Found this online. It's a pity TA Orji could not make it happen till he left. Source ...... http://info.jctrans.com/jcnet/news/pn/201312251995564.shtml Abia Set To Build Sea Port Determined to remove Abia State from its landlocked status and enhance economic and commercial activities the state government has concluded plans to build its own seaport. The decision to build the seaport which is to be located at Obuaku in Ukwa West local government is coming on the heels of governments announcement that plans are in top gear to build an airport in the state. Commissioner for information and strategy, Dr Eze Chikamnayo who disclosed this after the last state executive council meeting in Umuahia said the two projects would be executed simultaneously. The sea port which will be the first in the South East geopolitical zone would help importers and exporter from the state carry out their business with more ease and reduce the distance they have to travel to clear their goods. The sea port he added would also create employment for the teeming unemployed youths in the state both skilled and unskilled. Defending the location of the seaport, he said that unlike Port Harcourt Sea port which is about 10 miles from Port Harcourt City, the proposed Obuaku seaport is less than five miles to the Atlantic Ocean. The commissioner said that already a committee has been set up to see to the development of the seaport which will see Governor Theodore Orji emerging as the first governor in the South East to build a sea port. On the air port project, he said that an appropriate site had been acquired cutting across Ikwuano and Umuahia south local government areas covering an area of 24 square miles. |
The proposed Obuaku Seaport route does not have anything to do with river niger or Cameroon whatsoever. They will need to liaise with Akwa Ibom State government because that's the access route. Obuaku is located at Ukwa West LG in Abia State. It will be just like Hamburg Seaport at Germany. It's located some nautical miles from the sea. Check the map well Sir. It's a pity SE governors never worked on it till Jonathan left. Yet, I believe GrandPa will approve it. All they need is get investors (PPP). It is well.

adeekiti:It'll be well maintained, it's DHQ we are talking about Bro. Cheers. |
Cc : Lalasticlala Pls do the needful. |
That's a good decision. I trust the people, they are going to retaliate severely if they are still where they dwell. Now, government need to provide security for them till the issue died down. Ekiti people no dey smile ooooooooo. This issue should be contained before it gets out of hand. Nigeria shall be better. It is well. |
I'm glad the radio station has been commissioned eventually. No more "baba so pe". People will hear from the horse's mouth henceforth. Nigeria shall be better. It is well. |
Source ..... http://www.punchng.com/news/jonathan-opens-defence-radio-in-abuja-barracks/ President Goodluck on Friday inaugurated a radio station, owned by the Defence Headquarters, Defence Radio 107.7 FM of the Armed Forces Radio Services, in Abuja. The radio station is located inside the Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja. Jonathan said the Radio Station, which is said to be first of its kind in West Africa, would play a crucial role in informing the public about the activities of the Armed Forces. The President, who commended the Armed Forces for their resilience in the fight against insurgency in the North-East, condemned negative and unproductive criticisms against the military. He said while it was important to criticise, such an action should not be taken to weaken troops morale.

That's a very good idea. Obiaku can be accessed through a river from Akwa-Ibom State to Abia State. It'll be a successful project if they could unite, plan and present the proposal to FG for approval. Even though they should have done this in Jonathan's era yet I believe it shall be approved by the incoming President. I wish them best of luck. Nigeria shall be better. But OP, I have a question oooooo. Most of Nigeria's importers are Igbos, why is it so hard for them to patronize Warri, Onne or Calabar seaports? (Big ships can berth successfully at the seaports). Could it be because they are not situated at SE or what? It is well. |
What a crazy thread. |
GenIgrigi: ![]() Unna all don retire nah. We are all happy for the peace we are enjoying now. Have a blessed day Gen Igirigi |
omonnakoda:This is so funny. |
Interesting thread. Well done Ma'am. |
… Secondus takes over Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu on Wednesday resigned as National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party. The embattled chairman in a letter he wrote to the party’s Deputy National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, noted that due to the party’s defeat in the March 28 presidential election, it has become important for him vacate his position as PDP chairman for peace to reign in the party. He asked Secondus to take over as acting national chairman in line with the party’s constitution. Details later… Source ...... http://thenationonlineng.net/new/muazu-resigns-as-pdp-chairman/

I've heard about the woman, I think she has a gallery at Osogbo. More blessing. |
I think it should have been sited at Ogun State. It's well sha. |
What an interesting thread. I read from page 0 to page 10. WE shall overcome this problem. It is well. |
Lesgupnigeria, jethro2, stagger and other contributors You have all done well. I've learnt a lot from this thread. It is well. |
Alaabaa .... in Ijesha's dialect. ![]() |
It's nothing but injustice. This is the appropriate time for the militant leaders to fight for their people. Unfortunately, most of them are after what they'll gain. They've delayed the bill for so long. Nansense. |
Wish them best of luck, hope we win it this time around. |
A very good idea. We shall be back. |
This is nothing but bullshitt. This is the appropriate time for Militant Leaders to protest the injustice. This is the time to convince people that they are not "everywhere wey belle face na the way". Just imagine the nansense "the entire country as the host community". This is unfair. This is injustice. Too badt. I weep for this country. Sad. |
They should let this matter rest nah. |
HonEmeritus:You've been noticed. |
How I Met President Jonathan.............. Mr Oga, how did you meet Oga Jonah nah? He performed though. Wish him best of luck. |
superstar1:You are very brilliant Bro. I owe you some bottles. omonnakoda:You are right Sir. Yet, I think SS people need to be serious if really they want to have a deep seaport. Akpabio ran his mouth for 8years about building Ibaka seasport, up till now, the seaport is in pipeline. They should hold their leaders and their militant boys responsible for their problems. Warri is a good example. One of the reasons why I like Tinubu (even though the dude have his own issues) is his innovative thinking. Tinubu is full of ideas. It is well. at topic, Jonah just woke up few days before he vacates the position. Jonah Jonah Jonah........He's indeed a Jonah(Olorun Iya). Alaabaa. |
sonymerlot:Thanks Bawse. May we never experience such incidence again. It is well. I miss Ife. I just love the town. |
Ogbeni Gowon, Go and sit down. Stop bringing up this issue. There was nothing civil about the un-civil war. It was a very unfortunate event. Life goes on. Let a sleeping dog lie. |
