Our football administrators should try set their priority right. They should stop this unnecessary call ups. How many times have they given our local talented players special offer to train with the super eagles. As regard players of Naija root in England, my choice will surely be Odubajo & Abraham as long as they are willing & ready. These two are the only quality that can add bite to the team for now.

the entire arsenal team have been struggling lately even their coach...
well I get you....let's hope he improves and build on his form...to be true...I am not an arsenal fan but his touches are so wonderful... we all know arsenal as a team with one of the best passing accuracy in England... iwobi have been excellent in his passes...that I love him for.
don't think Wenger would've entrust him wit such playtime if he wasn't good enough...
Of course, he is such a delight on his day. So talented & gifted with visionary passes. But still need to work harder on few other things.

I read what u wrote about iwobi...please don't go there...even England are still musing and weeping on loosing him to Nigeria..
a selfless and skillful player of such age are hard to find..
please that guy is good....his touches are superB still remember his play against Egypt in Kaduna... just that I see him as one that can't really play from the flanks in Africa football...
he should be deployed to middle.. then I believe we get more frm him
Bro, i may have been too factual, middle or no middle & sentiment apart, is like you have not been reading comments here with people saying he's been struggling against african oppositions, but not just that, but in most games of late. Though he scored against zambia aside that, he contributed little. Have you not seen his Arsenal performances of late? Bar the entire team, he has dipped in quality. Though still young with room for lot of improvements all round. And i am but patiently waiting. If i could watched JJ Okocha from a showman in Mauritius in '93 to a far better team leader in the EPL, why not him.

To me etebo is not a dmf. That he played there and performed ok is due to versatility & strength. The guy is an amf/wf.
Aluko to me is a better choice than iwobi. Iwobi has lost his spark. If i were the coach, i will only give him say 10mins-15mins, same with simon. And with Musa, i dnt need ighalo. Also, those two keepers, Akpeyi &Ezenwa, are too error prone & have passed their prime. Better options should be sourced home & abroad. Ezenwa was with siasia at the beijing olympics. We have better players sentiments should be stopped.

@tbaba123..I always wonder what is so special about ebuehi, Ademola & co. I have seen him play & to me Ebuehi is an average player. I will pick a fit Mohammed ahead of him anyday. I believe we have better talents at home if we are ready to scout them than all this foreign born at all cost we have embarked on. Look at our boys playing abroad at the moment. Young & talented.

I know Olanrewaju Kayode so very well. I saw him play U17 in 2009, U20 in 2011 and U20 again in 2013.
I saw him play CAF Champions league with ASEC mimosa of Abidjan in 2010/2011. I followed him when he went to FC Luzern of Switzerland in 2012. He came back to play in the NPL before heading for Isreal in 2013. He is currently in FK Austria Vien, since 2015.

He is a good player, talented no doubt and also hard working but I'll say not exceptional thus far. His career progress has been back and forth a kind of.

He is 24yrs old but I cannot classify him with the likes of Martins, Yakubu and Utaka when they were same age.

I see Kayode as a good inclusion to the squad but I sincerely dnt think he will likely be our goals king. I hope he proves me wrong.
Icon4s:
If this is true, then I would go for Onyekuru. However, that doe not mean Onyekuru may be guaranteed a starting shirt as Ahmed Musa and Moses Simon are standing on the lines. Not to also forget Success.

Rohr may even go ahead to invite a player from another role. Not ruling out Aluko's invitation also.
So spot on. Kayode is not clinical though gifted with good pace. Will pick those guys above him too. And he might even have problems still with nff goons.

Somebody has been reported injured. Out of london friendly and football for 12 weeks. Guess another player should be called up in attack. Onyekuru, kalu or adi
How come our centerbacks of leon balogun & Ekong has not played club footy for almost a month now? And yet that seem no big deal to our team selectors
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zoboizee: 6:38pm On Mar 05, 2017
I think some of these players need to launder their image enough. They are not pulling enough strings in the media. See the case of Ogu the last time. Most Nigerians think you count when you play in the EPL or mainstream europe. As far as Nigerian football is concerned, media & the nff connection play a big role in players invitation.
Also, team cohesion is very important. We need to call up at most threee new player at a time so as to build up strong chemistry in the team. With that we are good to go.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zoboizee: 10:20pm On Feb 15, 2017
Ozil & Iwobi are always short 2 for Arsenal whenever they are playing on the defensive. Always slow to marking & too clean to try to dispossess any player. Waiting for the day Arsenal will have guts & glory against bayern : ). Thank goodness iwobi is out.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zoboizee:
@ Forgiveness, i think your list is ok but with the present synergy in the team, i will rather suggest we tweak the team a bit.

In central defense, we may test ken otigba for option.

We can test either of ebuehi, idowu or odubajo(if fit & switched) on our full backs & see where they perfectly suits the team- whether leftback or rightback.

Defensive midfielder to be weighed should be either esiti, ogu, raheem or mikel agu. We already have onazi, ndidi & shehu in that order. Though personally i will prefer mikel first.

Central/attacking midfield. We may test either henry onyekuru, sone, success or samuel kalu. They seem to have been the most impressive talents i have seen of recent of nigerian origin. Though this position is already loaded because we have Oghenekaro Etebo,Mikel Obi, victor Moses, Ahmed Musa, Alexander Iwobi & Moses Simon.

