Funny, this is exactly how I feel right now. Probably worse.

At 22, a graduate and in an unsatisfying job after NYSC, I'm feeling like my youth has been stolen away from me. Pressures are slowly mounting from everywhere and I feel old already. Crazy.

And I'm just coming back from a final stage interview in a company I love only to be told I don't have an experience in the field...and I was like..then why did I get to this stage? Smh.

Just a lil of what it is sha.

Seriously can't believe that Chinua Achebe was placed alongside people like Farook Lawan in this shame category. We keep talking about corruption but people deem it fit to regard the deeds of Farook as a lesser offence to that of Achebe. Oh well.

Rocktation: I hope the mods here, forgive us. Ishi, I saw that obiaruku discussion.
Afam, the roots I mean now, is completely erasing their actual ancestral lands from their discussions and even memories sometimes. An example is the Kwale people in Ndokwa-east. Most of them migrated from Ada, an isoko land, because of fertile lands and fresh fish and even speak Ukwani till date. A lot of our generation do not know this, buh a few of our oldies still relay the truth.

Thought Kwale people are from Ndokwa West

ZUWO- a synonym for "stupid" in UNN (UNEC to be precise, the other campus). I remember we always used it jokingly. Funny, I still use it on my friends from same school, almost 2yrs after leaving.

centje: Yes,its possible to have complications or even die from such acute retention of urine. Over Prolongation of urine can trigger acute retention especially in the older people.

Now that's an insight. Thanks for the input

Lol. True though.

Health / Can Complications Arise From A Filled-up Bladder? by zibe(m): 5:56pm On Dec 08, 2012
This question came to my mind after the ordeal I passed through yesterday.

I closed early from work yesterday, and I felt like passing out urine, since I took a lot of water the whole day. As usual, I just dismissed the thought and started going home. It actually became an issue when I was inside the bus home and realised the urge to go ease myself was going strong. Yesterday's traffic was something else cos of th "Experience" show and the "Shiloh" people that were finding their way to their venues in the evening. Because of this I spent hours in traffic, and couldn't come down to ease myself.

By the time the bus stopped, I was literally sweating and I was actually starting to walk funny. It was obvious to any inquisitive eye that something was wrong down there. I started looking for an available place to pass out urine before I get home but I couldn't just stand on the road to pee. I really thought my bladder was gonna burst, even my s.ex organ was feeling heavy. I finally got home and the best feeling in the world was when I actually did the thing. So euphoric. Lol.

Anyway, I just want to ask the medical people in the house if someone can have complications or something from a filled-up bladder.

My only issue with this is the location. Abuja is developed enough. Try developing other corners of Nigeria.

LMFAO!!!! This is so funny.

I'm guessing there are no computers and internet there too, yea? Cos they can as well go on and ban those. Any girl that wants to elope can do that without the use of a phone, in these days of skype, etc. They should rather treat their women well.

Novels for me.

Watching the DaVinci Code movie wasn't as interesting as reading the book. So many things were altered just to make the movie not too long. My imaginations of the casts with the novel were better IMO.

Same thing goes for John Grisham's Runaway Jury.

A girl that's my neighbour got pregnant right after we finished secondary school. We finished together and she lives opposite my place. I went to school and when I came back for the holidays in my 2nd year, she was heavily pregnant again. That was 3 yrs ago and she's not yet married now. Two kids right in her parents' house. I don't actually blame her, but I just can't help but wonder "how come" each time I see her with the kids. She's not yet in school (jamb wahala), but I still believe she can better her life..with time.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Unconventional Job Interviews You Have Experienced. by zibe(m): 12:10pm On Nov 09, 2012
dadaic: Nice thread...

I will share my experience...

I was invited to Aiico for the first time in my life, and there i was with my friend, and some other people, the man asked a question to the first person, if you were told that you have just had HIV and you are still in the window stage, what would you have done if you realized the person you had sex with was Aan HIV patient, and to my surprise, the guy gave long stories...

The next question was given to the other guy where he was asked to differentiate between a blue/white collar job, you need to hear what a graduate said..

I was called for access bank interview after the man who claimed to have worked with aiico had his belt like those in the pyscho home, and we were so much, well, only 7 of us were called, i was called in for the first stage with a two panel interview, and wowed them, then i was called for the second stage and there it was, i made the interviewer cry when she asked me what my values were, (i can lie sha), but i just thought i could do pretty well at the interview, anyway, she gave me the job and i wasn't told to move to the third stage, you need to see me forming paparazzi for them, they would call me and ask if i was still interested, but i left.

Then GLO...UMM...Have you ever met sango wawa, that man is fresh, i handed my CV to him, and when i left his office, 2mins i was called in for the interview, anyway, i was shocked, i went home that day and to God be the glory went to borrow suit as usual, and i started my journey from ogun state to VI, when i got to CMS, rain started well and ended well on me, and there i was, they look at your attire, your confidence, and for the ladies, please find brazilian hair to borrow, this is no joke, they look at this, i was not given the job when i was shivering my ass out, i couldn't talk, my friend who was also there was not given the job, she didn't make her hair, that was their reason, you need to see the ladies asking questions, the company will run down if those kind of people continue there.

Then Sahara, well, people won't believe it, we were asked to look for white nokia 3310, you need to see people rushing to village to buy phone na, the next stage, we were asked to dress in a traditional attire and discuss on what we have worn, third stage, we were asked to dance azonto, at stage four, people didn't show up anymore, because they thought it was a joke, then they asked to tell if they had ever cheated before in their relationship, i mean they would let you wait till late that night, well, after so many insult and useless ideas these so called hr think they have, the job was given to some few persons.

And my last one, umm, there are plenty sha, but me i won't say the name of the company...so easy, and the pay is about 320,000k, yes oo, in naija, if you like believe it or not. I met the man at the plane, and we just talked, he was asking general questions and there he was just finding out my views to somethings, as plane land, he said i didn't realize i was on the plane, for stealing my attention, here is my card, i was like who are these gay people again, i didn't call the man with my shakara sef, but with my big head, i took my phone and called the man, he told me he was flying back to lagos and if i would love to accompany him, after all na woman i come find, as i through with the woman, i enter plane oo,..no jokes, and again as a big mouthed person my father taught me, i stole his attention, i didn't know i was talking to the ceo of the company and he invited me over, asked me to come see him at sheraton, o boy, which kind man i meet na, and he was with his PA, and some other white people like this, and me wey be sey e don tey wey i be wan talk my mind to these white people, i was shocked, they just gave me a contract to fill, and there it was, the job, a PERMANENT KID WORKING WITH SO SO SO...It will be well sha, someday i would love to do this for someone as well, if you can steal my attention, then you have a job...

Stop lying. No one was asked to dance azonto at Sahara's third stage. That was at the first stage for some people, only cos they wanted to eliminate much. The third and final stage was more conventional and very much standardized. I'm saying it cos I was In the third stage. Don't know much about the final stage, but any one that got past the first stage certainly didn't see it as a joke.

Politics / Re: David Mark.. National Assembly Will Create More State, Anioma To Join Anambra by zibe(m): 8:13pm On Nov 08, 2012
These people are hell bent on waging war in Anambra if this happens. Create your Anioma and leave out Anambra na. We're united as it is already. Those in Anambra that are claiming not to be full Igbo should simply go to Delta, cos I understand that, from history, they migrated from Delta to Anambra.

And I seriously hope the person mentioning oraifite as Anioma is joking!
