umbrella" that covers the entire operational area.
- this should be comprised of artillery, CAS and air-assault infantry (look up the Rhodesian Light Infantry for an example of the finest QRF ever to exist)
- this will allow you to "ambush the ambusher", BH assaults on tactical or strategic or civilian locations could be turned into death traps (for BH) when air mobile formations are dropped to form "stopper groups" that cut off their egress routs, thus trapping BH between the men defending the location and the stopper groups
- Artillery and CAS will, at the very least enable defenders to do more damage to the enemy, making every battle more costly for BH and thus making them think twice about potential targets

3. The distribution of radio and communication equipment amongst village leaders and civilians - this will enable them to warn of sightings of BH formations, or raise early alarms in the case of an attack on a village, thus enabling the NA to deploy QRF units to respond

4. The formation, training and arming of a defensive orientated civilian militia whos dutys will be to defend their villages and farms, and bolster NA units during "sweeps" of areas. As locals their knowledge of their community and surroundings will be an invaluable asset to the NA

5. The creation of a NA unit to perform psuedo-ops. Again, we look to the Bush-War in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe for inspiration - The Selous Scouts. Their duties are simple, dress like BH, act like BH and lure the "real" BH out into ambushes. This is done simply - the psuedo operators are deployed in an area, they walk amongst the people, saying that they are BH and that they have been sent from [insert BH commanders name or training camp here] to bolster the local units. They make contact with local BH units and draw them out into the open where they can be destroyed by regular NA units (preferrably air-mobile units).

6. The intergration of all units operating in the AO in a mutually supporting formation.

Consult the pictures I have attached for a clearer idea.
absolutely spot on. I must add to that your no 4 instead of placing radios in the hands of villagers alone, why not garrison every village and build sentry towers and place 20mm cannons on the towers 2km apart round every village and standby backup incase the insurgents are trying to overrun them and place @list 50 soldiers in every village and if possible because of their minimal numbers, arm them with gpmgs and grenade launchers so as to provide them with maximum firepower

ZeusAyo: I agree with you also concerning the used patria ifvs as stop gap measure. Also the idea of moving hundred of troops @ once makes the troops vulnerable to ambush. Why not divide the entire 7th division into companies of Λ maximum of 20men per unit with each unit having its own gun truck, ammo truck, an Ifv (where they can operate) and standby air support, med evac and air dropped reinforcement and equiping the soldiers with enough supplies to last them two days hunting for insurgents that way we have our own wolf packs and the soldiers should be also be rotated every month so we don't have tired legs and home sick soldiers. And also on troop welfare, for each soldier on active anti insurgency duty, Λ minimum of #5000 per day apart from his regular salary; that way, every soldier would wanna have Λ crack on the frontlines and on the issue of insurance, each soldier should have an active life insurance with the premium(if am wrong plz tell me I no know wetin dem dey call am)being paid monthly by the federal government and also his gratuity should be un failingly paid after his demise. Then on the issue of feeding, its time to put the field kitchens to the test instead of cooking food on firewood as seen earlier on these thread. Just my 2kobo by the way
to also add we need to get mokopa anti tank missiles both air launched, ground launched and vehicle launched to take out anything armoured in the millitants armoury. So the will to use those vehicles would be shattered to pieces

The moment guirella fighters start taking territories, it marks there end because now there location would be properly marked out and if possible, carpet bombed with infantry and sf soldiers blocking all routes leading in and out of the area of conflict. Λ proper hammer and anvil attack. And if it is located in Λ border area, the country on the other side should be properlly notified of the impending operation and they should be proactive by placing troops on there own side of the border thereby further blocking the escape routes of the terrorists and boxing them in then sf commandoes can move in for the kill. Because the NA cannot chase down theses insurgents because they are nimble and faster than the NA land transport wise. I think its time to start using tactics other than brut force. These insurgent are like rats you cannot chase Λ rat over open ground and you hope to kill it you have to box it in Λ corner before you strike the killer blow its time to borrow Λ leaf from the french campaign in Mali: that is, stop moving the entire army together but divide them into units, and make them go hunting with @list 3 mobile arty pieces moving 20km behind them for fire mission support then let's see what happens when you take the party to boko haram themselves.... And please enough with this pmc talk although Λ good idea, it won't work in nigeria especially when opposition parties likes playing politics with everything

I am baffled beyond reason, I don't want believe that we can be so PERVERSELY incompetent, I know CORRUPTION is a huge issue in hardware procurement by the NA & NAF.

Some of the things we talk about are just basic basic military tactics, you don't need to have gone to Sandhurst to know about BASIC COMMON SENSE. In a COIN you would have platoon of soldiers in a group of 3/4 armoured vehicles linked into the larger company patrolling an area with a whole series of battle management contingencies and pro active actions to engage and coax the enemy out to be engaged and destroyed.

For instance a company of 200 soldiers would create 10 rapid response patrols, each platoon would have 2 humvees and a IFV, MRAV and or APC wheeled (less noise and quicker) with enough fire power to engage 200 hundred + boko, call for other units within the company to make a strategic assault with no escapees.

The Humvee is a lot better than the Otokar Cobra can take a 50 cal. each platoon should have a number of high velocity sniper rifles a few recoiles rifle at least i.e M3 varied munitions, and for goodness sake lets get a decent rifle with good range and optical sights. I would suggest the H&K G36 effective in battle conditions 600m will go up to 800m and further, Germans are introducing the H&K416 so it's been phased out but still very good we can get 20k used units on the cheap even with grenade launchers.

Clearly our whole communications and battlefield management needs to to be totally revamped so there's complete connectivity.

I feel these are options our top brass may not take up essentially as there is NO EGUNJE

seconded. But instead of the g36 why not the ak74 with red dot sight and Gls those ones we can get liscence to manufacture locally by dicon then tavor rifle for all special ops soldiers in the entire millitary. Seriously its time the NA starts to go hunting for these blood suckers and if they know they don have enough air support, for christs sake we hav palmarias and if I am right, either bofors or archer arty pieces. That way, the arty team can be 35km away and when the pinned down team calls in Λ fire mission, the can respond within seconds but it call comes down to com&control then someone telling the presido to have his ballz re-attatched

I am in agreement with you, however, the DEAL BREAKER is always precision weaponry having a remote weapons station 20, 30 and or 40mm gives you overriding advantage and changes your battle strategy.

The definitive issue is armour and weapons station, for instance the Bradley M2 and CV-90 are considered to be IFV's, and are tracked as well as being amphibious with very resilient armour they can withstand RPG7's & 30mm rounds. However so also can the Patria, VBCI and Boxster are often called IFV's , APC's and the more current description is MRAV a reflection of their multi role capacity.

I would approach the matter from the perspective of best value, we do not have time to buy and wait for new procurement so I would buy used Patria APC's from the Netherlands, Finland, Poland actually the S.African badger is completely derived from the Patria APC or if you like AMV, have them airlifted in and be in theatre within 24hrs, possibly 30+ via Antonov 124.

I chose the Patria modular platform because of its resilient armour(can stand RPG7's & 30mm cannons), amphibious capability (great for Chad basin )and multiple adapted weapon stations that can be fitted, 30mm Cannons, 40mm grenade launchers and or 12.7mm MG, etc , highly accurate night and day. Target acquisition software means you can take on multiple targets at once, new per unit about $800,000 used with good negotiation less than half price. Not sure if our SA brother are willing to sell on the cheap to us if yes we can go SA procurement.

cheap yes, unreliable yes but with Λ remote controlled 30mm rotary cannon placed ontop that baby, she would be lethal to anything she sets her sights on.