In attack, i think either of aaron samuel, Adi or young gun like osimhen (if fit) or abraham (if switched) will be a good addition to be tested along our strike force of kelechi, brown & ighalo.

who watched iwobi played defensive midfield today later in the game against Chelsea

dude got a bright future behind him...vasatility is top Notch...dude can play anything midfield..and lwf or rwf..

who knows how he would fare at false 9?
Iwobi i think played as an attacking midfielder in the second half not defensive midfielder. If there is anything iwobi is very poor at, it is interception & marking. He just suck at tackling and intercepting passes. So Wenger will never deploy him there. Go watch again.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zoboizee: 6:48am On Jan 30, 2017
For their standards i guess, he has to. Otherwise what we are seeing will remain the case. He his competing against players with good qualities. If the coach cant find alternative role for you due to competition then bench or out of the squad. Can't you see what Iwobi is enjoying in Arsenal or was Success a winger at the U17?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zoboizee:
Guys, can someone tell them in NFF that not every player that made the headlines in England of Nigerian descent they should be clamouring to call up to the NT. At the moment, to the best of my knowledge only injured Moses Odubajo & young Tammy Abraham are worthy of call ups to our NT. They have the potentials/ qualities needed in the Super Eagles for now. As for the rest, we have better local substitute.

On Iheanacho
Sane, Stirling, Debruyne, Navas, & Gabriel are considered on the wings because of their skill, pace, vision, & of course, good first touch. Even Aguero can play on the wings. Kelechi will need to polish his game with skillful moves, deft first touch & also work on his right foot like obafemi martins to be considered for more than just a "clinical finisher" because dats is d only thing Pep says about him. Look at Success, Iwobi, ighalo, ideye or Osaze, they can operate from the wings or centre largely due to their pace & skills.

We don't need him either. we have better option in henry onyekuru and samuel kalu. He can never match their technique, pace & dribbling skills.

our coach is technically poor. Ikidi lack of pace is killing us & her poor positional awareness. Yet she can't seem to spot it
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs South Africa: AWCON 2016, Semi Finals. 1 - 0 (Full Time) by zoboizee: 12:03pm On Nov 27, 2016
Hope our coach should by now noticed that from our second half performances against Ghana & Kenya that we are better off with ordega, oshoala, okobi & oparanozie combination. They quickly close down the opponents from building up from the back. They do it better than with Sunday & Igbinovia in the starting line up. Seems the coach is doing someone a favour.
Nigeria have always had it tough against teams like Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon & South Africa. If the coach did not get her first team right, then i won't be surprised with the result after full time.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Kenya : AWCON 2016 (4 - 0) On 26th November 2016 by zoboizee: 9:32pm On Nov 26, 2016
I hope the coach can see that oparanozie is a better option upfront & not a bench material. Personally, our captain does not deserve that hand band. our coaches needs to be assertive. If based on performance, Ebi is the most deserved captain. She's so good. Our team played better with ordega, oshoala, okobi & oparanozie attacking. Oshoala has 5 goals yet the commentator said 6. She never scored against Ghana haba!
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Kenya : AWCON 2016 (4 - 0) On 26th November 2016 by zoboizee: 8:01pm On Nov 26, 2016
Ordega to me is totally a ghost of her old self. Sunday is like a stroll in the park. Just to shift attention on oshoala. Ordega, oshoala, & sunday are never watching out for one another movements.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by zoboizee: 5:41pm On Nov 24, 2016
Some of these media houses baffles the mind with their poor reportage. what i have read so far are incorrect. Asisat Oshoala never had two assists against Mali & never scored against Ghana. But they kept churning out this wrong news since the games started.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Ghana : AWCON 2016: - 1 - 1 On 23rd November 2016 by zoboizee: 8:46pm On Nov 23, 2016
One thing have noticed in this competition is very bad officiating. we had a clean penalty not given by the ref. In most of the matches, they are always giving wrong calls. The cameroon group are playing on better pitch than the nigeria group. wont be surprise if we upgrade our game once we moved there.

courtesy cafonline.com

Florence Omagbemi (Head Coach, Nigeria)
The game was great and both teams played well.
Ghana gave us a good match and it was an
impressive game. The foul on Asisat Oshoala was
a clear penalty in my own assessment. I was
disappointed in the referee not making the call.
We were not over confident after the 6-0 victory
over Mali. Today, we played against a good team
and it was a good match by both teams. A draw
(1-1) is not a bad result. We played well and were
not expecting to draw. I’m looking forward to the
game with Kenya and get a good result. We just
want to play convincingly against Kenya and
hopefully top the group.

Yussif Basigi (Head Coach, Ghana)
We are not happy to draw, but it is good to draw
when the need arises. Ghana versus Nigeria can
go either way. If for any reason we draw, we
have to take it in good faith. Against Mali, Nigeria
opened up but against us it was very close. The
competition is still on. We have to approach the
Mali with all the seriousness to win and qualify
convincingly.

Kindly apologise for your ignorance. I have been watching Falcons vividly from the time of Mercy Akide. Ngozi Ebere is left footed. Plays left back. Intelligent, quick thinking, shoot well, & mark well too.

Our coach was standing on the by line yet she couldn't see anything for a very long time. wogu, chikwelu, ikidi & igbinovia were poor & slow thruout. They kept the team under pressure throughout the game misplacing passes. i wonder why she prefers ikidi to ebere as a LB because ebere is far better class than her. This has always being the bane of our local coaches- selection and tactics. The girls were slow & only interested in long balls to the strikers. They need to hold the ball & pass not loading it.
