Politics / “mysterious” Rain Disrupted Alamieyeseigha’s Burial Yesterday. by Zobski(m): 9:51am On Apr 10, 2016 |
-Eyewitness dub the late Alamieyeseigha as the rain man – Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, amongst many other dignitaries, gets soaked after an unexpected rain took centre stage at the funeral ceremony of late Alamieyeseigha The late Diepreye Alamieyeseigha has been buried in his hometown Amassoma, Southern Ijaw local government area in Bayelsa state, amid heavy rainfall. NAIJ.com can report that the deceased was buried after a commendation service by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) on Saturday, April 9. However, the funeral ceremony which was graced by top dignitaries which included ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, his wife amongst others, was disrupted as a result of an unanticipated heavy down pour. The funeral ceremony had to be quickly rushed so as the corpse of the late ex-governor could betransferred to the venue for his interment. Just like eyewitnesses and pressmen, dignitaries had a fair share of the downpour as they always drenched in the rain. Eye witnesses who assembled at Amassoma to pay their tribute to the late Alamieyeseigha had to run helter-skelter to seek refuge from the rains, which was unrelenting. Speaking after the funeral ceremony, one of the eye witnesses at the ceremony told NAIJ.com on the condition of anonymity: “The rain didn’t help matters, but I have always known Alamieyeseigha to be the rain man. “I can remember when he was presented to us as our first civilian governor in 1999; he was addressing the people and prayed that peace be restored back to our lands. That was the period when there was crisis in Bayelsa. When Late Alamieyeseigha raised a matchet, signifying the end of the crisis, a heavy rain all of sudden began. It was surprising to see but he has always been the rain man and we will miss him.” https://www.naij.com/793950-mysterious-rain-disrupted-late-alamieyeseighas-burial-photos.html?source=index_featured 2 Likes

Politics / Pastor Oritsejafor Speaks About Buhari, Jonathan 1 Hour Ago by Zobski(m): 9:36am On Apr 10, 2016 |
– Pastor Oritsejafor described Jonathan as his son saying that the former president did his best for Nigeria. – As to President Buhari he advised him to keep Nigerians abreast with the economic reform policies and ensure they are well structured. Ayo Oritsejafor, the president of Christian Association of Nigeria, in the interview granted to the Punch newspaper spoke about his relations with ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Muhammadu Buhari and many other important issues. While describing his relationship with Jonathan Can president said: “I’m often shocked to read on the pages of newspapers negative reports about him (Jonathan). “Goodluck Jonathan is my son and he is still my son. He meant well for the nation and he did his best, but if critics say he was bad; I don’t know the parameter they measured that with. It is unfortunate that Nigeria’s governance speaks different processes, especially those termed to have failed. “Nigerians see that as an avenue to pour out their anger, insults and others. Goodluck Jonathan did his best to fix Nigeria but sabotage swung into action to ensure he did not succeed. It is laughable to read so many negative and unfounded stories about him. However, he had played his role as President and the rest is history. Our relationship is still cordial and as a leader of a church, I’m the father of all.” Speaking about Jonathan’s successor Buhari Oritsejafor described the incumbent leader as the man of integrity with no food for lazy people. He said: “ I thank God for all that has happened. Nigeria is at present undergoing processes with a view to improving the economy and wellbeing. I am glad with the slogan ‘change’, but we must pray hard for the manifestation of the change. President Buhari has the integrity of no food for lazy persons. It is okay but we must make moves for consistent prayers for him to succeed, Nigeria is our noble country, we must salvage it together consistently with prayers. “Buhari’s reformation should be atomistic and not targeted at particular persons or sectors. It is a welcome development to fix Nigeria as a noble country. Buhari’s polices may be too hard for Nigerians but with time they (the policies) will pave way for true democracy, Buhari should keep Nigerians abreast with the economic reform policies and ensure they are well structured.” https://www.naij.com/794028-pastor-oritsejafor-opens-relationship-president-buhari-jonathan.html?source=index_main

