Op, you just described a building (marital union) engulfed in flames but you won't leave because of what people will say? Do you have a death wish? Ladies, marry your best friend, not opportunity or class, or banging body to avoid stories that touch. Op, wish you luck. |

Thoseen30:doing what? do you mean writing? |
blessingchinny, if you applied for a job that you are qualified for but the manager wants to sleep with you as a condition to grant you the job would you agree to his demands? I see two scenarios here. 1. You are desperate for a job so you let him have his way. You sell your dignity for temporary solution. Your dignity is violated for a price. 2. You have an overriding sense of your dignity and worth, and you know its value in the spiritual and physical existence and will not succumb to pressure to peg it at any price below your standard and principles. Come what may You decide to go with option (1) and damn dignity (will dignity put food on your table?). Of course...but you have lowered your value and your chances at the possibility of a better paying job with greater benefits while still retaining your original expensive value. It is like you gained a day but lost a decade. Worse, you still have to degrade yourself even more to keep the job. This is worse than self-destruction. You have snuffed out the life of your self-esteem. You go with option (2), you get rejected. You are sad but you have not lost anything, neither to anyone. You try again and again until you get a job that appreciates your qualifications or skills and rewards you for your value because you will not settle for less. Your sense of worth intact and growing. You get my analogy here? Every guy who ever left you because you wouldn't give in to his sexual demands is too petty and poor-minded and cannot afford you. Only those with an eye for gold will recognize you for who you truly are. |
angelEmade:hey writer, I feel your rain on my skin. Your words are a warm, distant downpour. I am caught in the torrent riding on the back of the modest drizzle of your literary expression. Now I shall give back the rain to the cloud...not all of it anyway. You know what? I also enjoy a drink of metaphor made from the ethereal spice of a skilful pen. Its lingering flavour in my thoughts does not decay. Hah, the saccharine taste of metaphor. If your conviction is that the unknown is a catalyst for inspiration then you have committed no logical abomination. We break boundaries with the hammer of inspiration. No true poet is quiet. The soul of her pen has a thousand voices seeking expression through the facets of her traits and observations. That which you count an empty drum is barren of craft, of noble aspiration, of meaning. Not you. You write when pregnant with words. That is not noise...it is creative noise, "the best words in the best order"....noise filled with light...poetry...albeit in its blossoming. The bright and alluring clouds harbour a sinister devotion to darkness...yet loved, and a great many nurse the ambition to touch them. Why not you, angel? Having witnessed your literary prowess would a step closer offend your boundary? If your bad is fiery I will be sure to forge a friendship cast in iron in your flames. How can I do that unless we meet? Lol. I wish that this illuminating exchange stretch into time but it is just a wish...but reading you has made me one writer richer and a day brighter. |
cRobo:No. He is just pretending to be dead. |
centboy123456:guy, what is this nah? her opinion. you may not like it but it is her opinion. shey you know your curse is a viper that can strike its master? |
angelEmade:I respect yours, too. Our views may be oil and water but together they make our perception better. This war is but a friendly war...a war that gives life, not one that takes it...where you are the amiable enemy. I am impressed at the bolded. Those two have always eluded my mastery. Will keep along their tracks. Question is why don't you write often? The skill you displayed is like a brief spell of rain on a sunny day. Thanks for the compliment. You are amazing, too. |
Xcelinteriors:Did you read the part where she preceded him in cheating through her admission? Ogun will reward her? ![]() |
Amazing. The info is missing the size of the crab so that one can visually estimate it. |
Jeweltz:In the opposite gender, you will find emotional cheats, unrepentant cheats, professional cheats. You will also find staunchly faithful partners, loyal till the last air they breathe. Don't throw away the baby with the bath water is what I am saying. |
noble4d:When is the semester exams? Is sorting allowed? Nice job, man. Much appreciate your efforts. ![]() |
This poem is my morning coffee. Nice. |
angelEmade:True. Your lyrical composition May sit as queen and command respect from men Or make them happy subjects to your royal rhymes Here lies the litmus test of preservation; I know a poem about three thousand years old....and counting Poetry is without a shelf life Every letter within a poem is an anti-aging cell Makes poetry immune to the ravages of unkind time One thing is sure, your love for words is pure My message is this - if death is a disease Poetry is the cure. |
