Nice concept. I admire her boldness to express her imagination in an anti-creativity, anti-imagination clime like Nigeria.

As to title for this new superhero, what would Cisco Ramon call her? Parade Bird? Wonder Corper? Grappling Girl? Captain Corper?...lolz...I don try nah

Ihedinobi3, if your gift lies in apologetics then by all means exercise it. There are differing gifts but the same Giver, our Creator. That's what makes us different members of the Body of Christ.

I stand corrected. An oversight on my part as regards the sequence of events that should be fulfilled in the end times. In Revelation chapter 19, we see that what triggers the Armageddon into fulfillment is that the Beast and the world rulers, in an alliance, wage war against the Lion of Judah. Christ responds by descending with His own armies, clothed in deep red, to battle. The Beast and his False Prophet were thrown alive into the lake of fire. These two will be the first to taste the wrath of God which manifests as the lake of fire. The rest who waged war against Christ and His people would be killed but they will not taste the lake of fire until the Thousand Year Reign of Christ is over. We do know, however, that not all unbelievers are destroyed in this war. Thus ends the Armageddon with the victory of Christ.

Revelation chapter 20 introduces the Millennial Reign of Christ which is prefaced by Satan being bound and locked up by an angel of God in the bottomless pit for a thousand years. The Millennial Age is also known as The Great Sabbath. It represents the seventh day in which God rested from His works. It is the age of rest and peace. The nations of the world will be required to go down to Jerusalem in Israel once every year to worship the world Ruler, Christ, for a thousand years.

The sequence of events follow each other as you rightly described. As the Millennial Age comes to an end the Devil will be released so that he will deceive the nations to rebel against the Messiah. This is known as the Rebellion. The Lord will rain fire from heaven to devour the adversaries. There will be no unbeliever who survives after this. The Devil will be cast into the lake of fire to make him the third person to experience God's wrath...

There are so many things I wish I could relate to Christians about our eternal inheritance in Christ and how nothing on earth compares to the rewards that I find it difficult to express to them...but it seems you have knowledge of that and am very happy you do. It goes to show that, I know, nobody can hope to deceive your kind of person with your spiritual maturity with vain philosophy and argument against the belief in God's existence. This itself is grace from God, and not of works. We are blessed beyond understanding. Our inheritance and rewards in Christ are so MOUTH-WATERING and UNBELIEVABLY GREAT that I am ever determined to lay aside any weight and run my race with patience and determination to the finish line...a determination I'm very sure you possess as well.

An unbeliever may ask, "If your inheritance is so great then why do you Christians fear and run away from death? Why do you testify that you escaped death? Isn't that how you guys receive your heavenly rewards?" The ignorance in that statement lies in the fact that if that were so then the individual purpose for which God sent each one of us to earth would be unfulfilled. When a person's purpose on earth is accomplished that's when God can decide to take them. Problem is many die without fulfilling their purpose in life. Besides, Christians use their time on earth to prepare for their life in eternity, especially that of being rewarded powers of the Age to come.

If only so many Christians today will read...read....read...many would not have fallen prey to the deception and lies of the devil today. It is not only about just praying....one also has to read much. If many Christians will just try and discover for themselves God's AMAZING PLANS for His children they would not waste a second in accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour. I guess you know much of this because you are an avid reader.

One of the most hilarious comments I ever read an unbeliever made about eternity in heaven is that Christians will laze around all eternity on idly floating clouds, with nothing to do but, with harps, sing Kumbaya...hahahahahaha. I never heard something more grotesque. Lolzzz

Ihedinobi3:

We're exactly of the same mind.

Regarding unbelievers, I did say,

"Of course, not all unbelievers head that way. Some do begin to take a more critical, objective look at the house of dreams they have built for themselves and ask if they might not truly be lies."

We were all unbelievers once, after all. Nobody was born a believer. That is a perspective worth hanging on to because once we lose it, we become unbearably arrogant.

In fact, during the Tribulation, not every unbeliever will throw in with Antichrist. Plenty enough of them will refuse to take his mark or join in the persecution of Christians. Not so plenty that it will make a difference though. In fact, such people will be comparatively very few indeed and possibly far between. It is possible to be an indifferent believer. The vast majority of unbelievers today are indifferent about spiritual matters. They don't care what the Truth is. They want to live life on their terms and worry about the consequences later, whenever that may be.

Unfortunately, however nice and non-threatening an unbeliever may be in their indifference, they are not friends to the Truth, so even after living under the perfect conditions of life in the Millennial Earth under the Rule of the Lord Jesus, they will rise up to try to overthrow Him. So, it will never be a good idea to expect much from an unbeliever. One may hope that some dear one may be saved because they are so nice, but unbelief is by definition implacable enmity against God. It is a refusal to give God His Due. The unbeliever accuses God of lying in one way or another even if they never admit such a thing. So, they are not people we should expect much from.