Politics / IPOB To FG: We Give you 72 Hours To Release Our Boys Now! by Zobski(m): 11:37am On Mar 30, 2016 |
—The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to release the 76 boys arrested by soldiers at Umuneshi, Awgu in Enugu State, for protesting against the abduction of two women by Fulani herdsmen in their community last week . IPOB said the youths were detained by some soldiers who later handed them over to the Police at Zone 9 Headquarters, Umuahia in neighbouring Abia State, adding that their detention was proof that the Fulani believed that Nigeria belonged to them. The organisation gave this ultimatum in a statement jointly signed by its spokesmen, Mr Emma Mmezu and Dr Clifford Iroanya. They said that Ndigbo had had enough of Fulani brutality and raw show of power, warning of the dire consequences of their non-release within three days from yesterday. The statement read in part, “The raw show of power and bravado by Fulani herdsmen at Umuneshi, Awgu Community in Enugu State just cannot be accepted by any civilized society. “First, the ever recalcitrant Fulani marauders abducted two women on their way to the farm. All entreaties to release the two women fell on deaf ears. The youths of the community mobilized to free their women, but the Fulani warriors informed their kinsmen at the military bases in the neigbouring Abia State. “The soldiers stormed the community, beat up and arrested all 76 youths, bundled them to zone 9, ordered them charged and remanded in prison without as much as allowing them to make statements. “As at today (yesterday), the 76 youth remain locked up and the two women remain missing as Fulani supremacy reigns . The brutal show of power and arrogant display of we own Nigeria demonstrated by the Fulani is not only nauseating but despicable. “Their godfather and guardian angel at the Aso villa is most probably grinning with glee at this powerful statement of his kinsmen as to who are masters and who are servants in Nigeria today. “When you add this to the brazen arrogance of display of Fulani republic flags in Ohafia, Abia State, and the provocative flying of Fulani flags in Agatu Benue State, Eket, Akwa Ibom, and many other places, the IPOB is convinced that the battle of total annihilation has been brought to our door steps by the avowed enemies of peace. “Accordingly, the IPOB is hereby giving President Muhamadu Buhari 72 hours beginning from 6pm, Tuesday, March 29, 2016, to release the 76 youths of Umeneshi Community, Awgu, together with the two women earlier abducted by the Fulani fighters". source:www.vanguardngr.com/2016/03/ipob-gives-buhari-3-days-release-76-youths-arrested-soldiers-enugu/ |

