Even the Germans with their favourite tag are out. Why can't we let by gone be by gone. At least the club chairman dat wanted to sell his club midfielder can now close the deal now and the other guys can rest or go for pre-season with their respective clubs. The ones who haven't got any deal can thrive harder. The olympics qualifier is still there. The lucky ones might still get chosen. |
davit:U dnt need to retrack. nxt tym just change lnb first, connect direct, if it works, then try it with ur switch(diqsec) to see if it is still good. then if not, change both. it is only strong wind dat will require tracking again. or just small shift to the left or ryt. |
Remember saying this to somebody.
@Watchindelta. And on Germany, hmmm...they
are not over-hyped. They are very clinical and
shoot accurately. If we slip a bit, that's it.
Guess it came to past. |
@Joseph. Why not edit the last sentence. They are incorrect. Some of these journalists don't watch matches at all. @Watchindelta. And on Germany, hmmm...they are not over-hyped. They are very clinical and shoot accurately. If we slip a bit, that's it. |
Hmmm...break down. He is a work horse. he has good engine. |
we would be better off with success on the right flank and iheanacho as the targetman. then can they change position from time to time. And yahaya on the left flank. Manu is mostly concerned about poor defensive abilities of our ryt n left back. dats y he needs pple on the flanks who can equally put in defensively. And he probably wont get dat wit success, iheanacho and even simon. Take for example, our leftback, so easy to dribble. so he needs lot of covering for by the flank guy. The coach is more concerned abt is weakness than strength. |
@kannymoore, i remember that arguement on this thread in May quoting myself " Success is the most clinical. A team player, Strong, pacy and skillful. His positioning is awesome. Awoniyi will still remain third best to me. His popularity is as a result of the absence of success and iheanacho. Bet you, if those guys have been playing national team football ever seen after u17 world cup, nobody will rate awoniyi this much. Remember he was in morocco 2013 but a hamstring to success gave him the big break in UAE. if iheanacho had played with success the way he played with awoniyi in UAE, success would have scored more than 7 goals in morocco. But in the competition in morocco when he played with Success he was always trying to make a point and being selfish a bit. So a well school iheanacho in distribution paired with Success will beat any team with wide margin come rain or shine. Ezeh to me, should still be below simon and pyagbara. But might be chosen anyway. He is a product of nff." Guess am being vindicated now. |
casket:naija and new zealand time zone na day n night. no dey believe efrytin from those twitter guys o. this morning as how? if we day AM na PM dem dey o! Dem don dey sunday now as we dey |
I think idowu, mathew, and sokari combination should be tried in training. Or idowu, nwakali and mathew combination. But problem with nwakali is dat he is too attack conscious and thus expose the defence during counter-attack but defend, shoot & pass very well. ifeanyi ifeanyi is good against physical teams playing long balls. But teams with quick passes, he is xtra luggage. because guy is slow, poor short passes, no forward movement and too hesistant sometimes. And if the coach want to stick to him then fine. yahaya and iheanacho / bulbwa & yahaya on the flanks with success in the centre is another good combination for attack. with awoniyi as sub for success or kelechi and simon or saviour for yahaya |
missed the match. Any link for video highlights |
tbaba1234:he was part of it. they had other vry good players too. About 5 of them. the ryt wing guy is equally hot too and technically better. |
@TheGoodjoe. Mind you Simon is a showman n nt rily good defensively. And might slow them down during fast breaks. Does lot of leg over, twist and turn and thus allowing opponent to recover or regroup. Always like to go solo. This will affect the team when he will be losing possession. In abuja, jj did exactly dat, we lot by 3 goals. To saviour will be best to start with. |
samueld0:ifeanyi mathew is technically far better at bending the ball and hitting straight shots. so should be ahead of ifeanyi ifeanyi. most of his freekicks to me dont add up. Technically at hitting the ball hard, i will pick mathew, musa and success but at placing the ball at tight angle expertly, nobody beats iheanacho. musa practice a lot of freekicks n penalties after training. dats the difference. |
Heard Manu is trying to deploy iheanacho as an attacking midfielder, hope he factors in defensive duties because iheanacho is poor defensively unlike nwobodo n sokari. Against Milan n Chelsea is a good example. Sokari to me will still be a better choice. He is strong, combative, quick and can easily cover more ground. Taiwo and Success dont really add up too because they r also strikers that dont really track back much. So according to media reports, if the three are used together against a team that inter change passes quickly then we r in trouble. |
Nothing like juju. they r trying. No point causing problems. |
Ijebu n itshekiri are kinsmen. u can pick certain words common to each other. if u an ijebu listen to omawumi native song. benin n yoruba of lagos n ondo are diff but have lived together for centuries and intermarry. so does the itshekiri factor n the ijebus |