The most important thing to keep in mind about unbelievers, in my thinking, is that as long as they are alive, they may yet repent and believe... Or they may not. So, we ought not to treat them like they could never become part of our family or as though it is absolutely certain that they will be. This is another place where we must be gentle and harmless like doves and very shrewd like snakes.

On point. I am of the same opinion as well. One most important reason I don't want to engage in argument with them anymore is that the only job of the Christian is to tell them the message, that is, if they're willing to hear. The job of convicting them of their sins belongs to the Holy Spirit. Argument, as you know, has done nothing but fan the flame of their unbelief.

Come to think of it, if they won't listen to Jesus knocking on their hearts will they listen to us imploring them to open their hearts to Jesus? I doubt it much.

As regards the Millennial Reign after which is the Armageddon, the unbelievers will wage war against Christ and His Redeemed because they would have come to terms with their fate as any unbeliever who is alive at that time must definitely have taken the mark of the Beast OR worshipped his image so they acknowledge that their condemnation is certain even if they get to taste a very very little of paradise on earth. This informs why they will readily take up arms against the King of kings and His people after the devil has been released from his 1000 years of torment in the Bottomless Pit.

The fact that they cannot all be saved is a truism. Only we pray that many be saved so they can be snatched from the fire. The believers too should tread very carefully when reaching out to them so that their actions do not result in the unbelievers drifting further away from Christ, neither should they let their guards down so that they are drawn into the perdition of the lost and be disqualified from the race.

Ihedinobi3, you've made much sense in this post of yours. I am wowed.

When you linked aggressive opposition to the truth and Christian persecution by unbelievers with the unbelievers' need to defend their conviction of what is deemed "truth" to them I couldn't agree with you more. This calls to memory the book, Foxe's Book of Martyrs.

But for the most part, I believe it is wiser to couch the Gospel in language that allows the hearer to completely ignore it if they please.

This sums it up nicely.

However, to be fair to unbelievers, not all house murderous tendencies in their minds in order to defend their conviction from the age-long threat of being exposed as the falsity it is, but since you also associated this possibility with the prophesied Tribulation phase this is a certainty. After all history always repeats itself.

The most important thing, I would add, is for the believer to learn how to abide in Christ. While reaching out to the lost this will guarantee a means that is
sufficient to keep them spiritually safe from such people.

A remarkable exposition that underscores the theme of the irreconcilable difference between the notion of truth and its justification.
TV/Movies / Re: ARROW and THE FLASH fan page....... by Zither(m): 11:52am On Mar 16, 2019
I agree with folks who say the flash season 5 has lost its spark with the introduction of Cicada. Truth be told, it has lost its charm, the intrigue, the bated breath excitement and fear of uncertainty that trailed earlier episodes. Cicada doesn't pose as much threat to team flash as Thorne, Zoom, and Savitar did. Just imagine Cicada and Snow in a showdown and guess who will win. That is how bad it has become. The concept of the Thinker and his Enlightenment pursuit is a deviation from the norm, and though it is not less fascinating it is not as much riveting as the earlier episodes either. The Flash (2014) season 5 is just sinking further in interest, character interest, and plot.

My greatest moment, however, in season 5 was the Elseworlds (1, 2, and 3) crossover where we see some members of the justice league unite to battle the android, AMAZO. That was sweet. Not only that, I get to meet my greatest DC hero's cousin, that is, Batman's cousin, Kate Kane, the Batwoman.

In all, I shall just savour what is left of the Flash episodes, and hope they never introduce a character as boring as Cicada in their next season. My only interest now in season 5 is to see how they solve the problem of the sudden disappearance of the Flash in the future.

Ihedinobi3:

Excuse my intrusion, but I thought to use the opportunity to point out a thing or two.

You have a point. I doubt that many evangelists foist their beliefs on anyone. The biblical position is really that the Gospel should only ever be offered to those who want it. So, it does make sense and is to be expected that good evangelists would not throw their faith in other people's faces. It is too precious, after all, to offer to people who have no sense of value for it. In fact, I believe that the gift of evangelist gives believers who possess it and are spiritually mature and tested for ministry a special ability to identify evangelical opportunities.

Personally, I have very little sense of evangelical opportunity. When I was much younger, I was not even aware of such a thing as evangelical opportunity. I'd just walk up to people and start berating them with what I thought they needed to hear. It was what we were taught we should do. As I grew up, I did it less and less. When I eventually began to learn the Bible seriously, I accepted completely for the first time that while, like every other believer, I am responsible to share the gospel with unbelievers willing to hear it, I am not by a long shot any kind of evangelist. It is very hard for me to even find a way in to speak to an unbeliever about the Lord, so I almost never do. My own gift is far more abrasive. If anyone comes to the Lord Jesus as a result of interacting with me, they would be really humble people because I am far more of a protector than a scout. I do lace everything I say with the Gospel but I don't really go out of my way to "preach to the lost".

