Why isn't any info about the calendar that circulated late last year on the EKSU website? |
OLAADEGBU: All I need to do is to use the laws of logic and the laws of science to debunk your myths and arrive at the scientific evidence that there has to be a Creator God.The almighty god has no beginning? He is beyond time? Extraordinary! But such a claim/statement would require an extraordinary evidence as well. What evidence do you have for the above claim? |
You could be forgiven for having consigned it to the rubbish bin a decade or two ago. But if you do still happen to have a 1986 calendar lying around, you’re in luck. Because while the vintage pictures may seem a little out of date, the dates themselves will match up perfectly with the year ahead. The dates of 1986 are exactly aligned with the dates of 2014 – so anyone who does discover a dusty 27-year-old calendar in the cupboard will find it is a perfect fit all over again. And the overlap has provided inspiration for calendar makers, who have started reprinting photos from the 1980s in celebration of the event. Instead of shooting a new calendar for this year, bosses at Pirelli decided to release an unpublished set of pictures by prolific fashion photographer Helmut Newton, intended for the year 1986. The idea has also caught the imagination of plenty of internet users, with 1986 calendars popping up for sale on websites such as eBay. One Baywatch-inspired swimsuit calendar from the 80s changed hands for almost $50 (£30), while a wrestling one featuring Hulk Hogan was listed for $21.95 (£13.25) and a limited edition Steiff Teddy Bear Collection calendar was up for grabs priced at $20 (£12). Last night more than 300 other calendars from 1986 were listed for sale as more people rushed to get in on the craze – or perhaps just clear out their cupboards. But while the matching of dates across years seems unusual, it actually is not that rare an occurrence. Calendars from 1997 and 2003 will also prove a perfect fit with this year’s dates. And if you’re the type to plan ahead, 2014 calendars will work for 2025 – which may come as some comfort to fans of Sir Cliff Richard, who last month announced that his 2014 calendar would be his last. Sir Cliff is believed to have sold more than 1.5million calendars over his career and regularly features in the top ten lists, but says they have become too much ‘pressure’ as he gets older. The 2014 calendar shows the 73-year-old wearing cowboy boots perched on the bonnet of a car and walking down railway tracks with a guitar on his back. Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow all also feature in Amazon’s top ten best-selling calendars for 2014. Source: http:// www.osundefender.org/?p=142360 |

Ah sweerie! I can't believe you couldn't answer that one. It is one of the numerous questions I have. That's why I left christainity. There are too many inconsistencies. |
Is the acceptance fee still payable? |
O.P bro, what hell are you talking about? Yahweh's hell? Allah's hell? |
Genesis 6:3: And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. - King James Bible "Authorized Version", Cambridge Edition This is a very interesting verse of the Bible. Here, man is clearly given a limitation. He cannot live past the age of one hundred and twenty. Isn't it however remarkable that quite a number of people now live well past and above that age? Or, has god pushed that age limit a bit further? Hence, wouldn't it be logical to conclude that the current bible is archaic and needs updating? Is there any other christain interpretation of this verse that my carnal mind cannot comprehend? (even though it looks quite straight forward enough). Do share your thoughts. |
Beehorn: who told you Jesus wasn't given birth to through human copulation?Nah. Mary is supposed to be a virgin. If Joseph popped her cherry, that explains the chromosomes but proves that the character, "Jesus", was born through "sin", with "sin", and is very much human. If it was the holy spirit that popped it, that begs the question once again, where did the other half of his chromosomes come from? |
Re: Adeboye, Olukoya, Oyedepo, Oritsajafor, Listen To Christ Warning & Amend Ur Way by perilioustime: 1:34pm On Dec 27 @ highyo, dont bother yourself. And also Check on the youth of the church, they've started adopting worldliness into their life I love you daddy kumuyi ADEBOYE i love you too sir You have laboured so much in the past. Dont compromise, but teach member how to live and practice holiness. Band the use of ornament, trousers, wedding ring, attachment. Force the member to dress like mummy G.O. Never care if the member run or stay. Preach more on hell, rapture, sanctification, holiness, restitution and how little mistake can lead people to hell. I love you daddy ORITSAJAFOR, turn away from politice and live a holy life. I dont know anything about your church or member, but the way your wife dresses contradict the word of God OYAKILOME. If what I heard people saying about your preaching is true, that drinking alcholic is not a sin, mastubating is not a sin, that eternal security is sure, once saved forever saved, Stop it if it's true. Those are Antichrist teaching. Remove that Jerry coil of yours Band wearing of trousers for ladies Band use of attachments Band the use of women leading a church Cancel head opening for female in church then preach holiness OKOTIE = Ah Uncle, stop the use of Big-Big grammer in the church so that illitrate too can come go back to your first wife you divorce if what I heard is true chase away the new wife (Mal2:16) God said I hate divorce. aManFromMars: There's no objective morality. So why would anyone expect atheists to form a general view of morality?Apt intelligence. You just summarized the whole article. |
