frank317: Thought you are of the opinion God does not exist. Why are you then blaming a God that doesn't exist as if He manufactured the plane and His error of design led to the death of those passengers? You have deliberately ignored human error, the very factor that has resulted in the death of an untold number of people, and have chosen to put the blame on an entity you have repeatedly denied His existence probably because you expect Him to always clean up the mess humans make, which when He doesn't you blame Him for the consequences resulting from the mess you created. How is that even logical? |

TheArranger: That is where you get it wrong. There is no punishment attached to refusing to worship God. It is not written in the Bible. When a person's spirit is dead, and the person dies physically in that state, he will spend his eternity without Christ, and the only spiritually dead place where a spiritually dead person may dwell is hell. It is not punishment for refusing to worship God, it is the culmination of one's desire to live apart from the Presence of God, and the absence of God is spiritual death. It was a response to another user. You can see you're not the only one i quoted in my last post I see that now. 1 Like |

TheArranger: If you knew how much God has helped you, how much He has done for you, how much He loves you then how do you love Him in return, how do you appreciate all He has done for you, what do you do to acknowledge His mercy, love, and goodness towards you? That is worship — that's why we "bother" to worship. I think the need for expression would be our impasse then. As humans, there is evidence for this need for as far back as our origins go. Other species show this need as well. My questions would be why would an omni-x being express itself, considering how we view expression? I would accept expression for its own sake, but when inferior beings come into the question, that changes everything. The whole "its better to be than not" frankly falls flat on its face. Say that to people living on a dollar a day. Say that to people that have lived short, anguish filled lives full of pain. Say it to sex slaves, manufacturing slaves, etc. And if you both believe in the concept of Hell, love does not work in this equation. You might want to rephrase your question here as the words in bold ink have no relationship of coherence with the paragraph in plain ink. |

TheArranger: It depends on your definition of worship. One can worship God just by loving Him, by spending time talking with Him as Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden, by thanking Him for His deeds, etc... You can see that none of this is a sine qua non for His existence or soveriegnty or greatness...attrubutes connected to His omni-x nature. If God really needed worship to exist, He wouldn't be eternal or ageless. Through science we know that the universe is over 10 billion years old while the human race is not more than two hundred thousand years old. If God needed the "oxygen" of worship to survive why did He not create the human race earlier? We don't even have any idea how much time had passed before He created the universe. That is a no-man's land for science or logic. It could be a 100 or 500 quadrillion years or more before He created the universe itself. What is certain is that His creation is a manifestation of His will which He put into effect at His pre-determined timeframe, and not more. Everything we see was called into existence at the fullness of His set time of His will, not in response to His supposed dependence on a need. Yes, if you created a Ferrari it is because you needed it and you would be incapacitated without it. This is why it is a creation of need. Unlike man, God is not incapacitated in the absence of His creation. In the book of Jeremiah 32:27, God asks, "I am the LORD of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?" If I cultivated a rose garden, is it because I need the rose flower? I do it because I love roses. In the same fashion Man is a creation of God's love, not need. His love is an act of His will. Look at God's creation and acts as an expression, rather than as a means to an end then you will have begun the journey to know Him better. 1 Like |

TheArranger, you did not factor the will of such being into your premises? If God had a need He wouldn't be self-sufficient now, would He? As a being, He has a will which He manifests in creation. It is easy to confuse the manifestation of will with the satisfaction of need. The manifestation of His will is an expression of His sovereignty, greatness and individuality evidenced by His creation. The satisfaction of a need would imply His dependence on external factors, and as such that would be in contrast with His nature as a God who is before all. In other words, His omni-x nature is not tied to need; it is tied to His will as a sovereign Being. 2 Likes |

Topic reminds me of the late Myles Munroe aka The Man of Purpose. This is one of my favourite subjects — purpose. The rewards and benefits of walking in the will and purpose of God for one's life are great and unimaginable, but the result of not walking in them or deviating from them is disastrous, sadly. A personal goal of mine is always to be found in the center of God's will and purpose whatever the cost because I know that there is where I am fruitful and complete. Outside that lies barrenness. Amyblessed, good to hear your familiar voice once again. Hope you are good. 1 Like |
Religion / Re: If You Were To Die Today, Will You Make Heaven? by Zither(m): 6:53am On Mar 11, 2019 |
That heaven exists may not be verified by physical means, but it is verified by witnesses whom God will use to judge the skeptic, the unbelieving, the scoffers. Many of these witnesses died clinical death and returned to life and their experiences tally with each other across space and time and age so be assured there is nothing like Zeus, Allah, Buddah, Krishna, Ra, or the many other man-invented gods with which the scoffers use to make an argument as regards the uncertainty of the true deity in the afterlife. Skeptics will remain skeptics even if someone rises from the grave to report what he or she had witnessed. No cure for skepticism except the Holy Spirit touches the person so they can see the truth and walk in it. |
Religion / Re: WILL GOD ACCEPT A SOLDIER MAN INTO HEAVEN? by Zither(m): 5:49pm On Feb 24, 2019 |
A resounding YES. They will make heaven provided they are just in their duty. When John the baptist was preaching repentance soldiers enquired what they should do to repent, then he replied, "Do not intimidate anyone or accuse falsely, and be content with your wages" (Luke 3:14) NKJV. As long as they do not use their office to commit atrocities or victimize individuals, and if they follow God closely they will make heaven. If soldiers would not make heaven why then did God send an angel to direct Cornelius, a Roman soldier, to send his men for Peter? The Bible said he was a devout man who feared God and prayed to God always. The Bible also recorded that Cornelius and his household feared God. Read Acts chapter 10. In the book of Luke chapter 7, Jesus responded to the faith of a Centurion, whose servant was sick and at the point of death, by saying He had not seen such great faith in Israel. If a soldier had the faith for healing which God honoured, would the same God deny his faith to make heaven? Surely not! It is also written, Jesus said, "But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 10:33) NKJV. Every nation MUST have military to defend the nation from external attacks as well as to help in quelling crisis in the nation. That is a fact. How the soldiers go about their primary duty, especially those of the Christian Faith, is what determines whether they make heaven or not. |

Luvmijeje, I am not opposed or closed-minded to opposing views but your argument is just wrong on so many levels to which Amyblessed has taken the effort to address in words I would have used. Man exists for God, not the other way round. The artist does not limit his power of creativity to just one tool. He always has various kinds of tools at his disposal to bring his imagination to life. This is why He is still an Artist even when there was no pencil. |

Religion / Re: Who Is Behind The Beautiful Picture, The Artist Or The Pencil? by Zither(m): 5:42am On Feb 21, 2019 |
LordReed: The worldly system operates in a different manner from the practise and life of faith obviously. Besides, belief in the existence of God is not the only basis for faith. Getting to know Him personally also requires faith. God is not dead. He is not a myth that was created by figment of imagination. He is a living God and He still talks today as He did in His Word. You may not need faith to date and marry, or relocate to another state, or choose a career, but you do need faith to hear from God to guide you on your choice of marriage, your choice of place to relocate, and your choice of career. It is written, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God" (Romans 8:14). You see, faith goes way beyond belief in God's existence, but this belief in His existence is the foundation of the Christian's walk in Christ. |