Politics / Ambode Commission Electrification Project For 67 Communities. by Zobski(m): 8:40pm On Mar 24, 2016 |
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode (right), cutting the tape to commission an electrification project connecting 67 Communities in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, on Thursday, March 24, 2016. With him are Commissioner for Energy & Mineral Resources, Mr. Wale Oluwo (middle) and Oba Aladeshonyin of Noforija Kingdom, Epe, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja (left). Ambode commissions electrification project for 67 communities ON March 24, 2016 7:49 PM / IN News / Comments ...Reaffirms Commitment To Welfare Of Lagosians After over five years of being in total darkness, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday c fored an electrification project connecting 67 communities in Ibeju-Lekki area of the state to the national grid. Governor Ambode, who commissioned the project amidst fanfare form joyous residents, also announced the readiness of the state government to pay the electricity bill of residents until the installation of meters in all homes in the affected communities. The Governor said the project was another success story of the Light Up Lagos Project, an initiative of his administration. The Light Up Lagos Project, which is a key programme of the Ambode administration, was built on a tripod which included Community Electrification, Street Lightening and Power Advisory Committee made up of key stakeholders from the public and private sector. The Advisory Committee which was set up in December 2015 by Governor Ambode is being chaired by the state Deputy Governor, Dr (Mrs.) Idiat Oluranti Adebule and its major role is to develop a roadmap to provide sustainable power supply to homes and businesses in Lagos in the medium to long term. Speaking at the commissioning, a visibly elated Governor Ambode recalled that the attention of his administration was drawn to the plight of residents of Ibeju Lekki, Ise and Ode-Omi comprising 67 communities in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) some few months back to the fact that the communities have been without electricity for over five years. The Governor said: "After a due assessment of the situation, we commenced work last year October and we promised to ensure that these 68 communities are connected to the national grid. "Today, we are delighted to say that these communities have been connected to the national grid. "To make this project a reality, 33kv dedicated high-tension lines were laid from Ajah sub-station to Eleko junction and from there spread to 68 communities a high tension network covering 131.5 kilometers was rehabilitated and 86 transformers were installed at a total cost of N600million. "Beyond fulfilling our promise to these 68 communities, we have also demonstrated our commitment to run an all-inclusive government which no one will be left behind. "It is expected that the commissioning of this project will boost the socio-economic activities in this area after having suffered untold setback for over five years," Governor Ambode said. The Governor, who said he was fully aware that lack of access to electricity was not peculiar to the said 67 communities alone, disclosed that the State Government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, was currently attending to similar challenge involving 34 communities in Badagry. He said before September of 2016, the communities would be connected to the national grid. "As we do this, we shall continue with the street lightening of the Light Up Lagos Initiative. The vision is to ensure that we light up all major roads and border towns in the state," the Governor said. Besides, Governor Ambode commended officials of the State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Light Up Lagos Power Advisory Committee and management of Eko Electricity Distribution Company for working tirelessly for the completion of the project. He also reaffirmed the full commitment of his administration to the wellbeing of all Lagosians irrespective of their locations within the boundaries of the state. Earlier, the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Wale Oluwo, recalled that after residents of the 67 communities complained about their plight, Governor Ambode issued a directive for investigation, and that the result revealed that the Sub-station supplying electricity to the communities was vandalised which resulted in the power outage for about five years, until the intervention of the state government. Oluwo said the state government was seriously committed to the sustainability of the Light Up Lagos Project and urged residents to take ownership of the electrification project and imbibe the culture of prompt payment of their electricity tariffs. He said the next phase of the Light Up Lagos Project is to take electricity to public institutions such as water corporations, schools, hospitals among others. Responding on behalf of the residents, Dr. Tola Kasali, one of the community leaders, said the commissioning of the project confirmed Governor Ambode's love and readiness to address the plight of the people. "This is a typical example of a Governor that listens; this is a typical example of a Governor that cares; this is a typical example of a Governor that reacts to the needs of the people," Kasali said. Also, a representative of Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOS), Engr Charles Momoh, said the commissioning was an eloquent confirmation of walking the talk, and expressed the readiness of DISCOS to partner with the state government and make the Governor's dream of lighting up every part of Lagos a reality. source: www.vanguardngr.com/2016/03/ambode-connects-67-communities-national-grid/

Religion / Peter Mutharika Rejects T.B Joshua's Prophecy by Zobski(m): 6:50pm On Mar 24, 2016 |
Malawian President Peter Mutharika on Sunday attacked Prophet TB Joshua over an alleged prophecy that he would die before April 1, state television reported. "I'm told there is a man in Nigeria called Joshua and he is saying that Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe and Peter Mutharika will die before April 1," he said, referring to TB Joshua. "Let me tell you, Joshua... you will fail. What you did in 2012 will not happen again this year," the president told a rally in the capital Lilongwe. In 2012, Joshua reportedly predicted the death of a president of an unnamed southern African country. Mutharika's brother, Bingu, who was president at the time, did die within the predicted timeframe, giving the prophesy strong currency in Malawi. Mutharika did not say when or where Joshua made the latest prophesy. In January, Joshua reportedly gave a televised prophecy, telling his congregation to pray for the leaders in southern Africa, saying: "End of February to April this year, peculiar months for Southern Africa." www.vanguardngr.com/2016/03/im-not-about-to-die-malawi-leader-tells-tb-joshua/ 1 Like

The Governor also thanked the Rivers people for conducting themselves peacefully during the elections. He also pledged his commitment and loyalty to President Buhari, adding that the Rivers government will do all in its power to assist security personnel to maintain peace and order in Rivers state. He said ”I wish to also express my profound gratitude and loyalty to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari for his uncompromising commitment towards entrenching a permanent culture of free, fair and credible elections in the country.” Wike also sympathised with the family of the corper who was killed during the elections, Mr. Dumiebi Samuel Okonta, and prayed that his soul rest in peace. He also said ”I am fully convinced that all those persons, including highly placed politicians, INEC staff and members of the Security Services, who deliberately worked to sabotage the re-run elections in the State on March 19, 2016, were fifth columnists and enemies of progress who were out and determined to undermine the electoral process and perpetuate the old discredited ways of doing things in order to ridicule the people of Rivers State, Mr. President, and the nation in general, as incapable of conducting credible and violence elections before the global community.” ”I wish to re-emphasize that I fully share Mr. President’s position that we must as a people and as a nation exterminate the scourge of recurring flawed elections and join the rest of the civilized world in conducting relatively flawless and credible elections at all times,” Wike added. opera.pulse.ng/local/rivers-rerun-wike-thanks-rivers-citizens-pledges-loyalty-to-buhari-id4841685.html source:

