While at it, he should make sure to train extensively our security people, and I think this is the period to really invest on security devices, etc. No be only to collect egunje and to beat innocent civilians our security men go sabi.

And how is it a state of emergency when the governors would still be in control? I don't get
Politics / Re: Nigeria Now Produce Ten Million Litters Of Petrol Per Day. Jonathan by zibe(m): 7:14pm On May 03, 2013
While this is commendable if true, It's not by producing 10million Litters of petrol. We need to feel the effects of such additional income in our economy. The only effects will likely be in you and you co-horts' pockets. I pray to be proved wrong.

TV/Movies / Re: Which Nigerian Book Would You Want Adapted Into A Movie? by zibe(m): 6:56pm On Apr 29, 2013
vicade: The Joys of Motherhood by Buchi Emecheta-So Powerful and Emotional I doubt if nollywood can pull it off.

I also like "The Road". Its a play by wole soyinka and a very funny one at that. I also doubt if this can be adapted for screen by nollywood.

Twinge Twangle by Femi Osofisan

Joys of Motherhood by Emecheta would always be a great book! Too bad it isn't that popular. Making a movie out of these books would really be cool, and I think it would have to involve a big budget, just so it doesn't look like the average movie that nollywood is mostly known to produce..

The Potter's Wheel and The Bottled Leopard are other books I'd loove to see as movies.

Finally, The Lion and The Jewel by Wole Soyinka.
The good thing about these books is that it tells the Nigerian culture as it was, during our fathers' times. These are the kinda movies we need to sell to the world, just like the book, "Things Fall Apart"

Why would they allow the same politicians that Achebe was against, to set a date for his burial? Achebe wouldn't want that. The family should know better!

Romance / Re: 5 Thoughtful Tips For Being A Long-distance BFF by zibe(m): 7:52am On Apr 09, 2013
Me and my friends have been maintaining this routine since we left school, and subsequently passed out from NYSC last year. Four of us, all best friends since year 1 in school days. We always made sure to have a get together whenever any of us is celebrating a birthday, and when there's an achievement...like when we all got jobs after service. Nowadays it's hard meeting, but we still make sure we do, especially on our birthdays, or during a change of job for better. The girl amongs us will be getting married soon, and we'll all be flying down to celebrate with her. Nothing beats growing up with your best friends and watching each other as you achieve things in life.

I can't believe a President would still think like this today. Did we put you there to preach to us? Pastors and Imams are already doing enough of that. Smdh. If we needed a Pastor as a president, we would have voted in Okotie. I give up on the guy sha. The same evil forces that are making him to release all the high profile criminals and grant amnesty to boko boys. Delusion.

Properties / Re: Landlords Or Agents Duping Prospective Tenants: How To Avoid Being Scammed Too by zibe(m): 7:36pm On Apr 02, 2013
torhuke: My Mum Fell victim of this kind of scam somtim in 2003 in ikorodu. We were tenants in TOS benson estate (aka marwa estate) owutu, ikorodu. Our LandLord sold d house to aonther person who den gave my mum quit notice becos he desperately needed the house. According to him (the now 'new Landlord'), something or sombody was going to kill him if he does not move out fast from where he was to where we are (the appartment he jst bought). Since our rent had expired abt dt tym and we could nt renew it, my mum statd lookin for another apartment. My mum wx pregnant wt our last born xo we were desperate to move out b4 her due date of delivery. She paid for a new house (2 bedroom flat) arond benson bustop and she was even given d keys to d apartment. The day we went ther wt buckets and mop and brooms to wash the house (wt the sweet mind of moving-in the folowin day or next),the locks had been changed and the keys we were having couldn't open d doors both front nd back. It was like a film. Me, my mum, my yonger sis and bro were jst confused. My kid bro who was abt 5 years den was asking my mum why we were standing outside insteand of going in 2 waash d apartment. We went back home. My mum was jst confused but she styl had a feeln she got the wrong keys becos she and d agent came to d house and he opend d doors wt d keys and dat wx wen she assesd d palce b4 paying d rent for 2-years. The following day, she went to the agents office and there she met 3-men who had also been scamed wt the same apartment. The agent had collected rent frm about four tenants on d same apartment. My mum was the lastt person dat paid from them all. The soldier was d one who changed the keys wen he and 2 others were draging abt who the real tenant is. In all of these, the agents Phantom ofice wx locked and the agent wx no where to be found. To cut the long story short, that was haw my mum was duped of #175,000 back in 2003. That was wht made us relocate to ondo state till 2day.

Wow. This is just too sad. How heartless could someone be.

polokor60: my ex gf is from urhobo and she have it as well,i don't know how i would describe it.it's very tiny, the same tune with the skin colour, just on one tiny spot on the cheek/entire face.some times you won't presume it to be a tribal mark.if you come in contact with most people from urhobo who are more than 25 years of age, just take a close look at their cheek, you would see it but if you don't look closely you may not see it.it's pretty cool.Tribal mark in general is almost extinct and it's irrelevant in this present age. cool cool

Yea I have friends from there and the mark does look fine

And some people here would dare open their mouths to castigate him and ask what he has contributed to the country's development. Yup, he definitely contributed to many people's intellectual development, myself inclusive.

Politics / Re: Insider Account of the presidential Pardon by zibe(m): 7:44am On Mar 14, 2013
sammyzacks: All of you commenting here need pardon from God for all the terrible sins you keep committing everyday day. Pardon doesn't say you never committed the offence. It simply says you are forgiven. What is your problem with that? It's called mercy, you must not merit it.

In that case, every prisoner in the country should be pardoned. This will make it fair, since everyone can turn a new leaf, or don't you think so?

Culture / Re: Your Thoughts On African Americans Moving Back To Africa. by zibe(m): 7:43pm On Feb 20, 2013
As I read all these, I can't help but feel sad for my dear country. This would not be happening if our leaders had seen beyond their greed and used their stolen monies to develop Africa as a whole instead of enriching their pocket.

By now, these people would practically be begging to return back to Africa and live in our lands instead of thinking they could lord over our lands. And of course it wouldn't be us moving out in drones to America and its likes. I wouldn't blame them, they've only seen the potentials that our governments have failed to see.

Maybe, just maybe, this plan would wake up the thieves in all the African countries pretending that they are doing a good job.
