moses simon if chosen will mostly play from the bench. he loves to take on player before making a pass. the flying eagles thrives on quick inter-change of split passes and sometimes long thrust. Simon will slow them a bit. loves to dribble. That is why success and iheanacho combination produce lot of goals. |
Iheanacho scored again today and also made an assist. City EDS will play FC Porto in the International Premier League Cup final after a thrilling 3-2 extra-time semi-final win over Leicester. A poor first-half performance from the hosts meant that Leicester deserved their 1-0 half-time advantage given to them by Harry Panayiotou’s spectacular volley. However, a much improved City emerged after the break, inspired in no small part by second half substitute Kelechi Iheanacho, who levelled the game after 57 minutes. Panayiotou struck again, this time against the run of play, five minutes later, scoring a goal which for a long time looked like it would be enough to set up a final meeting with FC Porto. However, Jose Angel Pozo found a second City equaliser with six minutes to go, running onto Inheanacho’s through ball and slamming home definitively. That took the game to extra-time where the Blues continued to dominate, getting their just rewards after 107 minutes. Kelechi’s fellow second half substitute Manu Garcia had been another key contributor in City’s improvement and so it was fitting that he should score the winning goal, finishing emphatically from Pozo’s cut-back. That sets up a mouthwatering cup final against the Portuguese giants and a shot at the first piece of silverware in Patrick Vieira’s EDS reign. |
Another goal and an assist. Mancity u21 vs leicester u21 |
@safarigirl. U r ryt. pop up wen u least expect him and bang! Wit his left he would score. That's iheanacho. Could be very selfish atimes. Success is quick, skillful, strong, passes very well, and uses both feet. His movement is always a delight. Best for the job in my view. Awoniyi is quick too, relatively strong, holds play up front well and gets into good positions as well. but needs the grits of a top poacher. Simon is pacy, very skillful, uses both feet and with a good knack for goal. But he hogs the ball most time and might slow down team play. His helping out with defense is not too impressive. |
can it accept biss keys |
Good analyses guys. But time will tell.5 years from now. Remember i said individual talent. Mind you truth be told most of these under 20 guys are more than 25 years. And you can argue it MRI scan whatever! Seeing is believing. |
NO. Not true. They are not as talented. Just better teamwork ratio. 2005 were better individually. more matured, experienced, compact and professionals. its being awhile. Dig up the names. |
it depend on ur location if in naija. 3m shld b ok. |
The post was answered. its badr4/5/6@ 26east. use big dish apart from mbc hd tp. |
they would have gone abroad. he needs very good home based players. |
Hmmm.,.agent tinz |
Its 34 names. Has anybody counted it. |
i hereby modify my list based on latest info. 1.Joshua Enaholo 2.Dele Alampasu 3.Ojo Olorunleke 4. tbaba1234:I think Pyagbara is good. if not would not have made the squad. hope u saw the goal he scored calmly against CIV with his left foot. That was class. I can bet Awoniyi will miss that on his left. He has a very poor left foot. If u doubt me, go and watch his past matches. About the keeper {Olorunleke}. Only God knows what happened to him. A whole premier league goalkeeper. Guess he had a bad competition. But he his still good. Saleh and Jimoh also. I guess they were overwhelmed by the competition being their first. |
I would implore coach Manu Garba to atleast give some untested overseas players a chance to prove their worth and if not good enough theycan be dropped like coach John Obuh did. Below will be my list for the provisional squad: 1.Joshua Enaholo 2.Dele Alampasu 3.Ojo Olorunleke 4.Musa Mohammed 5.Wilfred Ndidi 6.Aliyu Abubakar 7.Elohor Ekpolor 8.Mustapha Abdullahi 9.Kingsley Madu 10.Bello Zaharadeen 11.Izu Omego 12.Idowu Akinjide 13.Ifeanyi Ifeanyi 14.Mathew Ifeanyi 15.Alfa Abdullahi 16.Yahaya Musa 17.Nwobodo Obinna 18.Nwakali Chidiebere 19.Bulbwa Bernard 20.Simon Moses 21.Awoniyi Taiwo 22.Alhassan Ibrahim 23.Iheanacho Kelechi 24.Success Isaac 25. Solomon Theophilus 26. Ezeh Chidera 27. Balogun Boluwatife 28. Prince Aggreh 29. sadeeq Yusuf 30. Christain Pyagbara 31. Saheed Abdulganiyu 32. Wasiu Jimoh 33. Usman Saleh 34. Samuel Okon 35. Billy Auta |
hmmm... wat a volley.