Religion / T.b Joshua Is My Boy Says Ghanian Witch Doctor. (photo) by Zobski(m): 4:27pm On Mar 24, 2016 |
Popular Ghanaian witch doctor, Priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam , has had a ‘war ’ with popular Nigerian Prophet, TB Joshua , at least once in the last two years — Priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam says he backs up over 1 , 700 African preachers ‘spiritually ’ Prophet TB Joshua who is the founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN ), has come under fire several times for allegedly hiring people to pretend to be sick and disabled and then claim to heal them during his prayer meetings . Kwaku Bonsam , who operates from a shrine at Sa -Peiman , a village on the outskirts of Nsawam in east Ghana, is assumed to be a very strong witch doctor who is also called ‘Devil of Wednesday’ . Apparently , this Ghanaian priest is said to be very powerful , that he has claimed he’s the ‘spiritual father ’ of some of the most powerful preachers in Africa . Here’s what the priest had to say : “ Over 1 , 700 pastors and so called men of God from different parts of Africa have approached me, seeking powers to perform miracles , including Prophet T . B Joshua from Nigeria . He is my boy . I challenge him to come out and deny this. Apart from the pastors , many prominent business people and celebrated church founders in Africa frequent my shrine for my services and if they deny, I am going to name them . ” Kwaku Bonsam went on to say that his god is called Kofi -Kofi, and he fortifies him with supernatural powers which he in turn provides to pastors across Africa. The question is , why would he choose to threaten to expose his ‘dedicated’ patrons ? Source : Naij Menu

Politics / 10 Good Reasons Northern Igbo's Are The Real Igbos! by Zobski(m): 10:06am On Mar 21, 2016 |
hmmmmm... I know many people will come for my neck for these post, but is high time I speak for many Igbo's especially those in the north. yes! it pains me when my brothers agitates for biafra. one thing I keep asking myself is these: were they aware that some Igbo's if not majority is residing north. if they do, then why risking our life's in one fruitless pursuit for Biafra? here, is ten good reasons why Igbo's in north are the real Igbo's. (1) We're more intelligent: yes, northern schools is difficult than thoes in east. it is devoid of cultism and subjected to hardwork. In the east, is easy to bribe your way to the top. Unlike the north, yet Igbo extraction in north still pave there way to the top. 'e no easy'. (2) The non-indigene perspective: Igbo's especially fall victim of these yet we don't give up. give it to Igbo's in north always stand their ground no matter what. we still find our way out. (3) Love for money: everybody loves money but Igbo's have been accused of lusting for it more. yet it will surprise you that not all Igbo's love money those in the north are the ones with these huge appetite. if you understand the intimidation Igbo's face in north yet are in the forefront especially in monetary affairs then you will understand who the real, Igbo's are. (4) Igbo's in the north are the most crucified. they are victim's of northern aggression yet proudly Igbo's. (5)Igbo's in the north still speak Igbo fluently even if they had spent 20 to 30 years in the north. (6)Unlike other Igbo men you find in the east that talk carelessly without action. you won't catch an Igbo man talking carelessly in the north cos they are responsible and won't engage in beer parlour gossip. (7) most Igbo's in the north has since forgotten the past and have moved on with there future. these is what the true Igbo's are know for. We don't wine over spilled milk. (Igbo's in the north have suffered more death consequences either due to ethnicity or religious view. yet We rock and we still believe in the Igbo nation. (9) Igbo's in the north are Nigerians. not ipob cos we understand the consequences for our action (10) you can add yours... 5 Likes |