Unfortunately, not many believers take the Bible seriously enough to know both how these things work or how to handle people like the OP.

No intrusion committed. This, as every other thread in this section, is a discussion board so feel free to "intrude".

Your experience goes to show we learn. We make mistakes as Christians but we learn. It is God's gift of grace at work. No preacher, or evangelist should subject others to involuntary audience of their preaching in the sense of holding or detaining them at a spot till they are done preaching to them. This approach is infuriating and un-Christlike. Even Christ had to leave a city when the people of the city begged him to depart from there after news of his deliverance of a demon-possessed man had spread to the city.

If a person is not willing to listen to what one has to say about Christ then the wise reaponse is to let them be. They must be willing otherwise the preacher or the evangelist risks being adjudged a fanatic.

Truly, I commend your approach towards reaching out to the lost who are willing to hear. This should be our approach towards evangelism. Like you said, believers should be open to opportunities for evangelism, and not force their religious opinion on others.

I never liked the idea of evangelism even when I was still a believer. It has this arrogant tone, going to people's house to tell them your belief and proclaim judgement on them if they did not agree with you. The worst part was persuading people to follow you to church

Not speaking in defense of anything but I believe they seek your permission first before speaking to you about their belief which I know it lies in your power to decline. You make it sound like they foist their belief down the throat of anyone and everyone they approach which is rather unfair to them especially now you deem yourself no longer associated with their belief system.

Religion / Re: Answered: Can A Christian Lose His Salvation? by Zither(m): 8:51am On Mar 14, 2019
Toks2008:
*The eternal truth about salvation the devil does not want you to know.*

I asked a lady friend few days back if she is born again and she struggled with the response she gave but at the end she said "she is not sure".

Whilst speaking to her I perceived a strong cigarette odour oozing out of her mouth and I thought to myself..."She is probably condemning herself and inadvertently denying herself the identity of being a believer in christ.

Her case is not uncommon with many people who do not see themselves as worthy of the status of "a believer in christ or born again"...and the unfortunate reality is that many people are suffering eternally in hell not because they deserve to be there but simply because they were ignorant of the the eternal truth about salvation

Many of them at a time in their lives had vividly given their lives to Jesus but because they found themselves repeating certain sins they gave up their salvation cos they allowed the Devil convince them that they were not good enough for God's kingdom.

Jesus said *"Come UNTO me all that are heavily laden and I will give you rest"(Matthew 11:28-29)*

He also said
*"All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away."(John 6:37)*

Another scripture clearly states in 1 John 2:1–2
*"My little children, I am writing this to you so that you may not sin; but if any one does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and he is the expiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world."*

And to cap all these, the bible made it very clear in Romans 8,38-39 that *"Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."* Hallelujah!

So brother's and sisters, once you accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour, you are heaven bound and you have no business with HELL anymore...

I don't know the sins in your life or the bad habits that are making you feel unworthy... *no matter the sin or habit Jesus says come to me and I will give you rest*...even after you have come to him and you still find yourself committing same sins or even worse just know that Jesus will never drive you away and no sin can seperate you from Jesus.

All you need is a willing heart,a heart that sincerely wants to live for Jesus and the only person who can help you leave any kind of sin is Jesus.

*You must understand that no matter how hard you try,you can not overcome sins by your effort so rather than give up your salvation or find yourself unfit to be born again,I admonish you to come to Jesus as you are and ask the Holy spirit to help you live a life JESUS will be proud of and you will be amazed that you will hate those sins that you thought you could never do away with.*

*Just remember that no matter how many times you fall,Jesus is ever ready to accept you and if the spirit of GOD truly dwells in you, committing sins will not be pleasurable to you.*

But no matter how hard you struggle with sins in your life,DON'T EVER GIVE UP YOUR SALVATION.

*GOD BLESS YOU AND SHARE THIS FOR OTHERS TO SEE AND BE LIBERATED FROM SELF CONDEMNATION.*

Lies. Anyone who believes this puts his or her soul in jeopardy.

Hebrews 10:38 - Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

1 Peter 4:18 - Now, If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Eternal security is a doctrine of the devil. As long as you think you cannot lose your salvation while you continue in sin, you are on your way to perdition. Even Jesus Himself said He would tell those who said they heal in His name and perform all sorts of miracles in His name to depart from Him. Why? They were workers of iniquity, and the wages of sin will always be spiritual death.
