Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Unconventional Job Interviews You Have Experienced. by zibe(m): 10:47am On Nov 08, 2012
One of the top Nigerian owned oil companies.

Pre first stage: facebook things. We were told to add up the company's representative on FB. From that we were assigned to different groups on same FB. We got to know each other from there and discussed too.

1st stage interview: we were told to dress in "smart casuals", and the interview lasted for like 5mins.

2nd stage: told to come with our full traditional attire. 10man panel which was done in a kind of rotational way, where you're timed and you have to meet the next interviewer in 3mins. This means that in 30mins, you should have met the 10 interviewers. Points are deducted if you don't.

3rd stage: this was the only stage that looked like the normal interview, only that we were sent a mail a day to the interview on an assignment to submit. We were grouped in 8 and we had to meet our group memrs that same day. A guy flew down from kano that day in my own group. After presenting the assignment, we were then interviewed individually.

Didn't make it to the final stage but it was a really wonderful experience. Heard the final stage involved being lodged in a hotel on the island for a weekend. Lol

Over there they use TELEPROMPTER; ask google for more. Which is more easier than reading from a paper.

Ignorance is truly bliss.

He didn't use a teleprompter for this speech.

NYSC / Re: I Laminated My Callup Letter; Is There Any Punishment For That? by zibe(m): 11:30am On Nov 04, 2012
Hmmm. I remember last year in camp, some people came to camp with their laminated call-up letters, and were made to "unlaminate" them with any means possible. Some used razor blades and others used scissors. Just be careful so that you don't get the letter torn.

Family / Re: Three Of 10 Men Are Not Fathers Of Their ‘kids’, Says DNA Expert by zibe(m): 11:31pm On Sep 30, 2012
This reminds me of one of my friends. He impregnated his girlfriend in school 2yrs ago and since the girl was afraid of abortion, she decided to have the baby, but the deal was that the guy would take care of the baby, so my friend's mum is actually the one taking care of the child (after series of quarrels with my friend of course). Now the girl married another guy this year but the guy actually doesn't know that the girl has a son from another man. I know this cos my friend told me that the girl decided to forget everything that had to do with him(my friend).

Now although this is a different scenario, I'm only wondering what would become of the boy if he actually finds out about his mother one day and decides to confront her...and then the mum's husband gets to know.

My point is...the child is probably going to be the one that has to deal with all these lies at the end.

Politics / Re: Obi Launches Battle Against Kidnapping In Anambra by zibe(m): 8:40pm On Sep 06, 2012
ZUBY77:

OK Afam.

The fact remains that you're an Igbo person, and when it all boils down to the war against various tribes, no other tribe would hide you, all cos you claim that Anambra people are the worst Igbos;except of course you choose to identify with another tribe and forget Igbo totally. I wonder what you would have said if Anambra and Enugu were still same state. Crimes happen everywhere...and the fact remains that Igbos are generally considered money-conscious. Today it is Anambra in such negative spotlight, tomorrow it could be Enugu. Obviously you have personal beef with Anambra people, cos I don't think you said the same thing when Abia was rampant with kidnappings.

samsown: The lord is really our muscle. Haven't heard anything about the team work thing from sahara yet ooooo but I guess its inevitable since mine is tomorrow.
Wanted to confirm if any of you got an auto-reply when you sent the power point presentation, that the person was not in the office.
All the best today! God's favor be on you guys!

Yes I got an auto-reply too. Doesn't matter. They definitely received.

Had mine today. After the group presentation, then they throw questions to your group. The questions were focused more on finance aspect for my group. After that then they assess you guys individually. You have to do your personal powerpoint presentation (the one you sent to ash), then they throw more questions at you. I'm guessing the interviewers this time are the managers in different fields.just be yourself sha

@100shades, hope yours went well too.

I just got to know that people that have their interviews today were given a group task just yesterday, and they'll be presenting it together today. I guess we'll be expecting our own group task soon. About the interview props, I sure will.

Check my last post and update. Depending on how far we go, we can always provide info for others.

Good to know someone else made it to this stage. I think the slashing was really much cos even the various groups on FB have been so silent.

So nervous here o. Done with the assignment and I hope and pray its good enough. My interview is on tuesday, 11am. When is yours? And do you have any idea as to how many stages it takes? I heard 4. Don't know how true.