Katier00:The heart...it does not even know what it wants. How would it know what you want? |
angelEmade:That is the problem. We focus only on pleasing the eyes while the ears suffer the intrusion of discordant sound. What is pleasing to the eyes may be bitter to the tongue. All the senses must agree that a piece is beautiful...not just one sense among five. Even the soul wants a say in the appreciation of beauty. That makes it six. Poetry, in its true form, is beautiful to all the senses. I like the fact that you are a writer, a lyrical dancer but you can also be a wordsmith. |
doggedfighter:I'm flattered. Thanks. |
angelEmade:hmm. You know that is a rap...a sort of multi-purpose composition with rhymes and lyric which are but the shadow of poetry....don't you? I love poetry, too. I admire your piece. It is glossy and shiny but it can be much more. If it must be poetry it must have the blood of poetry flowing in its veins. Let me step aside before I become a casualty of the brewing rap war. |
Kidz will be kidz. You actors and actresses should be the starz of Disney Junior. Don't waste your infantile performance on Nairaland. At least, get paid for your moronic display of absurdity. |
nijabazaar:thank you, sir. it is the truth without vanilla coating or cream topping. |
You know, as a guy I would attack guys who label ladies the derogatory term 'evening newspaper' as I felt that phrase was used only by hare-brained numbskulls and halfwits that have sewage-clogged minds who are better left to sour away their existence in their retardation. What do I see in this thread? There are like-minded buffoons among the female gender who strive to wrest the fool's crown from their male colleagues and flash their badge of ignominy with pride like the dumb peacocks they are. What do you know? Great minds are alike — so are petty minds. Moving on..... Michellekabod2, long time no speak. How are you doing? As regards this issue, the guy and the girl should share the blame equally. For Christ's sakes, they are not kids and they know what they want from life. Both do not want to part from each other as FWBs yet they play the victim card. Don't you think something is amiss? The guy is not resolute in his non-commitment stand. The girl has read the writing on the wall but she chose to stay. There is something they are not telling us but whatever that be they need to give each other a wide berth. I don't want to be judgmental as most on this thread are. As adults they already know what to do. They are not kids anymore. |
Guys, the said boyfriend has made a response to the Op's claim on this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/5724496/like-said-she-lying-not Please do well to read before you form any opinion. |
justnock:is that not an antithesis: "had a good heart" AND "get you killed"? how can a cold-blooded murderer be good? he killed those he was good to.. |
olawumi171:Mehn, you too? Don't you guys think there is a pattern here? You have no desire to let go. That is the problem. Let go and NEVER reconnect. The rest will take care of itself. |
Ineedtoheal:don't try harder; do it! |
sadi78:Please, do well to take down the pics of your kids. So many things can be easily averted by doing just that. In the end, it is your choice. Lovely looking kids, btw. |
mii4u:The guy is test-running his creative writing skill. It will make a nice thriller, don't you think? The jersey is the culprit here. It is jersey from hell. It orchestrated the bloody demise of that lad by turning a loving girlfirend into an ungrateful murderer. The writer is striking a link between ingratitude, possession, and murder. An ungrateful person is possessed and has murderous tendencies. Wow! FairAdvocate, you are good! |
Herdsmen - worse than merciful coronavirus |
TheYoda:Nairaland detective, I hail. You remind me of Redoktober at forexfactory. Some folks may think you are just merely being driven by jealousy or paranoia but they will think DIFFERENTLY and APPRECIATE all your efforts when they become the unfortunate victims of very smart scammers. Thumbs up, TheYoda. This does not mean I think whoever TheYoda's relentless scam searchlight or scam siren falls on is guilty as charged. If his watchful eyes pick out any suspicious movement then it is left to such a person to disprove him with convincing facts. A person should not be charged a suspect and a sentence passed against such person without giving them the right of fair hearing. The truth is people like TheYoda are very important in online trading circles where naive people or rookies are easily preyed on by wolves in the clothing of gurus "consistent and daily winners with mouth-watering offers" who guarantee their clients ridiculous returns despite the complex and dynamic nature of the markets. |