There is so much information about our team now for any of our opponents to study with and almost nothing about our opponents going to the competition by our journalists. we tend to expose our team, strong points or strengths and weaknesses by giving away needless publicity. i wont be surprised if our expectation is not met. Ghanaians and co are quiet now because dey r waiting to mock us. |
funny enuff yahaya and simon played for same academy- GBS. Am sure if u have seen them in action you won't ask again. Simon is very pacy and faster than him. But Yahaya is more of a team player while Simon is a showman and loves show-boating. |
The nike jersey have no nff logo. or na trial version. make dem brng original o! |
As for me, musa is better than juwon in efrything. and elderson of old is also better. the guy who crossed the ball was benjamin francis. even madu n mustapha are better. against france at d wc, he committed the same error twice and we conceded-poor pass. |
Flying Eagles coach assures Exclusive By Johnny Edward The trio of Kelechi Iheanaho, Isaac Success and Moses Simon has been assured of places in the Flying Eagles squad for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, Complete Sports can report exclusively. But the trio, according to the head coach of the team, Manu Garba, must be certified fully fit for the competition before they will be picked. Garba told Complete Sports in an exclusive chat Wednesday night that he has been in constant touch with the trio and that the three clubs Manchester City, Granada and Gent have agreed to release the players the team. "Success’ team, Granada is battling relegation in the La Liga and they have pleaded with us that they will release him to us immediately on the 24th after their game against Atlético Madrid," he began in a chat. "Same with Daddy Simon, he will join the team in New Zealand after his team's final game in the play-offs. The problem with Iheanacho is his visa, once that is sorted he will join the team. "We all know these players and they are not new to the team so they know how we play. They have been with us since the U-17 days and it will be easy for them to fit into the team. "We all know the kind of qualities these players (Iheanaho, Success and Simon) possess and how they will be of importance to our team for the World Cup. They will add value to our team. On why he started Taiwo Awoniyi from the bench in his side’s 5-2 win against Hoffenheim; he said: "There have been lots of talks about him lately and we must do everything to ensure he is in top shape for the World Cup because many teams will be watching him to find means and ways to scheme him out of games. "He scored three goals, yes, but every player here are doing well to represent the team at the World Cup level so we have a team to face the world." he concluded. |
by friday, i think some players in d squad to d last ayc are certain to make it 2 d wc but about 8 players slot seem likely contestable. people like ojo, saheed, alfa, nwobodo -injury, jimoh, saleh & pyagbara to be taken by ndidi, nwakali, sokari, success, iheanacho, simon, saviour & adamu. |
Hmmm... kelechi the choice is urs. but remember, in d epl, athleticism, guile, stamina matters. u need a lot of improvement with ur ryt foot too- to control and shoot. so as to reduce wayward shots. but best bet remains belguim or holland. see bertrand traore as a good example. |
Apart from Sokari and Pyagbara, most of the other players have trained together before in the U17 and in this U 20. Even Simon is not new to Manu Garba's camp. Remember is Tony Harris boy. |
Solanke played with better players in chelsea than iheanacho in man city. so he would still score more goals than kelechi even if they start the season together. the man city youth team is not as good as chelsea's. Not a fan of both but judging from their squad talents, team play and results so far. #fact. |
finniblinks:Need i remind you, idowu akinjide doesn't miss a match. And a fully fit yahaya starts game. ifeanyi mathew is a split pass master, so too far behind. |
. Daninya11:Hmmmm....Dear Mr Stephen keshi, hope you are reading this thread. Though the time you spend with your boys might be small but putting the cart before the horse has being the order of the day. Hope you are all ears. No more Tony Harris boys thing ooo! Select your team deviod of "settlement" and sentiment. if he is not fit don't fix him in(e.g omeruo vs S.A in Uyo). As you know but won't admit, bad choice of players kill our last afcon dream. |
tbaba1234:his team has two center back. check very well. Musa and Ndidi. Musa played as center back in morocco paired with omego while nwakali was the right back. kelechi on right wing, yahaya on the left. idowu and mathew in the middle while awoniyi supports success in attack. That nwakali is a utility player i bet can even keep sef! |
if u say so. but remember from 2013(maroc) bello watched from the bench while omego played all the matches. And in terms of matches he probably have more over him. And if not for MRI would have played all the matches in UAE. So if he his not dat good, he would have been abandoned. His problem is timing. Dont u think they would have gone for Aliyu instead. |
Omego is just more of omeruo now. very unstable. but on his day, bello is not better than him. his problem is timing when marking even mustapha. they get dribbled easily. |
Awoniyi and success will probably lead the attack. But for fast break , quick slip through and more goal margin, success and iheanacho without doubt. Manu might revert back to 4-4-2. |
Success is the most clinical. A team player, Strong, pacy and skillful. His positioning is awesome. Awoniyi will still remain third best to me. His popularity is as a result of the absence of success and iheanacho.