Ogbologbo: Please sir, your morality seems to be limited to social behavior. What about such moral imperatives like 'work hard'. It is better to work hard than to be lazy.Sir. Your first issue in respect to morality is "nol prosequi". Hard work and laziness are relative. Also, cheating as a way of being smart does not conform with social standards. It is criminal. Whether the society accepts it or not does not make it any more or less so. |
Logicboy03: Too long, didnt readOwkae Brother. I'ld try to make the next one a lot shorter and more concise. |
Many religious believers seem to think that they can stump any atheist by demanding to know where morality comes from. If God doesn’t exist, who is the divine law giver? This question actually answers itself. If there is no God, then there isn’t a divine law giver. This leaves many religious believers scratching their heads wondering where atheists get our morals from. Of course, I contend that atheists get our morals from the same place religious believers get their morals from (most of the time). I know this might come as a shock to some religious believers, but you don’t get your morals from God or the Bible. Unfortunately, it turns out that many atheists don’t know where our morals come from either and so I thought I would do my best to explain where we are in moral philosophy today in this quick summery. However, the field of ethics is rather large and usually has a full bookshelf or more devoted to it in most libraries and bookstores so I encourage people to go and read some of the books on those shelves to get a better understanding of moral philosophy. There are plenty of introduction to ethics books there too. This is just a short answer to the question. One of humanities evolutionary adaptations which have helped us to survive and thrive is our ability to work together in groups. It is unlikely that you would be able to find a person who is completely self-sufficient. Everything we have in our society, we have because we are able to work together. Because humans are complex creatures, we need rules to help us deal with the complexities of cooperative living. This is the beginning of morality. The social contract is a tacit agreement between everyone in the community to help us work together. While this social contract is great at first glance, it is not sufficient. What happens when those who make the social contract do so to favor their own interests rather than the interests of those with less power? Enter the concepts of fairness and justice. These concepts arise out of our sense of empathy and compassion. We have evolved to the point where we can imagine what it is like to be in someone else’s situation. We wouldn’t want to be treated unfairly ourselves, so when someone else is being treated unfairly, we generally feel compassion toward them. We know from past experience and from reasonable suppositions that certain actions, attitudes, and/or rules are not helpful in advancing the wellbeing of both individuals and for society as a whole. When rules are unfair, the people who are treated unfairly tend to feel resentment and that resentment isn’t helpful to society as a whole. It goes without saying that it isn’t helpful for the individuals either. It is important to note that morality doesn’t exist in a vacuum. If there were no sentient creature (or only one) then there would be no need for morality. While to some extent it can be argued morality is a human construct, it would not be accurate to claim that morality is made-up out of whole cloth at our relativistic whim. Morality is simply our understanding of cause and effect coupled with our desire for the wellbeing of society and individuals in society. Those desires are born out of our sense of empathy and compassion for others. No deities involved. |
Joshthefirst: We don't have all the answers too. So when we say we don't know, don't explode.Atheists and butthurt? Butthurt is something synonymous with christains and christainity. You lot get that loads of times. P.S: This is very interesting. A christian finally admits that they donot have all the answers. |
These are calculated predictions. They are not prophecies. Besides, I am only concerned with the World Cup thingy. Olamide once pulled this kinda stunt on the SE and they not only got to the final but did win the ANC. It might just be deja vu all over again. |
Beehorn: am coming back to answer your question.Ope o! |
My reply to Drumma's answers coming up. P.S: All the answers carry a note of comedy. |
DrummaBoy: He will get an answer just that it may not be too exhaustive as the questions are many.Ope o! I finally would be saved. |