|
Quoting John Fashanu "I have watched it over and over again and the technique behind the goal was sublime, exquisite and perfectly showed class" |
Not a fluke. he had the time and space to shoot. And the force with which he did the volley was awesome. The keeper tot it was over the bar. it was a dipping shot. so if ifeanyi's shot had gone in, will dat be a fluke too? seen the video over and again. Great technique. I guess zidane's champions league volley was a fluke too? The guy is second most skillful player in dat team after Yahaya. Dnt underrate his technique. |
@joseph. Couldn't help but laugh my heart out when i read this morning your thought on Ifeanyi Mathew. Quoting you " I personally think Ifeanyi Matthew should be called up to the Super Eagles NOW. The lad is a baller. Excellent passing and more. He is made to be a midfield general and throughout the tournament he has shown that he is the one that made that midfield tick". I had seen this long time ago. That was why i told you he is far better than Obinna Nwobodo and Manu knows. |
I hope these lagging players come with there A game on Wednesday. Awoniyi (improve passes and put pressure on defenders wen nt in possession), Mustapha (composure when marking rather than turning sideways becos most goals conceded frm 2013 till date comes from his flank), Musa (improve crossing), and Eze ( no fancy foot pls). A worst ghanaian team will bring up their A game against us anyday. They always want to keep their superiority intact. Take them lightly and they will hurt u. Manu be warned. Forget Friendlies o! |
Hope u know Ghana dnt joke with a Nigeria match. They hate losing against us. its more of insult to them than losing to small Togo. They either win or lose and leave us with injuries as a souvenir. ![]() |
@Joseph. I tend to disagree with you on wat u said earlier. Mathew is far better than Nwobodo and Manu knows. And the said super4 he wasnt better than Mathew in the game he played. You can go back and watch the tapes. In today's match, too many poor touches of the ball from him. infact, he lost the ball that led to the first goal by the ivoirians but made it up with an assist. He his playing to the gallery by dressing the ball too much rather than keeping it simple and burn less energy. he lost possession more than any other player on the Nigerian side followed closely by Awoniyi and made the midfield static in the first half. And on alhassan, information i have says dude is not in good form of old and not that he was injured or something but step up his game a bit today. Finally, Musa's crossing needs a lot of improvements. Just not too good. Mustapha's marking too. Needs improvement. on the goalkeeper, poor timing. And kudos to ifeanyi ifeanyi today. he was such a trojan in the middle. |
nigeria's jersey is but a let down. did anyone noticed bulbwa's name peeling off from the jersey.Same thing happened at the super six. Shame on nff! |
Alhassan ibrahim seems to have lost his old touch because it baffles me how chidera eze gets picked ahead of him. Through out the super6 he was not used. Against Ghana in the friendly he played a little role. And against Senegal.... he was simply off. Imagine a substitute being substituted. He was so confused by the act but it was obvious. Thank u Manu for the observations. If he is not good enough dont patch him up unnecessarily no matter how close to you his agent is like Keshi's players. |
siasia's u20 set remains the best still until this current set equal and surpass their feat. |
Garba's team is highly predictable. His squad will look almost like this. Goalkeepers 1.Olorunleke 2. Enaholo 3. Alampasu Defenders 4. Musa 5. Mustapha 6. Okon/ Bello 7. Ndidi/ Silas 8. Omego 9. Abdulganiyu Midfieders 10. Akinjide 11. Ifeanyi 12. Alfa 13. Mathew 14. Nwobodo 15. Bulbwa Attackers 16. Awoniyi 17. Yahaya/ Aggreh 18. Success/Pyagbara/ Sulaiman 19. iheanacho/ Saleh 20. Jimoh 21. Alhassan/ Ezeh |
Pls somebody tell Mr Pinnick to minimize his wakabout. The real deal are Solanke, Akpom, Ibeh, Alli, Aneke, & jordan obita. These are very good talents. And try take a trip to spain, Goodswill in barca youth team is another super talent. Visit hollland too, there is a certain Bobby with lovely left foot, quick pace and exquisite skill. Always makes me laugh with his skill. |
Their undoing has been finishing against strong teams. Awoniyi and eze are not clinical. They ve always been wasteful. if iheanacho, success or moses are added, definitely their will be great improvement in attack. And at the back, Bello and Mustapha seems to be the weak link at times. And Alfa get easily dispossess by combative midfieders in the middle. This view is based on super 4 tournament. |
ghana u20 vs nigeria u20 played out a 2-2 draw few minutes ago. ghana equalized in the second half after the flying eagles led by two goals to one at half time. |
Yeah Obinna is good but dont you think they play better with Mathew / Alfa in the middle. Mathew is fast, mark better, strong, and with better vision for goal. Alfa is good but not as good as mathew. He his a bit slow and get out muscled sometimes. Obinna is smaller, mostly out muscled by bigger opponents, but got delightful touch/ pass and a good vision for goal. |
it freezes nowadays in my place too. though mine is 72%. |
